Telling someone that minimums on acft's arent good enough translates to staying late off the clock at a civilian job. If I do the standard I'm doing my job. Exceeding it shouldn't be expected, and if it is, maybe the standard should be raised
I should be embarrassed to say this, but I agree. Everyone hates doing pt tests. After so many years, you (not everybody, but a lot of us) kinda stop trying to absolutely exceed everything. I shoot for 70 points in each event to conserve energy for all 6 of them. I know that's not much better than minimum, but I'm getting old man😂 There are plenty of other areas to focus all that motivation on. MOS specific tasks especially.
Well, like any job. Promotions are competitive. Performance on a pt test is one of the many indicators in the Army used to set you apart from your peers. Doing the minimum standard will set you behind your peers. If a guy scores 60 in each event and he's competing with someone who scored 80 in each event. I'm more inclined to go with the guy who scored higher because obviously, they have higher physical discipline. There are conditions that prevent people from doing pt and the minimum score is what they can get. Which is why there are more than just a pt test that is used to identify candidates for promotion.
@@davidmarsh7933 promotions are not competitive for a pfc, or a spc ready for ETS, or who is putting off blc for any number of reasons. Unless you are attempting for points, or unit ran incentives, I don't see a point in trying for a 600. The army's pt test is a joke, different standards for sexes, same standards for mos, and they change exercises based on retention numbers. I'll chill with my 400
Pretty sure we served together, another tip for the straps use tape if the retainer band broke of, nothing I hate more than seeing the spaghetti monster on a ruck.
Your not wrong I was in a BSB and holy shit if we were in formation with our rucks and or assault packs it looked like hot ass besides a few soldiers that took care of their gear
I agree with the rest…loose ends on bags piss me off and so does a clearly fucked up uniform…however pt test…no fuck that…the army gave me the mental and physical health problems I have today…they can accept my minimum 😂 I do my mos better than most, I’m fucking great at it…that and a squared away uniform and gear is about all I have left in me lol 😂
Concur. Doing the minimum is an excuse to be lazy, weak, and indisciplined. How you take on the ACFT carries over into everything you do. Great content, sar’ent.
61 on the ACFT is exceeding the Army standards
🤣
I’m a CW4 with 30 years AFS (won’t see 5, no positions for my MOS). You can bet your ass I’m doing 60 across the board 😅

Most people sandbag the ACFT because they are saving every last bit of energy for the run because they are afraid they will fail.

A guy can score 600 on the acft, but can't shoot 40/40 with an acog when the m4 Qual got easier.... Yea, great soilder right there.
I just wanna pass sarnt I aint trying to be a pt stud. Sincerely Sham shield mafia 😂
“Paid to perform” sum get paid more than others, I perform better than sum who are paid more to perform, so I get their pay??
That would be great 👍
My pet peeve is POGs making UA-cam channels to try and sound inspirational. This ain’t gonna get you promoted my guy.
At no point should leadership intergect there opinions into regulations.
