I hope you do lots of knitting and watch lots of baseball and have a great week!
Love your joy in this episode!
Congratulations on the wheel! I'll never forget the thrill when I got my first wheel ("This will be the only wheel I'll ever want," I said, just like you, but omehow, I have three now, and I love them all equally, but for different reasons). As you learn more and dive into all the different ways to use fiber and color, you will be more and more hooked. It's probably blasphemy to say this, but in many ways I find spinning more enjoyable than knitting. It so relaxing and magical and tactile. And then, when you knit or weave your own yarn? So satisfying!
I can't wait to start knitting with my handspun!!
I’m not a spinner but I really enjoyed hearing you talk about it. Your joy was infectious and I ended the episode super excited for you!
Agreed!
Thank you so much! That means a lot to me.
Emily that teal sweater is so pretty! You knit it quickly! I'm enjoying the teals and burnt orange colors myself😀 I must say the lady bug spinner is really neat. The red wheel got me immediately...red is my favorite color. Trying not to get into spinning!! Already knit, crochet, cross stitch and sew. 🙃
Your vlogmas convinced me to try that candy cane chapstick and you're right, it is the best. Obsessed.
Oh my gosh yessssss!!
Very cool makes this episode. I'm one of those who have been here from the beginning, I'll be proud of that, haha. I've been spinning here and there for a while, and your singles already look better than mine! I'm almost finished my first 4oz fiber and have a very colorful yarn to show for it. It's so rewarding and I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Thanks so much! I'm loving spinning so much already!
I’m not a spinner but I’m really curious about it. I’d love to watch a podcast of yours dedicated to spinning!
Your port sweater looks phenomenal, by the way!
I was working at Weird Sisters that Sunday and I thought I saw you! I’m so glad you found some really beautiful yarn 😊 Your Port sweater is also inspiring me to grab some yarn I have saved in stash and get started!
Oh amazing!! We loved Weird Sisters ❤️ I very much vote yes to getting started on a Port! I love mine!
Ferry terminal story is too funny
Congrats on 60 episodes and the wheel ! Not a spinner but I find it so fascinating to hear about that side of the fiber to yarn process, so keep it coming (: I love the colours for your Dad Tee design, just got the linen quill in butterscotch yellow for a cardigan, but now I know what I could use leftovers for ☺️ when you were talking about holding the alpaca together with your first handspun yarn, I was thinking of the Forth hat by Isolda Teague. I just finished knitting it; it’s a top down construction and regardless of your yarn weight, you cast on the same way and then determine your gauge a few steps in. So maybe some more flexible pattern like this could be useful? Thanks for this episode !!
This is a great hat suggestion! I'll definitely take a look. Thank you!
You are correct about mittens being warmer than gloves! Your science is sound! I can't wait until your new design is ready for testing, I loved knitting Dad Sweater so much that I will be applying immediately.
I'm so glad you love it ❤️ I'm hoping I'll be ready for a test call by the end of March!
I’m sad to miss the pop up! I always love seeing what you make!
Congrats on your sixtieth episode, wow!!! I've been watching you from the very beginning and it's been so fun to see your (corny word choice I know, but...) journey, and the addition of all your new skills! Spinning! Designing! Working at one of the coolest yarn shop! And, of course, tons of knitting. :D Thank you so much for sharing with us.
This is such a thoughtful note - thank you!!
I’m knitting the Port Sweater right now! I agree with everything you said about it: it’s one of the best patterns I’ve ever knitted. I love every stitch 😊 i just have the hem and sleeves to do so I’m super excited to have the FO!
So close! I hope you love the finished sweater!
Congratulations on #60 🎉
Is the Seachange Fibers yarn you got soft? I’ve been eyeing that online for a little now
Yes! Softness is super personal, but I would definitely say it's soft - that's what made me love it!
