Had them both. V35 was better in my opinion. Better display for streaming. Better battery (it's noticeable). Love the G7's boom box though. Amazing sound and so loud. Had to switch to Sprint so lost my V35. Both great phones. 👍
If your V35 was unlocked it should work on Sprint. My phone suddenly died on me and an unlocked V35 turned up in my searching as a potential good deal. Sprint's flex lease system is annoying to me (especially as a current Sprint user, all the deals are for new customers or lines) and an unlocked phone can be cheaper than their flex lease option.
@@Locochon1 from all the reviews I've seen it does not. That's why they were able to place the bigger battery in the v35. Still have my g7 but thinking of upgrading to the v40. Great phones.
The V35 is an awesome phone. Loving it so far. I've also had my G2 for almost 6 years now and it's served as a perfect temporary phone between replacements. It just wont die.
Its time for me to change my G6, so I will go with the v35. Reminds me of the first note 1. I love notes but I changed series and find lg since de G6. No problems, perfect phone but recently I dont know how the camera glass broke :( so time to change it
My camera glass also broke with me having no idea how. I looked it up on the internet and its said that the camera glass is mounted with a lot of tension on the glass back itself, making it very prone to break.. Probably not your fault it broke haha. Btw you can get the camera glass for very cheap (like €2,-) on aliexpress, so maybe check it out.
The V20 is truly a great device. Could not agree more. I too am waiting for the arrival of the V40. I guess the V35 is just a place holder and some sort of AT&T partnership...? Does anyone know if the V35 has an IR blaster, so it can be used as a remote control?
Bought the V35 after watching and reading many reviews. I'm really happy with it. I had the note 9 but couldn't get a good photo after sunset, bought a iPhone XS Max, awesome cameras. I wanted Android back so the V35 was a huge surprise. I like this over Samsung I'm surprised to say. But this phone has all Samsung has without the lag. Yes Samsung note 9 has lag after opening one for 3 months. LG you surprised me.
The V35 is way more appealing to me, but the only drawback is it's AT&T exclusive. However, I'm rocking the G6 right now and have no intention of upgrading in the near future. Can't wait to see what LG has in store next!
It's amazing I have the LG V35 ThinQ. It's the best phone I've ever owned and I've owned around 50 phones. The battery life is crazy and the pics it takes is insane. I'd recommend it.
I bought the V35 for my son for X-mas. He loves it. Plus it was the Prime Exclusive model for 529.00. That is a great deal. I compared it to my s9+ & there's not much of a difference. The low light shooter on the plus is better & the stereo speakers. They are pretty evenly matched. The 41% off prime deal is very good. I highly recommend the V35 at this price point! You will not be disappointed!
G7 ThinQ for me, I own a LG G5 at d mo, contract is near enough up, the LG V35 is near enough the same as the G5 & G6, so I will be getting G7, everything about it seems so much better than it's previous versions
People can say what they want about the notch (please note, it was NOT Apple who did it first), but it feels so much better than lost-screen-to-a-bar while actually in use. LG also did it the best - so far - and the G7 is really a sexy looking phone. In everyday use, it's a little faster than the V35, and the camera is better for sure. The V35 was a wasted, in between release that will only cost LG money before the V40 drops. I want to get behind LG, as they have some good stuff, but they are always lacking in key areas and simply don't market well enough to earn the advanced software support of other flagship companies.
Archibald Doogan Thank you for saying that. The G7 is incredibly sexy. I just stop and admire the looks of this thing sometimes. My roommate's got the s9 and it feels so weird having the black bar at the top. The notch isn't in the way of anything, it's given me a tad more screen and it feels like SO much more screen. I couldn't be happier with any other phone
Got the G7. It's my professional soundsystem's DAC... it's really that amazing. Apple went way back removing the analog jack. Everything is thin and veiled sounding with their dongle. That SABRE DAC in the G7.... oh my! :)
I've had a G3 for years and I was going to try something different, like a Samsung. But after using the UI on my wife's Note 8 I prefer LG's. It's just what I'm used to I guess. Will definitely check out the Note 9 and the V40 though.
