Yes, but unless YOU own the company or have stock in it ...why should you care? You just another employee....I cant stand when employees try to scrutinize or shame a return. At the end of the day, if she got her receipt, she's within the time limit and you cant tell it was worn, it shouldn't matter.
Tui Ohana true, however there are a lot of people who don’t have the receipt, try and return things over 90 days (some even years), and people who wanna return things with obvious worn on them or tags cut off and they do this regularly and make a scene if you don’t return it. They’re the ones who cause the shame associated with returning.
@@PolynesianPrincessa I've worked retail before. Sometimes you don't SEE signs of wear (no food stains, etc.), but you SMELL it. I had a customer return an item with a STRONG cigarette smell & there was a gray haze on the fabric with white deodorant stains. She swore she only tried it on. I rejected the return, but the manager approved it. It was nasty. I refused to touch the garment.
Tui Ohana no one is shaming a standard return. But when an item has been worn and can even now smell or have stains, then as a HUMAN being it’s very annoying that they’re getting their wear out of MULTIPLE items without having to pay for them. What about all the other customers who are spending their money on these clothes, while this bih is getting away with wearing everything and not paying for sh*t. Unfair, disrespectful, and shameful.

Haya V : I shop mainly online. I avoid purchasing clothes that is “Final Sales/No return”. It’s usually a red flag that the clothing is poorly constructed or sized. The items are often very tempting markdowns but it’s a gamble not in your favor.
The store I worked at in high school had daily goals for each person set by corporate. I usually know what I want before I purchase something. I almost never return because of that alone. But I can understand the return situation for online shoppers - like Tamera’s example. I get it.
Sooo true. My 1st hubby would buy more than we could afford to look like a "big spender" and then make me return it so we could get food or essentials. I still a whole new life later struggle to return anything.
That's crazy that Adrienne wouldn't just go and get her money back. Like how does she know the people who she is giving these clothes to are actually using them? It's basically a money donation to the clothing stores. SMH.
I use to never return stuff due to laziness. But I realize settling for something I don't like is not a good habit to have lol. So now, I do return asap.
For a girl who came from humble beginnings, doesn’t seem like Adrienne values money too much. If you want your money back, you won’t let laziness/forgetfulness stop you. But I’m Amanda 100%! When I return something, I check my account to make sure the refund went through 😁.
I HATE trying on clothes in the store. But I wear so few brands I can generally guess my size in most clothes. If it doesn’t fit, I’m always going to try to return things but you can’t always do that. Sometimes clothes don’t work for me but I know my sister or mom might want it so I try to give it to them first.
Yes I feel bad, like burdening the shop staff & it's sometimes too much effort. But I will go return stuff if I need to coz my money is so precious, my blood, sweat & tears!
I never try on clothes, I prefer to try it on at home! If it doesn’t fit I have sisters my sizes or I take it to goodwill if I don’t have time to return it.
What about shame in returning food at a restaurant when it’s too cold or made wrong or just taste nasty? I can return things to target all day but at a restaurant, my anxiety could never.
I work in retail, returns are the most frustrating thing. I won’t return unless it’s faulty, I always try on clothes, because I know the person in the store doesn’t want to deal with my returns.
Thats an AMAZING business idea! If someone came to my house, picked up the stuff I don’t want and returned it for me, I would absolutely let them keep 25%. They could etransfer me the remaining 75%
See I work a returns area. I domt mind people returning things at all. Just certain things make me cringe or get irritated. If you are returning something and your place has roaches(not judging because I grew up in apartments that had them) make sure the product and box are clean and roach free. The other thing I hate is people bringing back underwear, I understand the don't fit but put the pair you tried on in a separate bag or in the package where I do not have to touch them.
I return things PROUDLY!! Nothing to be ashamed of. If you don't like it, return it. Or exchange it. If it wasn't expensive, I'll give away. But if it's expensive, I'm in line with receipt ready
social anxiety makes it challenging to return things for me. I worry about how I am going to ask for what I need and what the person will say when I ask for a return. I love emails for this purpose. The face to face interaction kills me.
It depends if I really need it, and if I have shoppers remorse. But I don't feel ashamed to return something that I bought. If it does not work out, it's just does not work out. But I don't like it's when it's holiday season like Thanksgiving and Christmas time, and you see that long line at the customers services desk. Or even after the holidays are over it's worst!
I used to have it but I had to get over it when I bought a big ass tv and it was cracked when I opened it 😭 also, I used to be bigger and I NEVER wanted to return clothes that ended up being too small for me bc I gained more weight. Now, shirts will be too big for me so I’m happy to go exchange for a smaller size it makes me feel confident.
The only thing I’ll never return is a mildly incorrect food order , for example a caramel frappe instead of a mocha frappe because I hate confrontation so bad lmao. I let my siblings return it for me or my mom.
I hate trying on clothes too. It's such a hassle to take off your clothes and have to do it twice. Not to mention, someone else probably tried it on too 😷 shopping for clothes is just a weird experience lol
Omggg this is so bad but my family when we were broke used to take costumes from party city trash cans and return them for cash. In our defense, they throw out those cheap ass 5$ made costumes if they have the tiniest unnoticeable tear, so we’d just get them and be like “there’s a hole” and they’d give us the cash.
It depends on the item. I would not say shame, but more of a nervousness that comes with confronting the sales person for a return. In some stores, they try very hard to convince you to rather exchange, and that whole situation is really uncomfortable when asking for a return. And before I worked in retail, I did not know that the customer is entitled to their money if they are dissatisfied with a product. Thought that the best case is an exchange, thus I would not ask for the money back. Plus, I would feel wrong for returning something I have worn a few times.
My mom and I used to be embarrassed. Until we went to Costco and saw someone return a half eaten rotisserie chicken and they got all their money back 😂💀 now we return whatever lol
A sounds crazy but tbh thats me too! But another reason for me as to why I don’t return is bc I’m waiting for it to fit me 😂 and then I give up and give it away. With tags and everything. Sometimes weather or not the 30 are over 🤷🏽♀️
I feel Adrienne. Returning is a hassle imo but like I got this electric toothbrush from sams club, and it literally just didn’t work. Wouldn’t turn on after “charging” so in that case even tho I so don’t want to cuz I’m lazy, I have to or else I would just be wasting money. Always try on clothes so I don’t have to go back when it doesn’t fit !
I'm a manager at a retail store and we lose a lot of money from people returning and when people return just to get money back it can get very frustrating because that means my check will be lower, I encourage people to please think about us retail workers and exchange instead of return
Yes I do have shame return. I believe it’s something I had since I was a little girl, when my mom send me to buy something and I brought something else She ask me to bring it back, I feel awful, the look on people’s face when I bring the thing back. This is a real thing and I’ve been deeply affect by it. I will never return anything no matter the cause.
I do feel shame and also anxiety when I return stuff, so I always procrastinate doing it and then 9/10 times it would be past those 30 days, so I end up with something I don't like.. I know im wasting my money but I truly hate it.
Ask someone who works in retail. Retail workers have to deal with Chronic Returners. These people impulse buy, then get buyers regret after and return it. I have seen people who have returned an entire shopping cart. And they'll do it EVERY WEEK!
Most ppl make sure they like something 100% before they buy something.... so that they do not have to go back to the place they just came from to return an item or wait for the money to be back in your account. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ maybe that's just me idk.
I always try on clothes at the store and majority of the time it doesn't fit right. I would rather try it on instead of get home and find out it doesn't fit and then have to return it. I hate shopping also...
@@twillybbe Foreal I'm like let me try this on cause I got other stuff to worry about than having to return something. Nope, ain't got no time for that! My time is precious haha

