I love every role Bill Paxton plays. Almost all those characters were in The Terminator. Bishop, Hudson and the marine chick were all in the movie "Near Dark" together too.
Hrag Farra, Frailty is a great movie too!! Again Bill Paxton. Near dark is way older so he's still younger. Seeing all of them together in that movie was awesome. Wasn't Bishop in the movie pumpkin head too? Another crazy classic from my older days lol.
Yes, I've seen Near Dark as well, good film. Fun Facts: Janette Goldstein (Pvt. Vasquez) was in T2 and Michael Biehn (Cpl. Hicks) was in Terminiator as well. Paxton and Biehn were also in Navy SEALS, Tombstone and Lords Of Discipline together.
There's no way Hudson got impregnated. Ripley never ran into him when searching for Newt, and even if he was still there, there was simply no time. Much like why the deleted scene with Burke stayed on the cutting room floor. I've not played Aliens: Colonial Marines. I might at some point just to see what all the fuss is about with the game... but I don't care what it says. There's no way that hive or anything in it survived such a massive, thermonuclear explosion.
Exactly. Problem with the more modern creations after Aliens is they became stupid and not well though out. I prefer the older movies because they had a sense of realism to them. The new movies defy physics and gravity. Hudson either was killed by the aliens or taken back to the hive. Either way they were all obliterated in the Thermo nuclear detonation. If Face huggers laid an egg in Hudson it would have taken at least half a day and then time after to explode out of his chest. Just look at the time lapse on the first Alien movie. Either way the new movies are just fake. 1&2 were all that counted. Part 3 did poorly at the theaters. It was a bad script.
Seemed like odd ret-conning as I would think Weyland-Yutani would pretty much try to sweep the whole incident under the rug with some kind of cover story about the Marines and base being lost in a freak reactor accident and no mention of the xenomorphs having been there, but maybe there is some canon stuff that word got out despite Weyland-Yutani probably trying to squash it.
Before being dragged down, Hudson shoots underneath him. I always though this must have created quite the acid pool/spray that he came in contact with after being dragged down. It might have killed him but at the least, injured him, badly. Maybe to the point he was left there to die by the aliens. I never felt that he survived to be cocooned. He wasn't going out like that and it showed in the film.
In my mind, I always thought that the Xenomorphs would do their best to capture you. But if you put up too much resistance they would kill you, as the birth of a new Xeno is not worth the risk to individual or even Hive. In Hudsons case, I always assumed he either shot and wounded the Xenormorph, causing him to be killed or mortally wounded by the subsequent acid. Or he missed and the Xeno killed him to prevent injury to itself or the Hive. It was always a discussion my friends and I would always have...... In the end, I think it's more fitting for him that his end was not to be cocooned in my opinion.
I agree, furthermore i would think the Aliens are intelligent enough to conclude even with out the queen instructions to kill armed resistors like Predators are too, yeah Hudson is dead likely, if not died of wounds due to acid burns or alien retaliation!
apparently it was made canon by fox as it was supposed to be a "great game to honour the franchise" but after the trash fire that was shitboxes colonial marines it aint canon to me
I too thought it was pendejo at first, until I learned the word dayho was actually a military slang word, and then became confused. Does "pendejo" show up in the script?
I like to think Hudson died in operations. One thing I like to say is, "Hudson may have whined like a bitch, but he didn't go out like one." He fought the whole way out.
Hudson had by far, the best lines in the movie. Comedy at it's finest. Bill Paxton was perfect for the role. Nobody else could have done the part as well.
kingwou Apparentley the planet "didn't actually explode" and it was schemed by Weyland somehow. And Hicks didn't die either (only decent thing they did even though how they did it was still stupid). I just kinda like to disregard EVERYTHING that happened after Aliens 2... As far as I know the base blew up and Ripley, Hicks, and Newt are all living happily on a moisture farm in Tatooine... Wait...
CatheteriZedEYE to bad he didn't know the team was intended to bring back a live specimen...and thus the firepower had to stay in its racks. The moment you realize someone has changed the same rules of the game without telling you: game over man!
