My daughter and I love watching your videos. Lol on every intro she is saying "what's going on youtube" with you. Great content. Keep up the great work.
Your channel has gotten better and better, with the new intro, etc. I love your comparisons, as it's thorough, so people can decide for their own what's important to them. Also, in regards to this car, it seems that you can't get the 43 MPG model in the top SX prestige, as it comes only in AWD. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@John Demilo Doh, so the EX doesn't come in FWD? If I have to get AWD I might as well go with the SX Prestige, but we'll see. They have a confusing array of options and adds and subtractions when it comes to the different trim levels. Makes it difficult to buy one off the lot, at this rate I'd have to end up ordering one, but I personally like to test drive a car first before buying it.
@@eleanormassaro5195 I agree. I love that blue and gray interior, which ironically is NOT available in the SX prestige. But gas mileage is more important to me, and since I can't get FWD in the EX version, I might as well go for the high end and get everything else even without the interior. If the EX came in FWD I'd go for that in a heartbeat. In case you're wondering I live in the Los Angeles area, where AWD is, well, only needed if you want to feel manly.
I am trying to understand this. The 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid FWD is rated at 42+ mpg. The AWD one at 38 mpg. It has Active Center-Locking differential. As I understand it, it would normally drive in FWD mode, and apply power to rear wheels (AWD) when needed. Since I would drive on dry roads good part of a year, would I not be getting FWD kind of mileage, 40+mpg ? Also, one can lock the differential in AWD mode vía the dial switch. Why do they not offer a FWD lock option as well ?? Best of both worlds.
I just bought this car today! Bought it right off the delivery truck as they were getting a shipment. Also a Hybrid EX. I paid a $2k markup which seemed much better than the 8-10k other dealers were asking!! When all was said and done with taxes, licensing, etc I was out the door at 41k. Not bad for a roomy and efficient SUV! I absolutely love it.
I have watched reviews of this car until I fear I am mind numbed. I'm going to comment on this one. Excellent job! Matter of fact presentation without all of the breathless histronics of other reviewers. Comprehensive treatment answered all of my detailed questions and reflected the trade offs inherent in the different trim options. It will prove very helpful to me in making a decision. Thanks.
Definitely! And the Carmine red interior is only available on the black and gray colors. I’m surprised the Snow White color doesn’t offer the red Teri or option
Really wish that they would have made the climate and media controls physical. I love being able to use knows in my car without having to take my eyes off the road.
Dont forget to read the sound level for the car, i really want to know how comfortable and quiet the car is. In some videos you do not do that, so please include that in every video.
Do you think resale values have gotten better on the Kia brand of cars? This Sportage and the Sorento? I’m looking at the Kia, Audi Q3 and the Lexus 350.
I’ve been waiting for this to come out but I guess I won’t be getting it. All of my local dealerships are wanting $10k over MSRP. Like wtf. The resale value is going to be under MSRP. What’s wrong with these people? They think they’re selling houses.
Wow, I keep reading these comments and I’m a bit astonished to be honest $10K markup, that’s daylight robbery - here in the U.K. dealers can’t do this with new cars, it’s illegal…..our consumer laws don’t allow it. They will try and sell you various add-ons but we are not obligated to buy any of them.
@@rufdymond Some dealerships are charging as much as $15k over MSRP. There are some other car brands like Ford that are charging $100k over MSRP for certain vehicles.
I need to know if this has the Transmission "Overheating" problem many Crossovers have (such as the Kia Seltos) and the "Spinning Wheels" problem that MOST have in which it takes FOREVER for the AWD (aka the tires that have contact with the ground) to engage, thus the AWD NOT actually working properly like it should (though the Subaru Forester DOES work like it should, the contact tires IMMEDIATELY turning and pushing the car forward, almost zero wheel spin).

Love your videos for the detail. I love the kia sportage interior over tuscon interiors. Between a Tuscon Hybrid limited and Sportage hybrid sx prestige, I am horribly confused. I prefer Kia sportage overall, but is Hyundai the more reliable and less depreciating over time brand than Kia?
We are currently making arrangements to have one of these at home for a whole week. Then we will be able to get some real world MPG numbers, but this press drive was too short to asertain any useful MPG figures. We look forward to putting it to the test!
@@CarConfections glad to hear because I really want this vehicle. Great bang for the buck but if the MPG isn't even close to what they advertise I don't see the point in buying it. BTW love the video
Hi, I'm disabled and need to transport my scooter in the rear cargo area. Can you tell me what the height of the opening of the cargo bay is from the ground? And also, what is the height of the opening; not the interior head room, but the entrance opening height.
Once again, great review! I see my local Kia dealer is putting a $4,000 market adjustment over MSRP on the gas powered Sportage. I hope this trend stops soon!
I noticed that you reported that the Hybrid model has a 6-speed automatic transmission. Is that true? The naturally aspirated engine/base model comes with an 8-speed. Wonder why they changed the drivetrain.
