Guys this works. I don't know where in the heck mine came from, but I sprinkled A LOT of baking soda all over my mattress and carpets. Took my sheets, blankets and pillows to the laundromat and dried them on high heat for half hour. Heat kills them. Now for home in addition to the baking soda I got clove oil and orange oil. Clove oil draws them out, they don't like the strong smell. Ididn't mind the smell. So get two spray bottles from the dollar store, fill one halfway or a quarter of the way with cove oil and the other with orange oil. Add water to both and shake before each use to mix the oil and water so it's easier to spray and lasts longer. Now clove oil spray the corners of your room, around...not in electrical sockets, corners of your mattress where they love to hide, on the legs/ feet of your bed and baseboards. The orange oil n water mixture is to kill them almost instantly, if your infestation is that bad after spraying the clove oil you will see them. I got those damn bugs at the very beginning when I first got bit so there couldn't have been many at all so I never saw them, but the bites hurt and lasted a while as I am allergic. I got bit twice before I realized it was them. Didn't have any further bites after that first use of baking soda, cove oil n orange oil. I sprayed orange oil on my comforter even tho I didn't see any plus it smells nice, but it made me feel better lol. Now if your infestation is bad which it seems like it from the posts I am reading, you will need to take your pillows, blankets and sheets you sleep on and go to the laundromat ASAP. I suggest doing this first thing in the morning so you have the rest of the day to treat your home. PUT THEM IN TRASH BAGS TIED TIGHT, NO HOLES! You don't want them loose in your vehicle. Use as many plastic bags as you need just make sure you throw the plastic bags out after you get to the laundromat. Straight into the washer then dryer and use NEW plastic bags to put them in after they are dry and leave them in your car. DO NOT bring them back in just yet. Pillows can just go straight into the dryer for 30 minutes on high heat. Any decorative pillows that cannot withstand high heat need to go in the dumpster outside not inside your house. You can always buy more. Then go home that morning, get the clove oil mixture together and start spraying away, then get the baking soda and start sprinkling over that bare mattress and those carpets and leave it there just like the video says for 3 days, then vacuum and reapply. I sprayed the clove oil everyday for a week, the orange oil just a few times, but like I said I want infested, I got the few in the first couple of days. Also after sprinkling your mattress with the clove oil and baking soda you may want to invest in a plastic mattress cover especially if your infestation is bad. Don't forget to flip the mattress to get both sides. Then just zip that sucker up and let the baking soda do its job. Hope this helps!
Thank you very much for all your detailed information and tips. I didn't realize clove oil draws them out. I've read they can hibernate so hopefully the clove oil will force them to come out. I've been trying to help my brother (he's had them for about a year now ) for weeks now. Would I be able to find the clove oil in the spice section of a supermarket?
@@tinab3505 you're welcome girl, just make sure you use an adequate amount of baking soda. Even if you think it's too much don't worry, more baking soda is better. It's not harmful to you so no worries. Just make sure after you vacuum in 3 days, empty your vacuum outside NOT in your trash can inside. Then spread more baking soda. Goodluck!
Also, I used my phone flashlight in addition to the regular room light. Idk if mattress covers come in other colors, but it sure it helpful that it’s white, because bugs and other things will show up for sure :/
Back in the day, my mom and then use to say good night, don't let the bed bugs bite. I never heard of bed bugs growing up. I didn't think, there was a such thing, of bed bugs...well, there sure is a such thing, of bed bugs...lol ..I've had em one time ( one time is enough) Thank God, i caught them, in time, before they got, to bad......I cried...I was so mad... Thank God, my son, helped me, to get rid of them...all the bedding and ect, right in the washer...baking soda, all over on the couch, floor and bed. I washed, curtains and all. I even put, tape on the legs of my bed..I got rid of em, Thank God!!!
diatomaceous earth is not too expensive and does the trick also. These things are hard to get rid of for sure, but it can be done. But you have to stay on top of it. Sometimes, you think you have them defeated, then you see another. Don't panic.. just keep vigilante. Keep up the maintence against them. It takes a combo of things. Everyone has different methods, so try a few and just keep it up. Eventually they will be gone.
It's been around for years my granny grandmother all my family has baking soda and it does work miracles you can do a lot more than just kill bugs with it you can clean with it like you wouldn't believe I thank you all for the video I know about baking soda for a long time my granny and grandmother swore by it and I do too thanks for this video thank you for your time and your hard work!
One side of my Garden is bug infested, I end up killing my favorite Jack frost plant because of it ,I will sprinkling some baking soda today ,hopefully comes Spring time they won't be back
One thing about bed bugs you never have to sleep alone they're always happy to see you happy to see you 💕 and grateful for the meal that they will receive😜

