My BTA Minecraft World :) Check out BTA: @BetterthanAdventure #minecraft #minecraftbta #classicminecraft #minecraftjava #moddedminecraft #betterthanadventure
Fog is incredibly nostalgic. Reminds me of playing the free version (whatever that was even called) on the Mojang website where they basically had a wacky creative mode.
Your building style amazes me, I’ve been trying to recapture the way I used to build in Minecraft forever, but I could never get it quite the same as the first time I played Minecraft
This is a really cool house. I love the idea of adding onto a structure, instead of rebuilding it or creating an entirely new one. It feels very nostalgic to me, because my first world, which i called "dog" was built in a very similar fashion. As a kid i was strangely scared of the outside in minecraft, probably from all the stories of herobrine, mobs, rumors and overall lack of knowledge. But because i was so scared, the way I built my house, was like a fortress. I built walls in the spawn area, probably not bigger than like 4 chunks, and instead of building outwards, i built as tall as i could. I added next floors with whatever materials i could get my hands on. Wood, cobblestone, dirt, actual trees (when i planted a sapling), wool, You name it. I wish i had saved some pictures, because the build was so unique and specific, it's really hard to explain, but believe me it was very cool, especially to my young self. I used to go out on "expeditions" it almost felt like i'm a colonizer of a new planet and i need to go on a mission for new materials and then come back as soon as possible before the night falls. I'd gather materials, get dirt, kill animals, or whatever i got and got back. (Whole time shitting my pants) I remember also having a mine going down under my walls, because i still wanted all the stone and ores from there, that was okay, but the outside was EVIL and i needed to defend myself from it. There was one hilarious story i remember. I was mining in my mine below the base, and I stumbled upon Lapis lazuli, which i didn't know existed back then. And i remember being so happy i found my first DIamonds i ran to my mom and told her about it. Then when i mined it, it looked like a dried up plum, or an old person. I was so confused I thought i did something wrong and the next day when i went to school i told my friend that showed me the game about it, and he laughed. He explained to me what lapis lazuli was, and that I didn't actually find diamonds. We still joke about that to this day, that i found shriveled up diamonds and all i needed to do is just add water to it. I wish old minecraft came back, because it had a lot more creativity by limitation and a certain solitude mysticy to it. And "Better than Adventure " is the closest thing to it. I'm glad it exists.
Thats almost exactly how I played Minecraft back in the day! I had a "huge" city I made one time made of cobblestone, but I was literally terrified to go mining because i was so scared of the mobs. I'd always wall everything outside off so I felt safe, and I'd imagine being a king over my kingdom and having a huge fortress. I lost all those old worlds though sadly, so they're just memory. I will say I miss the old days of Minecraft, but BTA really is a breath of fresh air if that makes sense.
Creativity by limitation. Dude. That puts such a quick and concise explanation to a feeling about new Minecraft that I've been struggling with. There's so many options, so much variety that it's crossed the threshold of being actually beneficial to creativity. Now there's just so much it's overwhelming. And either your build gets insanely busy, or you never start at all because it's too daunting.
@@christcarscountry6870 on top of that, instead of having to imagine a thing, say barrels in a winery for example, like what block could substitute them, they already exist. Nothing to create or imagine. It'd be silly not to use barrels if they already exist. Different states of copper? Like for a liberty statue for example? It could've been wood, gold and maybe some blue block to give it that oxidized look. But now? There's already every state of copper so it'd be silly not to use it. In addition to lack of imagination, it just feels overwhelming with the amount of choice and blocks. Like before? I think a brown block and I think: dirt, wood, brown wool. I didn't have any issues jumping in and just going for it. Now? I'd probably have 20 choices, every rainbow color of concrete, stained glass and a thousand different block options. I just don't like how modern Minecraft feels like a nodded version. Nothing wrong with playing modded when you want to, but i just don't wanna do that ALL the time. I don't even want to start on the modes of transportation and how modern Minecraft robs you of the sense of adventure, because now instead of planning, creating routes, making outposts, using boats Minecarts, you literally just don't have to. On top of the already ridiculous speeds you can cross a biome while running, you can also get a horse very easily, in the ocean speed with dolphins, in the end game use an elytra, and even the boat itself is so fucking fast and responsive compared to the tricky old one you had to know how to navigate and break 4 times on a trip. Better than Adventure Minecraft solves a lot of those issues, but it's not perfect. It's like a great mix between old and modern Minecraft, I highly recommend you it if you haven't seen it or played it yet. Cheers, and enjoy seeking adventure
I love your buildings, they’re so much more creative than what I would’ve expected from older Minecraft. Great video, hope to see more videos on this if not a let’s play. I admit the let’s play format is a bit tired but progress videos like this are great :)
A tip to prevent animals despawning: better than adventure has name tags, they function the same as modern minecraft but with some additional features! I like to make brown sheep VIPs with their own houses
I always forget just how much I love the look of old minecraft, I play modern versions of minecraft with mods and texture packs to make it look more like beta but none of them really nail that feeling. Also I really like your base, very cozy!
Awesome video. I did the same when it comes to not researching the modpack while playing. The crafting menu really helped me not need to go look things up without just telling all the recipes right from the beginning. It seems like every openworld game has a wiki these days, and developers almost seem to rely of people just reading the wiki to figure things out, rather than making games that you can just play and forgot about anything else.
This video itself gives you a 2011 Minecraft world tour feeling, it reminds me of the good old day I would get back home from school and binge watch my favorite youtubers' gameplay. Thanks for the video, man! Loved your buildings ❤
@@christcarscountry6870 exactly. They felt like they were built out of survival, so each building holds more to it when you see it. Now a days, everything feels like it's just meant to look cool.
The sign in front of the bed is something I had never seen and it is really something that had not occurred to me XD good constructions good world in general.
Haha! Why not both? I have a world I play in vanilla as well. BTA to me is like a blast from the past though, and it's like re-learning the game again. I recommend giving it a shot, but up to you! :)
Really cool video man! Quick question, did you put some kind of filters in this video? because it looks like how I remember the ps3 versions recordings, and also everything has like some kind of glow to it.
I'm playing on a mod called Better than Adventure. In its settings you can adjust the gamma and bloom making it feel like legacy console, as well as raise the hotbar similar to how the old xbox/ps Minecraft was! It's a pretty fun mod, I have BTA's UA-cam channel linked in the video description if you wanna check it out!
I need a house tutorial of yours, since ive been only building most simple and newer builds🙂, bi always want to make houses like this(nostalgic) but i mess up and end up making more modern ones🙂😊
I've never seen gameplay of this mod and when i clicked on this video that got recommend the first few seconds i thought it was the legacy edition consoles
Yeah I'm planning on doing one! :) I'm not totally sure when the first episode will release though because I've been pretty busy irl, but i'm hoping to record one soon!
(edit) sorry if you read the comment before clicking on the notification... incase you didn't, spoiler warning about mobs despawning If you use a label on a mob, they won't despawn
It's all part of the Better than Adventure mod. In its settings it allows you to adjust gamma, hotbar hight, bloom, and a bunch more. It's linked in the description if you want to check it out
Thank you all for the kind comments! I will do my best to continue making content for yall :)
This feels like on of those videos you would watch in 2012 that would teach you how to craft the newest items. Excellent work.
The fog makes the ambiance even more nostalgic

