It's really solid for those who of course have never used a flagship like me I haven't had any issues with the galaxy a54 since I got it and I have been using it for over 2 months at this point I can say I am satisfied with it as my main phone considering I came from using the a51 prior which comparing it to my a54 performance was extremely laggy but then again it is over 3 years old now though compared to the a53 they did improve performance quite a bit with the a54 I'm excited to see what they do with the a55 next year hopefully they improve performance even more
@rudfil honestly no really the only benefit you get is better performance over the a54 meanwhile the a54 is brighter has 120hz adaptive refresh rate bigger display of 6.4 inches better camera setup being triple instead of just one faster charging I believe aswell in other words the galaxy a54 is most likely the better option
Let's be honest, no normal phone user is going to open 10 apps at once and switch between them multiple times in short increments. This phone is amazing for its price. It delivers a good display and camera. You cannot compare these phones to flagship high end devices.
It just feels slower even when opening a single app or especially changing between multiple ones even when compared to a much cheaper phone which just feel snappier for some reason. It's clearly not a performance issue but a software or optimization issue, (maybe even the animations, I'm not sure). The brand value and 5-year software update really carried for this phone because there is some tough competition in the camera department as well.
That's not true. It's the opposite honestly. People who don't know much about phone performance will have apps open and don't clear them from their window. The average person will have all types of things open. A person who is more informed about performance will always clear their windows.
@@SorenCicchinimost people want a flagship phone for kudos when infact they havent got a clue how it fully works, and if you asked somebody why its their flagship phones better they couldnt give you an answer. Emperors new clothing thing isnt it 😏
@@Isaac-gh5ku yeah. Firstly Exynos 1380 is more powerfull then Snapdragon 7 gen 1 or Snapdragon 778G, but people don’t like to see that and secondely Snapdragon 7 gen 1 has really bad overheating issue and poor battery life. Just look at Xiaomi 13 Lite for example who has it too. And I am scared of the new Honor 90, cause that phone looks really amazing but it has 7 gen 1.
I bought the A54 three months ago after watching many of your reviews and a few others, and I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised by how good the cameras are, and the battery life is fantastic - I get 7 hours of screen on time most often. I'm fully satisfied with it... amazing value for the money.

I know why Samsung made them so close in features. I live in Korea. The a54 is actually called the Quantum 4 here. It comes with a special Quantum Encryption chip for banking and security, plus 8gb ram. The chip is not included on overseas models.
I'm a S23 Ultra user... Trust me, nobody needs a $1k plus phone... nobody. This phone is more than enough. The only reason I've been upgrading to the latest flagship is because of the trade in offers.. but if I had to buy a phone from scratch, the A series is more than enough.
I agree ,i do understand though profesional UA-camrs, gamers and fashion influencers needing a flagship the rest of us mere mortals we are fine with mid range phones
@@DENVEROUTDOORMANGuess I’m No One..As someone on SSI, I can barely afford ‘a cheapie’ but desperately need one because my second-hand Note 9 is constantly failing to make and receive calls, which is literally the whole point of having a phone in the first place. In South Africa people, your friends or family, work colleagues.... Nobody cares or judges what cellphone a person has. Its quite interesting to read comments and watch videos, where this seems to be a big deal overseas
In America everything is backwards from what it should be. We've forgotten God, and only care about ourselves. It used to be a slightly better place, but corruption throughout time has always existed and now it's so prevalent they're smug about it. They don't care that you know they're out for nothing but money, and don't care who gets in their way. Very sad, but our Lord will be back very soon. Every knee will bow, whether you believe or not. Take care and don't forget Jesus. He is the only way.
Same here in Europe, nobody cares or even knows which phone is which in the first place. When I bought the S23 Ultra it took my friends several weeks before they noticed I had a new phone at all (I upgraded from the ancient Galaxy A7), one person asked me if it was an iPhone. It only seems to be a thing in the US, similar to other nonsense like having the biggest car or being tall.
It hasn’t been a big deal in UK since the iPhone first came out. Now you can’t even tell which iPhone is which without counting the number of lenses on the back 😂 I can never remember what model Samsung I have as way too many.
I am using the 8/256 GB variant of this device for 2 months. I can tell, if someone is not into gaming, you get the best device out there. People may name other devices but, remember that thing, 4 years of android upgrade and, you get hell lot of customisation freedom with good lock.
Hi i have the same phone. Can u guide me whats the best good lock mods and does it drain a lot of battery? My favorite is the one where u can customize the back swipes!
