I think analysts are giving way to much credit with the interceptions thing. In the game Monday he threw a pass that Harrison smith of the vikings just flat out dropped, and threw up a bad cross field lollipop jump ball that was fortunately dropped in a jump ball. It's he is not throwing picks, but he also isn't pushing the football down the field and attacking defense. Taking sacks and incompletions in lieu of interceptions while having bad passing stats isnt a positive
@ I think part of it might be he’s scared to throw a pick as it’s the one stat that is really being pushed positively for him. While he doesn’t need to be a gun slinger good QBs are going to throw picks. I think he’s not being aggressive enough but it in some ways also being careless in that he’s throwing up bad balls that just are getting dropped or are so off the mark no one can catch it.

Caleb has a good arm, but the guy looks like he's playing with a blindfold on. The amount of open receivers he misses downfield because he doesn't go through his reads is insane
@Harold-w2y But he's not. Thats the problem. Team is getting less yards. Less points and CW through 14 games has accounted for less tds than JF last year in 13. Line was worse last year. Skills were worse last year. 4 yds in a half against SF? 1 first down against Minn? His bad pass % is just that! Bad. His pressure to sack ratio is worse than anything you saw with JF. And again, the roster CW is working with is waaaaay better!
I dont think you can properly grade Caleb on this season based on the level of dysfunction, that being said, when u score 0 points in the first half 4 weeks in a row, it can't be all the coaches. Merrill hodge said it best last year on Colins podcast, he doesn't see it neither have I. Ive seen this for years with the bears organization they blame the coach and want them fired then they get worse,. They haven't found anyone successful since lovie smith and it aint going to change, they will screw it up. There is literally no evidence that calebe has anything else but the wow plays and when you make them when they're down 20 and the defense is playing soft then its not really a wow game changing play
I think blaming the bears organization is the easy part. The hard conversation is saying that Caleb has under performed as a good player on a bad team. Even in the vikings game he made very poor throwing decisions ( which weren't but should have been picked off) and missed wide open receivers ( not seeing them or overthrowing them). Probably the play that encapsolates this was at the the end of the game where caleb was scrambling left out of the pocket then came back right, and instead of hitting Cole K short across the middle, he throws an off balance on the move throw from the left side of the field to the right front endzone leading to a jump ball between the receiver and DB that ultimately got knocked down. No coach is going want their QB to make that throw and no NFL QB is going to make that throw. While his coaching and development haven't been good, some of his performances are just bad. If he's a generational talent, even he should be able to complete some passes in the first half of a game and not put up these disaterous first half numbers. We see flashes of talent, but just the inconsistency on routine throws and some of the decision making is not what you'd expect from a talent of his caliber
But he's not really under performing. It's playing exactly like a rookie. Better!! For some reason, you all just need become to want him to fail like you to. The new age sports fans are like transgenders, weirdos.
Question for Caleb Williams doubters..........Do you believe Caleb Williams would be playing better, the same or worse if he was QB for Detroit, Kansas City or Chargers?
He's not great. He has a better OLine, more weapons and essentially the same Dline. Yet both Trubisky and Fields had less and sports media attacked them but won't can't criticize Williams. It makes zero sense
Fields and Williams have one very important thing in common when it comes to the bears neither can do the most important thing and win games. End of story.
His no interception stat really isn’t that impressive when you consider he isn’t even putting up points and is taking way more sacks because he’s holding the ball.. he just doesn’t have that “understandment” 😅
Reasons Poles should be fired: 1) he picked the Princess Bust; 2) He could have picked her AND kept Justin since he only got a sixth round pick and they could have battled for the position. If she can't win the job she doesn't deserve it. They didn't want to hurt her feelings, but there are no feelings in football; 3) They didn't even bring Jayden Daniels into Halas hall and he's the far better qb, not to mention Caleb could wind up being the worst qb prospect picked in the first round of the FIVE that were picked. 4) The team won 7 games last year and that #1 overall pick and the 9th pick could have allowed this team to add multiple pieces to that 7 win team and continue the upward trajectory. Poles is the problem. He gambled on the pocket princess and this organization is going backwards quickly. #ZackWilson2.0