Bro this feels like a video from 2010-2012 lol
So calm and relaxing tbh, i love it
i'd love a let's play for this mod, we have to go back to the old minecraft days
And this comment aged like some fine wine.
Nice job OP 👍
this is such an old minecraft esque base, and there's something dream like about this video too

You really captured the classic build style of just going with the flow and having fun, nice world man. I have to try this mod out

This legitimately feels like im watching a 2010 minecraft video haha, great work!
man I wasn’t even born at that time but this still feels nostalgic to watch.
It's fucking wild to me that I've been playing a video game for so long that it's older than some people

Very interesting buildings, I like it
im so glad this genre of minecraft has taken off
Damn this literally gave me motivation to play Minecraft again:))
the high gamma plus the fog gives everything such a nostalgic look
the room in your basement could be used as a beer room with barrels of beer
your house reminds me so much of a base I made with my brother and cousin on the PS3 edition on a long survival world we had, good times.
POV: Timothée Chalamet shows you his minecraft base
Old long-term survival bases were so mich cooler in my opinion. They didnt necessarily look good. But they were so cool to see.
Almost like they were more rugged and built for necessity and defense rather than style, and therein lies the style.
@@christcarscountry6870 exactly. They felt like they were built out of survival, so each building holds more to it when you see it. Now a days, everything feels like it's just meant to look cool.

Just came across your video and I am hooked on it. New sub coming your way!
oh gosh this takes me back. I'm so conflicted between wanting to play on my current Minecraft world and starting one on this mod. Ahhhh
Haha! Why not both? I have a world I play in vanilla as well. BTA to me is like a blast from the past though, and it's like re-learning the game again. I recommend giving it a shot, but up to you! :)
@huntclanLIVE It's more of wanting to play both right now haha. But I've got BTA downloaded now, probably gonna play tonight. I'm excited
I like the place for the boats, make a restaurant in your house (the lower part out of bricks)
The guy sounds a lot like Moist critical, but if he was a normal person
Beatiful video and house
Good video keep up the good work!👍
Use labels to name your animals so they don’t despawn
hey man nice video but i think you sound like moistcritical
Chill world 👍
What a house!

How did you raise your hotbar up higher than default?
Also awesome world!
I might play this version eventually, currently I'm playing b1.7.3
Birth of a legand
cool world
I need a house tutorial of yours, since ive been only building most simple and newer builds🙂, bi always want to make houses like this(nostalgic) but i mess up and end up making more modern ones🙂😊
idk why the intro reminds me to my old 1.5.2 minecraft memories
Might sound extremely basic but for a desk chair, just make a minecart it always works plus you can actually sit in it
You can make labels with paper and string I think. They act like name tags, preventing despawning
I've never seen gameplay of this mod and when i clicked on this video that got recommend the first few seconds i thought it was the legacy edition consoles
The thumbnail looks familiar
do a lets play!
Yeah I'm planning on doing one! :)
I'm not totally sure when the first episode will release though because I've been pretty busy irl, but i'm hoping to record one soon!
nice house
Do you have a console graphics pack on?! Where did you get that at??
He raised the gamma levels
@@AstronomicalSFSthat’s more than gamma I’m pretty sure
You can make animals not despawn by putting a label on them.
Nice video! how the hell did you find seeds to farm with?
You have to break the tall grass with a hoe!
This feels like legacy edition
Man, that look great. Like old minecraft of console, how you did it?
Let’s play but pls no music
Is it just me or does it look like the xbox 360/ps3 versions of Minecraft?
It isn´t just you I can notice that too it´s really interesting!
Nice vid bro
Noice