@@sahal9385 I use theme park, keys cafe (only if you use samsung keyboard. Won't work with any other keyboard), navstar (this is good if you use gesture navigation as you can change the colour of the navigation bottom bar), home up and quick star. Also, nice shot, the one you talked about (one hand operation +), registar and sound assistant. And no, they don't drain a lot of battery. I find the rest gimmicky personally.
Samsung knows what they are doing. If they make the A54 too good (like using a SnapDragon 7 Series chip) there will be little to no reason for most people to buy their more expensive phones. They have to leave at least one drawback to entice people to move up the tiers
I gotta say here, i just had an iphone 12 for 2 years & finally broke it good few months ago, low on money so had to go budget replace it this time so my best choices came down to either a galaxy a54 or an iphone SE 3rd gen.. which the whole phone is literally the same as an iphone 6/7/8 with those small 720p lcd screens and compare to the a54 there was no way i could settle for that SE lol so got the a54 and was definitely expecting alot of downgrade from my iphone 12... but honestly, it's been even better in some specs and i'm still really impressed and happy with it. My plan was to deal with this a54 and immediately save and get something better asap, but honestly now im considering not even doing that in fact probably just gonna rock this a54 for a couple years.👌 it really is that good and impressive of a phone, and i use the phone alott too
@bojidar4o Almost never really, you have to really hella push it just for it to feel even slightly more than a lil warm. Like for me those few times have been running a game/games at all the highest quality settings full brightness etc for over a couple hrs or so, but during those few times screen was under direct sunlight and all honesty I'm pretty sure could've kept going even longer without it heating up if wasn't under sunlight lol because regardless, this new Exynos is just excellent with cooling in what seems every/any experience or has for me this last year with it so far. I guess that under direct warm season sunlight & pushing the a54 to the all max like that is the only time when you can really see the 'budget' difference compared to like the s23 FE Exynos, and of course the new s24 Exynos.
i buy mine and didnt come with bloatware, but i buy it online, and the international model, maybe because of that, national models usually comes with a lot of bloatware
Nice job. My wife and I are upgrading from our A12 models, which are 18 mo's old. Samsung has a solid customer with us, you gave a unobjective review, thank you. Joe
I totally agree with you on the a54. It truly is the best "jack of all trades " kinda phone. I don't think you can go wrong with this unit unless you're looking for specific features . But this phone can get you by on a level that I don't see how anyone couldn't get by with this as a daily driver.
This Phone is líke the iPhone SE but they gave us a better screen size. Im not a high core user so im fine with a mid range Phone. I was indecisive between the A54 and iPhone 12 and went For the A54 becuse of the software upgrades.
After getting updates, the A53 got adaptive refresh rate, but it doesn't say it does, and the battery life has improved. I'm getting 5-6 hours of screen on time while charging only to 85%. I'm considering getting the S23 on black Friday.
I just brought this phone to replace the Google pixel 4a. The one thing that I miss is the camera, I always preferred the pixel's photos. I had to switch over to Samsung because I can hold 1 TB of storage and it didn't hurt my wallet.

I had the A51.. still very good but gave it to my mother and got the A54 for me last april. The A54 it's a good phone for most things, i like it, specially it's speakers that are very very good, allmost as loud as my husband's Iphone13 speakers. But there is something that i dont like at all... it's very heavy, my A51 was so much lighter 😢.
Omg, that is why I didn't get the A54. I am using A51 and it's so light and slim, you can hold it in one hand. But A54 is thick and way heavier than A51. Not to mention when you use a case, it makes it bulkier. Samsung will probably never make a mid-range that is as light and slim in size as the A50/A51 again sigh
@@lenaxshin 100% agreed. I still like my A54 despite the weight annoying me... is now making 1 year of use is still like brand new and fast. I do notice is not a flaship in the cameras and shutter speed. The A51 still works fine as well :) Maybe one day will get an S series model but for now this one will do just fine for some years.
Samsung always seems to optimize the Exynos after release. Their chip smooths out and improves a great deal a few months after launch. On launch day, however, they are often crappy.
Really love my A54. I had the A53 and was super disappointed with it. The camera shutter lag on that phone drove me up the walls. Even taking screenshots were lagging. The A54 is like a 100 times better than the A53. Everything feels smooth, and snappy. I have had zero lags or stutters since getting this device in April. The camera is awesome, the screen is awesome and I love the new haptics!
