Hello! I want to crack the battery pack in my 2014 Cmax hybrid, replace the entire lot with fresh cells. If you have a few still lying around could you give me an accurate measure of the dimensions (in millimeters)?
I have a question if you don't mind? What size socket did you use to remove the cell nuts? 9/32 and 7mm are too small and 8mm and 5/16 are too big and just spin. I can find no 12 point sockets between these sizes. I did find a 7.5mm 6 point but that won't help on 12 point nuts. Thank you in advance for any input.
i have a guy at my shop trying to take a bad cell out and nobody can find the correct socket for this. i even asked AI and was able to find these exact nuts on amazon but it says they are "external hex" and when you look that up online you get NOTHING. how does nobody have this socket?
I use these for high output car audio and yea one bad cell can kill a whole bank if left connected. My bank died and I left it together and it hurt all 152 cells were significantly lower capacity. Only a handful of cells would hold correct voltage and not drop

It is a weird nut! I was able to use a new 8mm 6 point socket. It barely grips, but was just enough to remove the nuts.
@@fordtechchris Well I suppose the battery I have I abused 😆. A brand new snap-on won't grip the nuts enough on this one. Oh well then pliers it is 😬

Yeah, it will eat up the rest faster. They have a continuous amp rating. If batteries start to go out, you put more strain on the remaining.
I'm about to get a 2013 cmax with 130k. What are you gonna do about battery replacement, and what's it gonna cost? Was it water damage?
It wasn't water damage. I found a used battery on eBay shipped fairly cheap.
Nice video thank you
where's part 2??
I'm trying! I just need a few more connectors from the auto parts store to finish. Hopefully I'll have it up this week. Thank you for watching!