What I do is I get a bucket I feel it up halfways with baking soda and the other half with flea powder Safer’s Bed Bug and Flea Killer I mix it up then I sprinkle it all over the house then I use a broom i sweep side-to-side creating dust and make sure you move everything away from the walls so you can get into crevices of all the corners and billboards I recommended covering everything now you don't want to be covered with dust and wear a mask so you don't inhale the dust too much go outside for about 10 to 15 minutes until the dust settles leave the stuff all over the ground for 12 hours to dry up these little bloodsuckers and then vacuum for me it took five treatments to get rid of them
Damn are you trying to make a bomb or what 🤣🤣🤣. That is a good idea though, that's what I do with regular body powder I sprinkle some on the floor slowly move it around with my broom and it picks up dust hairs lint everything then I vacuum after.
I sprayed my sofa and mattress with an insecticide that claimed to be non-toxic... Big mistake. Not only did it give me respiratory problems, it caused the bed bugs to scatter to other parts of my home. (I've caught quite a few of them walking along the floorboards in various rooms.) I'm going to give this baking soda trick a try. I just want my sleep and peace of mind back.
I lived in a house i bought that had bed bugs doctor called me nuts! Then I sprayed the house with sergeants dog shampoo permithrin based killed them instantly!
Two methods have worked for us in our rentals. Housekeep your space very well by decluttering, vacuuming very well, and washing all clothing, bed sheets, comforters etc and drying, then sprinkle Diatomaceous Earth around the perimeter of the rooms. If this works, you're done. If not, call an exterminator who applies Aprehend and have them to their thing. This works 100%.
Well I got everything off the bed put a case on each of the mattress and box springs full them full and zipper it up and put it all over the underneath of the bed and that really works good but keep putting the sheets in the dryer for high heat eggs hatch every three days
If you do the baking soda method... For it to work you have to mix it with essential oils.... Get a big plastic container.... Mix like 20 boxes of baking soda.... With pure natural essential oil..... Lemongrass oil works best..... But you can use eucalyptus peppermint lavender citrus.... You mix the oil with the baking soda sprinkle it all through your house... Wait 48 hours and then do a deep cleaning...... The essential oil will dissolve the bed bug....
@Roshea they will dissolve right in front of your face they'll melt.... mix essential oils with baking soda .... have a water spray bottle lightly mist...
I was researching my mom's bed bug problem, and I read about using a "natural spore" that kills bed bugs in a product called "Aprehend". UA-cam won't let me post the link here, but you can simply look up "Aprehend bed bug treatment" for yourself!
Ant Powder was the solution for me. I live in Florida and had roaches, still do,. My cousin visited and suggested Ant Powder would rid me of them. To our surprise, our bed bug problem for which we tried every thing just disappeared overnight. That was about two years ago and not one has surfaced since. Not a single one. Still see roaches though. Just wanted to share this.

