Not me always thinking it was pronounced “hobby” lol I’ve been wanting to try them out and I’m so curious about that cotton. I may have to place an order.
Hello! Because Hobbii was founded in Denmark, I can confirm that it is indeed pronounced "hobby". The two i's gives more of an eeee sound in Danish, so it sounds the same
I was going to say the same a Kia. The ii is just a play on the sound of the y in hobby in Danish. I never realised how many different ways people would pronounce such a short word, I enjoy it 😁

Jessica as a regular consumer of Hobbii products and in particular their cotton products I can tell you their cotton is absolutely wonderful to work with.
I placed an order with them over Black Friday and I’m super impressed with what I got! The problem is I don’t want to use them because the cakes are so pretty I want to display them 😅🤣
I’ve had very positive experiences ordering from Hobbii. I’ve been very happy with their acrylic yarns and now I’m really tempted to try the yarns you reviewed today!!! Thanks!
Your reviews are among the only ones I watch, because your taste in yarn is so similar to mine. Be picky, girl, because it helps us make well-informed choices. Thanks~!
I was soooo excited when I saw your review was about Hobbii! I'm a huge fan of their yarns and their company; I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed it too. 😊
I love Hobbii Yarn. I live in the US, and Hobbii shipping is faster than some US companies. I haven't found a Hobbii Yarn that I don't like! Love your reviews! Thanks for this one!
I love guessing how many "hooks" you're going to give a yarn as you go along. I LOVE your reviews and cannot stop watching! Thank you for being so prepared and giving multiple views and "squishes" throughout because, let's be honest, my ultimate test is the "squish" test. Keep being you - you are wonderful!
Thanks for the the review! I get so many pop up ads on Facebook for them and have been tempted but was scared away by it being in Denmark and out of a lot of things I was looking at. I will have to go back and give them a try!
I discovered Hobbii during the RONA and got hooked on the cotton balls, 8/4, 8/6, 8/8 - 4 and 6 are my fave and Hobbii customer service is excellent. Thanks for reviewing the mohair combos, I have balls of both and I luv, the Tweed Delight, quickly went through a couple of balls for beenies.
Three Hobbii orders later, I might have a slight problem 😂. I love all of the yarns I have gotten from this site, and the packages have arrived in a timely fashion with little hassle. There aren't very many craft stores close to where I live, so Hobbii has given me the opportunity to try products I likely wouldn't have the chance to experience otherwise. I am overall very happy with my experience, and I have yet another order on its way.
I’ve bought a significant amount of the cotton yarn from Hobbi & it never disappoints & always ships fast. It’s fun to peruse all the colors they have & the sales make it super affordable. ❤
Could you please do a list of your favorite yarn. A list for nonanimal yarn. I'm allergic to wool, so this would be very helpful for me. Thank you for your time!
Just as I was thinking "I wish you had a review of Cascade Yarns" you invited me to ask you to review it!! It is a Seattle based company and I was so happy to find it within walking distance since COVID has me off the bus (city girl, no car). I'm really new to crochet and am learning so much from your videos :-)
I'm living in Sweden and finding Hobbii was real fun :) they are actually very good in acrylic too! World of yarn which they offer is the best acrylic I have found!
I'm so glad you're reviewing them. I like their yarn. So many people hate on them because it takes time to ship from overseas, but they don't control the shipping.
I have been ordering from Hobbii for a while and find their shipping to be very prompt and typically I receive my order within a week. I definitely can’t say that about most of the U.S. based companies I’ve ordered from.
I've just started tunisian crochet. I've watched several videos on it and you are by far the greatest teacher. You are well spoken you don't say 'and uhh, and uhh'. You start off slow in the stitches and you keep that way so it's easy for us beginners to stay in step with you. Your review for this yarn and other items you have done is very informative and helps me make decisions. Thank you for spending so much time on teaching me new things. By the how do you make a cake that you mentioned in this video.? I'd like to know it looks perfect.
