The malfunctions are going to happen with lighted nocks, We had a halo fail off camera as well! Unfortunately it’s a part of the process… however finding the ones that you believe work the best and fail the least is key!🔑💪
The big thing that halo is better at is accuracy. I can tell you that nocturnals have accuracy issues. That “little flier” will turn into a big miss with a fixed blade. The other thing they win at is turning off is easiest with halo. Also, another win is they are the lightest lighted nock which is good for FOC and arrow flight. Another pro they are stiffer nocks than nocturnals which makes nock fit more repeatable (again better accuracy). Frankly, brightness is not the way to say which nock is better. Nocturnals are the brightest I have used, however also the least accurate and that just won’t make my quiver. I shot plastic nocks until I found halo because any other lighted nocks I have tried would throw “little fliers” too often and I noticed. Really comes out in broadhead flight how good a nock is.
Interesting🤔 what strings are you using? I have been shooting GAS strings and haven’t noticed that, I actually thought the Nockturnals fit a little loose…
@@MADDHunts Mathew’s match strings, the stock serving thickness fits great with the aae ip5 nocks that comes on my rip tkos and the nockturnals fit really good too. I can turn the nock around the string off the arrow and it won’t spin my d loop. If I put the halo nock on my string and rotate it around my d loop will turn 90 degrees before it starts moving on its own so it’s super tight nock fit on the halo nock. Which in the end will destroy your serving material
I have about 30 nocturnal nocks that all stopped working from practice shots. They only come on if in the exact right position. I also hate that ALL of my nocturnals rattle if you tap them on your arm. The Halo nocks are easier to use, don't rattle, and turn on every time. They are usually dimmer but I like knowing that they atleast turn on when I shoot.
@@WackemAndStackem @brockpeck7073 as far as duds are concerned. I've had the opposite experience. I love everything about the Halo nocks, and the brightness wasn't a concern for me. But I just bought 3 packs of Halos a couple weeks ago. One of the packs isn't opened yet, as those will go in the first three arrows in my quiver right before season starts. The other 2 packs I've been using for practicing (so I'm practicing with my exact hunting arrows). In just 4 sessions.. 2 of the Halo nocks are failing to light when shot, or are just barely lighting, and on another one the reset button blew out so there's no turning it off unless its on the string. So that's only 3 of 6 remaining after seeing just a little bit of use. The two that aren't lighting properly are not dead, because if I fidget with them I can get them to turn onto full brightness.
@DrakeValleyOutdoors guess it depends on the batch you get. I have nothing against either one. I have them both. I have weighed the G nock versions of both and the difference is 1 gr.
You guys definitely missed one big aspect of lighted nocks. that’s the construction and the fit of the nock in the arrow. Fit has always been a problem with lighted nocks
It’s definitely a valid point to be made! There’s a million different topics we could discuss about them… unfortunately we don’t have enough time in the video to cover absolutely everything. However in our opinion we think they’re both pretty comparable however the HALO’s are a bit tighter in the arrow!
I chose Halos over Nocturnal due to performance over brightness. They are lighter, easier to turn off, can’t turn on while at full draw. From what I understand, Halo made their nock sized comparable to OEM nocks for better flight and weight. A little less bright is worth the better performance to me in the Halos. Notice the Nocturnal came on while at full draw which won’t happen with a Halo and the nocturnal malfunctioned. If you don’t just look at brightness, the Halo is a better nock. Also it’s made in Texas compared to the Nocturnal being made in China. Just my opinion
Halo may not be as bright, but they perform more consistent and are easier to turn on and off compared to the nockturnal nocks. After a few shots through the nockturnal the switch wears out and can’t get them to stay off. Love my Halo nocks and the ease of use for turning on and off and are 2.5 grains lighter
They are a far better design when it comes to strength and accuracy and almost every other metric. there only downside is there not as bright as nockturnals but there plenty bright enough.
Up close the more plastic area definitely helps it stand out! At further distances the HALO nocks seem to stand out a bit more to us, but we encourage everyone to form their own opinion as well!
I think the reason people like halos is how easy they are to turn off and no need for a tool. They are also slightly smaller than nocturnals and lighter weight, more foc for the ones that care and a lot less likely to turn on when you nock it in my experience. 🤷🏻♂️
I asked connors mom and she confirmed that it’s the best channel out there!
My favorite so far! Keep it up! 💪💪
Much appreciated 💪💪
Never had issues with the nockturnals. I’ve shot the red, green, and pink. So far the pink has been the brightest and easiest to see in the woods.
Pink could definitely be worth checking out!
Agree 💯
Good video guys! I shoot the Nockturnal. I have tried the Cabela’s blackout. And most of the time it will not stay on. Nockturnal is the best.
Much appreciated! The Nockturnals are great Nocks! 💪🙌
It seems the Nockturnals malfunction more, does that persuade you more for the HALOS? Or is the brightness worth it?

What broadheads will you use?? Maybe you could test those as well?

Arrow flight is a big factor! We might have to test the accuracy in them as well!
I love everything about the Halo nocks besides the string fit. They’re way to snug on my serving. The nocturnals fit perfectly

Right on! That’s very true, I haven’t noticed that on my setup, but it could be a major issue! Definitely need to lookout for
@@MADDHunts great video guys! Kept me interested throughout the video now I’m interested in the whole channel
We appreciate that! We have a lot of awesome stuff coming up! Stay tuned!💪🔥
I get a lot of duds, ones that flicker or don't work after a few shots from nocturnal. Halo work every time..
Definitely worth noting!

Definitely not cheap😂
Halo best nocks are RED body and red light.. They are the shizz
Nocturnals are brighter by far
One thing makes me pick HALO and that’s weight. It drastically helps you keep your FOC in check
100% weight is a BIG DEAL!
I’ll buy halo just because turning then on and off just makes sense
That’s definitely a huge plus!
Brightest Nocturnal's I've shot and still shoot are the pink. Haven't tried the orange ones
We actually just picked up some pink ones… we’re pretty excited to see!
@@MADDHuntsAwesome 🤘🏻 I'm pretty sure they're the brightest nocks I've ever seen. U'll see 😁
Looking forward to it💪💪

I have the green nockturnals. Mine flicker when I knock them but never stay on.
I suppose the batteries could be dead? But that’s definitely tough!!! How long have you had them??
@@MADDHunts they work i want trying to say they don't. I was just referring to yours turning on and staying on when knocked.
Ohhh I gotcha!! That makes sense, I’m not sure what our issue is with that, regardless them staying on doesn’t really effect the shot!
look like you having a hard time pulling that mathews bow back
It was a long day😂 we were both very tired when filming this!
I found some really cheap knocks on Amazon that are brighter then both of them and they last so much longer as well
I’d love to know which ones? We would love to give them a shot!
The only thing better with the HALOS is fitment.
I definitely thought the HALO would perform better 😢

my halo nocks work fine they are not as bright as nocturnal but good enough gor sure and they are lighter
FOC is definitely crucial! I think both are a great option!
Price difference?
34.99 for the halos and 29.99 for the Nockturnals… there’s a difference but not substantial
I think the Nocturnals look brighter because they have more plastic area to light up.
Up close the more plastic area definitely helps it stand out! At further distances the HALO nocks seem to stand out a bit more to us, but we encourage everyone to form their own opinion as well!
Lumenck orange hd is brighter than all of em
I baught the green red n orange and the green are brightest then red then orange
That’s super interesting… 🤔 we will have to check them out!
