***** I started to do the one thing Christianity teaches you not to do. I started to question things. Especially the things I really didn't understand. Things that clearly outright contradict each other. When I was a Christian, I genuinely wanted to remain as such. But the glaring contradictions were never explained. I prayed for clarification and it never came. So I slowly became an atheist and now I feel free from the shackles of judgement and damnation. Reading the Bible is what led me to atheism. Verses like Isaiah 45:7 where god admits that evil is his own invention. I started to realize I couldn't worship this evil bastard anymore.
***** I'm also interested in what/why people believe (or disbelieve) in. The Bible isn't an easy read for the average theist. Even when I was a Christian I would read passages and say to myself "that doesn't make any sense at all." But I would always justify it by re-assuring myself that this is the word of god and just because I don't understand it doesn't mean it's not true. Now I look back and say to myself "what was I thinking?"
+i_Phantoms_ How does the concept of hell in any way contradict free will? saying that there are different things that happen to people after they die only implies that there are different consequences to people's different exercises of free will, not that they don't have that free will.
***** you said in your second comment "We don't have free will in the bible." because god supposedly sends people to hell. are you conceding you were wrong about the free will thing?
I love when people tell me ''Oh well can YOU disprove god?'' That's not even the issue... I don't even think I'm an atheist, at that point I think I'm just a regular person. Now it's these guys that came out of nowhere claiming there is a god. THEY are the religious people, I'm just a normal dude who has common sense Hey I think there is a god oh okay cool I don't OKAY DISPROVE IT ... the burden of proof is on the religious people, not us
I agree. The same thing can be illustrated with the cosmic teapot analogy. I claim there's a flying teapot orbiting earth. There is no way you can disprove me, as we have no way of ever locating or seeing the teapot. It is simply not possible. Does that mean there is a flying teapot orbiting earth? There is no way you could ever disprove my claim that there is. Instead of me claiming there's a teapot orbiting earth saying: "There is a teapot orbiting earth! Prove me wrong." I should say: "There is a teapot orbiting earth! Here is the proof it exists.".
Burden of proof is always on the positive claim, even if that positive claim is that there is something bright in the sky (the sun). Aint got anything to do with which is extraordinary or weird just which is the positive claim
I just saw three "atheism is a choice" comments in a row! Let me tackle that. It was not my choice for there to be no evidence of a god in the universe, and instead plenty against the concept of one. It was not my choice to be born a natural skeptic in an environment where my skepticism wouldn't have me killed, thus allowing me to think critically. It was not my choice for the "holy word of God" to completely contradict not only history, basic astronomy and geography, and general morality, but also itself in hundreds of places. It was not my choice to be unconvinced of the claim that there is a god. I cannot force myself to believe in something if the evidence to prove it doesn't exist. If God wants me to believe in him, but doesn't want to provide the proof, that's his problem. It just makes him the asshole if and when he burns me for it. I'm at no fault here.
I just don't understand why choosing to be an atheist is a problem anyway. I've reviewed the evidence available to me and do not believe in God. It's not like you look at the evidence and then say "well the whole thing is bullshit but I want to believe in God" then you automatically believe in God
Ricky Gervais kept it so simple. He summed it up precisely for me. I'm having a difficult time discussing my nonbelief with religious people. I needed to just keep it simple, succinct. Thanks for the upload.
No idea why people think Gervais' point is compelling in some way. God doesn't make one become an atheist, one chooses to. Why is that hard to understand?
I agree. Anti-theism needs to go just like religious extremism needs to go. And yes, 'The Flying Spaghetti Monster', believing in things without evidence is not automatically a bad thing! Evidentialism is dead. It is not only an invalid but a *self-refuting* worldview: 1. We all believe in at least *something* without evidence. If nothing else, we believe we're not just dreaming all of this, and that we're not just brains in a vat. And we believe these things on the basis of a perceived benefit, rather than evidence. 2. The belief "One should not believe in anything without evidence" is itself an evidence-less belief, as are all moral judgments. And so we should not believe in evidentialism, according to evidentialism itself.
+Vic 2.0wow! That is dumb. So because "according to you" we all believe something, that is a defense to believe something stupid and unethical without evidence? Hardly! Refraining from belief is not a belief my friend, any more than abstinence is a sexual position. Your position is laughable. Without discernment and reason, people are left believing idiotic and evil things, like Jehovah ordering Joshua to rape and murder children and his men BELIEVED it was from god, then you hold that up as an ethical standard. Bad ethics and bad science, this is what you choose to believe in? Why? for no good reason. And that is fine by you because, I believe my brakes will work. HAHAHAHAhahaha!
Not just an open mind but acceptance and respect of others beliefs or opinions...I'm not religious but i don't go around saying crap about religion I am (spiritual not religious)
I am from the USA, and im atheist. I grew up a catholic. up until about 5th grade was when i would go to church all the time. Then as i got older, i became more secular. One day i decided to read the bible again and realized that what i have followed was nothing but hate. If man lays with man as he would a woman, stone him to death. If your wife is not a virgin on her wedding day, stone her to death All these hateful verses and actions under religious rationale were what led me to ask this: "maybe there isnt a god". Then i looked at scientific evidence and said "i can confirm that there wasnt a god to begin with". Im now an atheist and fully against religious oppression.
You don't take it literally. And Jesus disbanded the laws in the book of Leviticus and the pope himself has said that homosexuality is ok and that these people should not be oppressed.
I loved the Dara O'Brian clip because it was so true. I left the Catholic church in 1983, and have become more and more convinced ever since that all of Christianity is bullshit, have made videos on the subject that my family has seen, and regularly comment about religion, and my very devout uncle still insists that I am a Catholic, because I was confirmed in 1973. Apparently, it's like a street gang - once you join, you're in for life. It's like the Jets in the musical "West Side Story": *_"When you're a Jet, you're a Jet - from your first cigarette to your last dying breath."_*
***** The little money part could even work - many people do low paying work out of dedication to helping others. But the no sex thing is just contrary to human nature. AT the very least, in this modern age, every newly ordained priest should get a free lifetime subscription to PornHub.
Quite possibly the BEST thing about the internet (besides porn) is the dismantling of religious lunacy. Theists are ridiculed and mocked endlessly for being the gullible pricks they are. God bless the internet!!!
Andreas Christ4ever So you actually think the whole 'son of god, virgin birth, saviour' thing originates with Jesus??? LOL Enjoy your cult of plagiarism, you intolerant simpleton.