Yesss! I've been waiting for this since Hobbii is local to me and I use it a lot. They often have yarn sales and they ship for free if you use 500DKK or more. I've only used their cotton yarns so far, but your review was very insightful. Thank you so much!
Those cakes seem so expensive, but for 1000 yards as well as those amazing color gradients, I honestly had to keep myself from buying 3 more once I got my first one.
I LOVE their cotton yarn for amigurumi projects, they have so many colors and you get great stitch definition. Their customer service is also really amazing
I am a newbie to your reviews and I'm addicted!! Love your attitude and "realness!" I've already been shopping with Hobbii but I'm glad to see you enjoy them too!!
I’ve ordered from them several times and I’m really happy with my purchases. Just as en FYI they always do different sales and the newsletter can be a bit of a irritating feature in my inbox (several times a week at times). Would absolutely recommend ordering from them :)
You are my A number ONE goto for yarny goodness product reviews - thank you so much!! When I started crocheting again last year after a 40yr hiatus, I fell in love with those crazy complex shawl patterns in fingering weight. Problem was I couldn't afford Scheepjes Whirls. Hobbii was where I ordered, because the cakes were **almost** as amazing, but on sale for less than half the price. I now get at least one cake every time I order, because their cotton is such a dream. I had only remembered rough cottons, but this was phenomenally comfortable to work with I also had to buy crochet hooks, so I tried the Prym ergo hooks - sort of Hobbii's answer to Furls. They might not be for everyone, but I love them, since I have arthritis issues. Speaking of dreams, I would love to hear what you think of their Dream Color wool. It cemented my new-found love affair with fingering weight. The name ain't joking. It is SERIOUSLY gorgeous in every way. I can also echo everybody else's praise for their customer service and delivery times. I live in CA, and often get my packages from them more quickly than US companies, even with the pandemic futzing things up. Sorry for the novel..... :)
I am doing my 2023 Temperature Blanket with the Hobbii Cotton 8/6. I love working with it and love the way the stitches show the definition of the Moss Stitch. I live in Florida, and it will be a nice lightweight blanket.
I’ve been a knitter for 45 years. Definitely a yarn snob. I like good yarns! New to Hobbii. Twister, Butterfly and Universe (Halloween) are divine. The color ways are stunning and vivid in detail. Soft and great drape. Not really a wool or mohair fan at this stage. Can’t speak to those products at all. Really love this companies products. Placing order #5 now. When I start a project with Hobbii fibers, I cannot wait to see how the colors unfold in the working. Have not been this mesmerized in awhile.
You tell it like it is girl! I look forward to your reviews to help me select. I’m definitely buying Zafira now. And the Rainbow cotton looks dreamy and would probably be a good choice for my new 2 months old granddaughter’s Spring/Summer dress! Thank you for thus video.
Thank you! I've been using Hobbii from Germany for a few months cause it was on the top of the google search result when I decided to learn knitting. It's really challenging for a total beginner like me to have to buy all the materials online (lockdown, yeah) without being able to see and feel the yarns, and I'm glad you reviewed some of the yarns from Hobbii that I've been interested, for example Zafira. Your comments about basic materials were very helpful in general and honestly I learned so much from this short video hearing you talk about wool, cotton, mohair, etc. I'm definitely watching your other yarn reviews!
This is my first time on this channel and I already love it. I’ve only been crocheting for just over a year so I have a lot to learn. I really love the stitches you’ve used. I can’t wait til I can turn out such cool stitches from memory. I’ll be sure to try some hobii yarn with confidence that it’ll be good.
