I grew up winter steelhead fishing in Michigan 40 years ago. Winter steelhead fishing is never easy.

All my local river were closed last night at midnight due to low numbers. Lol ... We have had more fish in out river then ever. The escapement report even says so! I'm kinda confused as to why the state thinks the numbers are down when it seems to the people.out on the water seeing the fish actually are seeing a substantial amount of fish in a river that normally has a very poor run.

I’m a lifetime addict and a resident of Northern California born and raised, please everyone we need to stand up and make a stand for our fishery’s. My home river has seen such a decline in steelhead the past 10 years it’s not even funny. We’ve ruined the habitat and that’s not gonna change. More people every year. We need to all join hatcherywildcoexist. These fish aren’t just a hobby or sport, I built my life around these fish, and at the rate we are going my son will never be able to build his life the same. From Nor-Cal to Canada every single person needs to stand up and make a stand.

Mario Brunetti it’s just practice man. Every time I go out fishing for a fish I don’t usually fish I learn something every time. Could be the smallest thing but u learn as u go. You get a feel at it if you know what I mean. But nothing the less keep trying and Goodluck Mario!

How do I keep my line from getting tangled on my rod when I setbthe hook? Its happened twice now.
I’m guessing there is too much slack in your line while floatfishing and you may not be following your bobber.

Our high water is so muddy that you can't even see 3 inches into the water. The flood messed up our whole steelhead fishing this year.