I saw a battery test that was done 4 months ago across the A54 and all S23 models. The test was actually very realistic to real life usage and was fun. The S23 lost to the A54 by only 5 seconds since it lasted 12 hours and 38 minutes/17 seconds. I was shocked but this just shows the optimization the Snapdragon chips have and this year, the 8 Gen 2 is an absolute beast which has bought so many people to the S23's this year. The S23 has a 3900 MAH battery then the A54 with it's 5100, and the S23 nearly had it beat. The Ultra on the other hand lasted for a little over an hour longer with the Plus staying strong for close to 1.5 hours after the A54/S23 turned off. I'm getting the S23 Plus next week and was considering the A54 but after your review, I'm someone who needs more in spite of my using a midrange right now. Thanks once again for the excellent content Wade 👌
@koreyb It really is. The SD 8 Gen 2 chip has SAVED Android devices that utilize it. Samsung, especially since many people this year, can confidently say they've had all-around excellent performance if they have a Galaxy S23 model. I'll be one to say this as well once my hands are on the S23 Plus
@@Moyaiville_Productions , it may be because the recent changes of the UA-cam's UI which is extremely inconvenient and makes it difficult to copy even the subjects of the videos.
Gr8 review, but exactly how much time does one save using the Exynos powered A54 vs S class or other brands? Unless you're some crazy power user, especially like some geeky gamer who's constantly playing games while also being on social media or if you're into taking telephoto pics, I don't think normal people would even bother about the A54 being a bit underperforming at fancy games or a second or less slower & it having a normal cam set up. Add to that the fact this phone is cheaper while still being able to do just about everything pretty well, will give it good sales. Those who's lives are on their phones can go buy the flagships..
The a54 has a better fingerprint sensor, battery life and speakers than the s23. I bought a used s23 and thought I liked the smaller size but ended up selling it and getting an a54 which I like way better. The a54 feels more like an iPhone than the s23 and it is a lot easier to hold and live with. The only thing I liked better about the s23 was the higher quality camera.
the exynos chips as i said are not well optimized for the a54, but the mediatek chip is, plus its in the cheaper phone. Other reviewers complain about lag on the a54.@@bigslime3498
For less than 400 dollars it is a good option. It all depends on what is valued more. If you are a lazy professional photographer who doesn't want to carry his camera and you spend your free time opening many apps at once, switching between them quickly... and you get angry if an app opens a few tenths of a second slower than you expected. or that the most demanding games do not work perfectly. Well, pay triple for another phone XD. for everything else... this one will work for you.
I just bought an unlocked s20 from Ebay that was kept as a backup phone for $165 USD including shipping, a case and charging cable as I wanted a phone somewhat similar to my very old samsung s6 in terms of weight and resolution/ppi density but with solid performance. As someone who aggressively debloats their phone, I don't have fomo about any future features I may miss out on. The s20 makes for a great emulation device that can already play Switch games at 60 fps, for which the sd card support comes in mighty handy.
After my S21+ was stolen, I didn't want to spend more than $500 for a new phone. Yes, the speed is an issue, only when you first unlock the phone. For whatever reason it takes about 3 to 5 seconds for it to catch up. Other than that, I'm not missing the wireless charging much. It has most of the features I need. Waterproof, fast charging, decent camera (the night mode is not as good as the S21+ but I'm sure software updates will correct that), very nice screen, 120hz refresh rate. Basically everything I need for less than half the price. I got it on sale for $350 usd. I am very pleased with it and has convinced me to never buy a flagship again unless there is a ridiculous price sale on them. I do hope they fix the speed issue upon unlocking the device. Other than that, no complaints.
I have an A52 and it's one of my fav phones ever. I wish it had a zoom camera, otherwise, really great phone. However in terms of pictures you can literally see when Samsung applies their processing after its been taken. I suppose there would be no way around that really.
The A52 5g was probably my favorite phone ever, but it went out on me a couple months ago which was heartbreaking. I believe it was b/c I got an unlocked at&t version & these phone companies have the ability to mess ur phone up intentionally through software updates. I usually get the straight talk version & all of my phones I got from straight talk still work, I just wanted to upgrade. Matterfact when My a52 went out, I reactivated my a20 & used it until I got my new a54 5g from straight talk earlier this month. I got it on sale around black Friday for $140
I got mine yesterday. I love it. It's perfect for me. I'm far from a power user. It's in my pocket 90% of the time. I don't game or book face, and it has SD expansion, which sold me. I'm teaching myself to color grade and edit video. It's been great.
Yep. This kind if Galaxy A is good, for average consumer. I have always bought it for my mom and she doesn't want others smartphones. Galaxy A5x always delivers enough.
@@leeallenbeal Yes I've just bought one. Better face ID, more compact and better camera lens and pin hole selfie camera makes it look like an S line. It's the only A device with a pin hole front facing lens and not a teardrop. Although the 2mp macro lens is pointless.