When you take the symbolism of Aliens into account I think his end should be that he died in battle. He is portrayed as a hero. He starts off cocky and immature, breaks down, collects himself and sacrifices himself for the group. An end where he, despite all his efforts, god basically raped an misused as an incubator subverts all his prior efforts. This is where Aliens: Colonial Marines is irresponsible. It's downright cruel and from a narrative point of view nonsensical to depict his corpse in that way.
Like a xeno would give a fuck about that. They only care about one thing: get more hosts. And since they managed to snatch him they went with the usual procedure. He was might be host of the raven.
I get what you're getting at. Hudson was a loveable character, and he deserved a Heroic end. But it IS Aliens were dealing with, and nothing about them, or the franchise, is fair. Even Neut Hicks and Ripley met their fates to these cruel creatures. The whole point to the universe is that no one gets a safe pass. It's just the nature of the universe.
***** We don't know that. He took down quite a lot of Aliens before he got dragged down. Can you say for certain that one (or more) of those Aliens wouldn't have advanced and pounced at one of the characters, had Hudson not taken them out first?
This was an inside joke between the actors. The woman who played Vasquez literally thought the film was about illegal aliens when she went to the audition. Always makes me laugh.
Aliens: Colonial marines is not canon, it was pissed on by gearbox, and whored out to multiple studios who further butchered it. It was a lie from day one, so is its place in the Alien Universe as canon.
Sheffield Dave They did when it came out, but it no longer is canon. It's been subsequently ignored by the novels, comics and The Weyland-Yutani Report.
TangoPlays so you’re just cool with Hicks being dead then? Cuz that’s why I personally believe it’s canon. Michael Biehn shouldn’t have been killed off like they did in Alien 3.
Sir, after watching the bulk majority of your videos it has become self evident to me that YOU sir are simply genius... keep up the good work. You are on Par with the author of the Top5 videos and that is high as it gets....
This movie easily has my all-time number one slot for best movie ever. It's got everything in it. Science fiction, suspense, horror, comedy, amazing set production, original storyline, and a badass cast.
Hudson was always my favorite CM he was indeed very relatable in the fact that when we let fear sink in we act rash and cold. But when we are face to face with it many of us I feel would do just what Hudson did. A blaze of glory indeed. It’s nice to know he was decorated after this, it is some how refreshing to know his final stand was acknowledged by more than just the viewers. Also as much as I would want to believe he was killed in mercy, the fact remains the xenomorph doesn’t kill automatically and there is a very strong chance that Hudson may have been wounded but not killed making the CM game a more fitting end to the story. Tho again I emphasize the i really wish he was killed in mercy
"maybe you haven't been keepin' up with currant events pal, but we just got our asses kicked" the line is so memorable and possibly my favorite from the whole franchise.
Favorite Hudson moment: him looking over the grid and asking Smoking or Non Smoking? (A great joke in 1986 that makes little sense for some folks in 2017)
I still have the habit of saying to the hostess at a restaurant that I want a non-smoking table, and the young one's always look at me like "what are you talking about."
Romie I've always wondered that lol and in resurrection there is a deleted alternate ending that shows the Ripley 8 clone and call android on earth after landing and they are close to a demolished Paris, France lol I know because it looks wrecked and there is the effiel Tower lol.
Romie Alien Theory you should talk about how Earth might look like in that universe. Did global warming fucked the planet. Did we fucked the planet with wars?
I don’t have a favourite Hudson moment. Every single second he was on screen was gold. Bill Paxton absolutely blew it out of the water with his performance. Transitioning from the clown, to the self proclaimed badass, to vulnerable and then going out as a real badass.
With all the fuss going on around Hudson's death, I always assumed there wasn't enough left of him to be cocooned. They might be able to grab colonists, kids and Burke, but a Marne while there is still a breath in him is a serious threat. My take on it. BTW I love it when you read aloud to us. LL🇨🇦✝️
Most of the marines in the film took the first names of their real life names. Since Bill is usually short for William, his name most likely would have been William Hudson and not Wayne Hudson. But it was never given in the film so ... it could've been Wayne!
Bill Paxton was perfect as Hudson. Nobody could have done it better. Absolutely the right man for the job. Great job on choosing actors for this film. I really can't picture anyone who you could replace to make a better film. Great job everyone who worked in or on this movie. Absolutely entertaining.