I also used hot boiling water to wash the floors, I sprayed an insecticide called Hawx and I used a regular iron to vapor iron my clothes. Also diatomeas earth I bought un Amazon works you just spread it in the rooms and beds.
I put baking soda in a container two weeks ago along with 6 bed bugs. They are still just as alive today as the day I put the two together. So don’t believe this advice.
diatomaceous earth works as a cheap solution. decreases after a few days and only a few remains after a week. buy the food grade one with minimal silica
what about the bed bugs that are in the outlets and under/behind the baseboards. They can go without feeding for 18 months and survive. If you don't get rid of EVERY SINGLE ONE of the bastards they will return.
Im homeless at the moment staying with a friend with A BAD INFESTATION...I haven't slept it 3 days before that I got 6hrs sleep in 3 days....I really wish this worked or works I have no idea all I know...IS RATHER SLEEP IN THE SEWERS!!!!DOES THIS REALLY WORK AND ANY OTHER HELPFUL TIPS IM GOING INSANE FROM LACK OF SLEEP...I'm also super scared of all bugs so this is pure hell
If it doesn't work, get some Diatomaceous Earth - it does work. And you can also put some rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle - it will kill them instantly - it is flammable, so obviously, don't light candles, etc. when using it. Once your issue is gone, you can spray water on those areas to neutralize the alcohol. And, get some tape rollers - one for small areas like the couch cushions and a large one for carpet/floors. It works great to pick up any small ones running around. Suggest you put any clothes in bedrooms, blankets, etc. in a bag and take wash them with HOT water, then dry them on either Medium heat or High heat - it will kill anything in the clothing. I checked with my dryer manufacturer, and they said that medium heat on my LG hit 143 degrees which is hot enough for bed bugs. Think you have to hit 113 degrees. Sprinkle the Earth at doorway entries and around your bed or furniture pieces. It will restrict the bugs to that area. Use a mask if needed - the bag came with an accordion type application thing that when you press it, it will poof out the powder - that's nice for spots you can't get in to. I use my powdered sugar dispenser - it's a cup type thing where one side holds the sugar, and the other end has little holes in it to lightly drop the sugar on to cookies - WORKS GREAT to spread the Earth where I need it without the whole house being a dust bomb. I'm sorry I may not have described things too great - hope this helps. You can get rid of them - do not give up. Once you get the adults out, keep using the tape rollers to catch the little ones. I was horrified by these things in the beginning, but now I'm hunting them!
Works somewhat, definitely not fast and surely does not kill them, especially not the eggs hidden in tight places. I tried the RAID bed bug killer which made our bed box stink and still had bugs next night. Btw; Best way to catch em if you see one is with a small piece of scotch tape, Bed bugs are flat, like paper and will stick on glued surfaces, even the real small ones will stick on it and sure die. For the ones you don't see, the only thing works is heat! Bed heaters are very expensive to rent however, Heat guns are too hot and will melt synthetic fabrics, so find a real strong Hair dryer, like at least 1500-Watt and set it to the highest setting and heat up you box-spring slowly work around the edges on both sides, and the edges of your mattress. The hot air will penetrate the holes you don't see and where bugs and their eggs are located. Bed bugs cannot tolerate high heat, so anything over 50 Celsius or hotter will kill them. Steamers also work. If you still see bugs, repeat the process in a few days. If you have kids, put their sheets and pyjama in a bag and freeze it for a few hours, That will kill the real tiny bugs you don't see. Just my two cents
These bugs are so light if you use a hair dryer they will blow in the air. I used DE Diatomaceous earth. I steamed at least once week. I taped my outlets and switches. I removed my lamps to outside At one point they were so bad they would wake me up from a sound sleep feeling them crawling and moving my hair. I slapped once when I awoke and it smashed on my face so I was certain they were really there. I also had itchy ears. They say they don't bother your ears but they do. The babies are see through and move lightning fast. I put on a hat and tried to keep covered in plastic as I slept. It took a while but I did get rid of them, this is the second go round. 1st some one from the city and next a neighbor. I had to get rid of almost all my furniture. The spray its in a yellow container is what finally got rid of them and I used homemade carbon dioxide traps with yeast in plastic bottles with a straw that forced the gas into a shot glass filled with DE. I could see them in there so I knew when they were becoming less. I am about to put out another trap just to make sure because once you have them I feel paranoid they could be back and I don't know it so its peace of mind. Good luck, they are the worst thing I can think of ...we need to bring back DDT and get rid of them for good.
@@Neverquit...7 Hi Carol, you made a good point about bringing back DDT but it won't happen, it's like cars can use water as fuel, the government and other industries benefit so much with manufacturers of other stuff. DDT would have been the best but unfortunately it won't happen. Only places producing DDT is india and probably China.
Also, you can use those plastic packs the ones used with to shrinkpackages with a hoover which flattens clothing with No entry! Just rem to rub lightly all over body & just wipe a little bit on bedroom garment inside & out socks included how do you get rid of bite Mark's our, are they permanent?🤔
be carefully with lending fans out. I let my neighbor borrow my fan and than I noticed black crap a heroine sticky crap coming out the fan. So I think the bugs got in the fan. I moved to another place and 10-15 all at once. I had 2-3 at my apartment.
Isnt there some kind of gadget you can buy that attracts them and then zaps them like a mosquito zapper except its not a light or heat device? Or a device that repeals them so they want to leave your house?
No there is not. Wash clothes and bedding on high heat then bag it up. Vacuum mattresses and furniture and carpets taking care to get into every crevice and fold , most especially where it's dark and hidden. Headboards front , back, and under . All soft furniture. Under cushions, behind picture frames. Between floorboards as well as behind and under baseboards. Pay special attention to places people sleep but also where they lounge and sit like recliner chairs and sofas. Then use a professional spray made just for bed bugs from Home Depot or a hardware store . Then spray every dark and soft place they hide you just vacuumed. Sleep with a light on and be prepared to see more. They don't like light but will come out to feed. You have to spray the eggs and adults to get rid of them. If you smash one with a finger I smells like a spice called coriander. It may take several wash, vacuum and spray sessions so be very vigilant checking and spraying.
I dont know who commented that essential oils work on bedbugs on direct contact but its true. I have a rose therapeutic grade essential oil (thats the only one i have right now) we found a live one on my moms bed and we caught it using tape, i opened the tape in the bathroom sink and it was still wiggling and trying to get away, took 1 drop and put it directly on it, it wiggled for 1 second and then died instantly. I put it in a jar and been watching it and its dead. The person who commented said to mix essential oil with baking soda and spread it around so i will be going out to buy lemongrass essential oil (she said lemongrass or eucalyptus was an option) someone else said that it dissolves the bed bugs so i will update if that bedbug starts dissolving lol he got a full on drop and is chilling in the essential oil still.

