We used to call it bird-dogging. Pointing out and flushing out prey. You nailed it. It works the other way too. I had a gorgeous but rather naive friend who went away to nursing college. She came home and told me how three other much less attractive friends would insist she go out to the bar with them. She said every time a man came over they would almost knock her off her chair and grab them.

It is called SEX TRAFFICKING. The lady kept looking Baby Mae up and down. She was assessing her value in the field of endeavor for her employers. I am really glad Baby Mae was not naive an desperate as the woman thought she was. This occupational field (if it is to be called that) is heartbreaking. The individuals head of this scam should be incarcerated in solitary confinement forever. In most cases this drives their mental status to insanity. I know it is a longshot but I hope they capture these horrific nonhumans. Appreciate you Paul making this vid. Hopefully it can help women out there who watch this. Thank you for posting this. Very important.

Of course she was recruiting. Paul, I know you see yourself as a wise old dog and Mae as an innocent/naive/inexperienced young person, but Mae also knew exactly what was going on too. She fully knows the choices she made, being with you and she will fully know the choices she makes going forward. Don't you be naive either my friend. She seems like a great, good girl. Not saying I’m invincible as we all have our kryptonite but this was something I’d have caught at the first line. Good on her for being wise.
Oh this was recruiting for sure, what starts out as an innocent invite for a good meal can get nefarious in seconds flat. Good on Mae for reading the situation. This is how human trafficking happens.

I think your instincts are sound Paul. One thing I missed. At what point did Mae mention she had to meetup with her "husband" later? I'm pretty sure that would have shutdown the friend of a friend meeting immediately. But I get having this type of attention is flattering.

Age old saying that has worn well "Beware of strangers bearing gifts"---here's a funny unrelated story about teeth. I had a friend who owned an RV park in Alabama. When he died his wife wanted to sell the park and she had a local guy who wanted to buy it. She didn't know much about the finacial side of the park so she asked me if i would talk to the buyer about it. I asked her if he was smart enough to understand the finances if i explained it to him and she said " Well, he still has his teeth".

Saul Blardpell here (good friend of Paul Cardwell). When Paul was interviewed by Mark Thornton on the Every Man Has a Story channel 10 months ago, he said his Filipino girlfriend Sheila had been living in Dubai and for the last 8 years and works there as a policewoman. Today on Paul's World Zoom channel he had Sheila on as a guest and did a Q&A with her. During the video she said that she lives in Dubai and has worked for the same company for the last nine years. She said she did not want to disclose what she did. When Paul asked her where she would be travelling next, Sheila replied that she would be going to Hungary as that is where the company she works for has its main office. It is doubtful that the Dubai Police has its main office in Hungary. The Dubai Police is not a company. Even if Sheila was a Filipino police officer on secondment to INTERPOL, INTERPOL's main office is in Lyon, France not in Hungary. Has Sheila misled Paul? Paul will be mortified if he finds out Sheila lied to him. Paul detests liars.

Since the military is returning to Subic Bay there's a shortage of women to service them. I can understand there has to be some recruiting happening through out the islands.

We think alike I was thinking recruiting almost from the start of your story. I have had tricycle riders asking my wife how much in tagalog while I am sitting beside her. Things are different in the Philippines but it will always hold a place in my heart.

This reminds me of "David Bond" UA-cam channel. He has 3 girlfriends in Cebu and he calls them his angels and takes them all over the Philippines.
I could be way out of the box, but there is a lot of human trafficking going on and it affects the poor people more than any other.
It sounds like she had the sense to realize that people who offer something free are most often doing it for their benefit and not yours.

Sounds like the foreigners have a nice thing setup. Some variety and a little strange once in a while at a low cost. Years ago in Thailand I had a small favorite bar. They had usually about five ladies working there. When I was the only customer, they would lock the front door and put up the closed sign. I would buy a cheap bottle of whisky and the fun would begin.

A few years ago, I ran into a Filipino woman here in the USA who did the same thing, finding women for American men to marry so they could become US citizens. A friend of mine did it many times, only staying with them for a few years, then off to the next new wife. Take care, Paul, Mike in the USA

I was there 60 days and didn’t see much nightlife with Live Music anywhere. They have a 24 hour McDonalds near City Mall, that’s about it.

Those of the third category are prone to make poor investment choices which may include those who are wealthy but in cognitive decline and so are vulnerable for exploitation by a wolf or wolves in sheep's clothing.

As a former law enforcement officer I don't recommend that she do this.
This is not a safe thing for Mae to do.
