I own a 2006 explorer v8 4x4 190000k everything still works perfect. Just keep up on all maintenance. One weird thing is a failing coil pack will interfere with the PCM communicating with the TCM on the v8. The wiring harness travels near the coil packs on passenger side. Simply replace coil packs. Car has nice ride 20 mpg highway with v8. Great video
Enjoyed this video- shame about the mice! I have a 2006 XLT Eddie Bauer- the 4.6 V8 version and I love it. We exported ours to Hungary and parts are a challenge. It’s a lovely car to drive though and I wouldn’t want to part with it.
Just bought same thing like you a 2006 Ford Explorer with one problem there's no dipstick for the transmission, How can you check the transmission if it has no Dip stick to Check it!!!!!
They don’t have a dipstick for the transmission. 🤬 You have to check it from under the truck. I would recommend you search here on UA-cam for 2006-2010 ford explorer transmission fluid level. Thank for stopping by!

Michigan,
I bought a 2007, with 44,000 on it.
Clean and wonderful shape.
Thank you for explaining, I learned a lot.
it feel like we having this conversation in person, the pov is calm as hell.
Thank you. I appreciate your comment! 👍
This video is making me genuinely miss my 06. I had both thr 4.0 and traded it in for an 06 4.6l. Man i miss that v8 rumble. Vroom vroom
I heard a few times that the V8 is even a little better on gas than the V6. Can you attest that?
Nice vid, I’m planning to get one 2007-2008 here in Colombia 🇨🇴, thanks for the info
Nice , got 2 of them 02 V8 210k 20 years and 08 V6 260k 10 years great trucks maintain and they will last
Hey Greg, this video was very helpful information, I actually went out and bought a explorer today base on this video content.
thanks for the video. regards from switzerland.
Nice ride though. I sat once in one. They are just a hand wighth wider inside than a 2010 Escape.

I’m trying. Thank you for noticing! ❤️
@@GregsCarport you're welcome
Thanks for the informative video! Could you share your source for OEM headlights? Appreciate the help.
Amazing review! Definitely leaving a like. Also i was just wondering.. Did you get the tire pressure warning light off, And how?
I haven’t even gotten back to the Explorer in months. If the rain ever stops we’ll get back to it and get the remaining issues tackled.
Awesome bud, I still have my 2004 xlt version Go the Ford Explorer's thanks for sharing 👍
They are great. I need to get back at this one and continue its fix up.
A comfy ride eh?
This is a nice car. I would like to see another video of this car sometime if you have time to make a video of it. 😃
Loved mine put over 120k hard miles , it has 290 on it now , 06 4.6 V8 I’d be driving it to this day but it developed a misfire I can’t figure out
