Thank you for posting this video! I've been searching all over the internet and you answered all my questions and concerns in 5:27 minutes. Now I've just got to wait for the snow to melt so I can open it! Thank you again :)
I had all the grass removed from around my pool and replaced it with sand, then placed concrete pavers for folks to walk on. It works great, the only issue is the weeds, we place the black plastic before laying the sand and it has actually been down for 2 years now. We have to spray weed killer and pull weeds each season now before use. Do you have any other suggestions for the ground? I though about having concrete poured but that can get expensive considering the area I would have to cover.
You never want to put white stone at the base of your above ground pool. White stone has calcium in it, the white greasy film on the inside of the plastic bag. That white stuff is calcium, and calcium eats away at the metal ring and the aluminum sidewalls down at the base of your pool. It will weaken the base with little holes until the pool wall fails. If you want the white stone look, use marble chips in bags at the big box stores. They are safe to use and do not contain calcium. There is more to consider than doing what ever you want!
We're having a pool installed in a couple of week's so I appreciate what YOU just said! I don't want to do the wrong thing around the perimeter after spending all of this money just to slowly ruin it! Thank you!
Question? Hi Chad, I have quite a bit of sand left over from the installation and the pool is currently surrounded with landscape stones. I'm wondering if I were to mix the left over sand in with the landscape stone, will it create a problem with people getting the sand on their feet and tracking it into the pool?
If there's sand mixed in with the stone and your walk on it with wet feet there's a good chance it will end up getting in the pool and you'll have to vacuum it out.
Sure use the excess Sand to fill in the spaces of rocky area…just put a small foot rinse pan at level of pool entrance..you can place multiple ones and make them look like part of the pool ..just stone finish with concrete. You could also put concrete thin layer round entrance of pool then place layer of sand on wet cement ..that way sand stays on ground.
What can I put around an Intex pool? I just have grass growing up against it and I'm always having to cut the grass by hand up against the pool.. I don't know what I can put up against the liner without ripping it
I can not find a video on how to lay down weed and grass blocker fabric around a above ground pool, it would be great if you could make a video on how to lay the fabric around curved obstacles. Is that something you can do?
@@Nguthrie1980 we cut the fabric in pieces, then overlapped them like a big camera shutter around the pool, so the fabric fit right up to the pool. And just cut to fit the ones that came in contact with the posts.
I cut an oak tree down and we are putting in a semi inground pool. The pool will be about 2' away from cut tree. Would I need to worry about any of the roots?
Here is our video on how to install the liner: abovegroundpros.com/videos/super-simple-overlap-liner-replacement-for-round-pools-part-2-2/ and here is the link to our liner page: www.abovegroundpros.com/index.php/store/above-ground-liners/liners. I hope this helps.
I just called this gravel company to order the River stones/ pea size stone for the weed barrier around my pool. They delivered my sand. So she tells me not to us the smaller pea stones they will shoot like a bullet if the weed wacker hits them. So she tells me to use white limestone. So that’s exactly what I did. I have it around our brand new pool. I just read that the white limestone will eat away at the pool! Do you know if that’s factual?
Should you put plastic or landscape fabric under pea gravel/stone around the pool? I'm getting so many drastically different answers it is stressing me out!!! Please help!
The idea is you don't want to be running your weed eater up against the wall of the pool or it will cut away the rust protection so if you put something down to stop grass from growing through it it would be a huge help
We have videos to walk you through a very detailed liner replacement or if you are in the Atlanta area, we would be happy to replace your liner for you. What exactly are you looking for?
NO PINE TREES!!!!!!!!!!! god the neighbors tree sucks ass i want to sneak over their fence and "ring" it. so sick and tired of having to get pine needles out of the filter element. skimmer socks only last so long and they impede water flow so much.
I love this guy. Very knowledgeable.

mulch holds moisture and will make your pool rust faster ...so no mulch

What if anything do you put between the mulch & the pool? Will it puncture the pool if you put the mulch right up against it??
Quick question. Can you put cement around the wall outside of the pool. Can that damage the wall of the pool. Not sure if it causes it to rust.
Please help! What if anything do you put between the pool and mulch? Will the mulch puncture the pool?
How much does it usually cost and is there any pools that don’t rust ??!!!
I need you to come out to Tallapoosa to level my yard for a 22ft intex. got in over my head with this one lol
How did that turn out for you? I know this is 3 years ago but I'm doing a 20ft and its been tough with drainage.
@@Johnnyoffthespot I ended up getting a buddy to bring a bobcat over and level it for me

Gum trees have those pods that fall into the pool and clog up your vacuum. All Leaves from trees end up in your pool.
Yeah and??? Only put up a pool in a desert? D'uh?

I would spray weed killer around it and put some marble rocks

With the tree being dead I don't think you should have an issue
Just the liner

Don't use plastic..it won't drain rain water properly.
How much backfill can a round AG pool handle?
+rootssixtysix as much as you like with slurry mix
Thanks
should I use sand or just use dirt when filling up ditch surrounding my pool ?
Dirt
@@abovegroundpros why not sand?
Sand will never pack and you run the risk of collapsing the pool if you ever have to drain it to replace your liner
@@abovegroundpros would brick sand work...not sure exact name of it.
You would have to ask how soft it is because I'm not familiar with bricks sand

Use knee highs in the skimmer instead of the "Pool Sock".. Cheaper...
