r/eldenring before the SGF 2021 trailer dropped was pretty positive about invasions. Twas a good gathering of souls enthusiasts before the game became real.
the fact that 2 people can get 2 invaders but 3 people can only get 1 invader is just such nonsense. how did that make it into the game even till today?
it has been like this since forever and it was even worse in DS1 and DS2 since you couldn't get two invaders in the same world without summoning via red sign, while the host could summon up to 2 or 3 phantoms. DS2 was specially the worst one at handling invasions since not only you could only have one invader with 2 phantoms but that invader couldn't even use Estus to heal while the host could. But at least the phantoms couldn't use it as well.

You can't expect everyone to make new saves for that kind of co-op, most people are just gonna pick up one of their completed builds. I'd argue that it's why password summons bypass summoning range in the first place. The issue is with intent really. If you make an optimised overleveled build purely for ganking, that's truly scummy. If you're innocently picking up a prior run for a co-op playthrough and you just so happen to be whatever ungodly RL, then I don't take issue with it. In the end of the day it's a very poorly designed system.

Lions claw on a colossal is always good with its frame 1 super armour against dragon breaths, or better use a black bow for that first invasion. Just noticed this was a faith build, with great heal or above and duplicated star light shards you should be able to heal instead of relying on slow health regen.
@@dustydood77 that’s why even at 30 faith I run both bestial vitality and great heal on a dex build. If you duplicate starlight shards there’s no need to bring out the blessed dew talisman or icon shield at the edge of combat range. Great heal which costs 45 fp or half my bar is about one crimson flask worth.
er invasions aren't too different from pontiff survival gameplay.. 3 dudes chasing one dude.. the one dude having to do turn and burns and basically whittle them down. seems they have made some good changed for the pvp based off that early backstab which you def couldn't have done day 1.. but the player cap in this game will always hold it back (and the lack of meaningful pvp covenants)

The first group you fought are my least liked invasion type. This type will only engage if your back is turned, or your already committed to one of them. They will stand shoulder to shoulder in cleared areas and only want a 2 v 1 so they can get easy blenders. When you finally kill the phantom, the host will just run away endlessly without a single attack. So boring and unoriginal. Great job handling them, G9.

i honestly believe that there are some gank squads that get their kicks from being defeated by someone, they wanna make the experience challenging for invaders and wanna find someone thats capable of taking all of them down y themselves. otherwise, i too simply cannot fathom why people enjoy doing 3v1 ganks, i think its some kind of psychotic behaviour that they need to vent from their daily lives.
"Exposers" and teabagging ganks, They're like people who harass vulnerable minorities irl. They like picking on weaker than them to feel better because they're sh-t humans irl. That being said ganks can vary enormously. Scummy ganks are the basic, but some ganks do actual interesting things, like tower defence or lift battles in Raya Lucaria with gravity spells and AoWs, mimic veil hide and seek and whatnot. You can have a lot of fun if you run into one of those. Occasionnaly, I think those are the ones you mention trying to challenge invaders, you'll run into gank squads with actual PvP knowledge beyond "spam shiny pew pew and have bigger numbers". Usually they're also the ganks who keep TT on too. TLDR, most ganks are loathsome, but not all of them.
Never touched ER ganks but back when I did Ringed City ganks in DS3 that was exactly the mindset. And you actually end up fighting far better players as a host, because 99% of invaders are more skilled than your average host/phantom. Harold Knights would also kill half or more of anyone who I'd summon. *That's* who you're up against as an invader. Idiots who can't even fight PvE right.
We can tho, just leave everything you dont need or use in the storage and drop your talismans, weapons, armor etc and pick them in the order you want, then on the menu press left joystick and choose "order by acquisition"
why do coop-ers always look scummy no matter what they are doing? i've never seen any phantom or host or blue that doesn't emit the aura of being a vile scum whenever i watch videos like this or do invasions myself. the only time i see these blue guys in a positive light is when they don't participate in ganks and just stand there and watch the host die and t-bag them afterwards

Since you seem to use a faith build a lot I'd recommend the regular heal spell called "Heal". For only 32fp you can get about 1/4th or more of your health back which should add to your overall healing pool a lot. It's also a decently fast cast.
Most PvE players are not experienced in PvP, so they’ll fight invaders as they would NPC enemies. Invaders are coliseum washouts, they can’t roll with true PvP players so they resort to preying on PvE chumm, and as you can see from this video, invaders have multiple different load outs to switch from to handle any given situation. I myself am no fan of PvP in games like Elden Ring, I believe it’s a cancer to the game because PvP kids have fragile ego’s that can’t handle losing. FromSoft did it right by disconnecting PvE from the destructive plague of PvP, so when something is deemed “overpowered” by whiny children, those of us who are actually playing the game aren’t punished for the tears of PvP babies. I’m a self proclaimed “co-op merc”, I’ve finished my NG+ run and now prefer to help others in their adventures. Once upon a time I struggled with invaders, I didn’t have the experience to efficiently deal with them, now I do. I’m no professional, I still get taken out here and there, but I now win much more than I lose. Quick word of advice to any and all would be invaders, you are not welcome, nor will you ever be. So expecting a host and their co-op help to treat you with anything but distain and hostility is foolish, we will not “1v1”, we will not bow with respect, we will dispatch you like the disruptive toomer you are.
In a game about difficulty, I don't see how a real player threat and a npc one are any different in the sense of "overcoming adversity". Sounds like you are a fan of implementing an easy mode

Slow health regen uses less fp and is less risky to pop. Heal incants are okay as a last resort
