Flew in the chipmunk a number of times out of Manston in the early 90s as an air cadet. Lovely plane. Most memorable flight was from RAF Sealand where we took off and did aerobatics over the sea by the blackpool tower. The pilot was a navy harrier pilot in between squadrons and was whistling cheerfully while we were doing stall turns and loops and barrell rolls and 14 year old me was in the back being compressed by the Gs and loving every second of it :-)
Just wanted to say, I thought this was one of the most enjoyable videos to watch that you have ever made. Loved seeing the smiles on everybody faces, keep up the amazing work
Well - that was epic! From a fan of the channel for years now, it was great to actually be involved and revisit such a fabulous day. Watching back I was reminded just how magical helicopters feel, superb stuff. And....from a technical point of view - that was a bloody faultless edit I must say. Some wonderful details throughout. 10/10!!!!!!!
Wonderful video and you can't beat a 360 cam in a heli-bubble the views and panning are awesome. Steve at Oaksey is a super nice guy and really knowledgeable I get some maintenance done there and they are always really nice guys. Production value on this one with external shots from Ben are superb.
Fantastic video! I adore it when you bring the wife with you. She adds to the already breathtaking views during flight and gives a sense of teamwork to the production. God bless them. What on Earth would we do without them. Great Job!!! Blue Sky's and Tailwinds
Very nice Rory, all looking very professional. Good to see you all together and I was smiling for you all too (heck of a milestone achievement). And Tom too (he's a nice lad too) - it's a small world. Many years since I've flown into Oaksey - except in various flight Sims, always fun to land a FS 'Jet Ranger' there (in between the hangers to test my pedal skills lol!) - or at times a 'Merlin' (iirc Scouts and Apaches have landed at OP in real life). Looking forward to the next one! I knew what Ben meant, the 'door to doorness' of a helo is amazing, seems obvious, but the feeling is amazing, my first flight was in a Scout, with my buddy and dad and I felt the same as Ben.
Thanks Muso, it really was a privilege to take Ben and Daisy up for their first heli experience. I thought Oaksey was great - lovely airfield in a beautiful part of the country. Thanks for watching as always.
Hi Rory, the Cotswolds are lovely although becoming more and more crowded by the year (I put that down to the BBC TV program - ETTC). And Kemble/Cotswold AP, seems to get very busy too - plus three or so glider sites (Nympsfield, Ashton Down and Sandhill Farm), then there's Oaksey, Charlton Park, Rendcomb, then, Brize and Fairford (which will get a lot busier soon) - and avoidance of Highgrove (up to 2000'). I think some pilots underestimate how busy the area is. You'll remember that flight long after you've ferried lots of paying PX's about in the years to come. Nice to see Tom too - so funny that photo/video bomb, he was very stealth like lol!
if you are flying to oaksey park again, the abbey at Malmesbury is well worth a look, also the Dyson site, worked in Cirencester at the Mitsubishi site on edge of town. Enjoyed the view of the cotswolds
Rory-what a cracking video. Thoroughly enjoyable. This must make all that hard work worthwhile. Beautiful day too. You can see the reactions from your viewers how much everyone enjoyed it. Thank you for your effort.
Great to see two of the main people who have influenced me taking up learning to fly fixed wing microlights right there! Thoroughly enjoy that guys, oh and girls 🤙
Hi Rory, we've had not Internet for over 2 weeks so just catching up on UA-cam things I've missed! Really enjoyed the flight and glad you managed to catch-up with Ben and Daisy in person. Now things are opening up a bit and the wx has improved I'm hoping to come down to Leicester soon and also love to visit Kemble, Charlton Park and the other airfields in that area.
Rory and lizzy hope both of you are well and the micro pilot. Philip really enjoyed your video nice scenery and the weather was beautiful. Rory you looked more confident with no mistakes I hope. You can tell you are getting more used to the helicopter now. Have a brilliant rest of the summer philip. Happy flying everyone phil.

Very cool to see two of my favorite youtubers (and their better halves as well!) together in one video! Oh, wait, does this mean I only get to see one video instead of two? Bummer... Nah, just kidding, great video, thanks for making it, and good luck with your joint business venture! Hoping to start my own microlight training in the very near future!
