I think it’s great people that can pull 70-75-80 #’s and use really heavy hunting arrows. With a decent hit pretty much guarantees a pass thru even taking out some scapula or ribs. I used to draw 70-71#’s and used a 475 grain fixed blade built arrow. Not much trouble at all blowing thru deer, antelope, elk and nearly every big hog unless I hit the hog ( like 200+#) in the shield. Even then I could get at least one lung low most of the time. Now, at 73 years old I pull 60-61#’s with a 427 grain Magnus Black Hornet serrated headed arrow. Have no trouble getting pass thru on deer. But I never shoot a deer nowadays past 35 yards and pigs at 20-25 yards. Anyway, Mr., I sure hope you get your new bow all setup and get to go hunt soon. 👍👍👀
Thanks for reviewing Hoyt. I had to go back and watch your Lift review before making a comment. Based on your hunting arrow the Lift is more efficient sending that arrow at 263 😊 and the Hoyt only at 252. I purchased the V3X 33 at the beginning of this year and I also have a Hoyt Ventum 33. I wasn’t planning on replacing the V3X for another year or so but the Lift 33 is very tempting 😅.
Great video, you’re one of the most down to earth real people on UA-cam! Keep it up. Would love a video of your setup for this year including arrow choice and grain weight.
nice video man i was thinking of trading in my obsession on a rx8 but the numbers are pretty much the same and the hoyt is way higher in price guess illl keep shopping lol
Thanks for this review! I have a 32.5" draw and prefer 75+ pounds, the more the merrier. So many great new flagship bows coming out but none of them fit me. Any suggestions? I'm hoping Mathews refreshes the Atlas or replaces it with a new model, like the Lift but bigger.
That’s a good suggestion, thank you! I have almost the same bow now, a carbon stealth 35. Great bow but max’s out at 32”. I have it teased out to about 32&3/8” and run a long D loop but still feel cramped at full draw. I’m making it work for now, the long axle to axle length helps.
Enjoying the vids. I’m still unsure what bow I will be going with this year as I make my first flagship bow purchase. What part of Michigan do you hail I’m a south west on the lake hunter.
your blooper, i had a similiar issue with my Nock 2 It recently. the jaw when closed, had a little play. i was shooting #23 loop and it was slipping off the d-loop (opening ever so slightly). Carter fixed it without question, but may be something to check out before you start losing teeth 😁. Keep the videos coming!
@@PrivilegedBowhunter I get it . I shoot an RX7 and a V3X 33. I have no brand loyalty. But after shooting them all last weekend, I ordered a granite fade to black Lift 33. Mathews has made more innovations and is building the best hunting bow on the market.
Unfortunately my draw length is 32in. so I had to go with the hoyt. Very little love for us tall people or those with a long wingspan. The hoyt is very comfortable for me to shoot and dead in the hand and can't wait for one of these days to take it out hunting.
The rx7 ultra i shoot isnt real fast but it is super accurate at distance. I also have a mathews vertix and v3x33 great bows but i just shoot the hoyt better. Ill never get rid of the vertix though its killed alot lol. For me personally the mathews bows are easy to torque
Mathews bows stack late, and it almost feels like a hump since it happens later in the draw, where Hoyt's stack at the initial draw... it's a more natural and smooth feeling. This bow is completely dead in the hand, even better than Mathews.
As long as you keep that little stubby stabilizer on it! Take it off and it doesn't feel so dead in hand! Nothing against Hoyt, Elite and PSE are doing the same thing. And of course the weight of that little stubby isn't included in their listed weight for the bows. Haven't shot Mathews since I had a McPherson series Monster back in 2013 but I have to admit the LIFT is pretty impressive.
@@PrivilegedBowhunter haha. Spike and button outdoors on IG. For the record my lowest weighing arrow is 587, I prefer the 635-650 range. Keep up the good work brother.
Disappointing speeds with the RX-8 Ultra. No reason to upgrade for me... Current setup: RX-7 Ultra , 82lbs, 31.5" draw, 552 gr arrow @290fps. Mind you this arrow is 14.8% FOC, .001 straightness 4mm, 200 spine arrow with the IW Snyder Core system and a 135gr IW broadhead upfront. I designed this setup to penetrate through an elk shoulder assuming I made a bad shot, but never take an unethical shot! This setup will easily kill any North American animal, and should be able to kill anything that walks on the planet.
The Rx8 Ultra is slightly faster than the RX7 Ultra , everything else being equal.. Not saying its worth upgrading, but they did make some improvements with better string angle for long draw guys and a better draw length adjustment.. Id like to see 75 lb option.. I don't need 80 and shot 31.5" as well so mostly not required
piss on dudley heavy is the way thats why he shoots over 500 grains as well. I like John but lost a lot of respect for him after he treated Troy like he did...

Yea the lift got me to swipe my card

Video will definitely be up within 24 hours of me receiving the bow. Thanks for supporting 🙏🏾
Im shooting a hoyt vtm 31 at 81#@28 " 461 grain at 296 adv vel absolutely love the set up for deer and elk.
That’s smoking fast 💨
Great review on the RX8 sir. The new lift is a good looking bow.
I'm subbed an really only subbed to see massive high draw weight speeds
oh im subscribed bud have been.. come on folks get with it this man puts in the work...thx man great as always God Bless
Thanks for always supporting 🙏🏾
no problem I like to support good men, family men and a fellow archer bow hunter @@PrivilegedBowhunter
That’s the ultra buddy. Great review
Hey I’m from Michigan. New bow hunter. I’m from the east coast.

I ordered the Lift

I have the same problem, long wingspan with 32" draw. Currently have a '16 Defiant 34 at 65lbs.
Look at the PSE Mach 34

You’re right about that. I’m going to send it in
Wise choice did the same thing with #23. Small gap in the jaw when closed and the loop would flatten and pull through.
The riser on the lift 33 is longer than the riser on the rx8 ultra. So that doesn't really give hoyt any excuses on the weight.
I’m just trying to be fair lol

You have to remember the hoyt rx8 that you are shooting is the ultra. The ultra has a slower speed rating than the smaller rx8.

It was an awesome shooting experience with the exception of that blooper

The king John dudley says you don't have to shoot a arrow that heavy
Good on you for keeping your blooper/out take/misfire in the video
💯
Dudley disagrees with a 622 arrow
Haha, what’s your socials? I’ll shout them out😂

Dude just justified carbon bows because they steal less heat from your hand 😅
Yooo 😂😂😂
Go heavy 💪 or go home. Lol 😜.
That’s what I’m saying 😂😂😂
It was slower then Matthew's on everyone who has done it.
the RX7 the RX7 ultra and the RX8's are all slow
piss on dudley heavy is the way thats why he shoots over 500 grains as well. I like John but lost a lot of respect for him after he treated Troy like he did...
Dudley doesn’t care how heavy his arrow is he just wants to be around 290fps
Agreed
A heavy arrow doesn’t get that much more penetration 😂
