I just discovered your channel and am impressed with the tutorials and the gnomes. To make an easy knot , take your threaded needle, bring the end of the thread up to the needle, wrap around a couple of times and pull the knot down from the needle to the end.
Duane I seen a little gnome in a store and thought it was so cute. When I got home I looked up how to make gnomes. I found a few of the sock Gnomes that were cute and I made two Valentine ones for myself. A Mr. & Mrs. Set. But then I found you and your exquisite, wonderful, sweet Gnomes. They take my breath away. You are the Gnome King. Oh how I love your Gnomes. Thank you for sharing how you make them. I can't wait to try and make some.Duane I seen a little gnome in a store and thought it was so cute. This is such a great tutorial!! Everything is nicely centered on screen, your words are crystal clear, the view of the pattern pieces and all the measurements is easily seen, and you don't skip showing even the smallest of steps taken! I find a lot of tutorials leave out or skim past steps/actions that *they* think should be obvious but that are not necessarily so for the viewers. And these gnomes are absolutely lovely.
The best, most professional looking gnome tutorial that I have seen! I love this "lil" gnome, can't wait to get started on my own Autumn Pumpkin Gnome...Thank you for sharing! Too cute!
oh my goodness ~~ searched for how to make this hat !! and here it is ...Duane is such a good teacher too !!! cant wait to make a petal hat for my next gnome making adventure ! thank you Duane ! your the best ...sheila in delaware
Saw this video and went searching for the pattern! Hope I got the right one!!! My daughter just got engaged and the first flower he gave her was a sunflower … As soon as I get the patterns, I’m gonna make a Mr and Mrs Sunflower gnome couple!!! Woohoo!!!
Thank you for all the detail information. These guys are adorable. I made my first gnome last week from Dollar Tree supplies and now I'm hooked. I can't wait to but the supplies to make these guys!
I love this tutorial about as much as I loved the other one. You are an awesome I instructor and I love that you share your design with others and encourage them to change it up and make it their own. Not many professionals have the same heart that you do! Thank you and I’ve fallen in love with these little guys!!!!!
Thank you. We all add our own creative touch. I love to give the basics and see how others add to them. These gnomes have been some of the favorites that crafters like to make.
Duane, these Gnomes are absolutely Fantastic, I Love Them! Thank You so Much for showing me How to Make them. I Can"t WAIT to Start Making Them! I"ll have to make ALL Seasons because They are so Cute!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Your gnomes are amazing!! I love how detailed you are. I saved your video because I’m definitely going to try and recreate this. I hope I do you justice. And thank you for your measurement template. I screen shot those so I could try and make them also. I look forward to your next video. 😊
Wow !! This was just an awesome tutorial. Thanks so much for sharing. I am excited to try this. I can see me creating the cutest gnomes in a variety of colors, for different holidays. Keep up the great work. I just loved this...
@@duanedking8498 Ok, I just looked. There is only 1 gnome. Will there be more soon? I was thinking Christmas gifts for a 3 of my great nieces. (They are 8,10, & 12) So they would take care of, and. treasure them.
Duane these are adorable!! You should look into a Brother scan and cut. You can scan in your pattern and the machine can cut the felt. It is an investment I am saving for! 😁
Love him! I'm doing time jump - binge watching all your videos! Like I am watching this one 10/25/21. Thanks so much for all the awesome tips & tricks! I just made my first one and I'm so in love with her silly bunny self. Thinking of trying one with the cone inside but for now I'm using stuffing style.
You are so creative and talented. I also greatly appreciate when artists such as you, give us the measurements for the patterns or templates that you made for yourself. I am very literal when copying other people’s designs, until I have tried them out at least once, so I greatly appreciate the measurements. Plus I also love that you don’t force people to pay for your ideas either. I am lucky enough to be able to afford groceries most months, so paying extra for a subscription for gnome making is not in the cards. So thank you again!
Hi I just joined your tutorials are great your work is amazing I’m just making them for my family❤️🥰 I have been making crafts since high school and love learning new things I’m a mom that loves making stuff for my kids I am making wreaths and making the embellishments out of felt yarn any item that’s not the usual items thank you for sharing your art🥰👏👏👏

Hi there well i have so enjoyed yopur videos i am making my way threw all of them was wondering if you sell your patteren or is there a place to download the body and coat also you are such a great instructor thank you
Very cute! Which type of threads do you use? Is it cotton quilting threads? Christmas gnome could have holly leaves instead of plain green leaves. As time goes by and I can afford to by things bit by bit, I’ll definitely try these. Thanks for phenomenal tutorials. 🇨🇦😊❤️
Thank you for sharing your patterns. I am learning so much from you. I have been making sock gnomes but I am going to make your type and see the difference. What is the circumference of the base of the body?
You are so creative and you make your gnomes simple enough for others to try but so polished and perfect when put together. Thank you very much 😊 and I was wondering if the leaf at the bottom is .75 inch? Jodie
I do not do elves but Sarah Turner from Tenderfoot Village did some elf patterns last year. You can find her tutorials on UA-cam or the Facebook gnome groups.
Thank You Deb. I use to sell my gnomes in craft stores and boutiques. Now I sell a few on Etsy but I have actually built shelves in several rooms and have a number of tables full of gnomes.
I have bought a lot of your patterns. They are great! I did get one that’s a forest gnome hat, not really sure how it goes together, I wonder if you can help me with that thank you.
I love your gnomes, you are the best teacher and you make things easy to understand. Could you use flannel for your bodies, or do you need the stiffness of felt?
I love your gnomes. I have purchased your pattern for them. This maybe an unusual question but what type of scissors do you use and where would I purchase them?
Thank you. Not an unusual question at all. My scissors have been a topic of several conversations recently. I was given the scissors to use from my wife a couple years ago. When people started asking about them, I found out that they are from a medical surgery kit.

Thank you. I sell my gnomes between $30 and $40 depending on how much I accessorize the gnome.
Are you using the high heat glue gun or low heat? Love this!
I definitely use the low heat. High heat wasted too much glue and burned my fingers.

I love your gnomes, you are the best teacher and you make things easy to understand. Could you use flannel for your bodies, or do you need the stiffness of felt?
I am not sure about flannel? I have tried with fleece and that was not as firm as the felt. Most fabrics are not as stiff as the felt for the bodies.

I definitely use low temp. Tried high temp once by mistake at first and burnt my fingers and went through a lot of glue and hassles.