Andreas Christ4ever Well believe it or not, but my name IS Jim. Your username reeks of pure delusion though. Funny how you hate homosexuality so much, but you'll fucking WORSHIP a man. Even put his body in your mouth and drink his bodily fluids LOL. Jesus was gay. Hung around with 12 guys and no women.... Washed mens feet.... Avoided fights...Got nailed by some Romans :D
God give us the freedom of choice to choose to believe and follow God didnt make him an atheist he chose to be an atheist if God didnt gave us the freedom of choice than God would be forcing us to believe but He is Just and theirs many evidence in the existence of Jesus Christ but people dont look for them so they just say theirs no evidence if God doesn't exist then Jesus Christ wouldn't exist either God created life, life itself can't be created out of nothing
william delgadillo Because no deity has ever presented itself to mankind. Not one deity. If I were a god I would at least pop my head out of a cloud now and then.
ozskipper Shroud of turnin which being studied from professional scientist for many years and could never prove it was fake which is funny because professional scientist can study and quickly find out if something is fake or not. the metal that was nailed in the tomb to seal the tomb of Jesus Christ that also scientist studied and found out the age of the iron is the same as when Jesus Christ was crucified the stone that covered the tomb and also has piece of the iron like i said you need to look for them instead of just saying theirs no evidence without even doing some research
william delgadillo Thats not evidence. Some iron from the Iron age, is just some iron from the iron age. To suggest its from the tomb of jesus is ridiculous. They dont even know where Jesus tomb was, let alone what stone belonged to it. The shroud has been dated to CE 1262-1384. Its a shroud, yes. But it doesnt even belong in the same millennium. I have done 1000s of hours of research. When people make ridiculous statements saying these things exist, I will challenge them to prove it. You, like others, havent
I'm with Gervais on this one. I grew up going to church, Sunday school, Catechism and all that. When I became old enough for my brain to go "something isn't right here" I began to ask questions. You know what I found? Not a single shred of actual proof exists to confirm any of the stories I was taught in church actually happened. I also found that the deeper you dig the more organized religions begins to unravel, exposing the hypocrisy, the lies, and the HUGE gaping holes found in almost all of their teachings. Religion is an attempt by humans to wrap our tiny little brains around how small and insignificant our lives are. I say if it makes you feel better about your existence, helps you quit drinking, become a better person, etc etc than by all means have at it. My issue with religion is when a certain sect of people aren't happy just believing what they believe and feel the need to impose their beliefs/religion on others.
Cheezeburger Walrus yes we can. In fact, an atheist killed many Christians just for being Christian not to long ago. It was all over the news. You can believe in what you want man. The sad truth is that this world is full of evil and suffering and death. To believe that that is all to our livelihoods is an understatement. I believe that there is something good out there. And I believe that the world will be different one day. If you want proof argue with the Christian scientists and not just the Christians who worship. Prove the most experienced on the subject false and not just the ones who relish in the Christian life alone. When maybe you will find the "proof" you are looking for.
***** I give sensible arguments and I'm the dumb one just because I don't believe the same thing you do. Wow. So if I give a valid argument that grass is green and you say it's blue it's ok for you to call me dumb just because I don't believe what you believe. Why don't you give me a sensible argument against my posts and then I will respond. If you don't then I just won't take you seriously and I will just ignore you. Because at the end of the day I will still be the one who is right.
200 years from now is roughly when Star Trek takes place. In Star Trek, people are no longer racist, homophobic, sexist xenophobic, nationalistic, bigoted, capitalistic, or greedy. Coincidentally, they are also *NOT RELIGIOUS*. Instead, they devote their lives to science, helping people, maintaining peace, and exploring new places and new ideas. I am atheist today in large part due to my early exposure to Star Trek TNG when I was little. I mean, you go back and watch that show. It presents the future in such a positive way that even without the advances in technology and whatnot, I'd want to live in that world as opposed to my own simply for the acceptance factor.
I mean, there are religious species in Star Trek, with Captain Sisko being the reluctant Prophet to the Bajorans. It's just that the "gods" pretty much invariably turned out to be advanced computers and aliens that were often trying to con their followers ("Why does God need a starship?), and all of those "gods" were as ants to the members of the Q Continuum, who are explicitly the ones who are responsible for the creation of all life in at least this galaxy. Actually, IIRC, the Klingon gods were never proven to be fake... mostly because they killed their own gods millennia ago, IIRC.
I will say I’m a proud Roman Catholic, went to Bible class most of my life. However, I respect everyone’s beliefs. I also do love some good jokes, hope everyone is having a good day.
Despite proclamations of the contrary in the constitution, it is essentially the very foundation of the country. This from the so called "land of the free" hahaha
I hid being an atheist for many years (the first few were in catholic school so I had to hide). I didn't tell my parents until I was well into college and they refused to believe me.
+Joe McKeown Sorry. No. You'd better lay off the holy wine too, just to be on the safe side. Bacon tastes nice though, especially on an egg sandwich, but too much tinned tomato means a knife and fork.
Coming out from the closet as an atheist? It's more the other way around here in Sweden. We had a new minister who had a background in one of those "charismatic churches", or crazy places as I'd like to call them, and it was a big thing and even a question about if she was appropriate for the job or not. It does show extreme poor judgement, in my humble opinion. The US is so backwards sometimes.
+Bibi Bernadi The question should be "why does Catholicism still exist?" Vatican city is an amazing compilation of art, if you were to even suggest to destroy it then you're no better than religious people. I've seen it with my own eyes, and it would grieve me something awful if we denied that kind of beauty to future generations.
You're second last sentence was really well put. I often find it difficult to explain to people the difference between laws in a physics sense, and laws in a sense of crime etc. They are descriptions, not rules. Thanks man Ill use that sentence a lot from now on IRL haha
I really like those magnetic bumper stickers on the backs of cars...you know, the one with a fish.. that has feet with the letters DARWIN in the center...gets me every time XD
You can get out of the catholic church, you just really have to want it & work at it. I got myself excommunicated. It took me a while & I had to be persistent but I am now in the eyes of the catholic church no longer catholic! :) There is an app you can get from the apple app store that even guides you if you want the assistance :)
I think he'd be upset but like Dara O'Briain said, you'd merely be a "bad catholic" for kicking him in the balls. Oh and the Swiss Guard in their campy Michelangelo uniforms might "teach you a lesson". This will help you get excommunicated if you're wanting to know: atheism.about.com/od/ideasforatheistactivism/a/Excommunication.htm
***** The Jesus of the bible never truly existed. Sure there were guys named Jesus from that time period but none were the biblical Jesus. There was an archaeologist who read the writings of about 125 authors from the first to third centuries. IF the Jesus from the Bible truly existed, he would be well known as the bible itself claimed, right? Apparently not. Only ONE author even mentioned a Jesus and that author's writings were controlled and owned by the church. Those writings weren't written until AFTER Jesus supposedly existed. On top of that, it took the church a few centuries before they even revealed the existence of those writings.
