If you buy one, keep in mind the transmission does have a lot of issues. Other than than, great for pretty much anything. Handles well, somewhat reliable, comfortable ride, and a well thought out interior. Does also have estimated fuel economy, miles until tank is empty, and oil life. This one is more modded than mine, so, there's more to that as well. This version is actually a deluxe edition. So it also comes with front mount proximity detection and a few other nifty settings. Speakers are incredible for a stock setup. The 07 explorer is a very nice vehicle, well worth it.
07 have horrible transmission issues at 87,000 thousand mine blew out in 07 replaced it ben good ever since with great maintenance oil changes fluid ETC u got a 300,000 mile car forsure atleast
I had an 2007 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer with the 4.0 just like this one except mine was charcoal grey. Very reliable, handled very well in snow and rain, had AWD, good cargo space, roof rack for additional cargo like a kayak, smooth comfortable ride, towing package, very safe vehicle with good brakes, and it was so fun to drive. It was the last Explorer with a body on frame construction as it felt rugged like a truck. Mine lasted 350k miles before the engine blew back in 2019 and I still miss it everyday. It was a trooper. So many adventures and many road trips enjoyed.
I was looking for a SUV to just drive around town since I work from home and bought a 2007 Eddie Bauer edition Explorer in April of this year for $8500 with 74.9k original miles. Smooth ride , no issues thus far. I did replace the sound system and added a 10inch sub. The transmission issues I read does worry me though, might have to sell it before that happens. Right now it has 75.8k miles on it. Super clean though.
After being around and driving an XLT V6 and a Limited V8 quite frequently i've grown to love this gen explorer. Definitely on my list as a 2nd vehicle in the near future. I'd have a hard time deciding between the 4.0 and the 4.6, The V8 is torquier but the way the transmission is geared doesn't make it feel all that more powerful over the 4.0
Once you put some miles on that thing, it will open up with a nice amount of pep for a six cylinder. My family has one with 168K miles and its the base model, and my mom says once it hit about 160K she could feel it open up in the pedal.
@@andrewhatton1606 Obviously the V8 is torquier, but like @2JZBobby said its not much of a difference, and if you think about it the 5R55S' aren't very strong transmissions, which with a V8 its gonna wear the tranny out faster vs a v6 not putting so much strain on it.
My dad had this exact explorer, this is literally a clone to it, I miss it soooooo much, it had a DVD player in the back, and I loved how comfy the seats were, I’m so mad that the engine blew on it.
hello brothers, I heard that there are always frequent problems with the gear box of most of Ford Explorer cars especially 20030to 2006 versions ,, is it true ? any one knows the reality please give me a reply, ( i am planning to buy a used explorer from one person ,,,,,)
Sup man I’m guessing the same, I’m about to buy a 2008 with 130k miles on it I test drove it and it was in perfect condition. Should I go with it ? Also did you end up buying one ?
We have that car. Very nice, the problem is that the power steps are turned off because there is an issue. Sad. However, we have a touchscreen for audio control, but however stuff is disabled, and track controls are a little flimsy. But very nice, (
Xavier Hawkins it basically is. Well, it's the deluxe edition. Automatic running boards is a dead giveaway. Mine doesn't have that and some other little features.

typerry99 Yes those ford exploders do have some transmission issues but as far as I know the 2006 model year is the only year when it was real bad.

How much would it cost to repair the transmission? Thanks.
this is my favorite version of the Explorer. They were built on a Volvo wagon chassis I believe. I have one and it handles like a sedan.
Only the 2011-19 was on the Volvo P2 chassis

Cleanest car I have ever seen
Best looking Ford Explorer

I'm more of a fan of the 90s ones with the 5.0, the 5.0 has a ton of build up potential if you find a clean one which is either easy or impossible.
My mom have exactly that on but white and the 3rd row of seats is electric also the temperature is digital
BEST VERSION ....
That was a good look body wise!

2JZBobby v8 is way more powerful that’s dumb to have v6 suv

I used to drive one like this but mine was red. I miss it so much, it was my first vehicle!

My Favorite Vehicle
I love that CAR
My dad has one that is now 12 years old and still working not great but not bad

I've got a 05 Escape Hybrid. It's got the two way hatch. 2005 explorers didn't have that. Weird.
This explorer has 1 storage up top and it has a garage door opener
Would this be the XLT Eddie Bauer trim level?
Does this Explorer's mirrors fold in with a touch of a button or do you have to fold them in manuely (by hand)
I've just bought one like this but mine is 2008 engine V8. It's the best mid size SUV ever made. It's easy to fix no lot's of technology.
Superb
I really like these 4th gen Explorers (and the Mercury version) and the good thing now is they're quite cheap.
My mom used to have 2010 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer With White Exterior and Tan interior but not anymore
Does it come with sun roof?

Exactly like my grandmas old car
I really don't like the look of the newer generations. Only 2010 and older look appealing to me.
8:07 8:08 third row seat electric
Slow down buddy
when he said his name i was like JAKE FOR STATE FARM
It's basically the platinum
