I wish you could train my puppy because he’s uncontrollable!
It would be very useful for us if you maybe numbered the episodes. I sometimes watch a few at a time and it’s difficult to keep track of the order :)
@@anvime739 he does mark what episode it is, just not on the title part. Like with the George series (it's very hard to see but- he puts what episode it is in the corner of each video before I press on the video to watch it....I don't know how to explain it, but he could add it onto the title too so it's easier
Like you can see under, "Reality Dog Training " on the picture of the video that it's episode 1
@zak Hey Zak, can you make a video on correcting tricks? Like my dogs sit/down/gimme paw/high five..theyre all sloppy. Sometimes my dog does all the tricks when a treat is in my hand. How do i improve her abilities to do what is asked?
@@icefirewolfodell9946 Thanks/ Yeah its nice that you can see it in the video that is true. I was talking more about the playlists, where is less obvious
I've never read a book so fast! ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU Learning about his dogs and experiences was just the icing on the cake - bed this book through and through. We're working with our new pup and Brandon's advise was just what I needed. Wish he'd just come and train for me haha but it's good for us and happy to have this new set of tools to use on our pup.
THIS IS the dog I just adopted from the shelter. No human interaction previously, apparently. But fearful at first. Now a 60 lb baby 11 month old. She’s learning. Impulse control is the hardest. And I’m 71 so I’m no spring chicken. But I’m committed, so here we go.
kinda same. how is it going? could you work youself through it? :)
It would be great to see a series with a dog that has severe anxieties and fears most thinks. There are lot of dogs like that in shelters that need a home.
I adopted a dog that was scared of pretty much everything and everyone. I had to be creative and find different methods to work with her. When she's scared she doesn't take treats. It was hard but so rewarding to see here change for the best.
I agree. My girl was returned twice to the shelter for behavioral issues. The simple truth is she is scared. Nobody showed her how to live in our world. She has gained 20 pounds and we developed a bond since I adopted her. She is a handful and these reality videos give me hope. Maybe someday we can walk in a normal place with people and dogs...
Same here! It’s so rewarding seeing a fearful dog transition to becoming more confident
Fascinating to see a dog learning sit from a zero start. It’s rare, as owners, we see that, given most breeders, shelters and fosters will have at least taught sit (if nothing else). But spending time with very nervous former street dogs, like many of my clients, these are the starting points for them. It’s all about building a bond. Helping them to learn we are predictable, not scary.
I am working with a dog that has a lot of these traits .. when I met her owner I found out nobody had even taught her sit .. same crazy frustration
Chop is such a good natured rascal like Tramp from LADY AND THE TRAMP. Every new dog you train is more interesting than the last. Please do a series of updates on these dog characters in the future. Top notch entertainment and learn so much at the same time. Perfect!
I applaud you for doing this and responding to the critics who said you only worked with “easy” dogs. Bravo sir!
Chop is a devoted tail wagger (I assume his wagging is a positive). He is also very civil at taking treats.
That's what I was thinking. He must have been raised by a very devoted dam, he has such gentle mouth manners.
Tail wagging just means he is enjoying the activity. I’ve seen dogs snarling, growling, and trying to eat people through a burlap training suit before with their tails just a wagging away………
Chop is learning well so far with minimal distractions. It's amazing to see his progress so far when he really didn't know anything before you got him. I'd be really curious to see what his DNA is for sure. I'm thinking there might be some Shepard in there. Keep up the great work! I know there are challenges coming up, but these videos are so helpful!
I feel like you should have a "guess Chops breeds" before his Embark test :).
I put my guess in the comments because I couldn't remember where they said to guess! 😆
Akita & Alaskan Malamute!!
He's a clever dog. Clever in the sense of being street smart.
I can’t explain how long I feel like Iv been waiting for this
Same here! 😅
Me too. 🐕
Chops mouth is foaming the whole time. I love it. 😆 He must love his treats. 🐺❤️🦴🐾🐕
Really 1up-ing yourself with this series!!! You guys are doing such a good job. Your videos have helped me train my own puppy, now 5 months. There's a lot of work still to do but I always find myself going back to your videos for help.
