Are you ready to do what it takes to get your yarn stash under control? I was skeptical at first, but I finally got fed up enough to give this idea a shot, and it has done wonders for me! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
OMG, I feel like this video is about me. I'm addicted to buying yarn, and it really started to be dangerous... As you said - I don't even remeber what I got. But idea of container is great! And gues what - i've got exactly the same stool and also filled with yarn I need at the moment. Great video, love it :)
I have two of those stools now! One for knitting and one for crochet. I have found that the container concept is great for a lot of things, not just yarn. Dana K White is the one who came up with it. She has a blog, a UA-cam channel, books, a podcast-- all sorts of great stuff! -- about decluttering and organizing methods. Plus she's funny. 🙂 Love her!
I love the ottomon! I may have to get one of those, and use it for my cross stitch. Not quite ready to put all my cross stitch items into one container, but maybe I can work towards that.
The ottoman is awesome! It's sturdy enough to sit on. 😃 And I admit, limiting the yarn to one tote definitely felt drastic, but I'm amazed at how it's impacted how much I'm crocheting and my enjoyment of it.
My mom is so mad at me I filled up two whole boxes and three bags of yard that I even forgot I had and I just went through any ideas what I can use it for
Hi, Kirin! The main way I like to work through yarn is by doing smaller projects that I can complete in one or two sittings (hats, cowls, squares for blankets, etc.) that use just one or two skeins of yarn. I have found that when I work on larger projects, my progress is slower. I know a lot of other people like "stash buster" and "scrap" projects. There are lots of patterns online for those if you search for them. My go-to for pattern ideas is ravelry.com. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have other questions. 🙂