I’m Amanda in this scenario. I am watching my account for my return money 😂
K Lo - I save my receipts when it comes to returns and at the end of the month I reconcile my bank account to make sure the return was successful 🤪
Yeah! Target I’m waiting for my damn refund. It’s been three weeks now .
I just hate how the store workers look annoyed when you try to return, like its a crime. The discomfort I'll pass if its something small
Cause some stores if you return an item depending on it they lose money cause they have to damage it out as not reselable
I've never gotten that. I always imagine that, but it never happens. They are usually happy to reimburse me.

Lol did Jeannie Mai just come up with a brilliant new business idea? 😂
I'm Adrienne in this scenario I will either forget to return or don't do it out of sheer laziness until I need the money
For a girl who came from humble beginnings, doesn’t seem like Adrienne values money too much. If you want your money back, you won’t let laziness/forgetfulness stop you. But I’m Amanda 100%! When I return something, I check my account to make sure the refund went through 😁.
I’m with Amanda. I be checking to see when I get my refund on my card.
I worked part time retail for the first time ever this past holiday season... had ppl return things for .79 CENTS. I was like HUH. 😑
daaaaaannnnng!
If I am not happy with a product or service that I purchased, I DESERVE my hard-earned money back.
I hate trying on clothes too 😭😭 but thank God my size is really consistent so MOST times I can just choose/order clothes and it fits.
YAAASSSSSS Adrienne!! Mystique is my faveee 😂😂 been shopping there since high school.
I'm with Jeannie. Bein broke aint no joke. I gotta try it on BEFORE I buy it...NO TIME to waist money
I rarely return stuff and the one time I did bc it was incomplete, I was mommy shamed and class shamed by a kid's store. Literally made me cry.
Nope, if I don't want it I'm taking it back...I need my money to spend on stuff I need/want.
Just like Amanda, where is my money...and I have a job
I hate trying on clothes too. It's such a hassle to take off your clothes and have to do it twice. Not to mention, someone else probably tried it on too 😷 shopping for clothes is just a weird experience lol
Adrienne I feel ya I hate trying on clothes 🤪🤪 and get mad when they don't fit
I'm Adrienne 😂☺🤭 I get you girl. I've got return laziness. You are not alone!
Ask the people that were hoarding all the tissue? Oops, we can't since Cosco and other companies said NO! 🤣🤣🤣
Until we went to Costco and saw someone return a half eaten rotisserie chicken and they got all their money back 😂💀 now we return whatever lol
how the hell !!
How the f*** do you return a half eaten rotisserie chicken
Tamera is so kind!!! I love her attitude I want her attitude ooh Lord forgive me for the envy
If you’re not kind already, try working on that! You can admire a trait a person has and not envy it!
No shame , give me my money.... I hate trying on clothes if I have on boots and if I just got my hair did...😂😂
I'm a manager at a retail store and we lose a lot of money from people returning and when people return just to get money back it can get very frustrating because that means my check will be lower, I encourage people to please think about us retail workers and exchange instead of return
I’m the same way. It’s so inconvenient having to come back and return. I ain’t got time for that, nor do I wanna make time for that.
@@twillybbe Foreal I'm like let me try this on cause I got other stuff to worry about than having to return something. Nope, ain't got no time for that! My time is precious haha
I have return shame... i hate taking clothes back...I find it to be embarrassing...the only reason I can come up with ,is that I grew up in a place where that wasn't an option...so it has always felt weird to me to return things to a store... I just realised I don't feel that way when I return online purchases through the mail....