When I was teaching 'sit' to both my Pomeranians, each of them also would back up instead of sitting. 🙄🐾
Good idea to let him look around. People in Alaska *wants* their dog to scope out the outdoors. That is a very good trait in an Alaskan dog.
Chop following your hands while youre gesticulating has me dying. Lol. His head is bouncing around with every movement. Love it.
I keep having nightmares about that scene where Chop jumps over the balcony railing. Please at least tell us if he is OK!
Me too. I literally gasp when I saw that video. The balcony looks really high. I thought he must have at least injured from the fall. I hope he is ok. HUGS
He's probably completely fine. That high of a jump won't do much to most dogs. Worst case scenario is a broken bone but I doubt that happened.
I checked UA-cam 1000000 times today, waiting for this video. I NEEDED a chop update, I’m not disappointed 😍
You mean a Chupdate?
Chop sure seems to be a happy learner... I ❤ seeing his tail wagging during your training sessions. He's already doing awesome in a short amount of time! Great job so far... 😊
Way to go Chop! I can't believe how clearly you can see his thought process. What a good lesson and good boy. I also love that you are treating with his food too. When my pup was a baby I did this as well so she wouldn't be overly "treated" and I would train her while giving her breakfast.
2:56 lol I love how relatable this series is
Beautiful dog, beautiful countryside.
I saved my dog Burek from a chain life when he was about 8yo. A lot of Chops ups and downs remind me of our story. His life is going to be great from now on
The way this video had some extra narration and explanations built into it made it so much better. We get to see how to use it in a real setting and cut to a more “lecture” type or eye to eye to break that real setting moment down. It also gives you a chance to elaborate on your thoughts more of a special moment. Great video!!!
Can you do a series with a shy dog and help it to build confidence?
Zak your training series are always so fun to watch. I find myself smiling nearly the whole time. It’s amazing watching this wild boy bond with you so quickly with the right communication from you! I’m so proud of you and Chop!
Wait for the "full moon" to happen. Street dogs bring a different element to training and to care for them. Being from Alaska, I assume he has some (more than normal) wolf... now wait for that "full moon"! Lol 😆 can't wait! ❤
Omg he's so similar to my rescue dog when I had just got him!
The intro to this series is awesome, but I have to literally cover up the screen when he jumps off the balcony. The first time I saw that happen in the preview video, I cried for 10 minutes. You guys must have done the same, I’m sure. Loving this series! I started watching George because I’m going to try and train my sister-in-law’s pittie in a few months. He’s about a year old and doesn’t listen or do anything except “sit.” All of this is so helpful to see, especially seeing it in the very tiny increments of the most basic commands.
It’s great to see he’s fine after his great balcony leap! One of my dogs, now 7 yrs old., was completely untrained when I got her from a rescue. Her first two years of her life were spent on a chain in a concrete yard with minimal human interaction. It was a rough go for the first few months to build trust and to understand what I expected from her. She bid now one of the best dogs I have ever had. Chop is going to amaze us too.💕
The balcony hasn’t happened yet… they are almost finishing the series or already finished that’s how they are able to do a good intro for the series 😁
My wife's dog had a similar start to yours. He lived like that for three years until he was able to escape. It's been years now but he greets people with a wag and is a good boy. He still has anxiety attacks when there is thunder but it's gotten so much better. It's really rewarding to get a dog that is feral and then love him until he see you as the best thing ever.
I saw that jump and it made me giggle. It's something my dogs would do if they were given a chance. Also makes me think he's got a little husky in him. Huskies are escape artists, and you need those tall fences or they'll get out.
@ I am so anxious about the balcony leap and wonder why Zak keeps showing it without the results. I only see Zak's series on UA-cam and sometimes Facebook - not Instagram. Maybe you have to be a supporter on Patreon?
My impression after seeing the balcony leap footage is that Chop may have been seriously injured or possibly killed by the bear. The balcony is pretty high up and since he has likely never been in that type of situation he might not have had any understanding of height hazard.
I’m loving this series with chop. My adult rescue dog was homeless and sick for the majority of his life and he didn’t know ANYTHING about interacting with humans-had no idea what “sit” was, similar to Chop. Love seeing the different personalities of the dogs in these series!!
all i want is for zak george to call me "good man"... whenever he says it i hear a level of pride in his voice that i barely hear anywhere else.
i used to watch each and every one of your dog training experience videos when i had a lot of time on my hands, but for a long time, ive been busy and nows the only time i could come over to your channel, and im surprised at how many series i missed:O this series looks pog!
