This was definitely a very well-explained video tutorial on how to use a salt chlorine generator. I couldn't figure out what all the different numbers on my generator were. Playing this video and pausing it and writing the information on paper so that I have a reference next time I need to troubleshoot my generator again will be helpful. The number of times to push the diagnostic button to get to the proper reading and changing from auto to super chlorinate until I get my desired reading and what the numbers that appeared were. Thank you for explaining it so well.

Just a quick note to let you know how much I really appreciate this video. I have always had a pool company taken care of my pool equipment until this year. I am now learning how to take care of it. This video has been extremely informational and allowing me to take care of this pool myself. Again, thank you so much!

Thank you for this video. I sure wish the pool sales lady that opened our pool and went over the operation of the pool was as informative as you were. 5 years later and I’m still struggling with our salt system. The flow switch was damaged upon installation and they replaced it. This year it has the no flow light lit up. I attempted to change it and ruined the new switch. Old one came out fine, no issues. New one was difficult to get into the hole then was very hard to screw in. After about 1/4 turn I removed it only to find I bent it. Well there went $100.

Awesome. So glad we could help. If cleaning the cell doesn’t fix it make sure you consider replacing the cell. The first thing to go out on the aqua rite system is typically the reader for salt level. Most cells have a 300lb-725lb(the new ones) life span. Meaning it makes that much in its life. If you run the cell less percentage and don’t have to use the super chlorinate frequently it should last up to 10years or so.

Hello, thank you for this video!
So my salt level is 700, about 32,000 gallon pool. Once I get the salt, do I just pour it in and turn the switch to “auto”? The reagent strip I did at home is within normal limits, just the pH and total alkalinity is one level below normal.
Do you think the added salt will be enough for a smooth-running pool?
    Thank you so much

I ordered a new Hayward Aqua Rite T-15 salt system thru World Pool Supply - I didn't notice it when I gave it to the plummer to install that the Name on the Display board was Swimpure Plus and when I went to register thru Hayward the serial number on the ox didn't match the serial # on the display box - I've had a Hayward Salt System for over 10 years and my cell had busted during a freeze so I replaced the whole system. I started out with 38 - 40lb bags of salt and the reading was 3400 - it drops 200 every 12 hours until it gets to 2600 and check salt light comes on - I'v been adding 2 bags of salt every other day - reading goes up and starts coming back down again to 2600 - please help - should I be concerned about getting the swimpure and not the aqua rite I ordered?

I have the Aqua rite with t9 cell, about 6 years old. Determined due to error messages that the circuit board needed to be replaced. Bought the Hayward and installed it following video instruction. I'm in Toronto and the pool was just opened 3 days ago. Everything seemed OK but now the settings show no salt, 0 reading, and the check salt light and inspect cell are on and solid. I knew salt level was good as I had added some - pool store read it at 3400. I then cleaned the cell with acid/water even though it was not dirty at all. Still the lights stayed on. How do I know if it is the cell or the Aquarite?

  • @armenkavoukjian2423

You mentioned that half of the cells work at one time. What is happening to the other half are they descaling? Is the polarity reversed so it cleans itself? I have new original Hayward generator and it fills up in a month time where before it used to last for years before I had to clean. Was something changed?
