Really appreciate you uploading this video. Now I know why my 5th gears are notchy. I don't have the space, time, or knowledge to do what you did, but I learned something today that I won't forget! 😊
Nice... i had a similar problem on track where i couldnt engage 5th (4th to 5th) most of the times while cornering or while getting out of the apex. From a research i did found out i was pushing the gear leaver t o much and was engaging the reverse (or reverse button) and from there on you had to get out of the corner repress the clutch and put 5th... solved my problem by buying CAE Ultra Shifter Mazda MX5 NA/NB 6 Speed where it limits the travel of the gear lever for every speed and puts an extra ring/button for reverse. is this fix for the same cause? thank you!
I'm having a bit of a hard time downshifting from 3rd to 2nd on my '91, its very notchy and requires significantly more force than other gears, could a similar issue be happening to mine? Any input from you would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
