    Love the channel, the NB and that lift! I was on my back, under the '05 from about 6pm last night, until 4am this morning, but made progress with dismantling it! I thought I knew quite a bit about NB's, but learning so much about them from all these videos! Keep'em coming, Quinn!

    This video series inspired me not to try to swap my differential on ramps. Always good to see a new GQM video!

      I figured running stuff would be worth its own video ;)

  • @maffuccimatt45
    @maffuccimatt45 6 років тому

    I'd think the extra bolts are because the transmission isn't directly mounted to the chassis like in most cars. Prolly just a fail safe any added strain if the PPF fails

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  6 років тому

      FD RX-7 mounts the same way and has like 5 bolts total lol

    You are awesome, what do you think about the bronze shifter bushing? Is it worth? Regards from Guatemala :)

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  6 років тому

      Thanks Rodrigo. I have a bronze shifter bushing in my FD and it's not bad and an aluminum unit in my NA Miata. The metal ones definitely feel a little more mechanical, but a fresh nylon just feels so smooth lol. Maybe I'll add one to this car one day. It's not a make or break it mod by any means. Also, the 6 speed ball I learned is bigger and so is the bushing. I'll talk about this more in the next video.

    Have you tried the motorcraft stuff? I really like the way my 5 speed shifts with it, but would love to switch to something more readily available/cheaper like MT90, but not at the expense of crunchiness

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  6 років тому

      I have not. The Redline stuff has worked well for me over the years so I just stuck with it.

    • @tuna6265

      The Motorcraft oil is better for daily and cold starts while the MT90 works awesome when warm and driven hard

    WHat type of undercoat did you use? Is it waxy and self healing?

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  6 років тому

      Rustoleum rubberized undercoating. I've nicked it on a few occasions, but it is easy to touch up.

    Have you ever considered frame rails?

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  6 років тому

      I run them on my turbo NA. The NB is a more rigid chassis and having a roll bar stiffens the car up quite a bit, so I didn't want to add any more weight this car being naturally aspirated.

      I had an issue with the new diff. All will be explained in the next video.
