A step by step, up close, of cam shimming would be extremely helpful for us at home guys.
Nice videos. Before shimming the cams I would have tried the other arrow spine just to confirm it was needed
Really enjoy these videos of setting up bows. I have been setting my own bows up for about 5 years now and love seeing different methods. I always enjoy learning something new and have learned alot from your channel. I would love to see you set up an older double yoked bow and how to paper tune those. Im trying to learn about that to do it correctly. All the best to you
Don’t matter how long love watching the videos!
Thank you for this series brother. I have a VTM 31 and my father just got the new Alpha. This little series is the perfect reference to go to.
It’s crazy how much goes into bows
Lots of great info in this series man. Lots!
I really enjoyed these technical videos. Respect man!
I'm currently shooting a Black Gold set up and it's nice, however, I shoot an HHA on my cross bow and its like a tank with better mechanical (smoother) adjustment. I might have to go with the HHA Tetra with two vertical pin set-up. You gain a few ounces in weight but I believe the trade off is worth the difference.
My Alpha X33 tuned perfect left and right with just switching the factory shims on bottom cam. I'm a lefty as well and had to move just bottom cam to the left by flip flopping factory shims.
I agree 100% on the grip. It's super comfy but not great for consistency. I took it off and wrapped the bare riser with 2 layers of tennis grip tape. My groups down range shrunk in half and bareshafts are much more consistent. Great job on the vids, keep them coming!!!
For $529 that the Bear Alaskan XT goes for, which has the IMS and Picatinny mounting systems, and how light it is, I saved a lot of money getting and tuning one for myself. And it tuned so easily using the static yokes on the top limbs. Didn't even have to shim cams.
Yeah it a dang nice bow for the money! Definitely one of the best mid range bows out there!
Absolute respect for your content and you are the only guy I agree with on about everything, please get some good t handle Allen wrenches, Bondhus are top quality.
hey kellan, great vid, pls do a tune vid on the new lifts!!!!!
You should leave one screw in the axle and push against that to get the axle out the other side, instead of risking damage to the threads by doing what you did with the Allen key.
I did leave one in, and the allen is the same size as the axle so it wouldn’t damage the threads. I agree with you though that if done incorrectly it could damage the threads. Done thousands of how’d this way though and haven’t aver damaged axle threads so I guess it works haha.
Hay mate!Would you make a video about Hamskea waypoint arrow leveler, step by step how to use it for us Europian guys?On Mathews Lift would be great.Thx in advance 🍻

@@InsideOutPrecision Roger that,THX😍
Since you shoot left handed, how difficult is it for you when you are setting up right handed bows?
@@stevied721 there’s no difference in the way they’re set up, and the tuning is the same in terms of cam movement or rest movement. We always have the customer shoot their bow when tuning so I rarely have to shoot a right handed bow. That being said I can actually shoot pretty decently right handed!
@@InsideOutPrecision Thanks for the reply! Have you had any experience with shooters that are cross eye dominant? I've been shooting my entire life left handed (dominant hand) but I am right eye dominant. Is it worth it for me to try shooting right handed. If so, what is the best route for a smooth transition?
What is the centre shot, 13/16?
@@TomRobetson yeah that’s what they say
Mine I set up CS, at 13/16 and was bullett holes. But my fletchs, are touching the cables. So I just cut the sides of my Bohning blazers. Don't have press. My previous Vtm34 and ultra was perfect. But my new AlphaX33 I had to cut fletchs
Have you tried to run your cock vane at 90⁰?
Uv slider does make a left hand sight my man
Scopes are ambidextrous, so if you’re a lefty with a 3 pin cartridge your pins are coming from the right
But don’t have this problem if you shoot a single or double pins
Do you think you could get a UV grip to fit on a RX 7 or RX8?
They make one for Hoyt’s, but you can’t get a Mathews one to fit.
I know that. I was wondering if you can modify the RX1-RX5 UV grip to fit a RX7 or RX8. They do not make in for the newer Hoyts. The Hoyt grip is ok but like you said it just doesn’t have the flat square edge.
@@msp218 I don’t know I haven’t tried to
I just ordered one to try out 🤞
