You know, I've often heard it said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result, and in these episodes, that's exactly what Brain did, so that actually makes some scary sense...
no it's not. brain is doing the exact opposite of that, he's doing something different every night and expecting the same thing to happen. he refuses to ever use the same plan twice
Brain: Through meticulous analysis of history I will find a way to make the people worship me. By studying the conquerors of days gone by, I'll discover the mistakes that made them go awry. Pinky: So that you can make the same mistakes if you just try. Brain: By studying the past so carefully, I won't repeat the same mistakes of history. Pinky: You'll never make another mistake, you see, 'cause you'll fall asleep from reading all that history. Brain: Pay attention Pinky! When Cleopatra reigned as Queen, With Roman leaders she was often seen. But when she had no ruling friend, She found a poison snake to bite her in the end. Pinky: A bite down there I really wouldn't recommend. Brain: I won't need world alliances, When I'm commanding everyone's appliances. Pinky: Oh no Brain, that would really smart, To be bitten on the bottom by a Cuisinart. Brain: Hannibal, our book confirms, Tried conquering Italy with pachyderms. Just why he failed, nobody tells, But he never could get past the Roman sentinels. Pinky: And he couldn't find his weapons in the peanut shells. Brain: An elephant is not required, If I can use the media to be admired. Pinky: The TV viewers you'll delight, Unless the network puts your show on Sunday night. Brain: Attila was a mighty Hun, He ransacked Asia Minor just for fun. But when he got to Europe's banks, He was routed by an army of heroic Franks. Pinky: I like mine with sauerkraut and mustard, thanks. Brain: Why pillage like a criminal, When I can send out messages subliminal. Pinky: Please send a message to that Hun, To see if he can pillage me a hot dog bun. [whack] Zort! Brain: Caligula was no boy scout, He did things that we can't even talk about. The Romans knew he'd lost his head, When he filled a vacant Senate seat with Mr. Ed. Pinky: What's wrong with being friendly with a thoroughbred? Brain: Why rule like such a reprobate, When I can put the world in a hypnotic state? Pinky: When everybody's in a trance, You can make the people do a chicken dance. Brain: Pinky, if you don't stop this foolishness, I shall have to hurt you. Pinky: 'kay. Brain: In France, Napoleon Buonaparte, Thought beating Austria was very smart. But when he took on England too, He was beaten up by Wellington at Waterloo. Pinky: And now he's just a pastry filled with creamy goo. Brain: Why conquer with depravity, I'll win the world by undermining gravity. Pinky: And even if your plan falls through, Maybe they will name a pastry after you. [squirt] Waahahaha! Brain: From Ghengis Khan to Charlemagne, From Alexander down to Tamburlaine. I find a ruler's tragic flaw, And gain a little wisdom out of each faux pas. Pinky: Don't forget the former Governor of Arkansas. Brain: That concludes my little rhyme, I hope this lesson wasn't just a waste of time. Pinky: Well Brain, I've learned that one thing's true, Every one of them has failed, and so have you. Brain: Thank you for your vote of confidence. Now come, we must prepare for tomorrow night. Pinky: Why, what are we going to do tomorrow night? (Gasp) Sing a song about all the world's cheeses? Brain: No, Pinky, we shall try to take over the world -- Through meticulous analysis of history.