Hudson was such a great archetype of basic humanity. Strong and confident exterior, and though quick to fold under pressure he upheld a basic instinct to do the right thing. He saved newt and even took many Xenomorphs with him in the conflagration before his capture. I don't see him as a tragic character, but he lived up to his 'Ultimate Badass' title, because he still earned the respect of his fellow soldiers when push came to shove.
I think the best part about his death scene is that we finally get to see why the others always put up with his shit. He's one of the best fighters they have when it hits the fan.
Aliens CM? Erm. No. Didn't happen. Erase. Worst game ever. Everyone forgets that Hudson had all types of weapons, including a knife. I like to think he was taken away alive and gooped up but before a facehugger got to him he managed to reach his knife and slowly cut his way out. The Queen leaves and there are no Xeno's around him so he manages to escape... what happened after that we don't know, but I like to think he had one final 'Continue' after his original Game Over. #RIPBillPaxton
We know what happened, the place was nuked. What ever happened he would have died in the explosion and yeah colonial marines was shit and defo isnt cannon, it doesnt even make the slightest bit of sense.

RIP BILL Paxton all round nice guy and will be greatly missed... "Hudson sir he's Hicks" " Hey Ripley don't worry me and my squad of ultimate bad asses will protect you"..... "" Hudson what is that? I'm not making that out too well?..., you tell me man I only work here"......"Where's Apone? the sarge is gone let's get the fuck outta here"
I love every role Bill Paxton plays. Almost all those characters were in The Terminator. Bishop, Hudson and the marine chick were all in the movie "Near Dark" together too.
Near Dark is such a great vampire movie and a cool mini reunion for Aliens. Obligatory viewing for fans IMO.
Alien Theory, yes they should! It's a great movie. That bar scene with Bill Paxton "finger lickin good" ..It was great to see them together again.
Never seen that before thanks :D! Frailty is another great movie.. he directed it as well and it's a mind fuck :O.
"Were on a express elevator to hell going down."
EmptySoul01 I always remember that quote moment when I travel in a plane. lol
Ramón E. Serrano Cardona Now I will too...
"WooooooHooooo!!!"
"Somebody wake up Hicks..." lol
EmptySoul01 If he only knew how right he was !
"You're dog meat, pal!" - Hudson
There's no way Hudson got impregnated. Ripley never ran into him when searching for Newt, and even if he was still there, there was simply no time. Much like why the deleted scene with Burke stayed on the cutting room floor.
I've not played Aliens: Colonial Marines. I might at some point just to see what all the fuss is about with the game... but I don't care what it says. There's no way that hive or anything in it survived such a massive, thermonuclear explosion.
A cloud of vapor the size of Nebraska.
@@spectre1702 nebraska
Mike Adams Thank you
It's a bad game.
And utterly absurd that so much I'd intact.
Hudsons fate is shown
It's bittersweet but still a nice touch, to know that Hudson was awarded for gallantry under fire.
I can imagine the best Hudson quote EVER would be what he would say if he knew he would be killed and later get a medal for it.
I go for Hicks with the mercy kill.
He also might have unintentionally shot himself in the legs or feet
my favorite Hudson quote " not funny man " lmaoo 😂 😂 😂
Stop screwin around...
"With those things running around, you can count me out"
-Hudson
Guess we'll count you out of anything
THAT'S RIGHT MAN!
@@z_855turboR bishop should go! Good idea!
Hudson " Why don't we put her in charge?" My favorite line! He probably was cocooned 😰
Aliens: Colonial marines is not Canon, Hudson died in "Action".
Hudson never died. He bcame Wilks.
Agreed too much fire went down for that alien attacker to have survived.
apparently it was made canon by fox as it was supposed to be a "great game to honour the franchise" but after the trash fire that was shitboxes colonial marines it aint canon to me
Colonial Marines is actually still canon, officially speaking. I'm just as upset as you.
@Mr Nix No Hicks became Wilkes.
"He's comin' in... I feel safer already."
"Dayho jerk off."
I too thought it was pendejo at first, until I learned the word dayho was actually a military slang word, and then became confused. Does "pendejo" show up in the script?