2 weeks ago I've come from a Galaxy Note 9 to the A54 5g. I can no longer afford to pay like £850 for a phone. The Note 9 is a fantastic device but I've had it 5 years now and as it no longer gets updates I understand security will eventually be compromised. I must say I'm in no way dissapointed with the A54. It's quick enough for my needs. I have the 8 gig RAM version 256 gig storage. The only difference I find from the Note 9 is that the Note 9 has a higher screen resolution of 526 ppi as opposed to 403 on the A54. However 403 ppi is perfectly fine to enjoy video. The A54 also benefits from being a 5g device so all in all a very good experience. Oh one last thing the battery life on the A54 is fantastic. I regularly get 7 hours of screen time with about 40% battery left. A true all day device. All this from a mid range device. I was considering a Google Pixel 7a but the battery life of the A54 and the fact it had a micro sd slot swung it for me. The processor is plenty fine enough for me things happen just as quick as on the Note 9. The likelihood is people who get the A54 are not likely to be heavy gamers. Gamers more likely to go for a phone geared up for that.
@arkjinx764 I live in the UK and got mine from an online company called 'Dealmonday'. From reading the reviews they are a grey market seller and procure phones from all over the world to sell on to their customers for about 2/3 the regular price. The only downside is it can take a couple of weeks for them to deliver your phone but worth it for the savings.

I have an S6 Active that I am finally going to retire. I have held onto it for so long becuase I do not want to give up my "Notification Lights" that blink when a call or text comes in. This may sound trivial, yet it is one of the best options that I appreciate so much. I do not have to open up my phone to see that I have a text, and I can keep it on silent and still know when I get a text or call. Does anyone know if there is an app that can be downloaded to achieve the same effect as the physical notification light on the older Samsung phones?? I do not know why Samsung did away with the lights, but IMO it was a poor decision for a tool that so many Samsung users have so long appreciated.
Dude yes the blue LED but I also had an app that I could change the light color for different contacts. This was on a slide out samsung android around s4 gen time. Slide out keyboard was amazing too
Hey guys I travel like 300miles where I live and A54 is socks when you leave the city. If you have one bar of antenna GPS stops working and I got lost ones. The antenna is weak on this phone, but everything else is good. It's like having a luxury car with 3 cylinders, enybody drove a 3 cylinder will understand. And what is the point of luxury phone if you have weak signal, something to think about. I will return this phone and get one with a strong signal phone.
Hey! If you're planning to buy it, then do it! It has some bugs and little lags caused by bugs, but is mostly just system optimization. The same thing happened with the A53 in the early months from its release, but now it's great! So same for the A54, you just gotta wait a little bit
My second-hand S5 died last year (I guess dropping it too many times on a stone floor didn't help) and I have carried on using my A5 with 3 GB of RAM and 32GB of memory, Android 8.0, a single 16MP camera, 1080p@30fps video (night time filming of photography are on par with modern doorbell cameras)... By comparison, I think I could live with this phone, even though I cannot use wired headphones and charge the phone at the same time.
It's a sharp-looking phone. I love that color! 1000 nits is plenty bright. I'd slap a matte screen protector on that and then you're all set. Google fi has this on sale for $249 (and still has the pixel 6a on sale fur $199).
The a34 might be the better buy, it has a better processor that doesn't heat up like the one in the a54, it has a bigger screen, and a significantly lower price. I bought the a54 and kind of ended up regretting it, maybe I should've gone with the a34 instead.
Wade, admit that you really just wanted to play with action figures but someone found out and you wanted to cancel and get a refund! Anyway, I now own an A54, partially on your suggestion. I'm very happy with it. I don't think the processor is slow. I don't really play games on my phone, though. I am curious, you told me you are a Pixel guy over a Samsung guy, but you also suggested the A54 over the Pixel 6A, when I was deciding between the A54/Pixel 6A/Moto G Stylus 5G 2023 on Prime day last month. Why? And do you remember my comment that I'm talking about?
Honestly, compared to the usual random junk I buy, snagging an Iron Man action figure wouldn’t have been out of the ordinary 😅 I prefer the Pixel 6a because I like Google’s Android experience and I personally value the camera setup more than people. I think Samsung’s A series cameras still fall a bit short unfortunately.
I think the New A54 is a bit of a step up over the A53 but not by much,Samsung could have offere more and added the Snap dragon Gen 1 instead Exynos 1380 chipset
my mind says A54 but my heart says S23, I have doubts for the A54 in the long run as it already has stuttering and lags, what if 2 or 3 years from now, I will save for now and continue using my Iphone 11 till Holiday season and buy S23
Sad that the Exynos used to powered this device is somewhat st SD 855 level..and to keep it for next 4 years maybe somewhat challenging..unless you're really using it for texting and media..
