Exactly. You should know and be able to articulate the things you've accomplished, the ideas you've put into action that worked, etc. It is also a skill to know when and how to mention these things (and WHO to mention them to). So much advice for women misses the point and mischaracterizes the traits that help men succeed. They always seem to encourages women to be obnoxious, rude, and condescending when they actually need to be more confident, firm, competitive, and vocal.

3:40.. Real talk Jeannie. I'm child of Indian Immigrant parents and only now at 22 I've been asking those questions because they have never been volunteered to me. Hearing my parents story, and listening how they struggled, my father alone in a new country and my mother alone with a new born baby... it made me cry... Just to talk to each other my mom had to be to travel to separate location up to top of the building to call my father and talk for a few minutes. At this point they had been married for like a year or two and known each other for that exact time as well. So much more to their story obviously, but it is super important to ask them about their pain that brought me my privilege.

Dajia Star that meiment when this was filmed the same day as Amanda’s first day as an official co host... I think it’s more about giving time to gel... we’re not gonna force anything l this is the real for a reason... plus depending on convos it allows them to see the many facets of each other... which is why there is a broad range of topics they speak on

I’m so happy to see a woman from Asian Culture able to talk about Asian issues and make the talk relatable to all cultures with all the voices at the table. With that being said, I’ve had long talks with my mom on how she got to America and why she is where she is now. She went through so many hardships and later had to do it all by herself with two kids. I’m so proud of her. The hustle is real for Asian immigrants.

If anything the show’s producers are the ones who are at fault because they come up with the topics and as soon as Amanda was brought to the show they made a lot of topics about race. She spoke on it (which they wanted her to do because that’s what they hired her for) and it came across like Amanda was turning The Real into The View when really she was just talking about what they were told to talk about . When they saw how much backlash they were getting they decided to tone the topics down. Tameras' and Andriens' point resonated with me more.. esp with reading a spiritual enlightening book... bragging is a way of feeding the ego. People wonder how and why egos get so big.. well thats the desire to continuously want more, aka never being enough.. so if u feel the need to constantly achieve something to then go down go down a list.. its the exact opposite of secure. And it doesnt just stop there. People begin to believe they can do anything and say whatever they want and get away with it because of those same achievements. All that is, is a form of "I" .

It depends on who's in the room. If it's a room full of egotistical men or women, you may be forced to brag. But it's not about bragging. It's about strategy. But to successfully execute your strategy, you have to be patient and humble. Ahhh.
I let the big mouths do their all talk first ( that may take forever. ) I wait for for the perfect moment to drop the big verse. It has to be bigger than the big mouth's, or else you'll fall harder than a mic drop in a rap battle. Be humble.

    • @vlo4829

Yes. Sometimes It's as simple as dropping statements like, "Last week, I told you all..." then remind them what you contributed LAST time, and then show them how you've amped up during the week. Now you've put the bigwigs on notice and laid out for them what your contributions are and what more you're about to bring without being rude or condescending or off-putting.

A lot of people like to think that they're "humbly talking about their accomplishments" as a way to justify bragging. Unless you're inspiring people, trying to elevate your career, or talking to your friends/family, you are bragging. They don't realize that other people are just as self-centered as them and really don't give a damn about hearing what others accomplished nor boosting someone's ego. Or maybe that's just me.

I don't brag and I don't even talk about my accomplishments with confidence, but I had to learn to talk about them because people weren't taking me seriously in the workplace. I would go pitch my ideas to producers and they'd be like "???" because I look 16 years old. So I started going "Hi, I've been doing this for X years, I won This Award, I got This Degree and this is my project..." and THEN they'd listen and become interested. So I don't believe you should brag, but women should definitely lose their fear of openly celebrating their accomplishments with confidence.