I tried Hobbii sport wt cotton for a baby blanket and was pleasantly surprised with the softness. I thought the price was pretty good and it’s also made in India, which I like. Thanks for all your super helpful videos! You do make it hard to decide which beautiful yarn to try next tho. 😂💖
Thanks so much for your review - I am just about to order from Hobbii for the first time - I have my eye on a cake - I usually use a Scheepjes Whirl but am going to give this a try for some shawl patterns I fancy. Ordering from the UK now we are out of the EU is a bit of a tax and import minefield so I really want to make sure I select wisely and thanks for this honest overview. As an amigurumi fan I am keen to try their cottons as I hear they are even better than Paintbox and they tend to be my go-to. Thanks again - Paula x
I LOVE your yarn reviews. They are the best in the industry. I’m definitely going to try some of your recommendations!! I love Hobbi. I’ve ordered from them in the past and my yarn came to (central) New York quickly! Prices are fabulous, selection is extensive and they definitely email you when sold out choices are back in stock. 💕💖💕
Thanks for doing such detailed reviews! I’ve seen a lot of ads for Hobbii yarn and was very curious. Also thanks for creating and curating amazing content for crocheters.
Rainbow Cotton is my FAVORITE yarn honestly, I use it for baby clothes, dish/wash cloths etc. It's awesome for crocheting since it doesn't separate into strands. I always use 8/4 or 8/6.
I just got an order from there and had been knitting up some swatches! You even reviewed some of the yarn that I got! And as always, you brought up some great points :)
Welcome to the Hobbii fan club! I've been a fan for a while, especially the Rainbow cotton. Hasn't failed me yet, and when I get the email that colors are available I stop what I'm doing and order it. LOL
@@karynthompson6616 None. The cotton is wonderful! The Zafira and Metallico yarns are great too and don't have much pilling at all. Haven't worked with the other ones she reviewed. But I reviewed the Zafira on my channel.
Love your thorough reviews and really appreciate you always work up the yarn during your reviews. Thank you!! I have ordered from Hobbii before and was pleased with what I ordered 😍
I love every yarn I've ever gotten from them. Their acrylic is soft, smooth, and doesn't split at all. My finished work looked nice and professional, unlike with some of the cheap yarns I've bought from Walmart. The weight is very consistent as I crochet, no thickening or thinning as I go. I always recommend Hobbii to everyone I know who works with yarn. Next time you need to try their Twirls! Oh my goodness, the colorways are breathtaking! Thanks for this great review, those are yarns I haven't bought from them yet. I was especially surprised at the first mohair yarn in your video. I would never choose mohair, it always looks so scratchy, but after listening to your review and seeing your swatch I might give it a try after all. Thanks, Toni.
I just relearning to crochet again, and I love your reviews! They are so detailed and give me so much to learn. Thank you. I'm gonna try and watch all your videos.
@@EnchantingWings1 Right, but those are the only colors they’ve had for over a month of two. I believe they announced a few months ago that it was discontinued, and that’s the last of their stock. I think in February, a few random colors popped up like 2-3 pieces left of the ones that did. I like the regular one though too!
@@JCmud351 I think that covid had affected their ability to get yarns from suppliers. They'd say if it was discontinued in the product description. Universe XL is be, they only released it in November or so.
i just ordered some yarn from hobbii last night and just now stumbled upon this video! i'm glad it was worth it to buy from that site. great video, as always!! sending love
I haven’t used any of the yarns you were grading, except their cottons (although I have not tried the fingerling weight ethic I am not a fan of in any form of yarn...I haven’t built up the patience yet, although they create some gorgeous pieces I’ve seen)! I do love their cottons! I’d love to try the Zaphera sometime, and the tweed! The tween was SO pretty! I’m always amazed watching you at work! I know I’ll never be that fast but it sure is fun watching you! Thank you for the reviews on all those yarns! I depend a lot on reviews when I buy yarn! Learned the hard way to not just go buy a bunch of yarn without first learning about it! Thanks a lot Toni! Your reviews are very helpful!
First of all, I love your nails. Second, thank you for this review! I just got into weaving and just bought a bunch of stuff from Hobbii and I feel more secure in my purchase after watching this. It was way less expensive than going to Jo-ann's or Michael's.