Ok so now the big question: Which is one better? LG G7 or V35?? 🤔 ----------------- LG G7 Factory Unlocked (Amazon) geni.us/fVnxAn LG G7+ (Amazon) geni.us/LDqH46 LG V35 (Amazon Prime Exclusive) geni.us/zOKji

The G6 have a notch and a vertical camera and a notch which feels like LG copying apple like all others and that is exactly the opposite of what they were doing before ,,, its has that boombox speaker ,. But still the proud v35 for me
The DAC on the V35 is amazing! But you absolutely NEED good quality earbuds od headphones. Otherwise its actually a wasted feature. Lower end earbuds just wont resolve all the detail the V35's DAC is capable of.
I just got the LG G7 and I love it. It is fast and snappy. Wonderful camera and nice screen size. Battery is not so good. But I do carry a battery pack with me. no matter what phone I ever use even has a good battery life I always take your battery pack with me you know just in case
The V35 is available unlocked on Amazon as an Amazon Prime Exclusive phone. As a nice bonus, it can be purchased in payments if you're an Amazon Prime member.
Watching this from my unlocked LG V35 bought from Amazon during Prime Day. I'm upgrading from a 5s so take been a blast so far. I'm staunchly against notches so the V35 provides the best experience without any annoyance
I would probably choose the V35. It just looks nicer, bigger but not too big..if it is the same as the G7 process wise that is perfect. And the screen curve that the edge's and new Samsung S9 have just make it look newer and more classy.
Wife just bought the LG G7 ThinQ and she LOVES it. I'm switching from the Galaxy S7 Edge to the LG V35 this Oct when my 2 year contract is due for renewal - I place a premium on a bigger battery, OLED screen is nice, prefer to classic size (vs tall skinny phones), don't love the notch (even though you can hide on G7, don't love that its there). One small thing - wish the headphone jack was on bottom but something I can live with.. LG is super underrated imo...make great stuff now
I was willing to sacrifice having the OLED display and bigger battery for the G7. It's the perfect size IMO, not as wide as V35. I kinda like the notch so I have no problem with that.
J.Chan I'm using the g7 right now and the display is great! If it's really dark and you watch something on fullscreen you'll notice the lcd blacks but most of the time it's perfect. Colors are really great I'm doing alright with the battery but a little more would be nice.
Mow Skeeto That's good. I'm upgrading from a Galaxy S5 so I've gotten used to the gorgeous, vibrant colors of an AMOLED display. I did get to see and try out the G7 in a store first. The IPS LCD is still very good looking and I was satisfied enough with it. I'm just disappointed that I won't be able to use the G7 with any Google Daydream VR headset because those require AMOLED.
That V35 would be the PERFECT phone for me if it had stereo speakers. I played with the V30 (same size as the V35) at the Verizon store and damn, talk about the most perfectly sized screen, and very little bezels and no notch!
I am commenting on an unlocked V35 that I bought for $600 from Amazon. You can still buy it unlocked from them, so the review is incorrect. I upgraded from a 64GB Nexus 6 running stock 7.1.1. Took me a while to get over not having stock Android, and to reconfigure the setup to suit me, but all in all, I think this is the most underrated phone currently on the market. I chose it over a Oneplus 6 and Pixel 2. The former doesn't do wireless charging and has no IP certification. The latter is more expensive and has an older CPU, less RAM, and no microSD expansion. And I greatly prefer the AMOLED screen with no notch and extra RAM over the G7, so easy decision there when the price was so close.
I'm a Cricket customer, and I've been looking to upgrade my ancient Galaxy Grand Prime, mostly focusing on Samsung, OnePlus, and Pixel varieties. At $300 factory unlocked w/US warranty on Amazon the V35 is a very tempting option, almost a no-brainer. I don't know why this didn't pop up on my radar sooner.
