not only this was my first scream i watched on theater but it's also my favorite killer's motive because 'til this day it's the one that stood the test of time. emma roberts was born to be the innocent turn evil girl.
fun fact in olivias death scene it hints at jill being the killer because when they show Jill, Kirby, and Sidney. Jill is holding her phone up to the window recording.
Kirby Reed: [panicked.] Halloween, uh, Texas Chainsaw, Dawn of the Dead, The Hills Have E-e-eyes, Amityville Horror, Uh-uh, Last House on the Left, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare On Elm Street, My Bloody Valentine, When A Stranger Calls, Prom Night, Black Christmas, House of Wax, The Fog, Piranha. It's one of those, right? Right?! Laura Shawn: Ummm.. I don’t think it works that way, Kirby. Meanwhile, also Laura Shawn: It’s Jill, It’s Charlie, It's Jill and Trevor, Oooh, Is it Kirby?! It’s Judy Hops! If you guess them all, you’re bound to be right in some capacity, eventually. 😉 By the way, (So random, but I love that Robbie is also the (This song is called) “We hate you please die” guy from Scott Pilgrim vs The World.
Judy is my favourite new character, next to Kirby. Especially once you learn that she's good. It makes re-watching the film so much better knowing she's just a dorky cop in love. The literal female equivalent of Dewey in Scream 1.
They did her dirty in 5. She was supposed to have more scenes but they cut them out and made her look like a bad cop, just to have her and her son killed lol
The final Wes Craven Scream. RIP The three layer deep Stab-mocking meta opening is a classic (though I wish Brit Robertson had lasted longer), and propelling Emma Roberts onto her horror journey (this was pre-American Horror Story: Coven and Scream Queens) is something we should all be thankful to Wes for. 4 is still in my top 3, and as I have no intention of watching 7, I suspect it will remain there forever 😅
@@SamanthaScreem Really couldn't care less. They burned up any goodwill they had with me when they fired Mel for political speech. I won't see 7, but would watch a Core 4 movie.
I love the point you make at 11:08 ish about blending the new with the old. While I do love Scream 5/6, 4 does a better job of melding old and new. You're not bothered that we're seeing new characters on screen, nor just waiting for the old ones to get back into focus.
Love the reaction, scream 4 is my favorite one & it was supposed to be like a franchise reboot that why they were mirroring the original, wish they stocked with the original script
I grew up in love with the Scream franchise. I love fan theories about the movies as well. There are two theories that Stu Macher and Charlie Walker are still alive and are playing a background role in the rest of the movies. They're both wild rabbit holes! There's tons of believable evidence! The Charlie theory also states that Kirby is in on it. It's so believable and wild! I love both Matthew Lillard and Rory Culkin! I wouldn't be mad if either theory was real! I actually want them to be real! Loved your reaction! ❤❤
If it is something you’d be into, you should search for the Scream 4 Fan Edit. It’s a (in my opinion) better version of the film. It expands with alternate opening and longer scenes, giving characters more time to breathe.
Yeah, Scream 4 was my good to go for a while. Scream 3 is when I feel for a fun trip. But now my good to go are 1, 5 and 6. I love the core 4 and the Carpenter sisters.
Whew! This wasn't my favorite sequel at all. Kevin Williamson returning should have brought better results = but he clearly lost his way in writing teenagers. This batch of teen characters is nearly unwatchable, they're so poorly developed and uninteresting. The returning characters are fine. Just fine. The killer/s reveal was not great. Bad motivation. We've... maybe even already covered all this ground with previous killers. The film's best quality is its opening. Craven is still a master in his directing, his pacing, his command of New Hollywood aesthetic. There's something here but not much. _Scream 2_ and _Scream 3_ were vastly more entertaining and better suited to the strengths of the franchise.
What's wrong with motivation? I'd take that over "waah you stole my life, while i'm literally the director winning the awards and pretty successful" crap.
@@5i.260 The film would not exist if they didn't keep writing in PHONY family members with grudges. I do not care. At least we didn't know about the _Scream 3_ killer until the end, so it didn't ruin the movie like the _Scream 4_ bad killer motivation. None of the killers had good motivations after _Scream 2._ But _Scream 3_ is superior. Sorry.

Editing out Jill’s iconic victim staging was…well…a choice for sure🥴
Well we've all seen it realistically

This is my favorite out of all the scream movies and Jill is my second favorite ghostface. My #1 ghostface is someone from scream 5

the girl who died in the parking lot was a message, thats why the killer pushed her body from the building to the car next to the police officers

Not gonna watch 7? (To be fair I have no idea what the news there is, I’ve been avoiding everything scream related til I’m all caught up)

Killing Rebecca isolates Sidney even more. Making her easier to get to.
