Can't even down the kid. Sure he's misinformed by tv and social media. But he was willing to sit in that chair, speak his points, and listen to the other side which is more than most. He did it calmly and politely and hopefully he took something from it. I only wish we had more Crowders on campuses across the country.
100%, he sat down and had a conversation and wasn't a hostile assh*le. He's just incredibly misinformed and looking to sources that purposefully misinform the public to push an evil narrative.
There is no such thing as "listening to the other side" anymore. It's right vs wrong. Good vs evil. If your not standing for the flag, the constitution and our rights then move to another country. See how fast you'll be running back. Just look at brittney griner. She hated America. Then begged America to save her and was dying to come back.
Look at European countries.
@@oneonone8855 This isn't Europe. Go live there. They may be willing to give up their rights but we won't. Look what they were before we had our rights. I would like to not go back to that, we fought that and formed a new country to get away. There's nowhere to go now if we go back.
Agreed, people are always gonna disagree about issues but it takes strong people to discuss them calmly and rationally.
This is proof his generation is being manipulated.
I commend him for listening, properly responding and being respectful, it’s rare these days.
And then there was the douche who walked behind them and intentionally hit the camera.
As a 23 year old I couldn’t believe this dude didn’t know the difference between assault style rifles and semi automatic rifles, honestly dude knew nothing ab guns, he was def not allowed to play m rated games growing up lmaoooooooo
@@mathtutor66
It’s regurgitation of the narrative. He follows CNN, and does not check any of the information.
Every generation is being manipulated. It all comes down to political agenda. That's why you don't see people sign waving about how distracted or unsafe driving is our biggest problem. Distracted and unsafe driving kills on average 2,500% more people in America than assault rifle homicides. I've run the numbers from dmv and the state corners office ( unbiased sources) from 2022
CrowderBits is making up "facts" to support their thinking. For example, they can not show any facts regarding norway and france being above USA when it comes to shooting. What other facts are they manipulating? Now I can not trust any statements they say.
I love how they add "assault" to everything they don't like. I've heard "assault rifle", "assault pistol", "assault-style knife". What do those things even mean? God forbid I ever have to defend myself with a fork and they call for a ban on "assault forks"
People tend to use over dramatic (sometimes just wrong) wording to make their point seem more powerful, when the point they are arguing is completely pointless and has no merit.
Basically Europe rn
None of those are as bad as assault laws.
They love to pretend assault isn’t a verb in this case.
Verbs are actionable. As far as I know, guns can’t shoot by themselves.
Also, for anyone interested, go look at the MW definitions for assault, assault weapon, and firearm online. Then go look at those same definitions from a dictionary or encyclopedia from 10+ years ago and they’ll be different.
Trying to redefine words and meanings....
Didn’t you know? Guns are more dangerous when they look “scary” lol
This is what I like to see. Calm, rational conversation / debate on both sides. This does so much more than screaming at one another.
Props to this kid for being diplomatic and open to discussion.
Kid was a plant, just like all of these "SCHOOLED" kids Crowder "owns"
yeah
Indeed. As long as he is willing to talk with an open mind he isn't the problem and we shouldn't make fun of him. The problem are those who are not willing to have their views challenged.
Why don’t republicans allow people to carry guns at the next Trump rally? All these clowns say they don’t want gun free zones until their life is at risk.
@@Skruddle To be fair not everyone is obsessed with guns. Some find ways to not live in constant fear and feel the need own guns as toys that rip through bodies. It is a different mindset. I owned guns growing up hunting, and though I understand why people find shooting guns fun, it bothers the hell out of me that people rush to the store to buy the same gun that is used to mow down kids in a school.
Good Lord what a breath of fresh air this young man is! I can't even get my liberal daughters to listen like this. I do NOT care if people ultimately agree with me. I just desire what we see here: A person lacking some key information who is willing to listen to the other side. We need SO much more of this. Awesome exchange.
