You didn't mention it, but did you notice the Theartre teacher of Sidney was played by David Warner who was the photographer, Keith Jennings in The Omen (amongst many other brilliant roles).
The Scream sequels are brilliant, the writing is just so good. The great thing about the Scream films were they were so self aware, in that it even though it is a serious subject they constantly refers to old Horror films and makes reference to the plot of them etc. It also spawned superb sequels, each one of them is great too and well worth a watch. You gotta do all the sequels, the writing is just so clever. Sarah Michelle Gellar ( Buffy herself! ) is here in Scream 2, but can't use her slaying powers here. Really top female actors in all the Scream films firstly Drew Barrymore, then Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox (the constants), Rose McGowan, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Heather Graham, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Rebecca Gayheart, Portia De Rossi, Emily Mortimer, Emma Roberts, Hayden Pannettiere, Anna Paquin, Kristen Bell, Jenny McCarthy, Parker Posey, Alison Brie, Aimee Teegarden, Mary McDonnell, Jenna Ortega, and they are just the ones I can remember! The plots are just so clever you will love them. You gotta do all the sequels!
It's so funny to me that reactors always say the detective should shoot the killer while he's in the car. He doesn't because there are two innocent people sitting in the back seat. He doesn't want to hit either of them.
Ehhhhhhh sure but even then it’s completely out of character for Sidney to not take the gun out of his dead hand after she escapes the car and shoot the killer, at the very least take off the mask with the gun in her hand
Great reaction! I admit when i first watched , i suspected the two sorority girls. Not a totally crazy guess because they wrote 3 possible endings in case anything got leaked, and they were the killers in one of those.
This movie is so meaningful to me, I remember it was my first Scream movie and watching it with my brother on VHS in the late 90s. Still my fav sequel (and 3!).
Definetly all the sequels are good. I know it’s rare for these kind of franchises, but Scream keeps the level up high. Of course there are some better than others (3 it’s my least fav), but every single one has something worthy. Btw the sixth one is SO good.
I remember watching the hospital scene on my first viewing of the film. I thought it was odd of Mickey to know that Derek went back into the house when he walked out with the other party guests. He also wasn’t upset over Dereks arm getting slashed and his classmate Cici being killed. He wasn’t worried and was smiling while talking to Sidney putting doubts in her head. I knew from there that he was one of the killers. Everyone else was upset and worried about Dereks arm and poor Cici getting killed. Also the scene after she got scared during her rehearsal by Ghostface. Mickey was supposed to pick her up. He didn’t and instead scared her and sent Derek to make Derek more of a suspect. He was definitely jealous of Derek, he was jealous of Phil in the opening too. He carried a video camera and filmed everything. When I saw the scene where Dewey and Gale watched the footage, we saw footage of the victims that he killed which gives away that it is someone who carries a video camera. We see that Mickey carries the video camera, which is another sign that Mickey is one of the killers. I didn’t suspect Derek because there was no red flags. Mickey also wanted to get caught and become famous for what he did. Imagine if Sidney saw Mrs Loomis earlier and recognised her. She wouldn’t have suspected Derek.
You have got to watch all the sequels! There are no bad Scream movies and you'll be hooked! So many levels and they are so fun! Also the killers are always great fun to try and figure out! Looking forward for the next reactions.
Yes! All the sequels are worth it. I don t think any of them are “bad”, just different levels of good. Haha. Also, all I know about Cassandra is Cassandra promised Apollo favors, and He wanted to be with her, so gave her the gift of foresight to win her over. but, after receiving the gift, she went back on her word and refused Apollo. Apollo could not revoke a divine power, he added a curse that nobody would believe Cassandra's prophecies.
In the Iliad, Cassandra was a princess of Troy (Apollo was the patron god of Troy) and predicted the fall of Troy being brought about by her brother Paris.
In the movie during film class Mickey brings up the Godfather part 2 as an example of a superior sequel BUT I possit that it doesn't count as, like Empire Strikes Back, it's part of a series not just a sequel
Fun fact. Original script. Derek the bf was the killer with hallie Sid’s best friend and Mrs loomis. Script got leaked. So they changed it to Mickey and Mrs loomis. Also u point out when randy says who he thinks could be the killer he’s always right. Scream 1 he called billy and Stu. And he said Mickey talking to Dewey and that it could be a mother. Just like randy said Jason’s mother. Which it was true being Billy’s mom. Rip randy he was the audience voice
Ooooo boy. This is def a step down from the first but still good. Not sure why it doesn’t hit the same except for the fact that it loses a little impact when you use the same costume for a new killer. That said, Billy’s mom being the killer was a great choice. Just wish they would have had a better third act.
I'm up to Scream 3 so far. From what I've seen, 3 is usually considered the weakest, but I find it eminently watchable. One thing I like about Dewey is that he's not Rambo or Harry Callahan or anything like that. He's just an ordinary guy who is fundamentally decent. If that ever changes (no spoilers, please), I'll be very unhappy.
Really fun reaction - thank you! I saw another "quiet/LoFi" movie this week you may enjoy, but not as a reaction movie. It's a French Canadian film called 'Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person'. A little treasure for those middle of the night viewings.
Ohhh, that’s getting added to the list immediately. Love the title. I’ve been so busy lately so still havent gotten around to I Saw the TV Glow but soon, hopefully!
@@laurashawnlee I think (I hope!) you'll really enjoy both movies. They're both such a vibe, but in different, quiet ways. I just grinned all through 'HVSCSP'.
Check these movies out if you haven’t seen them: Scary Movie(2000), Jennifer’s Body(2009), The Faculty(1998), Trick ‘r Treat(2007), Jeepers Creepers(2001), I Still Know What You Did Last Summer(1998), Scary Movie 2(2001), and Scary Movie 3(2003).
To me Scream 1 and Scream 2 are together as stone cold classics. They came out within 1 year of each other and I was 14 and 15 respectively when they were released and I saw them both multiple times in theaters and loved them both. They will always be the top 2 Scream movies for me and are very close in the rankings. IMO Scream 3 is probably the "worst" scream movie but even that one is still fun. Scream 3 is the only one of the 4 Scream movies that Wes Craven directed not to be written by Kevin Williamson and I think you can feel it. It just feels a little bit cheesier to me. The dialogue just doesn't quite feel the same. Scream 1,2, and 4 written by Kevin Williamson and Directed by Wes Craven, Scream 3 written by Ehren Krueger and directed by Wes Craven. Screams 5 and 6 written and directed by the movie making team known as Radio Silence (Wes had passed away and Kevin Williamson gave his blessing and some notes and is a producer). Scream 5 and 6 does feel different than the 4 films Craven made but they made sure to treat the franchise with respect as they were massive fans. On the other hand Ehren Krueger on part 3 was more of a hired gun for the project.
not gonna lie part 3 is the weakling of the franchise- it definitely has a lot of great ideas but not all of them are executed as well as the ideas in the first 2 films and unfortunately a lot of behind the scenes drama altered what could have been instead of what we got. Having said all that, scream 3 is still very entertaining. Theres plenty to love from that movie, especially a particular performance from a certain actress. It also explores a character in a way that works, solely in terms of the tragedy of it all. definitely worth the watch. part 4 is my personal favorite and what i think is the best killer reveal/motive but i know not everyone is a fan of that movie and thats okay. To each their own. 5 + 6 are both really good in a lot of ways but you can definitely see where each fumbles. the first is definitely the best one though, even though i love scream 4 more- i can look past my bias and rate each one with rigid criteria. scream just shines in quality
"Omega Beta Zeta!" Scream 2 is a bit lacking compared to 1, but still good. I love the team-up of Laurie Metcalf and Timothy Olyphant, who both go to 11 in the finale as befits a Scream entry 🤪 The introduction of the meta Stab series is hilarious too. "With my luck, they'd cast Tori Spelling" 🤣🤣🤣 The scene of Luke Wilson impersonating Skeet Ulrich is so funny, I only wish we knew who played Stu in Stab. My big complaint is Randy 😵 Look how they massacred my boy! It was Gale's phone too 😡 Mrs Loomis wanted to ice Gale and had to settle for Randy.
These are good movies. I think I only disliked Scream 3, but that was probably mainly due to the setting, so not objectively bad, just my personal preference. Also careful googling anything from the movies, spoilers can pop up anywhere. xD
I'm sorry, but I disagree about Aliens being better than Alien. Alien a slow burn, tension building, atmospheric horror taking place in outer space by an enemy you know nothing about, nor can you see it until it's too late. Aliens on the other hand, was an action movie with a bunch of jugheads running around showing their combined IQ is still on the left side of the bell curve. It also had to go and make Ripley maternal. Never once did she mention a daughter in Alien, which you would assume she would for her reason to get back. Perhaps it's just me, but I'm not big maternal/paternal storylines.
Oh I prefer Alien much more as well! I was just guessing the answers cos Aliens and Godfather II are the most well-known “sequels better than the original” 💖
@@laurashawnlee oh, lol, not you sweetheart, I could tell by the bent in your voice. I was breaking the - what would it be called - the 4th wall or the 5th wall? If so: Longlegs- creepy, atmospheric, slow burn horror suspense. Similar to Silence of the Lambs, but you have have to pay attention to the dialogue, quite often in the background of the shots. The original Swedish film of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and it's complete original trilogy original trilogy - The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest. They star Noomi Rapace, who played Dr. Shaw in the Alien prequels Prometheus and Alien Covenant.
oh! lol, my bad (: I have seen those movies (and very much enjoyed them all). I was going to save longlegs for a reaction but I was too excited and saw it in theater lol. And Noomi will always be the best Lisbeth. You can always leave more movie suggestions though, I add movies to the ever-growing watchlist 💖
Accurately identifying one of the killer's as "Roseanne's sister" upon seeing her for the 1st time is pretty impressive. 😂😂😂
Girlll! I just love your vibe 😂. You’re hilarious & so real. “Woah woah woah! What’s Rosanne doing?” LMAOOO you mean Jackie, sis? 🤣🤣 Instant sub!