I've had mine for about a month now and it's been nice. Not the most powerful but it gets the job done. Has a processor powerful enough for most tasks and gaming (COD Mobile goes to medium settings with HD, or high settings without HD) and Genshin about medium to low. Diablo Immortal can handle 60 fps on this but on low, or you can have it to high with 30 fps and medium effects. That and the camera is surprisingly good. Gotten plenty of nice pics and the videos come out nice. Not going to compete with a pixel but I'm still impressed to find a middle ground at this price. What I'm surprised about is the battery not being as bad as I thought. Even with high usage using a lot of Google Maps and Pokémon Go sessions I can finish a day with around 20% or so. And the biggest plus is the SD card slot, I am so happy that this uses one. Had a couple of pixel phones and only having 128 GB of storage doesn't cut it anymore. If you can get one with a good carrier deal or get one on sale (Got the unlocked model for $350) definitely go for it. Just don't expect performance that of an S23.
I do have a couple complaints but it's about the build. Cannot stand glass phones and having a glass back is a downside to me. Makes getting a case almost mandatory. Next is about cases themselves and that being the fault of Samsung with how the cameras protrude out. Otterbox was lazy with their cases this year and left a good portion of the camera area unprotected as well as others. That and the cameras stick out quite a bit, makes the phone look like a Lego piece.
@@jacobyjecoby1104 It's not as bad as past Pixel devices, but mine rarely got hot even when playing Pokémon Go outside in August. It would be warm but I also didn't have 5G or the 120hz turned on.
hello everyone! i am reading comments of people being pretty much satisfied with their samsung a54 phone, though i am also seeing people being disappointed in it claiming it to be slow when opening more apps at once. i would like to buy this phone for my mum, as a gift, since she’s been complaining about her old phone being too slow. being an adult who’s not very good with technology, she tends to leave a lot of apps open at the same time, but also she doesn’t need a lot, no games, no heavy apps what do you think? could this be a good option for my gift to her?
I am currently watching this on my unlocked A54 in a hospital bed. I also have a Pixel 7A as my daily driver. I know the A54 is not a flagship. However it works well enough for me. When my wife asked what device I wanted while in hospital it was a no brainer the bigger screen and superior battery life as well as the faster charging is what I need, not better pictures or AI.
Like but it doesn't have a jack to charge and doesn't have a phone jack. Otherwise its good for the price. I for one will not buy it because of it. Colors are nice.
Screen size a little too big. What happened to making phones smaller amd better. Not bigger. My first cell phone was the giant brick that you had to plug into your cars cigarette lighter. Then they started making them smaller and portable. Now they are back to making them bigger. What purpose does that serve.
The big problem for me is that the screen has blue-ish hues when you tilt it. So annoying. You can notice more on apps with white backgrounds. I think I can see the blueish effect on your phone too, but its hard to tell for sure. Were you seeing that when you reviewed this model?
I have the same effect. A tilt of 10 degrees is enough to make an image cooler. Did you find anything about the problem? Or is this not a problem, but such is the quality of the display? This was also present at A53, but not significantly
If the A5X series costs 500$ it should have the same camera of the S23FE or the same processor/worse camera, you can't cut everywhere and maintain a upper pricing for the equivalent of a 160$ Xiaomi just because of the 5 years of software upgrades.
When I purchased my A54 in May 2023 I was also using a Pixel 6a. I since have moved on to the Pixel 7a and now the 8a as my daily drivers. I still have my trusty A54 as my secondary phone. The only thing I miss on it is the lack of wireless charging. I feel I am not missing out on anything else other than Pixel specific features. Sure it "hiccups" sometimes when I pick it up to use after awhile but it straightens out quickly. I am on Android 14 and get monthly security updates, just like the Pixel. It is larger and heavier thany Pixel 8a but when it is time for watching videos the A54 is what I pick up due to the larger screen. I thought about replacing it with the A35 but losing the HDR10 was a deal breaker and everything else is essentially the same. The A55 is missing some of the T-Mobile US bands so that is a deal breaker. I'll keep it for as long as it works for me.
Exactly. For everthing you gain and the fact it can be found at less than 300 bucks excellent refurbished, it is worth to sacrifice the 2 years updates.
@@seanmcdermott5980 The S22 likely has a better chipset than the a54, as well as having the full-set of samsung features. Honestly, it's just a way better phone overall, it's not even a competition.