I don't understand peoples blind faith in religion, is it that Important to people that there's an after life that they have to delude themselves into believing in one, there is no greater purpose or reward at the end. We're born we live we die, that's it, get over it.
That's taking a very narrow view. Personally when I think of death I can't even think of the complete silence and black that there would be. Try to think of it yourself
There is no complete silence and black you just don't exist anymore. There is nothing there because there's no more you. Souls don't exist, you're memories and emotions are in you're body and when you die they are gone.
+Adam Mahler Yeah I thought the same way till I read a comment that said death would be allot like before you were born and it got me thinking...like allot and now I don't know what to believe if anything anymore.
Giggs's #1 fan Pandora Brown Jarrod Watson All I am saying is that as a Catholic and a human being it is unfathomable for me to imagine absolutely nothing I understand the logical explanations that you don't have a brain, but how do you explain consciousness, sleep, or even how us as humans and only us fully developed to have languages of many variety do I think the story of the tower of Babel was true likely it was not but this also brings up the question of creation and here's a great theory. (1) Earth wasn't created in 7 literal days, but the events that created earth were at the beginning of time. (2) After many years the second story of creation picks up after we have evolved to be humans. (3) Adam meant Man and Eve meant Woman meaning that there were likely many people.(4) The shortening of life by God was likely the addition of Gene mutations and diseases.(5) There is a mound which has been dated back to when the Ark of the Covenant was built and included fossilized dung from a variety of animals, and they also found Pitch along with Anchor stones which helped it flood. (6) Every religion in history has a story of a flood.
Once you accept there is no god, life is random, there is no meaning to life and it's alright to say "I don't know". The truth will set you free and you can live happily.
+Simas Tekorius I knew someone would ask this question . Ofcourse there is personal meaning to someones life. I meant there is no meaning from a science. It is what it is. Things in our universe randomly happened. The earth isn't here because there is a master plan.
So goes the axiom, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Proof, by definition, is that which is made evident, or obvious, to the observer. The believer in "god" can not prove anything to you. You can not prove anything to the believer in "god". Reasons and testimonials can be shared as to why one is swayed to believe a particular worldview over another, but this is where the line is drawn. What is convincing is determined by the individual observer.
Noal Zimmerman not true. It is the evidence that can be shared between individuals that has value, or that each individual can experience in the exact same way under the same conditions... science is a great method. I can believe I see unicorns and they are real. My world view is meaningless if I can't do more than just express my opinion.
Keith Cooper “There were a few people I hadn’t heard before...”. This implies there were some that you had heard before, but let’s do math. 1, 2 , 3, yes only three comedians on this video which represents a few. What you should have said is I never heard from any of the comedians in this video.
I was always Agnostic and in 2019 I became an Atheist ... I think it's a great achievement in your life when you can realise & accept the facts and reality of the world.
All right look. There is an invisible man hidding in clouds, why wolud he hide if his invisible. You behave bad he sends you to hell to burn forever until the end of time, but he loves you. What is his defenition of love?
First, God is not hiding in the clouds. Second, he doesn't send you to hell if you are bad. He gives you the choice to live with him in heaven (and he wants you to go to heaven), but if you don't love him, he won't force you to be with him. Hell is the the absence of God and all good. Lastly, it wouldn't be real love if we were forced to to love God. God bless
Comedians are not the only ones who think that religion sucks. Everyone with a brain does the same. It's just that comedians are good with words. That's what makes them funny, and good at ridiculing religious belief. That and they see the truth.
religion is to a comedian, what bullets are to the army :) its best thing that ever happened for their profession! think about it, your whole job is based around mocking people and making others laugh, and there are people walking around fully believing in talking animals, unicorns witches demons and dragons. its a comedy goldmine.
I'm an atheist, not by choice, but through honesty and acknowledgement. You can't choose what you believe, you can only choose to accept what you believe, or lie. I think there are a lot of 'religous' people out there that only need to take a moment and be honest with themselves, and acknowledge that the idea of any deity isn't something they do believe in, but rather something they'd like to.
You're an athiest by default, it doesn't take any acknowledgement as far as I'm aware. Everyone is an athiest if you think about it because even those that do believe in A God, reject all the other ones for the same reasons we don't believe in any. That's how I see it anyway
Nepu-Tech USA I can't choose to believe in God, I can only choose to pretend to. I can pray before every meal, go to church every Sunday, preach the Bible, but if I'm truly honest with myself I just don't believe it. If I'm wrong and there is a God (which I doubt) then you're right, he made me this way and thus has sentenced me to eternal torture based on his decision. Doesn't sound like an all loving entity to me, but it's irrelevant because there is no reason to think that the Christian God (or any of the thousands of others) exists.
Nepu-Tech USA absolutely, I don't think religion is necessary at all for a person to be moral, in fact I would argue that an atheists morals are more pure because they come from an innate empathy for others rather than following a set of rules under fear of eternal torture.
After 14yrs incarcerated at that most ridiculous institution called "church",(by mom) the choice was mine to return. Never set foot in another one, declared my atheism & still feel 200% lighter 😀 I was the lil kid asking too many smart questions, which of course has no smart replies, they just keep saying "because it just is" 😂😂😂
Hell will have the best people. Heaven will have boring people that did nothing. Hell will be full of scientists and comediants. Hell is the shit. Plus, if Satan is the bad guy, why would he punish us for doing the bad for him?
I hung around with Norse pagans in Germany. I was very disappointed to discover they were largely the same virtue signalling, judgemental, hypocritical, divisive pratts I've met in all other religious groups.
+Gary Brocklehurst "What do you mean when you say ''beg the question for naturalism' can you explain further?" To beg the question means that the only reason you accept an argument is that you already agree with the conclusion. And so, for an example, if you already agree that religion is man-made, then you will put forth the claim that "Religions seek to answer existential questions" which implies the very thing you're supposed to be establishing (that it's man-made). It's kind of like saying "Toothpaste is a conspiracy. Because they use toothpaste to hurt people." "I'm saying that if one true faith exists it would be the only one of many that have and will exist." That's ridiculous. What's to stop other beliefs from being adopted and shared? Especially on Christianity, which *emphasizes* free will? "Until any tangible proof exists the most sensible position is atheism because all religions except perhaps one by sheer logic must be false." Atheism is not the belief that most religions are false. It's either a rejection of theism or a belief that theism is false.