I looked up the script. She indeed says pendejo.
"Hey, Sarge, you know you get lip cancer smokin' those!" - Hudson
His scenes with Apone were the best! :-)
I don't care how short you are, Hudson, just get it done!
Look into my eye lol love that line I know not Hudson’s line but still awesome
@Ryan S Look into my eye= See how many fucks I give. 🤣😂
Just started watching all your Alien videos. Lots of info on the series I didn't even know existed. Great channel!
This channel has true potential. Keep up the good work bro! I believe in you.
Thanks for your kinds words, I really appreciate it. More videos to come.. :)
Lets just entirely disregard colonial marines... I'd like to see how anything survived that large nuclear explosion...
mihajlo525 nothing could of survived. Colonial mariens is bullshit
Nathan b Not only is the game just complete garbage it's mere existence just goes against the canon.
mihajlo525 the game is cannon, and one of my favorite games
Alex Boehm explain me then how does all the structure/body's remain evenn After the nucleaar blast.
kingwou Apparentley the planet "didn't actually explode" and it was schemed by Weyland somehow. Wait...
My favourite character.
"Yeah, Bishop should go. Good idea"
Yeah I definitely don’t count Colonial Marines as canon; I just tell my self Hicks managed to shoot him as he was being dragged down.
Hudson : Hey Vasquez , have you ever been mistaken for a MAN ??!
Vasquez: No , .... Have You ??
Hudson"well there was that one time back on earth in college but I don't want to talk about"
Hey vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man?- Hudson
matthew haddock no, have you?
Saigo_no_ AK lol nice
matt ditka so many great lines and moments in the movie. I absolutely can't pick a favorite.
Saigo_no_ AK I know right love this movie!
matt ditka aliens and terminator 2 are probably my two favorite sci-fi movies of all time.
best hudson moment was the speech when you first meet the team and he runs down the whole gang of badasses as well as the weapons
CatheteriZedEYE to bad he didn't know the team was intended to bring back a live specimen...and thus the firepower had to stay in its racks.
The moment you realize someone has changed the same rules of the game without telling you: game over man!
"...sharp sticks, sonic electronic BALLBREAKERS!"
'Alright knock it off Hudson"!
Rubashow It's xenomorphs. I don't think his corpse would be displayed beautifully.
Or it just adds more weight to his sacrifice, you know, seeing how much he suffered.
"Right, right...somebody said alien, she thought they said illegal alien and signed up" LOL
This was an inside joke between the actors. The woman who played Vasquez literally thought the film was about illegal aliens when she went to the audition. Always makes me laugh.
Anytime anywhere
@MrAdammassacre yup! Can see her 'normal' look in Terminator 2. She's John Connors mum.
"Hey Bishop, do the knife thing"
"Hey, what are you doing man??"
"Not me man!"
"Whaaaaaaaa aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
"That wasn't funny man!"
What do you mean THEY cut the power? How can they cut the power man? They're animals!! lmao this guy was so funny
Daniel Lockaby More like species
How did they?
sure 'bout that, mr. badass? They are sentient enough, but still is perfect bio-weapon.
Aliens: Colonial marines is not canon, it was pissed on by gearbox, and whored out to multiple studios who further butchered it. It was a lie from day one, so is its place in the Alien Universe as canon.
Well put, well put :)
20 century fox confirms Aliens: Colonial marines is official canon.....
@Professor Bearington they explain it but it's terrible.
"We're on an express elevator to hell. Goin down."
No truer words have been spoken.
Didn't know just how accurate he was at that moment did he?! 🙃 One of my faves as well.
" How do i get out of this Chicken Shit outfit ?? " ....
Yeah Man, but it's a dry heat!
Knock it off Hudson!
Alright! People get HOT! ...somebody wake up Hicks
How do I get out of this chicken shit outfit?

+Jorgie Luquin You heard the man! Assholes and elbows! Hudson! Come here. Come here!
LOOK INTO MY EYE
hey Sarge, you get lip cancer smoking those
PantsuMann I say we grease this ratfuck son of a bitch right now!
Video idea pitch : "What is Earth like during the events of The Alien movies?"
I agree from what I've seen in Aliens comics
I'd love a video about this as well. In Resurrection, Ron Pearlman's character referred to Earth as a shithole, I think lol.