Thanks for posting this. Would you please answer a technical question about this phone? I've had this A54 for about 3 months now and I just noticed that the Message+ Image Search icon no longer appears in the "Attach Media" option when I select (+) to add an image (i.e. - GIF, Video, MEMEs) from online. The only options now are "Glympse", "Places" , "Replies", and a couple of others. How do you retrieve that blue-colored Search button that was originally in there?
I activated my A54 5g one month ago and so far no MMS. I've done trouble shooting for hours to no avail with both Samsung and Selectel, my carrier. Other than this, I love it.

I bought a budget A21 a year or so ago as a hold me over while waiting for the 14 pro max to come out. 220 bucks at Best Buy. My old 7 plus was finally done. I was so amazed at how well it did. Had everything I needed and more. I also wanted to take a peak across the fence at Android. I wanted to jump the fence after a couple weeks but everyone around me used Apple. So I got my 14 pro max and said. Apple. Your on probation with me. One flaw and your out. Lol.
I just bought it, I'm coming from a galaxy s10 plus. So flagship but old to midrange but new. I've had midrange before the s10 plus was fantastic as it was my first flagship. I prefer the flat screen over curved. The 5000mah battery life is great more galaxys like the plus models (s22plus s23 plus) should have 5000mah. I can tell though it is slowed down because of the exynos the s10 plus even old certain things were quicker and snappier But it's been a day with the a54 so we'll see. My s10 plus was slowing down and with it being 4g still it wasn't great loading stuff without wifi. So I'm still happy here.
I'm currently using s10+ too and plan to switch to new phone: either this samsung A54 or honor magic5.. getting old now and not much gaming as im used to.. anyway, how's your experience with this phone? Is it good to switch to this phone or not..
I'm still using a S10 plus also I love it but I do have the opportunity to buy a reclaimed S20 plus and since it's the last S series with expandable storage and a headphone jack I may do but it will probably be my last S series phone
ive been watching alot of reviews about this phone .. do you guys recommend it ? currently using iphone XR 64Gb .. or should i wait one more year until apple drop the XR ?
Just keep the Xr..also using it..and boi Xr still got plenty of power compared to this one..yeah some hardware maybe outdated but it still performed smooth..next year i heard that Apple would launch their new "budger" iPhone the new generation of SE series..better going that if you want to upgrade from Xr..
You can get it online for 300 to 350 dollars now just make sure your Carrier is friendly to import phones if you want to get an international version with the better RAM and Storage. At 300 it's worth it.
I really don't understand what you or anyone else is talking about when you say that it has lagging issues. I really think it has something to do with who your carrier is. Because i have T-Mobile and i have owned this device since it came out, and i had to upgrade from my A-53 because it got ran over lol.... But exactly what you said. If you're not a professional photographer there's absolutely no reason to ever go out and spend over a 1,000 ever again.
The Exynos chipset is the only bad thing about this phone. Before I had a flagship phone, I had the opportunity to buy the A53 5G, but I skipped over it for the very same reason and bought the A23 5G (the A33 5G also has the Exynos 1280)
Do you happen to have any suggestions from your product links? The Samsung A34 are all thru 3rd party sellers and not from Amazon directly. I just want a reliable vendor. Please let me know 😊❤
I just got one. Everything is great but compared with the A53 there's quite a bluish shimmer that appears even a little bit off-angle. No reviews except DXOMARK mentions this... The display is a definite downgrade...
Depending on the market, but tbh I'd rather get an older flagship or the a52s. Flagships like the s10+ cost about half the price but you're getting a telephoto camera, aluminum frame, headphone jack and identical performance. Although you're missing out on the telephoto with the a52s, and the construction is plastic, the price is what makes it worth it
I have the S10+ and I just replaced it for the A54. You are not gettiny any security updates anymore, so i think that is a must if you have banking apps / investment apps on the phone.
i have a samsung s10e (yes, a s10e). it still works fine, but i feel that i will need to change it soon. i've been a fan of the s series forever, but i don't want to spend too much. i was thinking about the a54 is it a good idea? will i feel a "downgrade"?

The 2 year old Galaxy A52s performs better than this (Snapdragon 778G).

Do you think a new IPhone SE is better buy than this A54 ?
A person who is more informed about performance will always clear their windows.
my mom would and she wouldn't even notice it XD
Of course you can compare them; you just shouldn't expect midrange phones to outperform flagship phones.

Wish that Samsung should have gone for either the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 or 7 Gen 2 for their A54. The newer Snapdragon 7x series feels so underrated now.

I just wanted to know if it has NFC and is supported by the libre 3 sensor for my diabetes, so don't over think everything.