Loving this series already! CHOP CHOP!
That moment when he looked at you, priceless!
And here I was thinking that my dog was the only one that backs up when you try to use the treat over the head method.
Glad to see an alternative solution
This is by far my favorite series you've ever made, and it's only the 2nd episode!!!
Sweet, beautiful Chop! Doing great! Love this serie ! Good job,Zack 👍🙏🥰🥰🥰
Ah, this is the kind of dog I tend to get in Foster ☺️
Love your Channel, I always dip in for reminders, and when I can I watch a whole series.
My new dog is deaf in one ear, I'm wondering how I'm going to train her when she often does not hear me, and is off with the fairies when out and about, following scents, can you help with that in a future episode please.
Also, I love gardening, how can I stop the dog 'helping' with the digging, and digging up my bulbs, creating mounds, and earth dens, and even from going on the flower beds in the first place.? I love that she likes to get involved, and that she enjoys the play, I'd also like to keep my Mums memorial garden in good nick! 😐👍
Where are your SHOES! 😂 I love how it's a thing, totally unrelated to training.
I absolutely love your vlog style videos.
This is an amazing series. I'm now noticing just how much editing is done with other tutorials on training. This addresses so many questions I have about understanding and pivoting to training that is the most effective~and the importance of first earning a new dog's trust. There are many "recipes" in training dogs~but it is so important to understand the body language of the dog because that helps you gauge if the dog is being receptive to the "training". Meaning to say, you can do all the steps to get the job done, but what is missing is understanding emotionally what is going on here~which you so eloquently address in this series~thank you Zak George!
oh chop! he's so adorable and impulsive,I love him ... I hope he can get a wonderful furever family that sweetie deserves one
He’s just such a happy, confident boy. Looking forward to watching you tackle him wanting to say hi to every single dog. My pup will lay down whenever he sees a dog, hoping he’ll get an “ok” to go say hi, and I need to work on getting him to reliably just keep walking by.
Inertia looks at the new dog like “child calm down!” Lol
If I have to shape any behaviours in little tiny steps as you had to do with the "sit", I use a clicker. It just works better for me when I need to be really precise. Often I end up just capturing things like "sit", "down" and "speak" as they happen.
I'm looking forward to following this series as I'm getting more and more clients with street rescues.
Already you can see this dog is so smart, and has so much potential. I’m so proud already! 😁
It is really helpful for dog owners to train their dogs. Thank you for sharing this informative video!
Something I noticed about Chop is that he actually seems to be a very smart dog. He has so much potential to be a great dog. It's interesting to think about how Chop would behave if someone took the time to train him when he was younger. Anyways you are doing amazing Zak! I can't wait to see more of Chops progress
"can't things be normal in alaska"
me: this is alaska my friend hahahah
Always so excited to see you upload!! Love this series so much.
Chop looks like a gentle giant and an intimidating wolf at the same time 👀 after watching the reality dog training series, giant dogs are my new obsession :/
Don't get a dog for the size and/or looks, you might regret it later by being unable to handle his strength or character. Guys I know wanted tough looking breeds (a 4 month old Pitbull and an 1y old, old breed GSD) and are struggling to handle them, regretting the choice.
What I did is settle on a German Pinscher or smaller look-a-like mixed breeds instead of a Rottweiler or Dobermann since my weight is as much as a large Rotty. I love my medium sized black and tan dogs!
@@leashr trueee I already have 2 medium sized rescues and don't plan to get another dog in the couple years ahed, so the obsession is only virtual 😅
@@curiouswiki3084 Same here! My next one (ever) will be a local, mature shelter dog tho.
