Panty hose won't keep the DE dust from the internals of the vacuum cleaner. It would be like putting up a chain link fence to keep out mosquitoes. Instead, use a shop vac. If you find you have bed bugs, now would be a good time to paint.

I used my normal vacuum cleaner to clean the DE from my carpet.It spoiled my filter... so using a panty hose on the vacuum cleaner tube as shown in this video, would it prevent the DE reaching my vacuum's filter...?
But wouldn’t putting pantyhose over tube prevent u from sucking them up? U want them to be sucked into the dirt cup I sprinkle a little DE in vacuum cup before vacuuming so the minute I start vacuuming if I suck any up they will land right in the DE and then I take vacuum outside and dump dirt cup in the trash
Ha! A week? How about 8 hours. I’ve caught some in a plastic container that I sprinkled DE in. It took approximately 8/9 hours for them to die. About 6 for them to stop moving.
Cherry Lynn You also ensured they can't walk around. Indeed they die quickly when they're stuck in a container with it. However, if it took 8 hours for them to die without being mobile, imagine how long it could take if they just scampered through a small amount. They will eventually die. But it definitely is not an overnight cure.