No after you’re baptized they keep your records forever in the Catholic Church. That’s why the statistics of religious people are greatly exaggerated. Because the surveys show that we’re all catholic when not that many people believe in god. And you just keep doing the traditions you like, such as Christmas and Easter.
it wasnt my idea to be a catholic when i was born,.... ;but it was my decision to become free of bullshit from all religions when thinking took over my brain. i am much more at peace now knowing nobody will burn in hell for an indefinite period of time', although many would merrit this fate.
i love when humans think that they are better then each other ,people think that without religion life will better ,after all that's what we do ,Humans put the blame on other things for our mistakes ,Atheist blame religion and religion blame Atheism , ignorance is not from religion , ignorance is not from Atheism it's from us
Ted Guy Everytime I hear comments like that, I just want to scratch my eyes out so that I wouldn't see the ignorance of some people. Religion = an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to an order of existence. Atheism = lack of a belief in god(s). In other words: Religion = Set of specific beliefs - meaning that a person is required to believe specific things. Atheism = Lack of one specific belief - meaning that it doesn't tell you anything about person's actual beliefs. So yes, we can blame religion or some religions but that cannot be applied to atheism. If you want to bash some specific atheists, get another definition for that group. And we can blame religion for ignorance if it encourages and even requires people to be ignorant (like f.e. Christianity does). "Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." -Steven Weinberg
I am an atheist, but I acknowledge and accept that there is religion. This doesn't necessarily mean I blame every bad event on religion. Just one of the 4000 other religions that claim theirs is the only one, so in a weird way, religions become atheistic towards other religions, and as I understand history, that has been more detrimental to human beings than accepting that some people just need a mental crutch or don't care about old dogmatic rubbish that has no real impact anymore.
I'm Pagan (not sure why I capitalized it). If you ever want to find out the REAL origins of Christmas (not sure why that's capitalized, either), check out The History Channel's "The History of Christmas".
ozskipper well the solstice is a natural event with a fixed date, you could argue Christians stole the idea of worship on that date, but the solstice isn't something you come up with.
When young, I did a presentation at my Southern Baptist Church on where all the Christmas customs originated. People were not happy. Guess I should have figured out then that I was an atheist. But, I didn't know the word.
i am a loving helping people person, and ive been beaten and destroyed by life, there is know one out here in this life to save me so i fight with life to help others and make a better world, god wont help you only you have the power inside you.
You can say or admit to atheism now because it is less likely that you will be crucified or burnt at the stake for admitting to disbelief in divine entities.
Live and let live people. If someone believes in God, they are NOT doing anything to hurt you. You not believing in God isn't doing anything to hurt them either. Let people believe whatever they want and get over your own egos and hubris. When life is over, we will all learn the truth one way or another.
+TheMichaelAdlerCarey "Live and let live people. If someone believes in God, they are NOT doing anything to hurt you. You not believing in God isn't doing anything to hurt them either." I am not sure if you are from the United States, but that concept does not work. When you try to stop gay marriage because an imaginary friend told me through archaic scrolls, that is a problem. If you tell your children that when they see homosexuals, that they are an abomination to god, that is a problem. So NO. You can not let people live with bad ideas that gives justification to oppress others. So it is not about believing or not believing. It is about cruel actions whether it is physical or mental being justified by a faith that has no evidence to back up this existence of a god or gods.
Rogi Cizdima You forgot about the Paris attacks. Do not forget about the resistance for not giving out licenses for gay marriage even though it is a civil right.
Xanxei Well said. Thank you. They can't keep their monuments off of public land, although gawd knows there's plenty of church property that isn't taxed. And don't forget the witches persecuted and killed.
Ummmm how can you have a video about Comedians on Religion and not mention one of the greatest Anti-Religion comics ever. George Carlin in my option is the greatest Comedian and no one will ever get as good as he is, close maybe but not as good or beyond.
Yekkt Please: Tim MINCHIN, no "k". But I agree with you, especially Thank You God. The Pope Song is another goodie. He's in Australia now writing new music.
I'm happy to have waken up after blindingly following some invisible being that our priests keeps talking about, was a Christian more 21 years and that was my greatest regret.
I'm open to seeing this, but religion is what keeps me going, it makes me a better person than what I could've been, I rejected alcohol, drugs and sex because I have a very special relationship with the god that almost none of you people believe in
Jmw 20 see that’s good to you. I never had a connection with god when I was younger. I didn’t feel enlightened by god nothing I started to think that he could be real could not I thought honestly that we are all reincarnated. We have some kind of after life but I don’t think it’s a god or hell or heaven. I support your decision on believing in god for some people it’s life changing some it’s not sadly.
Well that's awesome for you, but faith has caused a lot of pain for people, simply because they don't have the same faith as another group. If you wanna live in a fantasy land that's fine, but if you honestly don't see the problems it has caused, you're either blind, or don't want to see it. And apathetic thought like that is why religious leaders get away with telling there followers to blow themselves up, stealing your money to line their own pockets, fucking children, and starting wars because someone thinks they're wrong.
Brian was a dog. He didn't really NEED to understand what makes faith so wonderful because God disabled all the animals from doing so. And God also takes the animals to Heaven when they die, so Brian has gone to Heaven. :)
23g6pyyw Interesting, because I was taught animals do NOT go to heaven when I was 5. Which is what started me on my road to atheism by age 11 despite religious schooling.
Kids are going to become Atheist on their own. For me it was growing up with comics/cartoon hero shows. In school learning about norse/greek mythology. Having all that in your head and admiring the stories than being told that Christianity is different. When it identifies across the board on all the levels.
It’s weird how being an atheist is something people are scared to admit in America as it seems so normal n the uk and most of the rest of Western Europe
Zwerchig Yeah but look at how many times they use this as the basis of their logic: "The bible is nonsense, so there's no God." To sum it up. Ricky Gervais' reasoning is especially ridiculous, basically he could tell from his mother's reaction that God wasn't real, that she was "hiding something"... Ummm I'm sure Mrs Gervais is a great person and all, but she does not know the secrets of the universe, he is really basing his atheistic viewpoint on his mother's response?... I'm not trying to convince anyone of what to believe really, just saying that some atheists have a strange way of looking at the topic. Basically the 2 main beliefs are: Christianity vs When you die you just rot and stay dead. It's really not that simple...