I'm a Gen Z and my biggest gripe with Gen Z is how everybody refuses to listen to the other sides arguments. It hurts my soul when I try to defend my views on guns in a civil manner and try to promote civil debate but everybody just throws insults rather than discussing why they feel that way. Locking views onto one side of the political spectrum is such a close minded thing to do.
I just agree with some points of both sides, to meet in the middle is key, but i also just think the right and the left extremists make both sides seem worse than they are. There are things liberals have said and voted for that im like "that will help only a small amount of people" and there are things that the conservatives say "that will also only help a small amount of people" ive been the victim of bills from both sides, and sure im in the minority, i can agree thst not everything will always get fixed, but i csnt follow liberals because most are too extreme and most conservatives cant agree our medical system is messed up and seriously hurts people. Notice i said most
You should show them Brandon Herrera's video about the shooting of the Japanese prime minister. It shows/ proves that even if you have a ban of guns someone will make one out of everyday parts.

Are you sure? I thought the study showed the opposite. That's why they get brought up.
@Sicilian49
Although mass shootings are not unique to the U.S., the country has the highest rate of gun deaths among rich countries-more than eight times higher than Canada and nearly 100 times higher than the U.K. The aftermath of each attack in the U.S. follows a similar trajectory: calls for greater gun control that are met with opposition from Republican lawmakers, and legislative inaction. But in a number of other countries-notably New Zealand and Norway-a single mass shooting has been enough to force widespread change.

Some pretty serious representation .
To combat the unjustified fear of firearms that so many people seem to have ( even many police at this point ) , minimum of a pistol ( even an ideal conceal brand ) should be mandatory for everyone 21 years old or older in all public spaces , a minimum of a shotgun / Armalite Rifle should be mandatory for all homeowners .
There may even be no more assaults .

If you're a homeowner without a shotgun or an armalite rifle and / or if you have ever been in a public space without a pistol , YOU have enabled it .

It's still a bit of an ad hominem that can cause a person to go into defensive mode. Once someone is defensive, no amount of arguments will get through anymore.
Steve figured this out and has figured out how to stay stoic, when we know he's probably feeling what we all feel, annoyance, anger, etc. But he's created a new space in his mind for rational debate that shuts out all the primal emotions at having our rights assaulted from seemingly every possible direction.
9:37 you absolutely are not more likely to survive a stabbing attack. Knives are CRAZY deadly, easy to get, and even easier to use than any firearm within a few feet of a target, which is the VAST VAST majority of altercations that occur. Its hard to miss with a knife too because you just keep attacking until the person stops moving.
Even cops know this. I saw one female police officer get stabbed multiple times before she could get her gun out of it's holster, much less the other male cop. Been a couple of years since I saw that video, so not sure if she survived (he stabbed her under her vest).
Not only that, but knife wounds are much more difficult to deal with in some cases. For example if you have a knife stuck inside you, your first instinct would be to try and pull it out right? That is the absolute worst thing you can do, it’ll make you bleed out faster and make the wound much worse and have things be much worse off for you. Now imagine what will happen if someone tried attacking you with the knife, now you have 5 or more of those wounds all bleeding all open and are all in the body with vital organs potentially harmed. A gunshot in some cases is actually more survivable than that surprisingly depending on certain factors and things.
Not to mention that if the attacker twists the knife in the wound then the wound channel will be much larger and much harder to stop the bleeding! @@leviuzumaki3903

Agreed but I hope you recognize the same behavior on your own team. I feel strongly that the leftis far more guilty of it than the right right now but there’s extremist on both sides. If they would shut up and let the rest of us have these conversations where we can disagree and share information and not hate each other, the world would be much better off
@@trevormckeehen2010 I 100% agree with you on that. I really wish more people would assume a diplomatic role during debates instead of getting heated over a simple disagreement.
