This 62 year old American lady cried my eyes out watching this. This was our story when I met my husband in 1980.
We were poor. We were working hard and just starting out. He said he wanted to ask me to marry him, but he was saving for a ring.
Next day, I asked him to take me to Jefferson’s department store in Florida (it was like in the sears category of stores)
I picked out a modest CZ ring. He had a hard time with me doing this and said “you deserve more.”
I told him that the fancy ring wasn’t my dream. Living my life with my dream man was.
I cried too..not with sadness though
Australian here, I also didn't want to spend big bucks on a ring ( back in 1984) as I had a house and 5 acres that we were going to buy. Funny I remember my dad looking at the ring and sort of making fun how small it was!. Now we have been married 39 years and I dont even wear those rings now as my fingers got fat lol. I now have my Mother's rings ( she passed on) big flashy rings in my mind. Can not see myself every wearing them. Life is working out what is important to you.
Hey Paul my Friend you have this 60 YEAR old 6'2" 240 pound MAN crying like a big Baby , not because I am upset but because of inspiration ! THANK YOU MY FRIEND AND GOD BLESS YOU AND MAE AND YOUR NEW FAMILY 😇🙏😇
Very Great true life story CONGRATS !!!
Without question, your most incredible video. I am 79 years, I lost my wife 5 years ago, and I am coming, sans girlfriend, to the PH in April. After watching more than 500 videos on the FH/Expat subject, I cried through nearly all this one. I have been watching the Baby Mae and Old Paul journey for more than two years. The real goal in the Philippines is not finding a wife. The real goal, for him, is finding the RIGHT wife and, for her, finding the RIGHT partner. Both you and dear, dear Baby Mae hit this one over the fence and clean out of the proverbial ballpark. CONGRATULATIONS!! I am very, very jealous!
He is old. And could not get a young woman in America. So he went to the Philippines to buy a wife. In America, a young woman would not marry a pervert. I don't care how much money he has 🤣
It's May now. Did you decide to go to PH?
Wow! C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S Paul and Baby Mae !!
Congratulations to Paul & Baby Mae. You got a car, a dog and a great Filipina. Life is good ✝️
Congratulations to you both . Hope you have many happy years together. Enjoy every day . Love and peace to you both .
Such a wonderful way to start your new life. You both are blessed.
Congratulations Paul and Mae from Texas, USA
You won!
God bless you both.

Wow, Baby Mae is such a humble and good person. She actually preferred a smaller ring to a bigger ring because she didn’t want to show off. She said the more humble ring with the little cubic zirconia best reflects who she is. Wow. So, so, humble. What a good heart.
The meaning behind the ring is what she cares about, not the ring itself.
Mae is the gem! Opposite of the American woman! Yall give us hope Paul! Thanks for what u do! Dr. Joe
@@dr.josefudeyama64 I have to agree, the diamond business makes their money by driving wedges between people who love each other, essentially demanding they buy expensive diamonds that really are not rare. They simply restrict the supply and pump up the demand. It's so refreshing to find someone who's immune to such shady influences. Mae truly is a gem.
Yeah Man, that story is killin me too!
There should not be any wonder why any Sane man would not prefer a Filipina such as Baby Mae over what a Man of a certain age would have to settle for in this horrible place America.
@@GeecheeLion America is a lovely place, it just has some idiots in it that think an insurrection is OK.
Congratulations to both of you. Thank you for that inspirational love, family story.
Great story with a lot of meaning and love. Best wishes in your journey through your and Mae time together.
Congratulations. Baby Mae and Paul.
I don't know why, but this makes me happy. Congrats Paul and Mae.

Congrats to You and Mae my friend!!!
Thanks so much
I'm proud of you my friend, so many say never marry but commitment to each other can be a beautiful journey
Congratulations may God continue to bless you both. Amen 🙏
Awesome news, I love the logic of asking do you see yourself with this person for the rest of your life, to many men avoid this and end up enduring a relationship longer and often making the breakup even more painful. Your both wonderful people and your lives will be bountiful.
Congrats with best wishes to you both.
Thank you so much!
Well, the training wheels came off. Congratulations and continued happiness.
My heartfelt congratulations to Paul and Baby Mae. May God Bless You with Many Years of Health Happiness and Prosperity... Rev. Harry

Paul, I’m not kissing ass, but you are a deep thinker who sees the overall picture when viewing a situation. Your intellect is overwhelming and your IQ is quite high for being a car salesman. Much appreciated bro. Congratulations to you and Mae on your upcoming marriage!
I definitely agreed with your observation about Paul
I just watched the full video, and as I peck away at my keyboard, a tear or two are rolling down my face. A beautiful story. I only wish that I can find just half the love you two have... You lucky bastard you. Your both so lucky to have each other.

Congratulations to you and Mae! My First marriage to am American girl ended in divorce. My second marriage was to a Filipina. We have been married 25 years now. Congrads Paul and Mae ... Way to go . Living the dream .. What a big surprise..
Congratulations you two!
Hi Paul I enjoy the videos and your content I want to say congratulations to you and Babe Mae She is a very special woman and I can tell be the way you speak of her and how she carries herself . I was a parole officer here in the US and I have seen situations over the years when people whose lives are so difficult early on and then I believe God intervenes and turns everything around for them The bible says you reap what you sow and I have seen that come to pass alot. Of all the people you could have met The Good Lord guided your footstep to her. When I listen to this video it reminded me of a song by Rascal Flatts - Bless The Broken Road If you read this message please take the time to sit with Baby Mae and listen to this I hope you enjoy may God Bless and keep you always
Congratulations Paul & Mae. Good decision finally. So happy for both of you
Congratulations to the both of you. I am so happy for you, and I enjoyed watching the entire video. Thank you.
Dang, Paul & Mae, congrats!!! I don't catch every single one of your videos, but do watch enough of them. You described an awesome romantic tale on so many levels! We can see and hear in your voices that you two truly care deeply about each other, so awesome!💯
That was the most beautiful and inspirational story I've ever heard and I wish you and Mae congrats and the very best in life!! ☺
Thank you so much!!
Good luck for your Life together.👍👏
Congratulations and best wishes. Very happy for you.
I'm being presumptuous in saying it, because I haven't watched enough of your videos... You have tied the knot, because you know she's the one, and you found real love. There's something else she wants from you, Paul. If it's not too late, give her a legacy; your legacy.
Paul and Mae.....CONGRATULATIONS!!!....so happy to hear that you are married.I had always hoped that this would happen. I could tell that you guys were meant for each other.I'm wishing you all the best and I am looking forward to hearing about your future together.🇨🇦

