This 62 year old American lady cried my eyes out watching this. This was our story when I met my husband in 1980. We were poor. We were working hard and just starting out. He said he wanted to ask me to marry him, but he was saving for a ring. Next day, I asked him to take me to Jefferson’s department store in Florida (it was like in the sears category of stores) I picked out a modest CZ ring. He had a hard time with me doing this and said “you deserve more.” I told him that the fancy ring wasn’t my dream. Living my life with my dream man was.
Australian here, I also didn't want to spend big bucks on a ring ( back in 1984) as I had a house and 5 acres that we were going to buy. Funny I remember my dad looking at the ring and sort of making fun how small it was!. Now we have been married 39 years and I dont even wear those rings now as my fingers got fat lol. I now have my Mother's rings ( she passed on) big flashy rings in my mind. Can not see myself every wearing them. Life is working out what is important to you.
Wow, Baby Mae is such a humble and good person. She actually preferred a smaller ring to a bigger ring because she didn’t want to show off. She said the more humble ring with the little cubic zirconia best reflects who she is. Wow. So, so, humble. What a good heart. The meaning behind the ring is what she cares about, not the ring itself.
@@dr.josefudeyama64 I have to agree, the diamond business makes their money by driving wedges between people who love each other, essentially demanding they buy expensive diamonds that really are not rare. They simply restrict the supply and pump up the demand. It's so refreshing to find someone who's immune to such shady influences. Mae truly is a gem.
There should not be any wonder why any Sane man would not prefer a Filipina such as Baby Mae over what a Man of a certain age would have to settle for in this horrible place America.
Without question, your most incredible video. I am 79 years, I lost my wife 5 years ago, and I am coming, sans girlfriend, to the PH in April. After watching more than 500 videos on the FH/Expat subject, I cried through nearly all this one. I have been watching the Baby Mae and Old Paul journey for more than two years. The real goal in the Philippines is not finding a wife. The real goal, for him, is finding the RIGHT wife and, for her, finding the RIGHT partner. Both you and dear, dear Baby Mae hit this one over the fence and clean out of the proverbial ballpark. CONGRATULATIONS!! I am very, very jealous!
He is old. And could not get a young woman in America. So he went to the Philippines to buy a wife. In America, a young woman would not marry a pervert. I don't care how much money he has 🤣
Congratulations Paul and Baby Mae. I've enjoyed your vlogs for some time and am so happy that you have finally "taken the plunge". Please accept this small token as a wedding gift.
Hey Paul my Friend you have this 60 YEAR old 6'2" 240 pound MAN crying like a big Baby , not because I am upset but because of inspiration ! THANK YOU MY FRIEND AND GOD BLESS YOU AND MAE AND YOUR NEW FAMILY 😇🙏😇
Awesome news, I love the logic of asking do you see yourself with this person for the rest of your life, to many men avoid this and end up enduring a relationship longer and often making the breakup even more painful. Your both wonderful people and your lives will be bountiful.
Congratulations to you and Mae! My First marriage to am American girl ended in divorce. My second marriage was to a Filipina. We have been married 25 years now. In 25 years (seems like yesterday) I can't remember ever having 1 or 2 serious arguments. Mae sounds like a gem! Your true soul mate! Hope to meet you both one day in the Philippines . I married a girl from Vietnam. We did the fiancé visa, we had dated for two years before we decided to get married. We made sure that we documented our relationship with photographs, phone records, hotel receipts… after a civil ceremony in Vietnam we submitted our application for the K-1 visa to the embassy. About a month later she had an interview then I think she had a second interview and then she was on a plane to America with the caveat that within 90 days we either get married or she goes back. We got married… here it is 10 years later we have two children and we live in America it was fairly easy to be honest. Congratulations and God bless you two! 😊🙏🏼👰🏻♀️🤵🏼
Wow! I actually shed a tear at the end of your story. I'm really happy for both of you. It's fairly close to my story. We're getting married the end of April or early May. My Filipina is the only woman (been married twice for 36 years total), who really cared about my health and that I live a long time. She also had to work as an OFW for about 12 years to help support her 2 kids and the rest of the family. Her mom told me our relationship was a gift from God for them. Thanks for the wonderful story. All the best Paul and May.
I’m right with you. I just turned 60. I had 100% given up and forgotten about Love. I live here in the Philippines and didn’t even consider dating or trying to meet another woman when we met. Life had burned me. I was just a dead man walking. Then out of the blue , one day, this amazing woman walked into my life. It’s still hard to believe every morning when I wake up next to her, even after all this time. I can’t understand how she was single when we met. I truly can’t. But we have been together long enough for me to accept she is nothing short than a blessing from God. There is no other explanation for us meeting. None. We too will get married and I am hoping it too will be April/May. I wish you the best.

I lost my wife to cancer about 5 years ago she was like Mae in the sense she picked the smallest ring evan though I was pushing much larger one . Keep in mind she was American and all her friends were walking around with much bigger rings she never thought it was necessary for her to be happy or proud. I feel lucky she was my wife it sounds like your lucky as well . The part about her father was very touching as well . Congrats too both of you .
Been waiting for this news for a while now. Congratulations to you both! Hearing about Jimmy and Mae is quite touching and is a reminder of how much many families sacrifice in the Philippines for survival and a better life. Such a happy outcome!
This bought tears to my eyes hearing about Mae’s dad . So touching and heartbreaking also joy. Us Westerners don’t realise how lucky we truly are to live where we do. I could hear in your voice when talking about Mae’s dad that you were becoming emotional also. I am very happy that you both have found each other and could have a few of her fathers dreams become a reality. Congratulations on your wedding 🎉. Best wishes from Sydney, Australia!❤

I believe that's what makes a good relationship: each person doing their best to improve the quality of life for the other. It just melts the heart to see it come to fruition in you two. Thanks for sharing. Best video of my day.
wow ! i am happy for you two !
Congratulations my friend! Happy for you two and wish you a long life together and all the best along the way.
Been waiting for this news for a while now. Congratulations to you both! Hearing about Jimmy and Mae is quite touching and is a reminder of how much many families sacrifice in the Philippines for survival and a better life. Such a happy outcome!
Just wonderful, Paul!!
So proud for yall!!!
CONGRATULATIONS! So glad you both finally found someone! How wonderful! Now relax
Oh please. He has told the dad and car story more than once.....but with a different car. He is just playing to the gullible like you.