@@trevormckeehen2010 no it’s by FAR the left who do this and it’s not even close. And it’s not my opinion pretty much everybody reasonable on the left says this and nobody on the Write virtually says this about the right. But most importantly, the crazies on the left to say yes we don’t talk to the right because they’re past the Overton window and they’re far right terrorists and white supremacists. So no, it’s not a both sides problem. It’s almost uniquely and entirely on the left.
@@trevormckeehen2010 like show me the example when a left-wing speaker goes to a college campus and they try and shut him down. It doesn’t happen, but it routinely happens when reversed.
His entire argument was “why do we need them I’ve never needed one”
I've never needed a fire extinguisher either, but I have one right by my stove.
Logic is not something that is encouraged by those that wish to control others. Emotions can be manipulated, logical thoughts cannot.
Im an American living in Australia and thats exaclty whats happening here. Do not give up your rights America
Others ppl Feelings and thoughts don’t conquer my rights. The same ppl that wants to abolish guns are the sameones that call 911 to bring a gun to save them 10 to 15 mins to late. But also wanna defund the police until their protest sign is broken🤷🏻
He really said “protect themselves from what?”😹😹😹😹
Ghouls and goblins from fairytales 😂
Other people with guns derrrr!
the original reason why we have the right to bear arms is the to protect ourselves from a tyranical government, so we held power over native americans, and so we could keep slaves in control.
@@benscott633some people just a special kinda dumb I guess
Says while you all have massive open border to another country that is actually sending its criminals to you. XD LOL
Respectful kid just needs to be educated.
As soon as he said “you’re more likely to survive a stabbing than a gunshot wound,” I immediately knew why he’s in college. He’s obviously too incompetent to teach himself anything.
The young man lives in comfort. He has no idea what 'protecting yourself from evil' looks like. To strip someone of their right to do so is evil itself.
This kid is the hope for us. He's smart, open-minded, and means well. He's simply operating on bad information. Garbage in, garbage out. If he had the correct information, he would turn the corner. So nice to see an open-minded leftist on a college campus. Candace Owens is the evolved version of this good kid!
Unfortunately he will just walk away from this saying Stevens statistics are incorrect, and banning guns will solve the issues of our society. I see it time and time again in discussions people have and it always ends the same way. Anti -gun people don’t like guns, and pro-gun people do.
I personally think it comes down to never personally experiencing violent life threatening situations/fear of being incapable of protecting themselves with any tool regardless of the situation, and belief that our Government will somehow be there in an unfortunate situation to help them. Usually people change their minds about firearms after they personally become victims.
Now his professors are gonna fail him 😂 universities are such garbage
He's lost! Just like you! No time for debate! It's war time! Lead, follow, or get out of the way!
If guns were banned the only people that would have guns are Criminals and Cops.
Candace Ownens literally did a hit piece on Crowder where she jump cut the footage to make him look worse. Check the timestamp. His wife set that up and recorded it just to bust his balls, and the video didn't even show anything. Candace Ownens is a POS.
I disagree with his point of view but i appreciate how his conducts himself and is willing to listen to the other side.
I didn't vaccinate for COVID and I am pro-2A. I'm also a gay guy in a far-left city. When I have private 1:1 conversations about COVID and guns with gay guys, this is often how the conversations go. And almost 100% of the conversations, when had in private, go exactly like this.
I was in the military around this time period. I watched people who were convicted of manslaughter go through about 11 months of lounging around before being sent off to prison. Still getting paid in the meantime. But if you refused the vaxine (yeah i know how its spelled but just so it doesn’t get deleted) you were home and discharged within a month. With recruiting issues being insanely high they didnt seem to care when it came to this which was extremely strange to me. They ended up kicking a sizable amount of people out and that always stuck with me. You were outed faster than an actual killer after being convicted!
I've never understood why people would argue against things they have no clue about. This kid seemed to thoughtfully consider what he was told. Hopefully he'll take that and do his own research, and not use biased media to do it.
