11 years later, Curien revived as a humanoid known as "Wheel of Fate" and ironically got murdered by his son and Lisa.
I like how they added more zombies around Sophie in the bad ending. Gives it a much *CREEPIER* vibe!
I mean, it makes sense. The bad ending is often gotten by failing to save scientists, which give you more points, so they'd be infected and resurrected as zombies.
@Muhammad Karim I gave it a quick Google and it confirmed what I first thought. To be clear, there's three female zombies in the entire series, Sophie, a girl from the Beat-em Up spin off, and a cartoony one from the romantic comedy spin off. None come under attack, however, as Sega anticipated controversy over the idea of shooting women in the face, even if they are zombies.
It was a different time back then, it's why green blood appears in some versions (cos red was too realistic and, thus, too gory). So yeah, they only had male zombies to prevent people banning it for violence against women. Sure, you can shoot the female survivors, but it's discouraged.

Unless we count OverKill but er.... I doubt anyone wants to remember *that* final boss...
@Muhammad Karim I suppose that Curien wasnt interested to create woman zombies because he had problems about her own wife because she died and he resurrected her in another but she escaped with other zombie.
So i suppose he didnt want to know nothing about woman since that happened him.
The canon ending is The Co-op + Sophie alive, In The House of The Dead 3 you can play as Lisa Rogan (Rogan and Sophie's daughter) as she's the main protagonist
I am missing something, is Lisa really Rogan and sophie's daughter? Silly me thought Kate Green was Lisa anw lol
Ironically enough he said goodbye to Currien and bye it's like "see ya" while farewell is a way to say bye forever, and Currien indeed got back to life
@Goddess Shadow He BECOMES a boss in a later game. Wheel of Fate, iirc.
In Scarlet Dawn, Curien's Best Creatures Hangedman and Chariot were brought back from the dead by the greater scope himself Thornheart.

I love that in the bad ending there are more zombies with Sophie
my guess is the umbrella corporation took over Curiens research and created the T-virus
But in original game there were no more zombies except Sophie in Bad Ending. 😁😅

@@nisarahmed3543no actually. Sophie survived. Original game didn't showed it. Sophie has a daughter with Thomas named Lisa. And she is the protagonist of House of the dead.
Rogan was painful to hear. He’s the only one who said “Farewell Sophie”, while G only said goodbye to Curien.
Just shows Rogan really does have feelings for her and lost hope of seeing her again, until the good ending ends up being canon.

Rogan and Sophie liked each other but then this happened, according to the OG artbook.
Canon wise Rogan never meant to put her in danger ever again after this.
I assume after the good ending (canon), there could be more creatures still alive in the mansion, the military and other AMS authorities arrive to finish the job and cover up the event sometime after Goldman retrieved Curien's body and research.

House of the Dead 1 has its source port missing too so that adds more reason for that remake to happen.
The good ending has always been canon ever since in 3.
Now then the City is been consumed chaos of Outbreak during prior 2 years after Curien's Nightmare ASM agent's recruit 2 new to handle another one The Military was in dire situation same goes for ASM send for a rapid response to save what left of survivor
@KazutoGale9000 I don't know about that but a HOTD 5 must happen after 3 as far as the timeline . There are still 3 or so major arcana left. The Devil , Death etc . Preferable The Magician becoming The Devil in one last epic final battle .

I wish had added extra chapter or two , to this remake! I mean all house of the dead games are short, but this one is extremely short in comparision! That or could added more areas to already existing chapters, especially the final one!

1st games of the series prob were like that as something to “test” hardware limits before devs improved engine skills until later but yeah wouldn’t be bad if they add few things in the remake

He was always supposed to be that way in hotd1. It was said the events changed him though, which is why he got emotional in hotd2 and tried to tackle the whole thing by himself (which is why he was wounded when u see him in the first chapter).

@@spongeyspikes09 I remember reading somewhere a long time ago that that was the original plan (note that in his profile, a lot of things like date of birth, age, nationality, etc, we're all unknown), but it was either forgotten or scratched.
One thing I've noticed is that, G's model here looks a lot like an older version of his model in Overkill without the glasses so maybe they're tying in Overkill as canon within the game's timeline
Tbh, there's nothing in Overkill which contradicts the main series. But there would need to be a reason why G changed from being a bit laid back in Overkill, to cold and serious in hotd1.

@@ZeroYame It didn't seem like Overkill changed him. He was really laid back in the ending, even when a girl he liked was just a brain in a jar. Plus all the dialogue with Washington.

@Stefano Pavone There was a version of the hotd1 machine that had profiles for Rogan and G. Interestingly, i recall G's profile had his birthday and age as "Unknown", whereas i recall Rogan was in his early thirties or something. They always wanted G to be mysterious.

I don't see the normal ending where it just shows the mansion.
one thing they missed from the old game where PoV camera goes bck after killing last boss all the way to game starting point

For me to be honest, 1:51 where Sophie opens the doors being alive was more of a surprise scare. 😅
For me this doesn't scare me, I was very frustrated that I couldn't rack up more than 62,000 points.

I beat the House of the Dead at the Arcades, I rescue all the reseachers, probably got a high score, but still got the normal ending as G.

i dont understand, i got a score under 62,000 and the last digit was a 0 but i did not get zombie sophie
The game tell us that no continue playing after you died, because if you don't you won't receive the ending of Sophie when she was a zombie or human.

@@superjustinebros3504 all i know is that i've been able to get all 3 endings in this remake. one by getting more than 62,000 points by playing it with the modern score system, one by getting less than 62,000 points by playing it with the classic score system, and one by starting the game from the final level so my score was so low that i didnt even get the zombie sophie ending
@@Spazbo4 also zombie Sophie doesn't canon, the normal Sophie it does canon, the reason is that because of the third game of House of the Dead was that Thomas and Sophie Rogan gave the birth of Lisa.

honestly if the bad ending is canon then the events of house of the dead 3 wouldn't exist, well the main character there is rogan's daughter and it wouldn't make sense after all without her 😂

at start of game sophie dies to first boss and if u have good ending in same game how come shes alive when she already died in starting
Idk why, but I can't play as agent G after hooking up a spare controller and just going through it myself as the main guy. It's like I'm locked out of selecting who I want to play at the main menu now... forever. I got the true ending first... then on my Solo/multiplayer run I got the third ending... I just need the normal ending and I can't get it, lol. ; D

I see that this remake didn't come with any attempt to fix the awful voice acting.
The awful voice acting was intentional to keep the same tradition that original game had. I'm sure that the upcoming remake of HOTD2 will also get the same awful voice acting treatment to continue the tradition

I thought that, if I rescued all the scientists, Sophie would survive & not become a zombie. I rescued all the scientists, & I still got the Zombie Sophie ending. Ugh 😒

@@vivienballard391 Try Modern. The score doubles in that mode. It should get you the good ending if you manage to save all the scientist and shoot bonus items in each chapter.

It depends mostly on score but researchers will give you higher points if you save them.
When your score is below 62,000 and the last score digit is NOT equal to zero: Normal Ending
When your score is below 62,000 and the last score digit is equal to zero: Bad Ending
When your score is above 62,000 overall: True Ending
