We didn't start with $1000 , We started with $50. We now have 1200 items listed and made $1600 last month.
Of course u don’t need $1,000 to start. Who has a grand set aside for thrifting anyway?
@@ndbobby1 Much of the advice on these channels is pretty odd . The tax advice is the worse .
Of course that’s possible, but just think how quicker you could of got to 1200 items if you started with $1000 dollars, that’s his point 😊
Woww Ralli roots was there for me when Covid hit.. I was laid off and between Ralli roots, Lavender clothesline and Ashley rose, I was able to sell at EBay on July 29th 2020, it started off slow and I am doing good now in April 2021🥰

You all are AWESOME. I've been selling on and off on eBay for about 20 yrs., I'm older and yes, I can always learn something new. Your shoe placement for taking pic., fantastic!! Agree use as many item specifics as you can but it's so ridiculous what eBay wants, many categories Do Not Apply and that's what I put, I try to never leave any empty. Great video.
White poster board, I can do that! Lol. Background remover, and at least 4 pics, but 8 to 12 are better.
Free shipping that includes the cost into the list price! Perfect it just makes sense, perfect!
The free-shipping decision is a little more complicated now, because... Ebay now requires charging and withholding sales tax for sale. Sales tax is charged on the item price and NOT on the shipping (because shipping is a service, not a good). So that means if you wrap the shipping cost into the item price and list with "free shipping," the buyer now has to pay sales tax on the shipping. Since buyers can sort listing by price including shipping, if you are on par with another seller for total cost to buyer, but you have "free shipping" and the other seller has a lower item price plus shipping, a smart buyer will go with the other seller to pay less in sales tax. I agree there is still the psychological perk to the buyer to see "free shipping"... But due to sales tax (and also with the end of the "ebay bucks" program), the decision isn't as cut-and-dry.

I started with storage units, and some thrift store stuff. I made quite a lot from storage units. I think what people need to remember about storage units is it is a lot a lot a lot of work. There is a lot of garbage too. You have to figure in the cost of disposal of the garbage. Storage units do not allow you to throw trash into the garbage. Strangely, people store garbage. Oh, but there is money in those units.
for sure for sure, there's definitely money in them, we've bought a bunch ourselves, I just feel there's better ways for people to start out.

The numbers are what counts! Or it’s just a hobby. 5x20=100. Simple but it will take time to do that so good idea to keep it simple and realistic. Thanks. Fees and shipping and cost of item plus taxes, are important. I’ve learned so much from watching you and Allie and this video was a good all over beginner video in one place! Perfect. This was my second watch! Extra comments for fun! Learn and take notes, by the way I have a notebook, too, lots of great tips from Ralli Roots in that notebook!

Question: how do you get buyers to leave feedback?! I have a very small "side hussle" of selling a few things on ebay. I mostly just list them for buy-it-now or best-offer and forget it until they sell. (All of my ebay listed items fits in one tote box so that's where I keep them until they sell and it's time to ship!) I include a thank you note and ask for a review/feedback. And almost never does a buyer leave feedback.
I feel like eBay should incentivize buyers leaving feedback, because that would help everyone in the long run (including help ebay by promoting more buyer confidence in sellers and thus more sales), but now that ebay has done away with the chump-change "ebay bucks" program, any other small monetary incentive program is probably not going to happen.

Can’t wait!! I opened an eBay account three days ago. Listed a few items but haven’t published. I’m confused about the shipping and if I should do return shipments.
You probably put a certain date an time till the items are listed and shipping depends on the weight on the item then u can put if u pay shipping or the buyer pays in the selection
Are you with paypal or managed payments?
You won't have a choice but to take returns.seasoned buyers know how to get a refund and a free item.ebay always favors the buyer.expect to lose money at first..it's trial and error.

Anyway, the package is nowhere to be found. I'm out over $159 😒 yes, there's insurance but the usps doesn't make it easy. How does a package just vanish?