The problem is people don't know what they don't know. It's ignorance not malicious because their sources don't provide them with this information. They come in trusting their sources would provide them with what they need to know which is why the arguments are so swallow because that's the level of information they are given. For example people don't know what an assault rifle is but MSM refers to AR-15's as an assault rifle so people assume an AR-15 must be an assault rifle, that's why they are so confident until they are confronted and then they immediately go on the defensive when they realize they don't actually know what they are talking about
Not sure there is any such thing as unbiased media. Maybe we have to choose based on which biased media seems to have the most true facts.
@@Jesus_is_Lord_24-7 true. You can't even trust your local news. My local newspaper flat out refuses to report on certain stories, and will go out of their way to conduct interviews with people directly involved in a story, yet won't even include anything they said in the articles. Local woman starts troubled youth facility? Rumor is it's a halfway house for drug dealers, let's tell people that. 5 year old unsolved murder finally solved? Nah, let's ignore that.
@@Jesus_is_Lord_24-7that's why we need to get our news from many different sources to form our own opinions. The vast majority of the population watches nothing but CNN or Fox News and automatically believes what they're told is true.
In psychology, it’s called the Dunning Kruger effect, and it makes total sense. The more you learn about something the more you feel like you’re not an expert because you realize how much you don’t know. The less you know about something the more confident you are in your rightness.
Kudos to this young man for having a civil conversation and admitting he’s willing to learn more about the issue
Big applause for the kid having an opposing view and maintaining a calm and respectful demeanor. These are the type of conversations that should be going on more often 👏
4:36 saying automatic machine gun is like saying chai tea, your saying the same thing twice
This conversation in this format on college campus is so massively important. Thank you!!
The worst anti-gun statement I've heard was from a teacher about guns in schools. She was against arming teachers because "we shouldn't have to".
Correct - in a perfect world, teach. Unfortunately, no one lives in a perfect world. But keep your head in the sand, teach, everything will be great.
Just world fallacy
I am from the UK, so my view on this is skewed. If you don't want to get rid of your right to own a gun, what do you suggest to reduce the incidents from happening that doesn't involve regressing back to the wild west? I understand the answer might be arming more people, training them in proper gun safety etc, but if it wasn't what would your solution be? I do not think arming everyone and training them is the answer, it'll lead to more people who shouldn't have them being able to do even crazier stuff in my opinion. I am just curious what the other side thinks about this, open to a new view.
@@migo70 as an American who is very pre 2nd amendment I will say the idea of more guns is a bit silly. really the only thing I can see helping is tougher punishment and enforcement of the gun laws on the books. Harsher punishment for those who do straw purchases, which are buying guns for those who cannot not legal buy one, and making gun theft in line with grand theft.
@@migo70 Thank you. Well first of all, the 2nd amendment cannot go away, as it is a key to keeping citizens free. As soon as the government is all that has guns, then the government can do anything they want to the citizens. We all have a right to protect our selves and our families. As you know, we never had these shootings until fairly recently in history. The thing that changed is the people and our law enforcement. One problem with statistics on shootings is that they include gang bangers shootings and suicides. You simply do not see law-abiding people with guns doing these crimes. So if the solution is banning guns, then you will simply be disarming all the law abiding citizens. What is more, is that it would be impossible to disarm Americans as there are just too many gun owners. More guns than people. It would take a police state to do that. The solution lies with addressing: Crime, law enforcement, sentences for gun crimes, working to reassemble families and values, and holding better morals. How those get addressed is both simple and complex as it will be fought by those who think the answer is a simple as banning guns.
Most intelligent conversation between two sides I’ve ever seen this kid is actually useing his mind great conversation
Common sense is if you ban firearms, the criminals will still find access to them. Now the law abiding citizens have no firearms to protect themselves against the criminals with firearms. Why is this so hard to understand🤣
This kid lives in a little, perfet world, cushy college life. He doesn't even understand why a normal person would need to have a gun to protect their lives, family and property. Wake up kid, CRIMINALS DO NOT FOLLOW LAWS. its actually that simple and factual.
