I’ve spent ages recently learning lot’s of Hendrix techniques and focusing on my lead guitar work. And it goes right over my girlfriends head, however with something fairly simple like this, she comes into the living room for a sing along and doesn’t give me death stares for being glued to my strat haha
G#maj7 - 1:22 Bbmaj - 1:56 Ebmaj - 2:46 D#5 - 3:33 Cm. - 4:19 When I play the last 3 chords on my 3/4 little martin neck I found it easier to just keep my index finger in barre over the 3rd fret. In fact moving from Cm to G#maj7 I can still keep my barre Awesome stuff!
Hey gang hope you're all rocking out to Dancing In The Moonlight! If you loved the video and the detail I bring to my lessons head over to my Patreon and check out what I've got to offer! I could be working on the song lesson you want me to make! www.patreon.com/antsguitartutorials?fan_landing=true
‘Rocking out to Dancing in the Moonlight?’ Never has a statement been so unintentionally ironic. It’s like the most beige, vanilla, middle of the road, mediocre, flaccid, banal, chicken korma, thumb it in record in history 😂
Hey Ant, loving your channel, a nice change from other guitar tutorial channels! This might be a long stretch, but could you do some chet Atkins lessons please?
Hi Steve, yeah it's something a little different isn't it? It's tricky to start with, but once you get that initial progression down you have cracked the whole thing, definitely a crowd pleaser and also sounds great acoustic haha! Yeah somehow I've managed to get this one done within a week which I'm very happy with haha, wish I could get them all out this quickly, moving onto another Oasis classic for the next video it's been long enough! All the best Steve
@@mr.stevejones1947 Haha Slide Away is still firmly on the list just waiting for the right track to put it with! In the mean time I'll be uploading a lesson on one of the slightly later singles! Hopefully have it uploaded for next weekend!
I figured it out the chord is 6th on b, 7th on g, 8th on g and for the picking pick the g string than b than put your finger down on the 8th fret and pick than take the pinky of than pick again than put your pinky on the 8th fret of the g string than pick
I wouldn't say im not a godlike guitar player or total beginner but this video is quite confusing and the only way i got to play it was to repeat the video ten-ish times :/
Great video overall, one thing though, you kinda went like “so do this and then do this, but if you want to do it a little more accurately do this” and didnt really explain
king harvest is who made this song famous....guess im old lol never heard of toploader and this is not the right key....sorry but its close sounds ok...but not quite
Haha sure thing, it is the right key however, if it was the wrong key it wouldn't sound 'close' the whole tonal centre would shift to a different note. I only studied for years at uni so please educate me on where this is wrong, maybe you can make an argument for chord voicing, but that's it.
All I'm saying is I've never heard of top loader.....maybe it's the voicing ..this is a much more accurate transcription... I didnt mean to offend ya tho... everything seems to bug me lately....my bad...I'm wrong.....in my own defense tho....its hard to tell the key when the tone is distorted....again my bad
@@imannonymous7707 It is the correct key. The Toploader version sounds more modern than the King Harvest one but they are equally enjoyable, and both are in the same key. Ant has done a fine tutorial here. Thanks, mate.
King Harvest wrote the song but it's debatable that they made it famous. Toploader's version is much more well known. Both relatively obscure bands other than this tune. Toploader's youtube vid for example has 90million views while King Harvest's has 5million.

I breathed a major sign of relief when it was "just c minor".
Lol
🤣😩
U mean a minor sigh of relief 😅

Colin, what a classic story haha! Got to be one of the best and most relatable things i've heard in a while, glad the missus now approves haha!
G#maj7 - 1:22
Bbmaj - 1:56
Ebmaj - 2:46
D#5 - 3:33
Cm. - 4:19

Awesome stuff!
Thanks man. Checkout a lot of covers as our band just picked up this song. Love your version. I’m using it! Thank you once again 🇨🇦🎸😎
Easy and to the point. I picked this up immediately! Thanks again

Hey Ant, loving your channel, a nice change from other guitar tutorial channels! This might be a long stretch, but could you do some chet Atkins lessons please?
Weird, because I just listened to Dancing in the Moonlight... by Thin Lizzy ha! Nice tutorial man!
Haha so close yet so far! I expect to see a Joel Christmas cover come out for this one soon! ;)

Nice surprise Ant, especially so soon after Rocks. Lovely guitar playing and tutorial.

@@AnthonyFernsGuitarTutorials Another Oasis classic? You've got me guessing. Slideaway?
Can't be. Just seen your answer below. I'll have to keep guessing.

@@AnthonyFernsGuitarTutorials Looking forward to it Ant. Now you've given us a hint, I'm tempted to guess but I'll keep my mouth shut this time.
Great thanks!
amazing,greetings from China
Wow thats far away! Glad you liked it mate, happy playing and greetings from the UK!
Nice Job !!
The D#5 at 3:33 I think is actually A# with a D bass note. The chord before that is a D# (or what you called an Eb)
great vid! but you didn't explain the fingerpicking on the second chord and I'm a little confused :( can anyone help with that?
I'm also confused af here
same
I figured it out the chord is 6th on b, 7th on g, 8th on g and for the picking pick the g string than b than put your finger down on the 8th fret and pick than take the pinky of than pick again than put your pinky on the 8th fret of the g string than pick
Thank you :)
Is this in standard tuning?? someone help please !
Yes it is
dude find an easier song if youre asking that😀
Coool😋👍🏻
hi! do you know what key this is in?
Does anyone have a tab for this?
Enjoyed and learned so much from your video, thanks Man.. only thing i have to strech my finger 😂 ( short finger)
I'm here for Thin Lizzy, damn it !!!

Hey Ant could you make a tutorial for Columbia by Oasis?
Columbia would be a fun one to jam out! I feel like it's a great warm up song to play at a gig!

Haha I can't seem to find a good backing track for it atm! it's firmly on the list however!
