I have the 41mm version of this (GSAR) in auto. I really love it. However, with small wrists I think the MSAR is better.. BUT.. having seen one in person, I have some interesting take aways. The first, is that the auto version of the smaller MSAR is still 14mm thick (same as the larger 41mm version) However, the quartz version is less at 12.2mm and THIS makes a big difference on the smaller MSAR! It works MUCH MUCH better on the wrist in that smaller size. It's too bad that both versions of the 41mm are still 14mm thick. I do think this is a bit of "lazyness" from Marathon, as they have proven they can make it thinner with the quartz movement. Anyway, the other important thing, is the markings. The quartz version is MUCH clearer on the hashes for the min. track. vs. the super thin (useless) markings on all of the autos. That was very shocking to see side by side in person. Big, difference. So, in the end I think that the quartz version of this watch (MSAR) makes far more sense all things considered. If someone wants the auto, best to get the larger 41mm version, as the dimensions are a bit more proportional, to that size (14mm thick on a larger watch is not as bad as 14mm thick on the smaller one).

I’m the Valerie who commented on the watch, as shown in your video - I still love this watch so much! I eventually upgraded to the steel bracelet, it looks so nice on my wrist.

Right after being charged the lume will of course appear brighter. But in more realistic conditions, like checking your watch in the middle of the night, tritium beats the lume by a long shot.

Depends on the lume and how it’s applied, tritium manufacturing has variability too but Swiss (mb-microtec) is superior.

You get a 👍, but if I were to get a marathon watch, I'd have to get the Jumbo for my 7 1/2 inch wrist.

Great video I like how you compare the Marathon right next to the 0040 which I own and is one of my favorite watches. I do really like the Marathons as well but it's the case thickness that prevents me from buying - the 0040 is extremely wearable, and I like it's design queues better than the SKX. The lume is fantastic on the Citizen but to be fair to the Marathon, at 3 in the morning my 0040 has dimmed out while the Marathan will maintain that gentle tridium glow that can be read all night long.

Thank you sir. I love both of these watches. They both have their own charm.

I asked on some one elses channel, i hear it mentioned a lot. That a bracelet with a taper is good and they prefer a bracelet that tapers, just like you say in this video. But i never understood why. Why is it you like a taper? I personally dont mind if it tapers or if its flat. I never got the reason, unlike short lugs, which i understand.

I like it because it’s more elegant, more comfortable, less weight… that’s about it 😉

the 36mm looks great on your wrist, I am considering getting it at this size. Could you tell me what size your wrist is?

@@GadgetsforGentlemen thank you! i've got a 6.5 inch wrist and i'm having a hard time figuring out which one would be best for me. the 36 or the 41mm i feel like one may be too small and one may be too big i really wish their was a 38 or 40

I agree with you! Why don’t you try out the Tudor BB58? Near perfect dimensions.

@@GadgetsforGentlemen that is a very beautiful watch but unfortunately way out of my price range, even with the marathon im going to have to save for a while. I'm also looking for a tool watch and one with radium tubes you can always see at night. Maybe ill try both of them on somewhere before buying. I have an orient mako 2 which is 41.5mm case so maybe the bigger marathon will fit okay.

Fair points. Do pay in mind that the Marathon is quite thick and heavy. Hence I would personally go for the smaller one in terms of more comfort wearing it all day.

I have the 46 and even that wears small. The 36 is waaaaaaaay too small.