I tried a similar method with Diatomaceous Earth which is supposed to kill bed bugs by dehydrating them. It didn't work because it takes weeks to dehydrate them and by them they have multiplied by hatching eggs.

Nope. Boric acid they become immune to them. Go to any 99cent store they sell behind the counter this Chinese box for $8. Tell them to kill roaches. I swear, you won't see them again. Sprinkle it everywhere you have them. Some die and dissappear.
I live in Vietnam where roaches can sit up in a chair and smoke a cigar (huge) but guess what I discovered. get a plastic spray bottle fill about half with water, then ooze a few tablespoonfulls of dish soap.Shake well and put sprayer on thin....HAHAHAHHAA...kills them within minutes/also keeps them the F away! No so sure baking soda will work, but I do know that Diatomaceous Earth does work. It's a powder that when the bugs breathe it in, it's like razor shards on their lungs. Works great. Also, rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle will kill them instantly. While that is a flammable item, you can rinse out any areas you sprayed with water later on to eliminate any problems... and don't light candles, etc. Since the bugs can crawl into mattresses and cushions, you should put a vinyl zip mattress cover on your mattress and box spring - double bag them. You can also use a tape roller - a hand held one for furniture and a large one for floors - it will pick up any baby bugs that you can't see. The whole process takes a couple of months since adults bugs can lay eggs frequently. It's not a lost cause though - just keep up with the tape, Earth, tape roller and they will be removed. Getting the small ones before they reach adulthood is key.
@Tiffany Allen But why not kill them directly with a tissue when you already see them? My problem is that I never see them, I've only seen 2-3 so far (if they are even bed bugs but don't know what else it could be) and have had bites since about 10 days.

Did it work? Please give us an update

Dissolve?? 😳
@Roshea they will dissolve right in front of your face they'll melt.... mix essential oils with baking soda .... have a water spray bottle lightly mist...
@Roshea capture a bedbug drop it in a glass add a couple drops of essential oil and watch it dissolve... but it has to be pure essential oil
@Roshea I went on Amazon and I purchased a gallon of pure essential oil.... I put a spray lid on the bottle.... and they started dissolving everywhere
I was researching my mom's bed bug problem, and I read about using a "natural spore" that kills bed bugs in a product called "Aprehend". UA-cam won't let me post the link here, but you can simply look up "Aprehend bed bug treatment" for yourself!

I used alcohol by itself, it didn't even work. I think I'll try some baking soda.@@judykish1481
Instead of freezing clothes, I d microwave for 50 sec. They will be baked.

