the airmen in B-17's had to endure temps of 60 below zero on their missions , no heat in those open air bombers . only pilot got a little heat of one of the engine exhaust . they did that every day until the war ended
wow! That's better than a 2 to 1, drop to glide ratio. I didn't know squirrel suites could do that. Looks like my Far Cry escapades are a little more realistic than I thought.
Cool. So it's possible to take a flight from DXB, parachute and land on Abu Musa in the strait of Hormuz without a sound from an airplane at landing site
Not a wing suiter but a skydiver and I'm wondering about something maybe a wingsuiter can enlighten me on. That did not look like a good exit. Maybe the air is thin up there, contributing to the rolls but it liiked like he exited at a weird angle.
I call bulls!t 2min46 - 20000ft with 7.61 miles to go 2min52 - 7400ft with 1.89 miles to go (12600ft down, 5.72 miles travelled) 2min56 - 1800ft with 0.48 miles to go (5600ft down, 1.41 miles travelled) Why did his glide ratio suddenly half (where the air was most dense and should if anything have increased it!)
Mark Rose but its not a vacuum its an atmosphere where the lower you go in altitude gives you more lift on your wing suit. Meaning that your glide ratio does increase as you descend in altitude this isn't just wing-suits but any aircraft.
the "regret" comment. Dont be one of those people. You have no idea what other people do that are WAY more disciplined than you are jumping out of a plane for $4000 a pop.
18.257 miles is all you could do from 40,000'? Excuse me if i'm being naive but you see wingsuiters traveling 5 miles when proximity flying from a 3000' mountain top. An they aren't falling 500 feet a second.
You know Calling yourself brave & heroic because you volunteered to do something absolutely nobody asked you to do, in order to break a stupid world record that 99.9% of the world population even knows about, is exactly why people have a problem with cops & soldiers. Because the navy SEALs, the most overfunded and over-contributed to organization on earth who receive nothing but never-ending praise, stipends, and support are the people who really need it. How noble of him...
It makes me wonder whether the wingsuit would be an effective means for military personnel to enter a battle zone from very high orbit very high altitude. Imagine if a person could exit the international space station with an ablative shielding for one person and after re-entering the atmosphere break out in a wingsuit and fly to their destination.
The last part of the flight was with a shoot not the wing suit? How is this a world record breaking wingsuit flight????????? Should have pulled the shoot after the record was broken. Anyone could parachute from a great height and beat the record.
I like at 3:11 hes 580 feet up and still needs 0.182 miles then at 3:12 has 555 feet up and 0.025 miles left needed. Edit: But 100 feet later at 3:14 hes only at 0.019 so he moves 0.157 miles in 25 feet but a second later hes only moving 0.006 per 100 feet.
Not really, HALO jumps normally open around 3K or below, hell some have gone as low as 800ft. Static line jumps can go as low as 500ft in the military. The dude knows what he's doing, I trust him to deploy his chute when he's ready.

Thank you for your support
Cessna Caravan has a service ceiling of 25000' though. Where they get the other 12000' from?

Andy is such a humble guy. He didn’t mention he did this incredible feat after recovering from taking a bullet to the hip in Iraq during combat.

2:05 what kind of headgear is this and how can i get it?
I love this guy! Such a good dude and should be a comedian. Thanks 4 your service brother!!
Alan Eustace traveled over 26 miles without a wingsuit, just a parachute in his recordbreaking freefall in 2014.
Wow! That Cessna Caravan is AMAZING!

1:52 “no-mans land, edge of space” in a propeller plane? 😂
The edge of space is 50 miles up, which is 26,000 feet up. This guy went 36,000 feet up. It literally took two google searches dude. Ignorant
Props can go really high, a 1930s biplane has been flown to 56000 feet, and the Perlan 2, a glider reached 76,00 feet. Thats above a U-2 spy plane!
holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...damn he is freaking nuts
Absolutely amazing achievement! :D

At 1:26 the altimeter shows 2960 ft, yet the subtitles say 12,000 + feet. What's up?

the airmen in B-17's had to endure temps of 60 below zero on their missions , no heat in those open air bombers . only pilot got a little heat of one of the engine exhaust . they did that every day until the war ended
They had heated suits that plugged into a rheostat at their stations.
Nice speech i will have this in my mind.

I would really like to know how the got those shots at 2:48
The Cessna Caravan has certified ceiling of 25,000 ft. Wonder how it launched at 37,000 ft.
Could have specially designed high altitude engines.
cut together with some sweet 2-way flocking jumps.
Far Cry in real life.
Is it impossible to land safely without the parachute at end?

2min56 - 1800ft with 0.48 miles to go (5600ft down, 1.41 miles travelled)
Why did his glide ratio suddenly half (where the air was most dense and should if anything have increased it!)
Its called running into more friction as you descend into thicker air. Did you flunk science class?
scott hafer so by your logic a wing suit pilot would have an increased glide ratio (I.e. Fly further) in a vacuum..?
genaricname69 yup.
Mark Rose but its not a vacuum its an atmosphere where the lower you go in altitude gives you more lift on your wing suit. Meaning that your glide ratio does increase as you descend in altitude this isn't just wing-suits but any aircraft.
Cause between 7400' 1800' he would have deployed his parachute, which has much worse of a glide angle than the wingsuit
3:56 anyone here can tell me how to shot this angle?
People complain about the Batman having weird effects. But looking at this. It does have a bobble head effect. I’m fine with it now.
awesome one dude
I was wondering if the pilot cut the speed of the plane back a little on exit, more control & lift faster? To beat your current record?
Plane on exit was about 210 mph & wingsuit speed about 140-150 mph?
how long did it take?
