Kaplan recognized John Graff as Graff’s daughter was 17 at the time of her death and Kaplan would have been her teacher at the local high school. Kaplan would have meet Graff during parent teacher conferences. Also I find hard to believe that photo of Graff can’t be found. They couldn’t have gotten his drivers license photo from the New Jersey department of motor vehicles? Or I remember Dean or Theodora suggesting Dean describe John to a forensic sketch artist. They could have had the sketch made then go to Kaplan and ask him if he recognized the man in the sketch. Like I mentioned earlier Kaplan would be one of the very few who would actually recognize John Graff as he would have taught his daughter. Pearl is the only other one who would probably recognize Graff as she lived in the neighborhood when the murders happened.
Well John graff burned all his pictures . They owners said they can get a sketch of him but some how I guess the cops didn’t wanna do that . I feel like the whole Town knew something ,but don’t want it to get out . I feel like everyone is the watchee even the previous owners that lived there . Like the private detective. She said she was the watcher but she was only the watcher for the owners that just moved there . The new owners . But them letters been sending sense the 70s so it couldn’t have been her then .
You should check out the story of John List, Graff is losely based on him but i wish they had followed it a bit closer for the show because it would have been more interesting
I think The Watcher was the Westfield Preservation Society, mainly Pearl and John, but with Jasper's help occasionally. They probably terrorize any owner that wants to change the house in any way, or that is not "nice" or "neighborly" enough.
The Watcher must surely be that mysterious figure (21:13), and the fact that its identity was never revealed is what makes the ending such a cliffhanger. Can't wait for season 2 to come out to hopefully resolve the mystery. But the killing of the dog (or the ferret for that matter) was unnecessary to include in the plot.
Call me old fashioned but the only thing I really took away from this show was how much they were trying to push the fact that age of consent in that state was 17 or something. Always rubbed me the wrong way.
They didn’t try to push anything tbh it’s just the law. It sucks, it should be changed but they didn’t push anything. Its just the law where the story takes place
I tbink the bases in true events thing is what I’d holding this show back. Maybe 10 episodes is too much too. But I think if it Weren’t based on “true events” people would suspend their disbelief a lot more and enjoy it

I liked the mystery. I think they made everyone to creepy and suspicious.
Really? I mean yeah. It seem like everyone is just antagonizing the Branocks.
I personally enjoyed it too. I loved all the mysteries and tension such as Nora believing Dean was having an affair and the watcher mystery.
Yeah, it was fun! I don't know though if I want to see Dean and Nora again, or a new slew of characters in the next season...

I loved it and am looking forward to the next season.
Yeah, it was solid. I'm ready!
There isnt gonna be one cus they got nothing to base it on cus the real watcher was nvr cost
@@Fear_boat they've already confirmed it
great video! i started the series and didn't really feel like finishing it but still wanted to know what happened, so thanks!
If they had just thrown the letters in the garbage nothing would have changed.

You would be correct!
I’m just happy that in 2025…disappointingly season 2 will come out.
I feel like it’s Dakota there never anything going when he’s recently been in a scene and he likes ellie

Yeah, the show is a little pervy and then they kinda just gloss over the fact that Ellie and Dakota are in a relationship... pervy
