I believe pilots, sea captain, train machinist, bus drivers, surgeons, operators for nuclear reactor and petrochemical operators should abandon fasting and pay fidyah instead (pay the poor with the amount of money to feed them during the day). It is more responsible and avoid any unnecessary problem.
    If somebody decide to do fasting, then it should be in his/her own time. Not during the1 duty that their 100% concentration is required.

    Normally i like to point out that warnings should sound only as urgent as they actually are, but in this case they were ignoring so many critical warnings for no excusable reason.

    • @petep.2092
      @petep.2092 7 місяців тому

      The airplane doesn't know when a warning is more or less urgent, so does not adjust it to sound differently. The engineers do program in a certain priority when warnings conflict or when a warning is likely to be relatively trivial for a particular phase of flight, but that usually results in suppression of a warning until later or suppression altogether, sometimes inappropriately for a particular set of circumstances as some accident or incident investigations have shown. In this case the gear aural warning was automatically suppressed in favor of the overspeed warning, engineers probably didn't anticipate an airplane coming in at overspeed so close to the runway that gear down would take priority. But doubtful that the aural gear warning-a simple repeating chime-would have affected the outcome any; human factors studies show that an aural warning is more easily ignored in favor of a visual warning that attracts and retains humans attention more easily, and they were ignoring the red gear up warning message on ECAM and the bright red arrows at the gear lever. After they silenced all warnings, the gear warning, designed to be persistent when close to the runway, resumed but was soon out-prioritized again, this time by ground proximity warnings. Normally ground prox warnings are suppressed very close to the runway to avoid nuisance warnings when the ground near the runway has steep and significant elevation variances and because by then the pilots can see the runway or they would have executed a missed approach, but in this case they were not suppressed. I'm not a ground prox system expert, but I believe the newer EGPWS uses the present trajectory and trends of flight parameters to predict whether it is going to make the runway or crash short and if so, it would be logical to enable and prioritize ground prox warnings over gear warnings, the rationale being that time and effort would be better spent trying to prevent a crash into terrain instead of trying to prevent a wheels-up landing, the former typically being less survivable.

      It has nothing to do with placing your religion above people. This is about ignorance. God does not want you to take a risk when you're responsible in such a situation. Especially as a traveler, it's not even required to fast regardless of whether you're a pilot or a passenger. So, this has nothing to do with faith but with ignorance. That a person on Earth can choose to put their trust in God and then do their utmost is actually good for more motivation and strength to carry out a task. Whether it's a teacher, firefighter, or pilot, it doesn't matter. I'm actually glad that in the 21st century, there's still a stronghold in religion. So, let's keep religion and rootedness separate in this situation ;) thank you.

      Please don't take this the wrong way, but your use of u, n, r, ur, etc instead of spelling the words properly makes your message almost unreadable. I am sure you made a valid point, but I can't understand most of it. You may have saved yourself a few seconds typing that way, but you added effort for everyone else trying to read it.

      @@cirilloucazzu4457 come on now. This is from a religous standpoint. Just giving my informed opinion on the matter.
      Im sure practitioners of hinduism, judaism, christianity, shintoism, taoism, buddhism etc etc all have an opinion on the matter. They all have their respective gods, messiahs, prophets, mythologies and ofcourse, teachings.
      Interesting note: the semites are any people from southwest asia (essentially the arabic region) that speak the semitic language, which include arabic n hebrew. Their religion is usually (though not always the case) christianity, judaism n islam.
      So by that definition, im not a semite despite being a muslim, coz im genetically from southeast asia. But if you speak harshly against an arab-speaking person of arab descendant but is practices christianity… by application, you are anti-semitic😅

      In some partsof the world the pilot is King and everybody gets tonguetied when it comes time to do their job and speak up. Even amongst pilots there is a strict hierarchy and pecking order and attempts to teach them CRM and the necessity of speaking up when they notice things are going wrong appear to be a waste of time-cultural norms of respect and deference take precedence. The Asiana that crashed into a seawall at SFO when no one dared tell the Captain he was too low and needed to manually move the throttles after he inadvertently disconnected the autothrottle. Or the Japan Airlines 747 that overran the runway and ended up in knee deep water because the FO and flight engineer didn't say go-around out of respect.

    One very important thing that applies everywhere.... Arriving at your destination late is always better than not living to see another day. Circling to reduce the altitude would have attained desired altitude and airspeed and plenty of headspace for comfortable landing. Also don't work if you are starving its never good. Unless you are lost without food and water.

    I'm puzzled by "the landing gear was *accidentally* retracted". That doesn't make any sense. Looking at pictures of the panel, that's an intentional move.

    • @k.c1126
      @k.c1126 7 місяців тому

      Yes, this. At some point one of the pilots retracted the gear. Easy to see how they overlooked it, though, with all the other things going on at the same time.

    • @petep.2092

      I believe the FO retracted the gear intentionally. He seemed to be trying to heed the warning messages as fast as the Captain was trying to create them.

    • @sarkarkamalsayeed3866

      the landing gear was retracted as the speed was too high during this high rate of descent and exceeded the ldg gear extended speed limit.