+CosmicUndeadElf It is actually quite simple - atheists believe or accept certain things to be true, because it is rational to do so. Any belief in something _with no rational basis_ is what we call 'faith' or religion (and possibly madness or gullibility). Atheists are essentially rationalists, religions aren't. Rationality is at the core of science too. Atheism and science are natural bedfellows. Zwerchig mentioned "There are many beliefs. Atheism is the lack of it." . That is pretty much true. More accurately , Atheism is the lack of _irrational_ belief.
Keith Shocked Well it's just when someone like Gervais talks about "God" they seem to automatically refer to the Christian version, and people will use the claims made in the bible as though they represent the entire concept. I guess that is because Christianity is probably the most dominant religion in the world.
Yes, for us here in the west, religion is the Abrahamic faiths generally, but specifically Christianity. We don't tend to give much time to African or Asian or Native American religion (to name only a few). I guess Gervais is just talking about what he was brought up with, which is understandable.
If God exists ? Then there must be a God for God ,,then a God for that God, and a God for that God and into infinity. This idea of Intelligent design is silly. For instance, people eat and breathe through the same tube and also die when the very food we need to survive gets stuck. Wouldnt it be intelligent to design a human who wont die when eating ? What about Cancer ? A body that kills itself doesnt sound like a good design,I mean it defeats the purpose of intelligent design right there. If God created us intelligently, then He did a bad job. So if God is fallible, then God is the same as us,so why worship another being ? Also each God that created a Fallible God is also not perfect. If you think your God is perfect, then read the Bible a few times and see all the angry Killing God does, even tortures an Infant for 7 days ! Sends fire serpents down to kill the Jews who complain about not having enough food in the wilderness. Makes a bet with Satan over Job ,allows Satan to Kill Jobs family, pets, flocks, covers him in boils and even destroys his home, and all to test Jobs faith. An Omnipotent God would already know if Job was faithful or not. God gives people free will,so they may use it as they please, but only likes it used his way. If you use it your way and dont worship him the way he wants, you die. Not just die,you suffer for eternity. God burned Sodom and Gomorrah down because they were wicked. But spared Lot and his family because instead of allowing his Angels to be raped by a rape gang,Lot offers up his virgin daughters instead to be raped by the mass of slobbering rapists. Lots very act to save them was evil in itself.Lot lived with his daughters their whole lives and the first thing he can think of is ,lets give them up for rape for these 2 strangers. BUT shouldnt God have already known who was Bad and who was Good ? And why kill so violently ? God creates from dust, why not just turn them to dust ? Seems excessive and a bit like God likes to kill and enjoys his revenge a bit too much. There are well over 100 examples of God killing in the bible and the death toll spans a single baby to global extermination. Jesus even comes to Earth sacrifices himself ,begs Gods mercy just before he dies, because he knows God will go batshit crazy on mankind and destroy them in a rage.
One sentence that you said automatically negates everything else you have already said, and anything you will say from this point out- "My opinion means nothing". Thank you for your time, and thank you for resolving a debate before things turned ugly.
What Ricky Gervais said about it being impossible to believe in something you don't is completely relatable to me. As someone who grew up as Roman Catholic and attended a UK all girls catholic school (where the headteacher was a nun), I tried to believe god I really did. Even when I reached the point where I knew I didn't believe, it was still difficult to fully admit it to myself and accept that I was an atheist. All this was made harder when I had to attend school mass and people (both students and teachers) tried to peer pressure me into taking communion but I refused to get up from my seat. At first I felt I couldn't accept it because I felt if by any chance there was a god, they would respect my decision not taking it just because people told me to as it wouldn't be genuine and I would be lying. When I finally was able to accept my atheism, it felt like a huge weight was lifted. When it came to communion I no longer felt any pressure and refused to pay attention to people looking at me like I had just pissed on their grandma. I started to encourage people around me to question their beliefs more and started to explore more of how my own family members thought about not only religion but spirituality. I was lucky enough to have a family which wasn't strict about religion but still suffered from the indoctrination of their youth (i.e. making sign of the cross when passing a church, no meat on Good Friday etc). The only people I really found to be heavily religious were my Nan but mostly her sister. I believe my granddad's hatred of organised religion has somewhat had an effect on my Nan over the years but her sister said she would leave the church if they made a black pope and used to wash her brother in law's cup with bleach because he was gay. being religious does not make you a good person. I believe that the same things that make you a good or bad person are the same things which cause you to cherry pick the good or bad parts of the bible. Sorry for the essay, I just wanted to share my story. If you've made it this far thanks for reading and I would be interested to hear your story if you have one. Have you experienced this yourself and how hard was it for you? Did your family disapprove? Etc.
There are also eyewitness accounts of people dying, going to heaven, and coming back. And many people with near-death experiences tell very consistent stories about what they experience
I’m a raised catholic doing some thinking looking into my faith seeing if I really agree with all of it. Some people on here talk about the catholic community as if it’s some sort of hate filled organisation, but I think anyone who has been a part of any sort of church community will know that just really isn’t the case, I can’t deny things that have happened in the past but as catholics we are told to forgive. I mean I don’t think all the teachings we are told exactly make us into horrible people, forgiving, loving, we aren’t told all the things written in the bible are true and we must live by and believe every letter of the book, we were straight up told that most of the bible is hardly reliable and what as catholics we should really only listen to what Jesus did, we ignored all the stuff that was hateful because it was not the work of God, it was the work of his followers. When people talk about how stupidly narrow minded religious people are, it’s extremely ironic as they talk about how against religious people are against atheists and in my experience doesn’t happen at all. Living in the UK being catholic is something I’ve hidden to most people I’ve met because of the prejudice surrounding it now a days. I’m not against other religions I don’t think that anyone that doesn’t believe in God is wrong it’s their own decision and I’m not going to force it upon them, other religions have Gods too and I think that we look to the same but we see differently. Some people who are ‘atheists’ seem to think that they are some sort of philosophical genius that has worked out the universe, I’m not saying I have or anyone has, because really we are nothing we have no idea what truly lies beyond our solar system which is nothing in comparison the universe. I still believe in God at the moment I don’t believe he is controlling everything that happens on earth, instead he judges and decides whether we lived a good life or not and we have our bodies that he gave us and our free will to accept him or reject him and that is our ticket into the life beyond our tiny earth.