Got the G7 thinQ and the battery is pretty bad for a guy like me who likes to watch youtube vids as per why im here. I have the battery charged to 100 and overnight its down to 90%... 10% lost overnight not even used or opened once. Its gotten so bad im either going to get a new phone or get a battery case for it which there is only the option of two the newdery or zero lemon both cost about $40 with the extra bump of 4700mAh. The only problem with the battery case is the front edges doesn't have two much protection and if you place your phone screen facing down the screen comes in contact with whatever surface you put it on which leads to the problem of the chance of dropping your phone with the screen making contact with any hard surface which will definitely break the screen as these new phones are made out of a glass case. Ive had one of these glass phones before it was this new trend in phones with the moto x pure edition which was a great phone and was definitely a flagship competitor at its time with only half the cost and overall great performance and battery life however all it took was one drop to shatter the screen to oblivion. All in all the moral of the story is do your research and after you think you got your mind made up do some more thats pointing out the flaws because my problem was that I wanted it to be the best and tried to avoid the flaws which means I had my mind made up before I even did the research and so now im just here watching vids of how great the g7 thinQ is to try to bury my folish naive minds mistakes. i want removable battery back...and think the G5 was great...just that the silly public was not ready yet. the modular concept is great. the G5 with the bang & olufsen audio module (Dac and amp) is still the very best audio in the phone market.
man lg g7 is probably my favorite phone this year, so many features, unique features and a good design, although i dont like notches too much, but the way lg makes is acceptable, and it can even be hidden. Plus, lg g7 in my country is like 550-600$ lol
Except the notch-hate is mostly an internet groupthink and not based on any usage. Also, the G7 beats the V35 in literally every objective real world test and synthetic benchmark. But yeah...stay pretend butthurt about a notch (which actually grants you more screen in user experience).
If you could try a phone with a notch for a day you'll love it. It feels like so much more screen rather that a black bar at the top. Using the S9 feels like using a 2016 flagship to me now
Ugh...I have a V35 now and love it. Best phone I've ever had. Problem is I am moving to a rural area that only has CDMA service...G7 seems to be my only alternative...really wish I could still use my V35 😞
Since the V35 is now available as an Amazon prime phone it will work on all carriers. The G7 might be easier on availability due to carrier contracts but if youre buying a phone outright the V35 is Definitely the better option. It's what the G7 should have been all along
The V series has one thing that really sets it apart in particular, it's the reason an informed customer, an audiophile, buys a V series phone, and it isn't even mentioned in this video at all.
I personally do not recommend using ATT unlocked for other GSM. I'm using V20 on Metro unlocked from ATT. There is no way to get rid of ATT bloat ware. Bits of nagging malfunctions with texting, nothing major, but, annoying. Oh, maybe ok with Cricket. Updates are...... uhhhh....what updates? V20 a friend of mine has already is Oreo. Mine, maybe in 2020??I would get pricey but fully factory unlocked version. Hoping to upgrade to V40 or G7 if I can find a good deal as LG prices go down quite quickly. I just enjoy LG! Thanks for a great comparo!!
No mention of video recording differences in 4k frame rate? G7 let's you shoot 60fps while the V35 is still doing 30fps for what I understand. Can you verify this?
Just got my LG V35 from Amazon. Absolutely adoring it! One quick question though: Is there any significant difference between the Prime Exclusive version and the normal one besides just the 'extra bloatware'?
I have the same version. As far as I can see with all my research, no. It's just got some of the extra Amazon software preloaded. I love the phone tho. I also have the V40 but I can't get over the notch. The boombox speaker is amazing tho on it. Wish that was on the V35. I know it's been a year..you may not even have the phone anymore.
I'm Hooked on My LG-G6. But Both Phones In the Video Just to good to choose from. If I could I would have both phones. To me LG is so Unrated. LG is way better then any iPhone or and Samsung. Overall LG is THE BEST WAY TO GO.
