Duane on the stuffing, when you run across bed pillows at the Dollar Store or Wal-Mart, that can me less expensive that a bag of Fiberfill, just cut the pillow open on 1 end and you have a large bag of stuffing. It is the same thing.

I have been making sock gnomes filling them with rice. I decided to make this kind and guess what! It was the best one I have made and I gave it to my friend who has breast cancer. She told me she would like one with eyes and so this is my first with eyes. I didn’t get around to putting arms or feet but it still turned out great and she loves it. Thank you. From South Carolina
Have binged watched your videos. Tonight I actually made one with you. Paused many times. My hand sewing is not real tight so next time I will use my machine. Mine turned out so cute. Many thanks. Have done many sock gnomes and decided to move forward with arms. Shoes next.
A tip I learned about using rice is to freeze it for 3 days before using it. This kills the weevil bugs and doesn't allow them to hatch once the rice is in the body of the gnome.
@@nancygibson1905 are you involved in any of the Facebook gnome groups? If so, there are a couple gnome crafters that have made some wonderful Scottish gnomes. Just post a question asking to see what others have made. Also check Pinterest.

I absolutely love your channel. I have one suggestion, would it be possible to post a printable pdf of your patterns? I cannot seem to make them correctly due to the slant. Thank you so much for posting your amazing tutorials!
So you have a gnome pattern...several kinds...coat pattern, boot pattern. Patterns for this and that. I'm 74. I cannot afford a pattern for every item. Sorry but I think you are trying to get rich quick.
Hi Duane, I love your gnomes. Do you have a template for your gnome body? I have tried to replicate it but I am a little off with the pattern. I didn't quite get the correct measurements from the video. thanks
Dorathy I agree that the postage is high so I can email the patterns and invoice PayPal. All I would need is your email address and which pattern sets you are interested in.
Just found you. Love your work and you are so patient and clear. Could you make or recommend a source for making a gnome baby? I'd love to gift a little gnome family to my daughter and family for the holidays
I have used both depending on the project and the cost. For most beginners and those making a quantity of gnomes to sell, I would recommend the regular felt squares from Hobby Lobby or Joann's to save money. My wife likes to buy me the premium felt because she uses it for other projects too. You can also get more variation of colors in the premium felt.
Hi Duane, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I use your pattern measurements, glue as you indicated and every time the fold side is higher then the seam side and the gnome leans forward rather then straight. Help
I’m ok with that measurement. But I checked again today and noticed the folded side was about 1/4” shorter - 5 3/4” rather than 6”. Would that make a huge difference? Thank you for your help!

The dotted lines are just showing that the pattern is cut at an upward angle. Place the pattern flat on the fold to cut out. The 1 inch angle makes it so the sides of the body peak in the center.