In South Africa, they will steal our phones whether it's a 2008 Nokia or if it's a iPhone 15 Pro Max. 😂😂

Could you please give an update on its performance now? Thanks 😊
My plan was to deal with this a54 and immediately save and get something better asap, but honestly now im considering not even doing that in fact probably just gonna rock this a54 for a couple years.👌 it really is that good and impressive of a phone, and i use the phone alott too
Does it overheat?

Unless you're some crazy power user, especially like some geeky gamer who's constantly playing games while also being on social media or if you're into taking telephoto pics, I don't think normal people would even bother about the A54 being a bit underperforming at fancy games or a second or less slower & it having a normal cam set up. The a54 has a better fingerprint sensor, battery life and speakers than the s23. I bought a used s23 and thought I liked the smaller size but ended up selling it and getting an a54 which I like way better.

I am very pleased with it and has convinced me to never buy a flagship again unless there is a ridiculous price sale on them. I do hope they fix the speed issue upon unlocking the device.

3:43, the frame is actually made of plastic.
I have a s7 active. Some apps have upgraded and no longer work. Thinking it may be time to upgrade. Looking at the a54.
139 on straight talk. Cricket is 49$but with number change. That's holy shit status to me😂
Nah it ain't bright in direct sunlight you can hardly see anything on the screen.
I'm upgrading from my Samsung Galaxy A21 to this one, just ordered it today and can't wait to use it!
I have a54 5g and I love it I don't need 1000 phone. A54 has plenty almost flagship
Honestly, compared to the usual random junk I buy, snagging an Iron Man action figure wouldn’t have been out of the ordinary 😅
I prefer the Pixel 6a because I like Google’s Android experience and I personally value the camera setup more than people. I think Samsung’s A series cameras still fall a bit short unfortunately.
I think the New A54 is a bit of a step up over the A53 but not by much,Samsung could have offere more and added the Snap
dragon Gen 1 instead Exynos 1380 chipset
@@TechDaily I'm confused. Why did you suggest to me the A54 over the 6A on Prime day then?
my mind says A54 but my heart says S23, I have doubts for the A54 in the long run as it already has stuttering and lags, what if 2 or 3 years from now, I will save for now and continue using my Iphone 11 till Holiday season and buy S23
And then theres me deciding between an A54 or an iphone 11 lol
Is overheat problem gone?
@@jacobyjecoby1104
It's not as bad as past Pixel devices, but mine rarely got hot even when playing Pokémon Go outside in August. It would be warm but I also didn't have 5G or the 120hz turned on.
If you were me which u would go for A34 or A54?
@@jacobyjecoby1104
A54. Has more storage, ram, water resistance and a longer update cycle. Definitely the better device.
hello everyone! i am reading comments of people being pretty much satisfied with their samsung a54 phone, though i am also seeing people being disappointed in it claiming it to be slow when opening more apps at once.
i would like to buy this phone for my mum, as a gift, since she’s been complaining about her old phone being too slow. being an adult who’s not very good with technology, she tends to leave a lot of apps open at the same time, but also she doesn’t need a lot, no games, no heavy apps
what do you think? could this be a good option for my gift to her?
Yes I have A54 5g and I don't have any lags at all
I am currently watching this on my unlocked A54 in a hospital bed. I also have a Pixel 7A as my daily driver. I know the A54 is not a flagship. However it works well enough for me. When my wife asked what device I wanted while in hospital it was a no brainer the bigger screen and superior battery life as well as the faster charging is what I need, not better pictures or AI.
Get well soon!🙏😊
Sir, From where did you download the Homescreen Wallpaper
It looks nice and awesome With a Green Color and that too with great Combination
Like but it doesn't have a jack to charge and doesn't have a phone jack. Otherwise its good for the price. I for one will not buy it because of it. Colors are nice.
hope the rumour about M44 with similar specs and SD888 processor is true ... just a perfect midranger in 2023
I love everything about this phone except the screen size
Screen size a little too big. What happened to making phones smaller amd better. Not bigger. My first cell phone was the giant brick that you had to plug into your cars cigarette lighter. Then they started making them smaller and portable. Now they are back to making them bigger. What purpose does that serve.
The problem with Samsung is always performance. My S20 flagship is lagging terribly on camera, something i cannot even take a picture with it.
The big problem for me is that the screen has blue-ish hues when you tilt it. So annoying. You can notice more on apps with white backgrounds. I think I can see the blueish effect on your phone too, but its hard to tell for sure. Were you seeing that when you reviewed this model?