I know this is late but damn this is just Well said! 👏 I’m a Catholic too and I especially agree with those last few sentences about how God doesn’t control our world but only judges us at the end of our lives. I really Hope you didn’t lose your faith

I spent lunch with a group of female artists who were talking about alternative therapies. I politely pointed out that no alternative therapy has been found to be effective when properly examined in double-blind tests. One insisted she had been helped by Chiropractic. I told her I had researched when looking into help for my own back problem and that it cannot work. She said it helped her and another woman asked for the name of her practitioner. Anecdotal evidence trumps science? I despair.
Most of us in the UK are irreligious. Many of us are spiritual, and many have beliefs, but they are based upon reality, not fairy stories about an imaginary friend. As Ricky has said, we believe in one less God .
As an atheist I don't share the view that religion will disappear in 200 years or that people will just 'wake up' from it. People find comfort in it for whatever reason, they always will and the best we can hope is that these people will just learn to keep it to themselves.
Humanity went from the first manned flight to stepping on the moon in just under 70 years. If the Internet continues to spread and information remains unrestricted then judged by the rise of secularism both online and offline over the last decade religion will become a shadow of what it once was in 200 years.
@@GoldFaceFella so a atheist, doesn’t believe in god. Negative belief or positive belief, it’s still belief. And both religious or atheist don’t REALLY know, and not knowing is the problem.

Priest and an athiest are debating about the existence of God. After a while the priest gets annoyed and says "You don't know what you're talking about! You're like a blindfolded man in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there." The atheist laughs and says" Well then we have something in common." And the priest says "What could we possibly have in common?" The atheist replies "I also think you're like a blindfolded man in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there. Except you found it."

Actually I really liked Ricky's point:
"If there IS a god, why did he make me an atheist?"
Because God gave people free will, that's the whole point.
We have the option to choose what we want to do and say, because we have free will.
+i_Phantoms_ How does the concept of hell in any way contradict free will? saying that there are different things that happen to people after they die only implies that there are different consequences to people's different exercises of free will, not that they don't have that free will.
+FaithsStardust That's a contradiction. If god knows all, can do all, and know THE FUTURE... Then there is NO free will.
***** you said in your second comment "We don't have free will in the bible." because god supposedly sends people to hell. are you conceding you were wrong about the free will thing?
Blocky Orbits God knowing things and being capable of things does not necessitate that he controls things.
I love when people tell me ''Oh well can YOU disprove god?''

''Can you disprove god??''
Well can you disprove superman?
Probably not, but you know he doesn't exist!
Prove me wrong."
I should say: "There is a teapot orbiting earth! Here is the proof it exists.".
Completely truee!

Ask them to prove they're really here, instead of being plugged into the Matrix imagining they're here.

Mephostopheles summed up beautifully!

Mephostopheles So well said, couldn't agree more
Ya, we all choose to be influenced by gravity. Some don't, though.
I just don't understand why choosing to be an atheist is a problem anyway. I've reviewed the evidence available to me and do not believe in God. It's not like you look at the evidence and then say "well the whole thing is bullshit but I want to believe in God" then you automatically believe in God

MicmacGames by opened mind do you mean believe things without evidence
I agree. Anti-theism needs to go just like religious extremism needs to go.
And yes, 'The Flying Spaghetti Monster', believing in things without evidence is not automatically a bad thing! Evidentialism is dead. It is not only an invalid but a *self-refuting* worldview:
MicmacGames men are too scared of another men having a bigger dick than them so they go to war for it
+Vic 2.0wow!
If your wife is not a virgin on her wedding day, stone her to death
All these hateful verses and actions under religious rationale were what led me to ask this: "maybe there isnt a god". Then i looked at scientific evidence and said "i can confirm that there wasnt a god to begin with". Im now an atheist and fully against religious oppression.
***** scientific reasoning.
Science has not proven the existence of any god or any astral being capable of "creating time and space"

william delgadillo Because no deity has ever presented itself to mankind. Not one deity. If I were a god I would at least pop my head out of a cloud now and then.
william delgadillo What evidence is there that Jesus Christ ever existed? None! Not one thing!

the stone that covered the tomb and also has piece of the iron
like i said you need to look for them instead of just saying theirs no evidence without even doing some research
william delgadillo Thats not evidence.
Christians could make the same argument.
Joseph Nixon No they can't. But nice troll attempt.
I think he's probably both. The two go well together.
Star Trek is retarded, chump
I mean, there are religious species in Star Trek, with Captain Sisko being the reluctant Prophet to the Bajorans. It's just that the "gods" pretty much invariably turned out to be advanced computers and aliens that were often trying to con their followers ("Why does God need a starship?), and all of those "gods" were as ants to the members of the Q Continuum, who are explicitly the ones who are responsible for the creation of all life in at least this galaxy.
Actually, IIRC, the Klingon gods were never proven to be fake... mostly because they killed their own gods millennia ago, IIRC.

Daughter Of God Why? Jesus never existed in the first place....
***** So yes, I am serious. The bible is the ONLY text that prominently talks about Jesus.
+Adam Mahler I am merely the same as I was before conception.. did not exist. I thought of it.

All I am saying is that as a Catholic and a human being it is unfathomable for me to imagine absolutely nothing I understand the logical explanations that you don't have a brain, but how do you explain consciousness, sleep, or even how us as humans and only us fully developed to have languages of many variety do I think the story of the tower of Babel was true likely it was not but this also brings up the question of creation and here's a great theory.
+WinslowSly1 w8, did i missunderstand something? *there is no meaning to life* was this sarcasm? explain plz.
+Simas Tekorius I knew someone would ask this question . Ofcourse there is personal meaning to someones life. I meant there is no meaning from a science. It is what it is. Things in our universe randomly happened. The earth isn't here because there is a master plan.
Indeed.
+WinslowSly1 There isn't even personal meaning.
+Simas Tekorius what is the meaning to life then???😂😂 there's isn't one
The talking snake gets me everytime 😁
Consequentially.
Smarter people tend to be atheists.
The burden I proof is not on me to disprove god. It is on you to prove god.
Ever heard of science?
@@thechannelthatwearsflannel2571 Eyewitness testimony, the lowest form of scientific evidence.
Unless of course, we don't care whether you believe or not...
nicely done, keep these coming. as an ex- religious person these are brilliant. look at Jim Jeffries.
These were great! Thanks for posting! There were a few people I hadn't heard before so thanks for opening my eyes to new comedians and atheists!
