    Of course from podcast and interviews I am aware of most of Andy’s military career milestones, but I did Not know he was/is a military free fall instructor. Many have made it through military free fall school, but only a select few took it to the outer reaches of becoming an Instructor, truly next level and one hell of a way to give back to the SOF community!

    Not a wing suiter but a skydiver and I'm wondering about something maybe a wingsuiter can enlighten me on. That did not look like a good exit. Maybe the air is thin up there, contributing to the rolls but it liiked like he exited at a weird angle.

    2min46 - 20000ft with 7.61 miles to go
    2min52 - 7400ft with 1.89 miles to go (12600ft down, 5.72 miles travelled)
    2min56 - 1800ft with 0.48 miles to go (5600ft down, 1.41 miles travelled)
    Why did his glide ratio suddenly half (where the air was most dense and should if anything have increased it!)

    • @cshafer29169
      @cshafer29169 7 років тому +12

      Its called running into more friction as you descend into thicker air. Did you flunk science class?

    • @mpr106
      @mpr106 7 років тому +5

      scott hafer so by your logic a wing suit pilot would have an increased glide ratio (I.e. Fly further) in a vacuum..?

      genaricname69 yup.

    • @zekeslavens
      @zekeslavens 6 років тому +2

      Mark Rose but its not a vacuum its an atmosphere where the lower you go in altitude gives you more lift on your wing suit. Meaning that your glide ratio does increase as you descend in altitude this isn't just wing-suits but any aircraft.

    • @epibase1
      @epibase1 6 років тому +1

    You know Calling yourself brave & heroic because you volunteered to do something absolutely nobody asked you to do, in order to break a stupid world record that 99.9% of the world population even knows about, is exactly why people have a problem with cops & soldiers. You can look it up yourself, but you're more likely to die as an electrician, garbage truck driver, laborer, farmer, plumber, pilot & several more, than you are to die while being a cop or soldier. And only 1 in every 10 soldiers ever even see combat & for there weapon. Yet they expect 100% of the glory & recognition & it's nauseating. So next time you see a plumber, garage man or farmer, thank them for risking their lives so we don't have to starve & live in filth. Cause statistically they are way more likely to die performing their job. AND WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT, YOU SIMPLY CANNOT DISAGREE WITH IT, BECAUSE THOSE ARE ALL 100% STONE COLD STATISTICAL FACTS. INTERPRET THEN HOW YOU WANT!

Imagine if a person could exit the international space station with an ablative shielding for one person and after re-entering the atmosphere break out in a wingsuit and fly to their destination.

      Tyler Stumpf I’m a retired Deputy and a inventor. I have an idea for small unit missions but I need an expert opinion, that’s all. I’m not soliciting money or endorsements. I just need to know if it’s a good idea. My e-mail is mark.e.smith.dsn19@gmail.com. Can you have your father read this? Thank you