Congratulations to both of you. You're meant for each other.
Congratulations Paul, I have been married to a Filipina for 43 years. Got married in Olongapo in 1979 and have never regretted it. Getting her to the states may be a hassle but its well worth it. Best wishes in your future with her and God bless.
Good Paul enjoy like you Cliff I have been married for 30 years to my philippine wife no regrets at all
Congratulations Paul and May! Surprise, surprise!
🎉 Congratulations, Paul and Best Wishes to the Lovely Mae. 🎉 What a heartwarming story! Thank-you for sharing.
CONGRATULATIONS to BOTH of you,!!!
Paul I just finished watching the video, thanks for Sharing this story it is very touching. Again Congratulations!!
Congratulations to you both. Nice story.
Old Dog's life story is going to feature in so many other videos about the growing phenomenon of American men (Western in general) going abroad to find a wife.
Well mostly single men over 60 at least.
Not only American but European, Australia and where I am from New Zealand.
@@johnjury4334 even older Korean, Chinese too you know it gets very tough after 60 for many men and women to find partners.
I certainly hope not. Having watched his videos for quite a while, I've never had the impression he came to the Philippines to "find a wife". I'm certainly happy it worked out that way and I've been rooting for him to take the plunge for a long time. Mae is a catch, and Paul is sincere, thoughtful and honorable. No gimmicks in his vids, though an occasional cheesy title does pop up. 😆 Best video to date Paul. Asawa and I have been married 41 years and I've never seen or heard a better or more honest explanation of the mental/emotional realizations marriage can bring.
Congratulations on your marriage. I myself had a tear come to my eye after hearing this story about Mae and her father. Bless you all and hope you have a wonderful life together! ❤
Outstanding! Congrats to you both
Wow. Beautiful. Congratulations!
I believe that's what makes a good relationship: each person doing their best to improve the quality of life for the other. It just melts the heart to see it come to fruition in you two. Thanks for sharing. Best video of my day.
Thank you for sharing that story about how Mae chose her ring. It put tears in my eyes. God is most definitely shining His Countenance upon her. Your wife is truly a Very Special Woman and you are both very blessed. I can definitely relate to what you shared about your son as I still feel that way about my son. Thank you for ALL that you do Paul.
You are so welcome
@@paulinthephilippinesolddog9234 you're so fantastic Paul....
Congratulations Paul & Mae, Mr & Mrs.
Congratulations, to you both I love it!!!!!!
Hello Paul, you repeating Mae’s words on her engagement ring is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard a woman say. You are a blessed man!!!! Congratulations to you both 🎉🎉🎉
I married a girl from Vietnam. We did the fiancé visa, we had dated for two years before we decided to get married. We made sure that we documented our relationship with photographs, phone records, hotel receipts… after a civil ceremony in Vietnam we submitted our application for the K-1 visa to the embassy. About a month later she had an interview then I think she had a second interview and then she was on a plane to America with the caveat that within 90 days we either get married or she goes back. We got married… here it is 10 years later we have two children and we live in America it was fairly easy to be honest. Congratulations and God bless you two! 😊🙏🏼👰🏻♀️🤵🏼
Awesome story Paul lots of emotion
Congratulations to the two of you! You made the right decision.
Hey, Paul, doctor from Brazil and Spain here... man, this is THE VIDEO... I have seen so many dramas in my life as a doctor and so many have never succeeded to a happy ending.
You got a wise girl in your hand... it means education is not the best teacher to make a person wise... she is wise... and this video taught me I am right about the way I face life.
I am not rich as a doctor should be because I have always lived a simple life and my concern is mostly on trying to be less stupid... hahahah... And your video telling Mae"s point of view toward life was simply fantastic... And congrats for your decision to make the right choice...
A big hug for the nicest couple on UA-cam...❤ love you both...
That is by far the Best story you have ever told. You have both along with her dad won the lottery of life, Happiness! Overwhelming story, I am so impressed with how you each put others first. The world needs a few billion more like you. Congratulations and may you guys always live in happiness.
Thank you so much!
I agree so much with your quote "The world needs a few billion more like you"! PERFECT.
Congratulations and best wishes.
Wow! Congrats. That's awesome.
I lost my wife to cancer about 5 years ago she was like Mae in the sense she picked the smallest ring evan though I was pushing much larger one . Keep in mind she was American and all her friends were walking around with much bigger rings she never thought it was necessary for her to be happy or proud. I feel lucky she was my wife it sounds like your lucky as well . The part about her father was very touching as well . Congrats too both of you .
Been waiting for this news for a while now. Congratulations to you both! Hearing about Jimmy and Mae is quite touching and is a reminder of how much many families sacrifice in the Philippines for survival and a better life. Such a happy outcome!
Congratulations to you Paul and Mae and have a happy and healthy life. I can relate to part of your story.
