Love My Ford Explorer......130,000 Miles Later. No issues...!
I'm just about at 300,000 miles (480,000kms) with my 2003! It's a V8 4x4 Eddie Bauer edition, been driving it close to 10 yrs. Body still in good shape after annual rustproofing and regular detailing :)

I just bought one and I LOVE it
Minus the transmission issues at 100,000 miles, its a great SUV. Pulled our 5000 lb trailer with no issues. Average 13 MPG whether city or hwy.
Dave S what kind of 100,000 mile transmition issues did you have?

Bought a mint 2002 explorer Eddie bauer ,as Nova Scotia goes.Had to swop out the transmission, that was fun. I get anywhere from 17 to 21 mpg. The heart has some high kms,around 346,000,but works well highway, town,and the camp road. Good video, happy Thursday, God bless. 🇨🇦

the aux cord plug in is on the centre console beside the handle to open the centre console in a 2007 eddie bauer, should be the same

I have a 1997 xlt 5.0 v8 and that thing is a beast. keeps running like a champ. snow, no problem. the v6 s always had issues.
I had a 98 explorer a few years a that I bought for $900 and it had 378k and ran fine. I was impressed but I traded for something I wouldn't have to worry about for 5-10 years. But that new car got rear ended and totalled. Should've stuck with the explorer

I have an 07 Eddie Bauer. The aux is behind the shifter.

Mine doesn't have the a.c. controls on the roof they are in the back seat along with another lighter outlet. Also don't have the power folding 3rd row. Just regular manual lol
I believe they started adding an aux port behind the shifter in 07 my 07 xlt has one

My 2007 sports trac has an aux but it is for xm radio
I like the way they drive, but the no dipstick transmission and the crappy spark plug situation in the 3 valve v8 makes them suck long term.

My 06 was a rusted out shitbucket that ate radiators and transmissions, but holy hell I loved that beast. Also when that cd changer shits the bed - and it will- once you replace the head unit it will unlock the full speaker power.
I loved mine.
Thinking to replace engine.
However would it be worth it.
06s does come equipped with the 6 speed for the modular v8. PS our current 09 has less options than the 06 we had totaled by a deer. Both xlts

@@starman8086 and after 2010 you can't pull 7500 lbs without worrying bout the transaxle snapping and the Taurus chassis straining under load (never been in thw fwd ones but it makes no sense for people to tow with a fullsize crossover that not a true BOF platform and no live drive axle in the rear so the transmission csn take the grunt of the work.)

It has to have like the TVs and stuff in the rear if you don't have that option then you have no aux port

I have an 2007 model and some of your review points were okay except for the drive.. on the explorer the driving is pretty ruff and you can hear the road will driving which is annoying. thats when playing the radio come into play also the rims are not chrome, there are plastic covers over metal. the actual trucks have real chrome rims. the explorers are known for their transmission problems although I haven't had a problem in the 2 1/2 yrs of owning my truck but I know its coming sooner or later. I want to upgrade to the f-150 hemi but 500 + a month is to high for me right now. until then, I'll stay with my 07 eddie Bauer.

Transmission Sucks On This Year. $3,700 For A Brand New Jasper Transmission. My Truck is In Mint Condition. Just hit 106,000 miles. Now having to Have A Brand New Trasmission Put In. Wish I could put it In myself. But Everything is High tech Computerized. Smh smh Just bought this Truck For $3,600 9 months ago
You got ripped off. The most common problem in these transmissions is the servo bores get worn....all you need is some new sleeves for the bores...its a cheap job. I guarantee you got scammed, its almost always the servo bores and shops just say you need a new trans. Btw, you got a steal on that thing so I wouldn't complain. That explorer is worth thousands more than what you paid if its 4x4.

that eddie Bauer has been wrecked!! it dont have the 3 bar nostriled grille thats exclusive to Eddie Bauer and sport trac explorers. that grille belongs in an xlt and limited model. whose the asshole that did a piss poor job repairing and paying attn to detail!! I know I own an '06 Eddie Bauer and I hit 2 deer with mine. I stressed to the body shop to make shur the correct grille went back in the vehicle or I wouldn't accept it back. this isnt by far the 1st Eddie Bauer I've seen like this. shade tree mechanics and body shop people!!

Kinda yeah, the fact my explorer had 300,000 miles on a ohv v6 before I sold it says a lot, and my company didn't get bought out and Ford explorer still is number one selling suv in north America like it always has been, that says a lot too. If a car sucked nobody would buy it:) nice try though maybe next year kid
chancelor massey I believe you on 300,000 miles on the 4.0 OHV those were great tough engine, but try that on the newer 4.0 SOHC or the new Ecocrap engine see if you can make it that far buddy, 150,000 miles is the limited for those engine, buddy. best selling crap.

Decent vehicle, but I'm not a huge fan Explorer during this time period. Kinda bland and for everyday use. The older Ford Explorers proved more exciting to drive in my opinion.