Thank you for helping me so much Zak I can't be more thankful 🥰
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE! ITS THE FIRST SERIES I SEE YOU STARTING SINCE WHEN I FOLLOW💓
Yay! More Chop time! That tail wagging and those floppy ears. 💙✨
Really appreciate the quiet environment set up during his indoor training. It feels so calming for Chop (and for me! 😂). I just love seeing him learn and communicate with you. Can’t wait for the next episode. Good job Chop and Zak family! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼✨
Chop is so much like our shelter rescue dog, than previous dogs Zach has trained. Our guy is a wild super hunter dude, where outside he turns into a totally different dog. Far removed from the perfect inside pet. Looking forward to more adventures in training Chop
Go chop looking forward to your progress!
YAY!!! A new episode about Chop! I've been looking for this since Saturday morning. 😁👍
I’m a huge fan
Chop, I really hope you find someone you can depend on with lots of land to explore!! What a sweet eager baby!
I love watching these videos they bring such joy to me. Keep up the good work! 😊
This is something ive been waiting! Amazing
You make my day when I watch your videos. Thank you.
I got my dog earlier this year, 3 year old stray, exactly like Chop. Similarly, she did not even know sit. Chop's reaction to other dogs used to be her reaction to anyone and anything when we would go on walks, they could be across the street and down a little and she was blowing up. Unfortunately, she is only 15 pounds so I did not always have such a big meal to work with, but we made it work. Now, almost 8 months later we can walk through PetSmart and other dog-friendly stores (with her lunch to reward) and she does pretty well. I have learned so much from you and I think if it were not for your videos, she would probably still be a mess. Thank you for sharing Zak!
I admire that you are doing these series of reality dog training.
Love this series!!
"Just a hunch". I like these breaks into narration mode, or whatever else I should call it :D
This is so helpful! It helps make sense of the way to systematically teach certain techniques that you’ve shown in other videos. It helps understand your thought processes and how you work through challenges.
LOVE THIS
I really wish I could see you work with my dogs. I love your training style.
Can hardly wait for the next one!
Another lovely episode, thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see the rest.
i really cant wait a week to see the next video love this series
Great video. Loving the series . ❤️Chop
Chop is such a brilliant dog. Yes he’s reactive and he pulls on leash but once you get through those obstacles, he’ll be such a brilliant dog.
I love this series and love that you all are reaching out & giving these animals a chance. We have a rescue & have reaped the benefits of being able to train him. Without training he was a complete basket case-high anxiety, aggression, etc. Thank you for what you do & for sharing your knowledge with us.
Such helpful training advice!
Wow you do have your hands full! Good luck to both of you! ❤️❤️❤️
Loving Chop💕 watching how he processes information and makes connections is beautiful to see now he glances at you to make sure he's doing the right thing, brilliant. Well done both of you ☺️
Love the videos
I love your training videos!
Good boy Chop 🐶
I'm already in love 💙
Wish I could like a million times! Absolutely love these reality dog training episodes. My dog is a lot like Chop and I can't thank you enough for this content
I really can’t wait for the next video! Our 6 month lab goes crazy when outside seeing new people/dogs!! But he’s amazing inside so please release so I can how you are handling it! Great videos as always
I can't wait to see what this boy is he remind me of my American akita so much!!!
Chop is a good boy,he needs Love & Direction 😉👍
Great Work. Thank you for sharing this content.
This vidio is so good and chop is amazing and i have learnt so much from ur vids. ❤👍
This is going to be so much fun and interesting,, can’t wait for the next episode!
Thank you for making video like this. As I just adopted a dog almost three months ago, I really give him a lot of treat during walking and training as I would like to give him a positive experience. Once i saw you do the same with explanation, it makes me more comfortable what I am doing. Can‘t wait for the next video. 😃
Is it just me who's dogs try to access the treat bag as they want to ? 😁
I am loving the format of like the confessional camera where you keep cutting back to you talking to us. Makes for very good funny moments. Love you guys. Keep up the good work. :)
this dog is so dang cute! Beautiful boy!
This is a masterclass of dog training! Looking forward to this series as I have all the rescue dogs you have rehabilitated.
I’m
So excited for you
You can see in his eyes how sweet of a dog he is, how happy he is, and how sweet he’s gonna be. This is going to be a good series.
Wow 👏👏so far so good.. way to go Chop💜💜
woah i'm so early! i'm never this early!
It's torture having to wait for the next episode, I just wanna watch 8 straight hours of this. Chop looks like an amazing dog, and he's so cute 💜
Lets Goooooo! Your the best!