You’re not wrong, but he did entertain new information. He seemed curious in my opinion. Hopefully he starts to look into it more.
The issue is all opinions/facts are not treated equally. Those in the know must stay silent in education or face severe reprimand, not only from their peers but even from academic officials/groups, which will censure or even terminate their employment/attendance. Thus, education becomes an echo chamber of ideals based on faulty premises, resulting in a positive feedback loop of disinformation. The best outcome is what was shown in the video. An individual that is willing to entertain a conversation, willing to judge based on new information, and willing to be civil in discourse.
@@Flight042 I loved debating and discussions in my philosophy, ethics and business classes 👍boy howdy!
Young people, regardless of what generation they come from lack life experience. Most kids on a college campus have been sheltered from evil, and to great extent "real life" since the day they were born. They have never been in a fight, don't know a women that has been raped, haven't accidentally ended up in the wrong part of town, haven't lived through 9/11, now live at a place with panic buttons every hundred yards and security minutes away. They just don't know what they don't know.
@@chrisanthony579 then they hit the real world and it all comes crashing down on them.
This kid has already made up his mind, nothing is going to change his view due to his source "CNN" and Twitter?
Willfully ignorant.
The idea that a stranger could have a gun on them is a big deterrence
This young guy is great. Even when you can tell crowder is pumping his brakes on him at times the young man stays genuinely interested in understanding the discussion. I don’t agree with him but absolutely dig his tone and temperament and his genuine interest to engage in the discussion. Kudos to him… I suspect he will soon have his awakening.
I want to be able to defend myself from people who want me to not be able to defend myself.
If we're using the high end, 30K vs 3M is a fantastic reason to remove all firearm infringements on the books.
I love people that don't have guns. They will supply me with food and water in a time of crises. LOL!!
I’ve been through an armed home invasion robbery. So if or when it happens, you absolutely need a firearm. If people practice, most of the time they practice against a stationary paper target. Not a moving target and in a no stress situation. Also with handguns and the high stress situation, people miss. They don’t tend to come by themselves. Usually 3 or more. If you hit them, good chance you might wound them, making them sometimes even more dangerous. So guns are necessary and an 8 round magazine is often not enough (1911, sig p220, etc.) Lastly, there are more struggling and desperate people now than ever before. It’s already happened to me, but it’s more likely than ever in the U.S. that it will happen to you now. If desperate people learn law abiding citizens are much less likely to have a firearm, due to an anti gun law, they will be much more tempted to break in. They already do right now. Imagine if it was safer for the robber. Yes it will get bad.
This is awesome man. Civil discussions like this are so important.
The media is beyond bias. God forbid people know the real truth. I think the way you presented yourself was very professional straightforward and factual. My hat's off to you sir
i chatted with an anti-gun person, he said he would rather be killed by the bad guy than take his life to spare his.
Why didn't he compare vehicle deaths to firearms deaths and ask him if he thinks cars should be banned to save lives?
This world would be a lot better off if more people of differing opinions could sit and calmly discuss them like this. It's refreshing to see someone openly discuss their ideas, and actually listen and analyze what is being said to them in rebuttal, weighing and considering it, instead of the usual ignore/shoutdown tactics that so many people use these days.
I like how respectful the young man was even with a differing opinion. Great job Mr. Crowder.
At least the kid was polite and respectful. Thats a start. Hes not completely lost. He was willing to listen and didnt resort to insults.
I love that Steven stopped to clarify the difference between a machine gun and a semi automatic. Too many of these anti-gun people have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about.
As a Native American woman they are going to have to pry my guns out of my cold dead hands. I KNOW what the government can do.. It happened to my people… and as a women? They are the great equalizer.