People sell these phones second hand for pennies on the dollar. I was always interested in the v series to see if the dac actually made my hd600s usable plugged into a phone and was pleasantly surprised. Obviously no where near my schiit jotunheim (it better not be lol) but there is a definite change in quality. And I got a v35 for $200. Can't beat that
Can you comment on how they do when recording video? I know 35 has a log format and I was wondering about the quality of the audio recorded by each. I know the V20 had amazing mics that were good enough to use for actual video. Any info on that aspect would be awesome, great review and comparison!
Well, by my experience LG v35 it's just great hardware at a high price, but if you are considering this phone because of the camera just DON'T. the camera quality made me miss my Xiaomi mi5s. I should have gone with the Xiaomi mi8
From what I am seeing the G7 is selling, at least in my neighborhood. I am a happy G6 owner and will probably get a G7. I wonder if the G8 will be stereo with no notch?

i want removable battery back...and think the G5 was great...just that the silly public was not ready yet. the modular concept is great. the G5 with the bang & olufsen audio module (Dac and amp) is still the very best audio in the phone market.
man lg g7 is probably my favorite phone this year, so many features, unique features and a good design, although i dont like notches too much, but the way lg makes is acceptable, and it can even be hidden. Plus, lg g7 in my country is like 550-600$ lol
If v30 has better front camera and lg g7 speaker, it would rank the top of 2017. I still love mt v30
No notch...no contest...V35.
Except the notch-hate is mostly an internet groupthink and not based on any usage. Also, the G7 beats the V35 in literally every objective real world test and synthetic benchmark.
But yeah...stay pretend butthurt about a notch (which actually grants you more screen in user experience).
Archibald Doogan no the notch is real and hideous...thank God it will disappear soon.
The notch is removable in the settings
Some of us tend to vote with our wallets. I will never buy a phone with a notch or one without an headphone jack. Never.
Archibald Doogan they're the Same phone basically lol..
So stop lying
I'm not an LG fan anymore but if I had to choose the V35 would be my choice. No ridiculous notch & OLED display!
The lg g7 is the best phone that i would buy.
You can get the V35 unlocked now at B&H maybe other places too
I would definitely get the LG V35, hate the notch.
Austin Longmore some guy told me you can hide the notch... so next reason
Can hide the notch with a settings option 👍🏻
Austin Longmore the notch is removable, that reason is so over used , both phones are great
If you could try a phone with a notch for a day you'll love it. It feels like so much more screen rather that a black bar at the top. Using the S9 feels like using a 2016 flagship to me now
The notch really is a disease, it also makes people sound retarded
Great and awesome video. Currently rocking the LG G7 but I have to correct on what you said on 0:43. It's Project Fi (Fyy not Fee).
Ugh...I have a V35 now and love it. Best phone I've ever had. Problem is I am moving to a rural area that only has CDMA service...G7 seems to be my only alternative...really wish I could still use my V35 😞
THANK YOU, I've been searching for an exact video like this
You're welcome! Glad I could help!
Both phones have the quad DAC. That's the confusing part of this deal, they used to have a lot more separation between the V and G series.
But only one speaker on the bottom, it's the only weak link I can see on this great phone.
Got the V35 other day..still debating whether to keep it..
I like my V10 still
the V35 ThinQ is available on amazon prime payment plan unlocked. Love the phone, sooooo good.
I got my v35 on Amazon looking good so far
I love my G7 thin Q LCD rocks my eyes dont strain
just loving my v30
Watching using my LG G7+ThinQ Dual Chip Hibrid 6gb ram and 128GB , perfect mobile
You can also buy V35 on Amazon unlocked as a Prime exclusive phone.
I got the V35. Great Phone.
Thanks for your review man
Do these phones have IR blaster?
No mention of video recording differences in 4k frame rate? G7 let's you shoot 60fps while the V35 is still doing 30fps for what I understand. Can you verify this?
I'll go with the v35 for the OLED display and also for not having the notch.