CarpeDiemCourt yeh i think he says "earth men .... what a shithole!"
I don’t have a favourite Hudson moment. Every single second he was on screen was gold. Bill Paxton absolutely blew it out of the water with his performance. Transitioning from the clown, to the self proclaimed badass, to vulnerable and then going out as a real badass.
1:05 "a blaze of glory and foul languish" I love that one!
I choose to believe he died a heroic death in Ops.
With all the fuss going on around Hudson's death, I always assumed there wasn't enough left of him to be cocooned. They might be able to grab colonists, kids and Burke, but a Marne while there is still a breath in him is a serious threat. My take on it.
BTW I love it when you read aloud to us. LL🇨🇦✝️
It always makes me smile when I see, "HUDSON, W." in the helmet cam monitors, considering my name.
Wayne Hudson No wonder you hate illegal aliens so much. 😅
Most of the marines in the film took the first names of their real life names. Since Bill is usually short for William, his name most likely would have been William Hudson and not Wayne Hudson. But it was never given in the film so ... it could've been Wayne!
Shark Bait Oh, I know about the William thing, it's just jarring every time I see "W. Hudson".
"You tell me man. I only work here."
Bishop's knife trick: "It wasn't funny, man"
"We've got nukes, we've got knives, we've got sharp sticks!"
Bill Paxton was perfect as Hudson. Nobody could have done it better. Absolutely the right man for the job. Great job on choosing actors for this film. I really can't picture anyone who you could replace to make a better film. Great job everyone who worked in or on this movie. Absolutely entertaining.
He said the Colonial Marines got sharp sticks. That line immediately sold me that Hudson was the ultimate bad ass
"Maybe we got them demoralized!" was my favorite Hudson line. Perfect line for his character!
"I say we bug out and call it even..."
“Well that’s great.... We’re in some real pretty shit now man!” -Hudson
If I was in their shoes this is exactly something I would say! Lol
His character was brilliant, one of the best in the film.
Glad i subscribed to this channel, the narrator is beyond epic and is feeding my brain with delicious background info and speculations :P
The only actor killed by a Terminator, a Predator, and an Alien.
the graphics are so bad in colonial marines, you can barely tell it's hudson. easy excuse
Ehh, you find a weapon near the corpse that states it's Hudson's pulse rifle.
SHHHH
cuz acm is shit
XenoPop wrong. It's One of my favorite games.
Well the crazy thing on Hudson's model in ACM was that he had gloves? lol I'm like I think the devs got lazy or something.
Rest In Peace Bill Paxton, one. Of my favourite actors. You will always live on.
"Don't worry, me and my squad of ultimate badasses will protect you."- Pvt Hudson, the Ultimate Badass #RIPBillPaxton
I think the best part about his death scene is that we finally get to see why the others always put up with his shit. He's one of the best fighters they have when it hits the fan.
I love how huge The lure of aliens is.
Everybody has a backstory. And even after
You hear about their medals.
Bill Paxton was an amazing actor.
R.I.P
"We're on an express elevator to hell, going down!"
"Maybe we got 'em demoralized!" - Hudson, from the deleted Sentry Guns scene.
Shut up!
RIP Hudson and Bill Paxton. It is never game over.
"Stop your grinnin', and drop your linen"
Looks like my English isn’t that good. Do you mind explaining this expression briefly?
@@Wonders_of_Reality don't know either sorry. just one of his funny lines. Linen could mean underwear maybe.
@@localjams I remember the line. Alright, thanks anyway! I know, there are expressions that sound cool, but no one knows what exactly they mean.
Aliens CM? Erm.
#RIPBillPaxton
but if you pretend CM did happen then Hicks survived and the crushed corpse in Alien 3 is a Wei-yu PMC
nice theory but he'd still undoubtedly be dead the whole place exploded at the end
We know what happened, the place was nuked. What ever happened he would have died in the explosion and yeah colonial marines was shit and defo isnt cannon, it doesnt even make the slightest bit of sense.
Worst game ever? Bullshit on UA-cam!
@gerbenvanessen - Ah, but you're assuming Alien 3 happened.....I don't.
