I test drove a Tuscon hybrid and liked the drivetrain. Test drive a new Sportage and really liked the styling, in and out. So I ordered a Sportage hybrid. Had it nearly 3 months now and I'm happy with it. Drives well, great tech, much better mileage than my old V6 SUV.
HOW MUCH ABOVE MSRP DID YOU PAY?
@@KingKong-cp2qc I'm in Canada. The car included about $2000 in "dealer installed accessories" - paint protection, tint, wheel security, etc. Normally I would have bargained harder on those but I really needed to replace my old car ASAP and the supply situation has been tight.

I have the ex premium and to be honest they should have made the hybrid mode come on with regular driving. Constantly "coasting" isn't real life driving
I have that vehicle. What are you getting today? I'm getting around 36 mpg and I have around 33k miles on it. I try to coast in hybrid as much as possible but driving on the freeway it's difficult to keep it in hybrid mode

The dual setup can be defaulted. Just hold that lighting looking button for 3 seconds and will automatically default to your liking. It's very ingenious and intuitive. And, you can get a Sportage Hybrid in Fwd. False information.
Sportage Hybrid LX model is FWD. All other trims are AWD

The dual system may be annoying to you but I find it quite ingenious. Prefer reviewers not interject their own preferences in reviews.

@carbuzzcom Not subjective reviews. Dual system is ingenious technology. I could care less that your opinion is negative to that technology.
@@keithsmathers9815 You might think it's ingenious, but that's also subjective opinion. Objectively speaking, it adds a layer of complexity. An additional layer of complexity is an additional failure point, as well as an additional point to cause user error. Again, objectively speaking, it adds an extra step to complete a specific function that you would otherwise not need in a simpler system.
There are ways that users can get around that/adapt to it, but that would be a user accomodating a convoluted solution instead of technology making our lives easier.
With that said, I don't think it's too big a deal because this particular car can handle driving itself a little bit more safely while the user fumbles around with a dual layer control.

If you want to pay 6000 dollars over price
$4500 for the SX Prestige hybrid for me
The msrp is way over priced
