    Marc, I just got this model from your store. For anyone wondering, it looks just as good in person as it does in the video. If you like this style of watch, I would highly recommend it. The rubber band is very comfortable and the keepers don’t slide off. The tritium is an amazing feature too. The bezel is very solid and there’s no play at all in my copy. As far as I can see with the naked eye, everything lines up perfectly too. I’m very impressed with this watch. Thanks for the great service, Marc!

    Great video Mark. You really can't appreciate tritium until you use it at night in the out doors. That's ultimately what it's meant for. I dive for work. I do use this watch as I wear it everyday. I just put on an extra long NATO to go around my dry suit.

    I got the uncoated GSAR (with bracelet) for Christmas from my son. I've worn it everyday since I got it. Still over the moon with it. Most expensive watch I've ever owned, but I think it's still a value as far as Swiss watches go. I was a Seiko fanboy, but this was my grail piece. I'm a sucker for black pvd though. Thanks for sharing Marc!

    I own several military/tactical-style watches and have always gone for black case, black face with white markings. But this watch is an exception for me; the bare-metal version is just stunning.

    I absolutely love mine. In addition to being a practically tough and durable design, it looks especially original. At 41mm, it doesn't look puny (as I worried it might) on my 7 1/2in wrist. It looks better on a NATO strap, though. The strap it comes with is well made, but ridiculously short. My wrists are not massive, and I had to use the last 2 holes on the strap, which is absurd. I admit I wouldn't mind a 43mm variation; the alternative is a 46mm (which is way too big for me), or a 36mm (which is comically small for me). I'm pretty sure this will be on my wrist for a long, long time to come, and imo it beats the crap out of luminox et al, but it does seem strange to get fobbed with such a puny strap for what is basically an entry-level price tag. It feels almost as if they expect you to replace it anyway...

    Hey Mark, you are excellent at modding watches. I am wondering if you know how to take off the bezel of the Marathon GSAR? I have done this with many Seiko watches, I just can’t figure out how to do it on the Marathon. Thank you for any help!

    Hey Mark,
    Since I can't make go to your last video to have you responding to my questions regarding the Bambino Small Seconds, I'll just leave my comment here, hoping you see it and care to answer (yes, I know it's hard to respond to everyone :) ).
    "Even though I love the champagne color dial one, my favourite Bambino has to remain the AC00009N, with the cream dial, the romans and those beautiful blue hands. However this small seconds version (as well as the open heart version that you'll show someday) has this fantastic feature that I love so much which is the back display. Love the enjoyment of "seeing the magic happening" as TGV puts it. I'd just love if Orient did a new version of the AC0009N with a back display. I'd pull the trigger in a hearbeat!
    QUESTION: Do you know if this is ever going to happen? Will they ever make new versions of the previous Bambinos with back display on them?"
    Keep coming you videos man, they're amazing and I'm, for sure, learning a lot!

    Thanks for the video Mark. Just curious: what is the average time on the shelf before this type of watch is sold? In other words if a watch with tritium tubes stays on the shelf for 2 years before being sold then that's 2 years of the tritium life gone. Can the tubes be replaced? Cheers!

    It surprises me that so few expensive dive watches are manufactured in accordance with the ISO standard when relatively affordable watches like Marathon and Seiko do it. It is also amusing that when so many luxury watches want to sell all sorts of military heritage stories and claim to be used by armed forces actual military users tend to rely on genuine tool watches made for toughness from brands many watch enthusiasts would look down on, such as Marathon.

    My heart is ready to accept this
    “But my wallet..
    MY WALLET IS TELLIN ME NOOOO”
    Also I got the blacked out baby Tuna from Seiko (the one with the ceramic shroud) and for it for about 400
    I don’t remember if it was from you guys or from somebody else though darn
    But I think that is really good
    It’s what I will be using (also my gshock) during summer for when on on duty since it’s reasonably priced
    Plus I got a black engineer bracelet for it from strapcode so it looks quite good :D

      Long Island Watch and a H3 pip instead of lume would be very practical,
      I'm using a Traser Pioneer with H3 Lume pip turned in 3hrs position,
      together with a orange H3 at 12hrs it's easy to see the hours
      before 0300 AM and after 0300 AM without a mistake.
      ( after 0600 AM who cares.. that would be coffee time 😃 )

    Question, I just measured my wrist and it's 6.5 max but closer to 6 1/4. Cant decide on the Jumbo (JDD automatic) or this one with the cool coating and 41. Seems like we have similar wrists.
    I'm not a watch guy, don't know much but I was issued one of these (much cheaper plastic version by marathon) in Iraq 2003 when I was 19 haha. I unfortunately broke it and have been watchless for a few yrs, figured I'd like to have something on my wrist again.

      mr bacchus I don't know the answer but I can say that my GSAR is more accurate than any other 2824 I've owned. Maybe it is luck or maybe it's their regulation. Mine runs around +6s/d.

    • @mrbacchus6127
      @mrbacchus6127 6 років тому

      Dr. Tautology I assume its standard grade and unregulated unless stated otherwise or a current owner has actually checked. Still a great watch, just wish it had a bit upgraded movement for the money.

    • @TautologyTechSystems
      @TautologyTechSystems 6 років тому +1

      mr bacchus They are definitely regulated and +6s/d is excellent for a 2824. I believe specs for the 2824 are between -15 and +20. If it's not COSC the there is no real guarantee of accuracy outside of the specs of the movement.

      Fiat justitia ruat cælum it has to be there because of the tritium. It’s not radioactive to a degree that it would harm you tho. But regulations require the logo to be there so people don’t complain after saying they didn’t know tritium was radioactive. Capiche??

      Shipmate Army vet, I saw one on a SERE instructor, which makes sense since he was teaching, among other folks, government search and rescue personnel, and this is of course the Marathon GSAR. Not the kind of thing you'd find commonly on typical seaman or soldier. I picked one up on my own dime for the extra security of not needing batteries on long deployments, which started my passion for watches.

    • @shipmate3577
      @shipmate3577 6 років тому

      Glad that you noticed the watch. I remember going through SERE school in Coronado and don't remember watches. Of course it was in February ~15 years ago. I just find people saying any watch is a military issue watch as misleading. SOF and regular force guys buy whatever suits them - not issued crap for watches.

      When someone like yourself releases the most informative videos on watches on youtube and still manage to get dislikes it does get to ME.
      Here is my theory:
      1. Other watch youtubers with less subs 'dislike' your videos as it excites them to give you a thumbs down after all the effort you put to make thousands of people happy.
      2. Someone has been commissioned to taint your perfect image (Yes, i have seen all your videos, and you have got it down to a science on how to make the perfect watch video)
      3. They don't 'dislike' the video, they just dislike YOU, because you can pull off wearing two wrist watches and still look like a Boss.
      To conclude,,, Besides releasing great videos you are a really a stand up guy who stands behind what he sells and have the qualities of the perfect business man. You inspire myself and I am sure many others on how an ideal human being should be.
      Thank you for your time & mind Marc.