V40 once its out next month❤️
Yeah, but I wonder if it'll have something better than an 845... Maybe the new Snapdragon isn't ready for it
Just got my LG V35 from Amazon. Absolutely adoring it! One quick question though:
Is there any significant difference between the Prime Exclusive version and the normal one besides just the 'extra bloatware'?
I have the same version. As far as I can see with all my research, no. It's just got some of the extra Amazon software preloaded. I love the phone tho. I also have the V40 but I can't get over the notch. The boombox speaker is amazing tho on it. Wish that was on the V35.
I know it's been a year..you may not even have the phone anymore.
Watching on my g7.
How is it like
@@shamari.verified its good but they have a g8 thats been out u should get that instead
Thank you for this video, I was hoping I'd find a comparison between these two phones. I would go with the V35, I am not a fan of the infamous notch.
The G7 looks like it has more colour contrast
Can't beat that
where at ??
Watching this on my V10
Can you comment on how they do when recording video? I know 35 has a log format and I was wondering about the quality of the audio recorded by each. I know the V20 had amazing mics that were good enough to use for actual video. Any info on that aspect would be awesome, great review and comparison!
The V35 is not an AT&T exclusive. Amazon sells an unlocked version that works on Verizon and T-Mobile.
It originally launched as an ATT exclusive. Unfortunately I can’t edit the video after it’s uploaded 👍🏻
V35 is available on all carriers as a prime phone, or a unlocked phone from B&H
Well, by my experience LG v35 it's just great hardware at a high price, but if you are considering this phone because of the camera just DON'T. the camera quality made me miss my Xiaomi mi5s. I should have gone with the Xiaomi mi8
G7 obviously
V30/35 is much wider, there is also diffrence in Always n Display options and Camera options, oled screens have amazing AoD
Why did G7 get an update for camera improvement. But nothing for V35????
Because it's AT&T exclusively, maybe?
$150 and unlocked when you buy from Cricket
***But you have to port in ***
Is it g7 still recommended for 1 or 2 later ?
From what I am seeing the G7 is selling, at least in my neighborhood. I am a happy G6 owner and will probably get a G7. I wonder if the G8 will be stereo with no notch?
Matt Josephson stereo boombox would be amazing! Right now I'd rather stick with the notch as long as the alternative is a black bar up top
Isn't the G7's MLCD+ display supposed to make up for the difference in battery size though?
I’d get the V35, I don’t like the notch on the G7. Wish the V35 had the super bright mode like the G7 though.
Battery life is going to be better on the V35.
I really wish LG would have stuck an 8MP front cam on the V30.
Watching this on my G7 ThinQ :)
I'd take the V35 for that dark blue colour and the OLED screen with no notch.
It's Project Fi like Hi-Fi or Wifi not Fee
Really? I have only ever heard people say it like “fee” lol that’s weird. Good to know 👌🏻
Well for that matter both Hi-Fi and Wi-Fi are really "fee". Look it up. I'm not kidding. It's one of the most mispronounced words of recent times.
I thought the etymology stemmed from the Latin "fidelis" meaning faithful and pronounced "fy".
@@TechDaily is correct. Hi-Fi (High Fidelity) and Wifi (Wide Fidelity) thus the "Fee".
@@donald1156 Wi-Fi does not stand for wide fidelity. It doesn't stand for anything. It means something. And even if it did.. You don't pronounce it as "fee·del·it·y", but rather "fie·del·it·y".
So when are they getting 8.1 and 9.0? Thats the big question. And are they worth it with Pixel 3 just around the corner?
Ilya Elis most likely never mate. LG couldn't really care less about the software updates imo. Pixel 3 should be an easy choice for u. Or u could wait for the V40.
Samnun Chowdhury Google offered me a full refund for my 8 month old Pixel 2 and I can get V35 from them for $600 bucks, so basically exchange Pixel 2 for V35.
The V35 while new is still missing features that are on the V30 mainly the full camera suite.
Why the whether is different between two phones?