Thanks for the useful tip! I'll try it as the weather gets warmer. That's when I have the problem.
I was reading they come in the between 2 and 5 am its very true and if its dark in the room losing alot of sleep from them 😭
Yeah well I have my doubts about that one . I do know one thing though . Victoria General Hospital in Canada has Bed Bugs . They didn't come from me . I live almost outdoors . No cockroaches , fleas , or bed bugs . Just lots of spiders , which do actually bite occasionally
There’s also baking soda laundry powder
Hie wow will run to the store to get the Soda and try this remedy thanks so much for the tipkkkk
Solution: just live inside a box of baking soda.
I use it all the time. I rub it in my sheets and pillow. It has cut down on them tremendously.
Rubbing in baking soda below sheets or in them?
@@Roshea rub it In the sheets. When you see one it grinds up the bed bug when you mash them. It depends on bad you have them. They come out when It's warm in the room. I would vacuum every couple of days. They may stain your sheets ,where they are mashed. I have been us in oxy clean on my clothes and sheets, they look less black. You may have to soak them in hot water. Maybe an hour or so. I got some Hot shot for tough ones. Baking soda kind fades after a few days.
@@shellyblanchard5788 thank you! I have not actually seen any yet but they certainly are biting. Youch!!
Going to apply some baking soda now 👍
Myself personally I keep a circumference of baking soda around my entire apartment in all rooms I leave it there for the whole time and I'm living there
Its It's always a pleasure hearing the voice of WATOP
Awesome video good Job I in joy it
Can this go on tap tops
Bed bugs are in all furniture, not just your bed , they are in anything that has material in it, I know cause it is in my recliner, pillows, blankets, and they stink when you smash them and they get on your clothes, inside shoes, and are transported to, other places, and they do get on your pets and will be in your 🚗 , or anything else you own ,they are not just in your bed they are every where.
That is the absolute truth. A car is easily overlooked , but also just another way they get transported from one infested place to another or reinfest them.
Everything has to be washed, vacuumed and sprayed or thrown out and burned.
Moved into our fully furnished apartment that has been empty for few months only to discover 2 weeks later there were bed bugs on all 3 bedrooms and couches 😭 looking for methods on getting them put out ASAP as I am tired of getting woken up with bites.
😫 same, every night they bites all over the body,I don't know baking soda can really stop them or not🤔
@@davidm1668 baking soda doesn’t work my landlord told me to do that you are gonna have to use different things to combat them because they are resistant to pesticides and they will come back with a vengeance it’s war with bed bug’s smh
I also rented a furnished studio apartment after my divorce. $850 a month plus security. I gave the skam artist landlord $1,700 in CASH and he assured me the apartment was SAFE, SECURE, ETC. The first night I got demolished by BEDBUGS, my first encounter with bedbugs. Called him the next day to attempt to get my $$ back, he told me that he did NOT put the BEDBUGS in the apartment and told me I was on my own. The other problem was he had a contract with the area homeless shelters who paid the rent for long time homeless people. Needless to say the building was a CRIME RIDDEN cesspool with burglaries, robberies , assault's, etc. Stopped paying rent, he took me to eviction court. Told the judge the situation with pictures, videos, witnesses, etc. He awarded me my $1,700 back and 2 months later I was awarded $5,000 in small claims court for items that were taken by his maintenance guy and loss of work. Becareful who you rent from, especially if it's a large apartment building. Go there many times at different times to see how the area, hallways are
arson works

@@lynn.d1015 DING DING DING!!! A WINNER!
How long did you leave it in baking soda?
@@eluxury2 he didn't even say baking soda he said salt. I don't think salt kills them.
Also rubbing alcohol will kill them
I think Diatomaceous Earth is better than Baking Soda
Is this natural hey can you leave it on the floor. Saw in another comment that this can damage your vacuum cleaner?
@@duaneshadd1070 don't know about damaging vacuum. I wouldn't think so unless you're vacuuming tons of it up. Google it to be sure.
Thank you
@@duaneshadd1070 it is crushed coral and shells, it can damage your lungs, so be sure to buy an insecticide brand so that it is heavy enough to not be in the air. Also, if you have been vacuuming bed bugs and eggs... Isn't it time for a new vacuum any way?
Steam cleaner to vacuum cleaner to shop to replace belt and new filter everything checked out fine nothing was found inside vacuum cleaner
I wish my blood had baking soda😢😢
You have such great information!
Can you tell me what bug is this I have a picture

Rubbing alcohol and a match works well to.