Caller ID existed but it wasn’t a big thing before the release of the first Scream movie. After the movie’s release caller ID use tripled in the USA.
The cameraman and Sydney’s bestfriend are married in a show called ALL OF US . As many times as I seen this movie I JUST !!!! Realized 😂😂😂
I'm actually kind of bummed you don't have the first one on here tbh, I love your commentary!
It's so funny to me that reactors always say the detective should shoot the killer while he's in the car. He doesn't because there are two innocent people sitting in the back seat. He doesn't want to hit either of them.
Yeah. You can even hear him say, “Get down back there!” Right before he says “Pull over you son of a ****”
Ehhhhhhh sure but even then it’s completely out of character for Sidney to not take the gun out of his dead hand after she escapes the car and shoot the killer, at the very least take off the mask with the gun in her hand
Short Version: Cassandra had the gift of seeing the future, and the curse that no one would believe her. Both came from the gods of Olympus.
Great reaction! I admit when i first watched , i suspected the two sorority girls. Not a totally crazy guess because they wrote 3 possible endings in case anything got leaked, and they were the killers in one of those.

As soon as dewey appears on screen everyone goes all lovey dovey 🤣🥰 wouldn’t it be the buggest twist had he been the killer in the end hahaha

Technically, if they were trying to recreate Woodsboro, Maureen should have been killed before Phil in the opening
Well, they had to adjust who died due to circumstance.