So you believe in the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything got it 😂
If you want the truth, just listen to a comedian.
God bless
Lol thanks for the enlightenment there george
Who ever said anything pertaining to hiding in the clouds? I've never heard that he is invisible either.
Two words for you:
Jim Jeffries. He's on youtube, and all the ridiculous seriousness about religion will go away when you watch
Comedians are not the only ones who think that religion sucks. Everyone with a brain does the same. It's just that comedians are good with words. That's what makes them funny, and good at ridiculing religious belief. That and they see the truth.
religion is to a comedian, what bullets are to the army :)
its best thing that ever happened for their profession!
think about it, your whole job is based around mocking people and making others laugh, and there are people walking around fully believing in talking animals, unicorns witches demons and dragons.
its a comedy goldmine.
Thanks, Raptor Jesus!
I don't believe religion is their best weapon, I've seen countless great comedians do stand up without ever mentioning religion's
J Axis indeed, but if they're out of ideas religion is always there! ;)
True
Nah, 2nd best thing. The best thing that happened to comedians, was the election and re-election of George W Bush. :)
+Brendan Linnell Wow that's deep man, but I think we have a choice because otherwise God would pick who goes where before we are born
Brendan Linnell
I guess what I mean is choosing between doing good or bad? even if you don't believe in anything you can choose between those
Nepu-Tech USA absolutely, I don't think religion is necessary at all for a person to be moral, in fact I would argue that an atheists morals are more pure because they come from an innate empathy for others rather than following a set of rules under fear of eternal torture.
After 14yrs incarcerated at that most ridiculous institution called "church",(by mom) the choice was mine to return. Never set foot in another one, declared my atheism & still feel 200% lighter 😀 I was the lil kid asking too many smart questions, which of course has no smart replies, they just keep saying "because it just is" 😂😂😂
wanna see something funny, watch the woman in the front row at 3:57 do an under the radar double fist celebration.
Nice observation. Lollish
I didn't see that the first time at all~
so i guess hell is going to be full of comedians.
Hell it is then. Screw the boring heaven.
Basically just full of intelligent people.
Hell will have the best people. Heaven will have boring people that did nothing. Hell will be full of scientists and comediants. Hell is the shit. Plus, if Satan is the bad guy, why would he punish us for doing the bad for him?
+Vlad Lucian - exactly. satan punishing anyone would make him god's bitch. god can do his own work...
I'd rather be Norse Pagan than Christian. Hey when you die you go to Valhalla with Beer, Women and Brave warriors. :)
I hung around with Norse pagans in Germany. I was very disappointed to discover they were largely the same virtue signalling, judgemental, hypocritical, divisive pratts I've met in all other religious groups.
No Norse god has ever revealed themselves, so they aren't real.
+Gary Brocklehurst "What do you mean when you say ''beg the question for naturalism' can you explain further?"
To beg the question means that the only reason you accept an argument is that you already agree with the conclusion. And so, for an example, if you already agree that religion is man-made, then you will put forth the claim that "Religions seek to answer existential questions" which implies the very thing you're supposed to be establishing (that it's man-made). It's kind of like saying "Toothpaste is a conspiracy. Because they use toothpaste to hurt people."
"I'm saying that if one true faith exists it would be the only one of many that have and will exist."
That's ridiculous. What's to stop other beliefs from being adopted and shared? Especially on Christianity, which *emphasizes* free will?
"Until any tangible proof exists the most sensible position is atheism because all religions except perhaps one by sheer logic must be false."
Atheism is not the belief that most religions are false. It's either a rejection of theism or a belief that theism is false.
Can't get out of the Catholic Church lol did you try not showing up?
John Doe "You'll merely be regarded as a BAD Catholic." Dara Ó Briain is absolutely spot on.
No after you’re baptized they keep your records forever in the Catholic Church. That’s why the statistics of religious people are greatly exaggerated. Because the surveys show that we’re all catholic when not that many people believe in god. And you just keep doing the traditions you like, such as Christmas and Easter.
it wasnt my idea to be a catholic when i was born,.... ;but it was my decision to become free of bullshit from all religions when thinking took over my brain. i am much more at peace now knowing nobody will burn in hell for an indefinite period of time', although many would merrit this fate.
fuck. i don't want to wait two hundred years until this harmful myths are gone by themselves.
Do you have a workable plan to get rid of religion?
I realized this now. I will never get to experience a world without religion. FUCK
Jakob Horseng
lets hope our great grand kids do get that experience
Don't worry Lillian. You won't have to wait 200 years. You'll be dead long before that.
you're beying optimistic, this thing its beying on for a while
i love when humans think that they are better then each other ,people think that without religion life will better ,after all that's what we do ,Humans put the blame on other things for our mistakes ,Atheist blame religion and religion blame Atheism , ignorance is not from religion , ignorance is not from Atheism it's from us
Ted Guy Everytime I hear comments like that, I just want to scratch my eyes out so that I wouldn't see the ignorance of some people.
Religion = an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to an order of existence.
Atheism = lack of a belief in god(s).
In other words:
Religion = Set of specific beliefs - meaning that a person is required to believe specific things.
+Ted Guy Science flies you to the moon; religion flies you into buildings. Any questions?
I am an atheist, but I acknowledge and accept that there is religion. This doesn't necessarily mean I blame every bad event on religion. Just one of the 4000 other religions that claim theirs is the only one, so in a weird way, religions become atheistic towards other religions, and as I understand history, that has been more detrimental to human beings than accepting that some people just need a mental crutch or don't care about old dogmatic rubbish that has no real impact anymore.
What is the difference between jesus and an image of jesus that is hanged on a wall?
The picture requires only one nail
Beautiful day when you can be whatever the faak u choose to be 💯
I'm Pagan (not sure why I capitalized it). If you ever want to find out the REAL origins of Christmas (not sure why that's capitalized, either), check out The History Channel's "The History of Christmas".
Yep.. the christians stole just about every tradition pagans have. Even the date of the Solstice
ozskipper well the solstice is a natural event with a fixed date, you could argue Christians stole the idea of worship on that date, but the solstice isn't something you come up with.
ozskipper
I agree with the sentiment but that's like saying Newton *invented* gravity.
Want the true picture of who you really are, and what your here for, sounds like you are, search Neville Goddard here on UA-cam
Basically everyone in the world has broken the ten commandments so everyone is going to hell.
You can say or admit to atheism now because it is less likely that you will be crucified or burnt at the stake for admitting to disbelief in divine entities.
