For the speedometer being off, Revlimiter can make you a scaled speedo face that matches your gearing. I was planning on going that route on my NA w/ a 6spd and 3.9 final drive, but with a 4.1 manual speed spender it was pretty much right on.
Nice video, justified staying up late to watch as im replacing a leaky slave and old master tomorrow (today) morning on my 'new' 91 spec miata (has a '99 5 speed trans, ACT 4 puck sprung, redline MTL). Drove it for the first time yesterday and oh man never had so much fun in a car... beautiful steering feel/response and really fuckin loud with headers and only a resonator haha. Can't wait to take it to the track w/ the slicks.

Cant get over how clean your car is, the previous owner of mine painted both subframes like a John Deere green for some reason and its kinda dirty

how many miles would you say you have put on the parts you took out to make the swap ? clutch, fly , exhaust ?
Any plans for the 5 speed you took out? It'll be incredibly interesting and helpful if you did a part 5 video where you take apart the 5 speed to show the input shaft bearing wear/play. I have a nb1 6 speed that makes a terrible noice 40% of the time when engaging first or reserve and always wondered what caused it.
I don't think it was the input shaft making the noise. I'll explain more in a later video.

I just bought a 2006 Miata 5 spd with bad engine (locked) came across this opportunity, owned by a co-worker that didn’t want to fix anymore. I’m doing a research on the 2.5 L swap and was wondering about the 5 spd and 6 spd transmissions...what are the differences between them and which one is better? Should I just swap a 2.5 L along with a 6 spd trans? What trans donor can I use!? Thank you so much for any info I can get.
For your speedometer calibration use:

I believe this modifies your speedometer signal. I will use this when I change my rear end ratio to 4.44 on my 94 Rx-7 with 18's
Hey man question I’m doing the transmission in my 93 Miata and I want to swap a 6 speed in there. I am wondering if they are all compatible. I already changed the drivetrain and differential to 1.8 lsd. I also got the 3.9 Torsen that’s supposed to be for a 6 speed. Have u done this before what do u recommend

Quinn, What were you using to lube up the rear rear main seal before you put it in? (Im getting ready to do a rear main myself, and am trying to figure out the best procedure.)

Are you using an NB1 six speed???? Looks just like mine but I cant find any info or rebuilders for a 99 6 speed from a 10AE. Got it for $350 with 32k miles! Please any info will help!

Will a nc 6 speed manual trans fit in a 2003 nb? (Came with 5 speed)
Not without a bell housing adapter. Not to mention I would be willing to bet the PPF attachment is different as well. Why not just get a regular NB Miata 6 speed that bolts right in?
How is the HF trans Jack working out?
It had an oil seal failure after the first time I used it. I am now on my 2nd unit and it seems to be okay.
I thought the consensus was the 5spd has better ratios?
6 speed holds more power
I wanted to shorten 1-5 a pinch and have a better cruise RPM. The 6 speed accomplishes that having the extra gear.

Yes, as long as you use a 1.6 clutch as well.