I have purchased from Hobbii and I love their rainbow cotton yarn for my granddaughter who is due to arrive in late April. Plus their cotton king cakes are delicious to work with unless you don’t like fingering yarn🤪. I have made a beautiful little dress and a little sleeveless cardigan with the cotton king cakes and I was not sure if I could crochet with such a thin and small hook but to my surprise it was a lot easier to work with. Another company you might to try is Hobium they have really yummy yarns a little pricey but in my opinion the yarns are worth it. Thank you for your reviews I enjoy watching other yarn lovers do reviews so we who can’t really go shopping 🛍 know what new and delicious yarns are out. ❤️❤️. Stay safe 🙏
Thank you for this review because I got the Diablo yarn and I had no clue how it was til I got it. I’m still new to crochet but I do like hobbi and I actually just got a box that I haven’t even opened yet. I think their sales are great and I do like the yarn and your reviews really help a newbie like me. Thank you for all your videos. Stay safe
I had never even *HEARD* of Hobbii before your review, Toni! I've ordered three different times since I first watched this review back in March. I blame YOU, dear one, because I decided to try tunisian crochet. There was not a tunisian hook to be had in Durham, Raleigh or Chapel Hill--so I made my first order with Hobbii. I enjoyed the whole browsing/ordering/waiting of it, seriously. The idea of getting and making with yarn born in the Great Norse Beyond is giddy-making for this yarn nerd. I plan to make the Westmont Shawl with my first Hobbii haul, but I'm still getting comfortable with the hook and the stitch work. I'll let you know how it all turns out.
I have made two sweaters with the diabolo and the twister solid. It’s so soft and light, but warm at the same time. It’s not scratchy or itchy which surprised me.
I'm new to knitting and crocheting, started in 2021. I appreciate your reviews because I want to learn as much as I can about yarns and quickly. Love the chunky ass vest comment. My first sweater was chunky and huuuuge. I killed it and turned it into a lovely throw.
Thank you for an awesome review...I love Hobbi yarns, but haven’t tried the ones that you showcased. I’ll definitely have to try that cotton and the tweed.
I’m so glad I discovered you! And this video made me consider something I’ve never done before: why I needed to know the weight/ounces/grams of my yarn. I’ve always just looked at how many yards I was getting! I’ve still got so much to learn!! 🙏🏼💕
Thanks for the review!! “Chunky ass vest” I’m cracking up you’re so right! Ive been wanting to try the cotton and really glad you gave it a thumbs up! Thanks again!
I recently received my first Hobbii order and it probably won't be long until my next one! Loved the quick service and the beautiful yarns I received. I'll be adding a couple of these to my Wish List! Thanks for a great review!
I just ordered a TON of the Zafira from the link you posted, I got them for $3.29 each after the discount, thanks for this video! Also, your tutorials are top-notch, you're a great teacher. Hugs!
Thank you for reviewing Hobbii. I have been looking to try ordering from them. I love working with cotton yarns! I make a lot of pot holders and dish/wash cloths and cotton is perfect for this. However, finding a great cotton yarn can be a challenge. By the way. My pot holders are exclusively made from TSS squares. I join 2 of them for a nice thick pad that is so flexible. Thank you for teaching me Tunesian crochet! I am obsessed with this crochet style!
I was really interested in viewing your review as I LOVE Hobbii yarn. 1st order was for a CAL they had. Loved how that worked out and started trying some of their other yarns. I'm a big fan of their cake yarns but have also ordered other yarn from them. Their customer service is the best I have ever experienced. Like someone mentioned below, one of the bags arrived torn. This was due to USPS handling. USPS owned up to it & let me know about 4 rolls were missing. Later USPS found 3 of the 4 rolls and sent them to me. I notified Hobbii what had happened just as a FYI to them. To my surprise Hobbii IMMEDIATELY sent me a replacement roll to make up for the missing one. As the problem was caused by US mail I was not expecting Hobbii to replace the roll. Excellent company!