Don't! Just don't waste your time in the comments. You have better things to do.
Proud to say I am my families "Bob". Lost count of the number of times I've been asked/told to shut up.
Live and let live people. If someone believes in God, they are NOT doing anything to hurt you. You not believing in God isn't doing anything to hurt them either. Let people believe whatever they want and get over your own egos and hubris.
When life is over, we will all learn the truth one way or another.
+TheMichaelAdlerCarey
"Live and let live people. If someone believes in God, they are NOT doing anything to hurt you. You not believing in God isn't doing anything to hurt them either."
I am not sure if you are from the United States, but that concept does not work.
Rogi Cizdima
You forgot about the Paris attacks. Do not forget about the resistance for not giving out licenses for gay marriage even though it is a civil right.
+Rogi Cizdima Religion doesn't harm others? The frickin Crusades did happen you know?
They didn't tell people what to believe and what not. They simply made fun of religions because they are freaking hilarious in 21st century.
Xanxei Well said. Thank you. They can't keep their monuments off of public land, although gawd knows there's plenty of church property that isn't taxed. And don't forget the witches persecuted and killed.
God doesn’t make anyone an atheist. Facts make people atheists.
He didn't make you an atheist,
You chose.
+TukenNuken He don't think at all.
"He" doesn't exist.
I learned.
TukenNuken causal fallacy detected. My comment makes perfect sense
+John Waas my dog thinks chasing it's tail makes perfect sense too ..xD
A baby isn't born believing in Jesus either
Great selection but too short. Thanks for sharing.
Thank God i'm a Muslim.
I thank god I'm an atheist
Thats Allah you trolling sectarian shitsocket
well why not?
素敵強い 立派 you suck at trolling hagega
😂
There may be a god or there might not be. I don't know and neither does anyone else.
Tom White nah my brossa God exist that’s a fact.
John Oliveira Amen!
Ummmm how can you have a video about Comedians on Religion and not mention one of the greatest Anti-Religion comics ever. George Carlin in my option is the greatest Comedian and no one will ever get as good as he is, close maybe but not as good or beyond.
vlover1500 Late But Well Said George Carlin is the Greatest Comedian to ever Live not the Second
Mohmd Sahmarani no doubt no one with a brain can argue
Benjamin Holladay I agree
YOU made yourself a better person - pity you did it because of a lie
Which of the 3000 gods do you refer to? Jehovah ordered the rape and murder of children. Is that the one?
Wait, what? So Brian hasn't gone to heaven? FUUUUUUUUUUUU
Brian was a dog. He didn't really NEED to understand what makes faith so wonderful because God disabled all the animals from doing so. And God also takes the animals to Heaven when they die, so Brian has gone to Heaven. :)
23g6pyyw ...and when you're up there, keep an eye out for the majestic pink unicorns and flying teapots.
23g6pyyw
Can't deny you have a vivid imagination, thanks for sharing ;)
Relax, he's alive now.
23g6pyyw Interesting, because I was taught animals do NOT go to heaven when I was 5. Which is what started me on my road to atheism by age 11 despite religious schooling.
God is made by (a)men
It’s Unfortunate. God is simply the Existence of Love
Everybody Believes Love Exists
Atheists Unnecessarily Overcomplicate it.
It’s a Shame
Kids are going to become Atheist on their own. For me it was growing up with comics/cartoon hero shows. In school learning about norse/greek mythology. Having all that in your head and admiring the stories than being told that Christianity is different. When it identifies across the board on all the levels.
i find the idea of an almighty and all knowing god very creepy
Agreed, like Santa used to scare the shit out of me while a child
hit like if you are an athiest
I'm an atheist, but you get a dislike.
I’ve never understood how adults can believe in god I just don’t get it
I’m an atheist too but I can understand that some ppl just need something to believe in to help them cope with life
It’s weird how being an atheist is something people are scared to admit in America as it seems so normal n the uk and most of the rest of Western Europe
I still don't get this whole Atheism vs Christianity thing, there are more beliefs than those 2.
+CosmicUndeadElf There are many beliefs. Atheism is the lack of it.
God is eternal and outside of time therefore there is nothing before God.
if he is outside time how do you know he exists? oh and by the way prove any of that shit you said
One sentence that you said automatically negates everything else you have already said, and anything you will say from this point out- "My opinion means nothing".
Shut up I’ve read five of your stupid ass comments, your fucking brain dead, eye witness accounts, wow your thicker than I thought
Seth Macfarlane dated Emilia Clarke...He’s the luckiest first man on earth.
Being funny and making a girl laugh is the key my fellows Seth Macfarlane is the perfect example lmao😂
I despair.
Belief is something that's ingrained in so many and to believe it'll go away is a dream.. unfortunately
It doesn’t matter if someone is religious or atheist. Both sides are on the same boat. They both believe in something they don’t know.
Umm no. Atheism isn’t a belief. It’s a lack of belief in a god.
@@GoldFaceFella so a atheist, doesn’t believe in god. Negative belief or positive belief, it’s still belief.
And both religious or atheist don’t REALLY know, and not knowing is the problem.
Can't get brian out my head when listening to Seth
i feel worse when i listen to a preacher then before i started. actually i feel better, after a few moments i realize, well that's bs, and then go on my own to have a great day.
if god is there when i wake up from death great if not i did my best to find and please god.
Priest and an athiest are debating about the existence of God. After a while the priest gets annoyed and says "You don't know what you're talking about! You're like a blindfolded man in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there."
The atheist laughs and says" Well then we have something in common." And the priest says "What could we possibly have in common?" The atheist replies "I also think you're like a blindfolded man in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there. Except you found it."
No ones ever gonna see this but I wish people were still open minded and not so sensitive in our day of age.
at 2:26 with ricky garvais, technically his mother didn't lie just wrong. Lying is to purposely give false information, she wasn't lying because she believed it was right.
+James R lol thanks I guess.
Actually you are wrong. The entire point was that she knew it was false otherwise it wouldn't even make sense.
James R wrong, she knew it was a lie, that's the whole point...
Who doesn’t like this? These guys are funny, poking fun at religion 😁
"It's about fu*king time!" Applause!
To me, it's finding piece with yourself. I'm a Christian, and I find piece through relegion, but I also respect other peoples beliefs. It just sucks that Christianity has such a bad reputation
Well, they have that awful book with that Jehovah monster who ordered the rape and murder of children, so it is an uphill battle.
It's an earned reputation.