U can change the color for your liking. Warm to cool and something else to mess with. Jus look around
I have the same effect. A tilt of 10 degrees is enough to make an image cooler.
Did you find anything about the problem? Or is this not a problem, but such is the quality of the display?
This was also present at A53, but not significantly
I have 8/128gb version since april and it's awesome phone
@Mini_Samir No
Ive had no problems with my galaxy A54 mobile great phone
Get this phone. It will be absolutely fine and do what you need. Don't worry about speed, it will become slower and slower like all phones.
A54 looks and feels nice but maybe going for the older S21 would be more bang for the buck
Exactly. For everthing you gain and the fact it can be found at less than 300 bucks excellent refurbished, it is worth to sacrifice the 2 years updates.
So if i had to chose between the a54 and the s22 , you would say to go for the s22? even with the battery difference?
@@seanmcdermott5980 Yes, absolutely
@@seanmcdermott5980
The S22 likely has a better chipset than the a54, as well as having the full-set of samsung features. Honestly, it's just a way better phone overall, it's not even a competition.
@@seanmcdermott5980it's actually better to go for s21 fe than s22, specs are not that different for an average usage, yet s21 fe is much cheaper
Where did you download the home wallpaper??
Its awesome 🎉😅
The main question for me is does the A54 5G overheat a lot..
Other than this, I love it.
i have had s23 ect and this phone way better in lots of pros and the price never goes down on these but the s series prices always drop s that should tell you a few thing the s series are over prced ect
I really like the phone but have a question... can performance be improved through updates to optimise speed etc ?
A good phone for those who upgrade their phones in less than 2 years , but I still keep my phone for atleast 3.5 years , so not a good deal for me
I have a question can I place in an SD card in the phone like Samsung galaxy 20fe 5g
Lol.
I’m wondering why it has no headphone jack, I use the headphones in my other Samsung phone a lot, so im unable to purchase this phone due to this
I just bought it, I'm coming from a galaxy s10 plus. So flagship but old to midrange but new. I've had midrange before the s10 plus was fantastic as it was my first flagship. I prefer the flat screen over curved. The 5000mah battery life is great more galaxys like the plus models (s22plus s23 plus) should have 5000mah. I can tell though it is slowed down because of the exynos the s10 plus even old certain things were quicker and snappier
But it's been a day with the a54 so we'll see.
Nice review where did you get the wallpaper? Thanks and More powe!
ive been watching alot of reviews about this phone .. do you guys recommend it ? currently using iphone XR 64Gb .. or should i wait one more year until apple drop the XR ?
Just keep the Xr..also using it..and boi Xr still got plenty of power compared to this one..yeah some hardware maybe outdated but it still performed smooth..next year i heard that Apple would launch their new "budger" iPhone the new generation of SE series..better going that if you want to upgrade from Xr..
No 5G on the XR :(
What was the monopoly game you were playing at 8.33? Is it from Google playstore or elsewhere?
Can this phone run lot of ps2 games using ps2 emulator or we must buy a more expensive one?
8:22 you mad a mistake there, its a MediaTek Dimensity 1080
Well can't expect better for garbage cheapie
Do you happen to have any suggestions from your product links? The Samsung A34 are all thru 3rd party sellers and not from Amazon directly. I just want a reliable vendor. Please let me know 😊❤
Hi , using Samsung 's S series old flagship from 2 years ago . Got it at a much better price than any Samsung 's A series phone out there right now .
The A34 does not have a Snapdragon Processor...
@@LyoN003x for that purpose true, but for about 90 percent the latter is a better choice
This one is almost perfect. The only thing I would probably complain about is how NOT so bright the screen is.
are the a54's performance problems patchable by means of software updates? or is it doomed?
If you mean speed, try settings, display, smoothness and toggle on adaptive.
i have a samsung s10e (yes, a s10e). it still works fine, but i feel that i will need to change it soon.
i've been a fan of the s series forever, but i don't want to spend too much. i was thinking about the a54
is it a good idea? will i feel a "downgrade"?
Yes it is good idea. I have s10e too, but battery drains very quickly. I bought my A54 in April and I`m exited. good luck
Looking to replace my Moto G22 is this a good model or is there better for the price? looking for a good rear camera fast response that does not lag like the moto😀
It would be nicer if it had a headphones jack
I paid to park in a parking-meter, unknowingly I clicked on a website identical to the parking-meter website, but it was bogus. I was told by the City of Galveston, Texas that it happens 24/7
The City of Galveston would not compensate me for my loss, eventhough they know that millions of dollars are being stolen via their crappy parking-system.
Everything cool untill you called a half a grand phone which costs much more here a budget phone