The UA-cam algorithm brought me here :) I have nothing with crochet but I enjoyed your video (and your pronunciation of Scheepjes - "little ships"/"shippies"). You have a very pleasant voice and way of talking!
Just wanted to say I absolutely love watching your yarn reviews and that they’re some of my favorite videos you do! I also just bought some of that wool ease yarn to try out your basket pattern and I’m so excited!
im itching to start a new project and i've been obsessed with your yarn snob reviews. i have so much yarn just piling up because i love it, and im sure these reviews will have me buying more 😂

LOL
How much pilling do you get from it? That was one point Toni brought up.
@@karynthompson6616 None. The cotton is wonderful! The Zafira and Metallico yarns are great too and don't have much pilling at all. Haven't worked with the other ones she reviewed. But I reviewed the Zafira on my channel.
SAME!!
Love your thorough reviews and really appreciate you always work up the yarn during your reviews. Thank you!! I have ordered from Hobbii before and was pleased with what I ordered 😍
Very nice video. I like the crocheted swatches. It's nice to see how the yarn looks worked up.
Your stitching is amazing to watch! ...and you might have me sold on trying the mohair, not gonna lie...
I just relearning to crochet again, and I love your reviews! They are so detailed and give me so much to learn. Thank you. I'm gonna try and watch all your videos.
I love their universe yarn!! It is beautiful and is making a whole blanket out of it
I believe Universe XL was discontinued which makes me so sad. It’s GORGEOUS. Prettiest yarn I have ever seen.
@@JCmud351 it's still there, it's just most colours seem to be out of stock. I use the regular and love it.
Nice haul, thank you for taking time to share.
Stay safe
I love your reviews! The Hobbii Twister cakes are absolutely amazing for shawls. First cotton that I really enjoyed working with.
Great review! I have just purchased some Zafira so very happy to hear it is a winner!
I love Hobbii! Their clearance sales are amazing.
Hi Toni! I love your “yarn snob” reviews. Thank you
Great reviews as always! You have no idea how much they help especially because there are so many yarn choices available.
I love Hobbii!!! Working on a piece with their Carnival yarn in the Venice color way for a Christmas gift. It is gorgeous and fabulous to work with
I have made two sweaters with the diabolo and the twister solid.
I am a HUGE FAN of their yarn!! THANK YOU FOR THE REVIEW
Your review was so thorough and helpful as I’m thinking of buying from there. I love your descriptions of them.
I love watching your videos and listening to your reviews. Your love and passion for crochet and personality 🥰
I am so glad I found you. Can’t wait to watch and learn from your other videos!
Thanks for reviewing yarns. You are thorough, quick & educational ‼️I
learn a lot from you & you don’t waste my time! Just “jabbering”👍👍🧶Fantastic👍💥
What an awesome video!!!! I have been wondering about this yarn for a while. Thank you soooooo much!!
Thanks for the review. It's really helpful to see these yarns worked up, and reviewed.
im itching to start a new project and i've been obsessed with your yarn snob reviews. i have so much yarn just piling up because i love it, and im sure these reviews will have me buying more 😂
Ever since I filled out your yarn survey / questionnaire, I looked at Hobbii more. Am excited to watch this review as we have similar yarn tastes.
I just found them the other day, this was so necessary to watch and I'm glad I did because those mohair blend donuts are exactly what I was planning on buying!
Queen, you are AMAZING! !! GLAD I found you today! I feel energized to create again.
I love Hobbii yarn. I have ordered from them several times and the order is always perfect and shipped quickly. I have never been disappointed with any product.
I've been so curious about them; I'm so glad I stumbled across this review. Thanks for being so thoughtful and thorough!
I just discovered Hobbi website and was really pleased. Not only lovely yarn, but varied brands at great pricing. Your reviews are awesome. Keep it coming , Blessings for the New Year 🙏