Then Toyotomi chase him hard. To clean Oda's name and claim his rights. But when his son faces Tokugawa His generals were beaten at Sekighara. (Pinky) : Oh i love the taste of Sushi and Soja !
Mussolini was inspired to recreate the Roman Empire, but when he tried to invade Greece, the Greeks took apart his army piece by piece. (Don’t forget to mention he was real obese)
"Caligula was no Boy Scout, he did things that we can;t even talk about." Not on a kids show, you can't! Come to think of it, not on most adult shows these days.
viljamtheninja wITH ALL DUE RESPCT IT AINT aIM At children. iTs aim at everyone . It is just brilliant humor about life. Almost all cartoons are made by grown ups. And its not about the pictures but the content. Animaniacs was not chidlren show it had adult content.......... like the perversion they did with the nurse. The way the addressed her was perverted.
Jose Blanco It was absolutely aimed at children. It was, however, a show that was written well enough that everyone could enjoy it - including plenty of dirty jokes snuck in that only adults would understand. But these jokes were SNUCK IN. They weren't really part of the main program; they were there for the adults watching with their kids. Y'know, the kids the show was aimed at. No, not all cartoons are children's programming. Animaniacs was, though. If you think sexualization of a character makes it an adult show, you probably need to watch... fucking anything, really, but try Bugs Bunny. Really, the old Warner Bros. cartoons were often overtly sexual. By the way, you say "Almost all cartoons are made by grown ups." Do you actually believe that something needs to be made BY CHILDREN in order to be commercially aimed at them?
I love how the producers of "Pinky and the Brain" came up with the idea of having the Brain character affect an Orson Welles style of voice; as there were film roles where Welles played the parts of sinister characters.
Ah, what a fun song indeed. It does a really good job at showing us how some of history's many conquerors failed to, well, conquer. And Pinky singing about things that are entirely unrelated to the topic at hand was also great!
@@curtisleblanc5897 I mean, considering that it's basically up to us to decide who between the two is a genius and who is insane, I'm not surprised that there could be some alternate interpretations of this...
You know, the intro of Pinky and the Brain has the line "One is a genius, the others insane". Naturally, it seems like Brain is the genius... until you get songs like this one, and it just proves that *Pinky* is the genius, but in a different way than we're expecting. He just takes life at his own pace, laughing and playing while Brain is stressing his ass off trying to fix the world through absurdly convoluted plans and centralized leadership, which never works. I mean really; Pinky is just trying to have fun, and always succeeds. Brain is trying to perform grand, majestic plots, and always fails. So who's really the smart one, here?
To Quote John Flanagan's Ranger's Aprentice Series, "A simple plan is best because there's less that can go wrong". So add that to Albert Einstien's Quote "Repeating the same senario and expecting diffrent results is the deffiniton of insanity" and it proves that Pinky is indeed the Genius from his simplistic veiw of the problem to recognizing no matter what plan Brain makes it'll always fail because it's the same plan every time.
kai magnus If it were the same plan every time, the episodes would be very boring and repetitive after a while. I also have to disagree with this ''simple plan is best'' quote. Simple plans, by their nature, don't take into account any weak spots in it, holes that your adversaries can take advantages of. Of course, a plan too complex, where the success of the plan depends on the success of each of its part, and a single failure makes things go south, that's a problem too, it's true. But there has to be a middle ground.
ChevaliersEmeraude I'd like to add to your observation by stating that "Bumb rush times 10" and "Head on Assault" arnt actually plans but the lack of them. A simple plan for ex. would be if an enemy base has 1000 men and your force only has 10 then infiltrating the base via a disguise would be more practical than trying to break down the door. But a disguise dosn't require any thing as complex as taking over their computer system and sneeking in during the resulting chaos.
Dustin Nettnin The joke is that back in the 1990s there were no "censors", at least not to such an extent, because everything wasn't completely sanitized and you could actually talk about "heavy" things in children's cartoons.
I always loved songs like these. Maurice LaMarche, Rob Paulsen, Jess Harnell, Tress MacNeille and many other voice actors were not only great voice actors, but great singers as well.
Music is from HMS Pinafore, "Stick close to your desk, and never go to sea, and you can be the ruler of the queen's navy." The guys who wrote Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain loved Gilbert and Sullivan.
Cartoon bad guy 101: Always have a button for every occasion, including destroying your invention,......for.....some reason. Don’t quote me on that one. I just pulled it out of my arse.
When Robespierre rid kings and queens, he then set an example with his guillotine. When he started to run amuck, into the guillotine his head the people stuck. (He ended up becoming a headless duck)
Rob Paulsen can do a marvellous job when singing as Yakko who is as his name suggests is very articulate and vocal singing or talking. But he is purposely off key / high pitched when singing as Pinky because Pinky is not usually meant to sing , not full songs anyway. Just describing the difference between the two characters. Rob himself does amazing job with all his vocal work sing or speaking. (esp Yakko🥰).
Did pinkie just burn brain by collaborating everything he learned from the song together? Did pinkie just think? Did he out-think brain, even for just a moment there?
The brain: "Reading history doesn't make things shiny. It edifies you and prepares you to confront the possibilities of destiny." Pinky: "Did you know that every time your mouth moves, strange sounds come out?"
Not actually true. Both Hitler and Napoleon invaded in the spring. It was just that the war lasted a while. The Russians are very good at wars of attrition.
Hitler invaded, only to find out that Russia's Bear Calvary was waiting for them. They met on The Field of Honor, and the Germans lost miserably. They got ridden over by the Bears, given Bear Hugs, found themselves irrevocably Screwed and Borscht by the Calvary's maneuvering of theirs and the Germans forces, and suffered terribly at the Calvary's usage of the Field's High Ground section. The extra Commissioned troops brought to the field as reinforcements by the Czar's orders further sealed the German defeat. General Ivan and Major Ursa both demonstrated their Superiority in defending Mother Russia and also showed how even if you were to work with Bear Necessities, you can still dominate an opponent. They both received high honors at The Czar's Palace a few days after the battle. (I am going to be a special kind of angry if nobody understands this big batch of references...)
You know what's sad? Adult shows on T.V. are dumber than kid's cartoons from just 1.5 decades ago. I think Brain may have finally figured out how to take over the world. Make everyone else really really ... REALLY stupid! Here comes Honey Boo Boo!
He tried that (unintentionally), in an episode where he tampered with the timeline. The changes accidentally made a literal world of Pinkys, to which he was like "I could rule them trivially, but who would _want_ to???" and promptly went back to undo the changes.
There are two callbacks to the series in this song: "The TV viewers you'll delight! Unless the network puts your show on Sunday night!" When _Pinky & The Brain_ launched in 1995, it was aired on Sundays in primetime (7 p.m. ET and PT) as well as Saturdays on Kids WB!. The show won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1996, its only year of eligibility for such an award, for its Christmas special. The episode was rebroadcast several times over the show's run, with its promos referencing the Emmy win. "What are we going to do tomorrow night, sing a song about all the world's cheeses?" This refers to _Cheese Roll Call,_ a song from the show's first season.

I was unsure if it was Clinton or Hucakbee
+jabber1990 Here's your clue Scooby Doo:
The episode is from 1996, Pinky says "the former Governor of Arkansas", which was Bill Clinton since he was the President at the time. The faux pas in question was the Lewinsky scandal from late 1995, Mike Huckabee didn't even become Governor until 1996, and had no noteworthy issues at the time regardless. (Don't mind my analysis, haha)
+Video Assault Saturday! Besides, you can instantly tell from the picture that it's Clinton. (Maybe only if you're over 40.)

"Which one is genius and which one is insane?" "The world may never know!"
+okrajoe Yeah, I've heard a theory that Pinky is the genius. It makes a disturbing amount of sense.

Brain: Through meticulous analysis of history
I will find a way to make the people worship me.
By studying the conquerors of days gone by,
I'll discover the mistakes that made them go awry.
Pinky: So that you can make the same mistakes if you just try.
Brain: By studying the past so carefully,
I won't repeat the same mistakes of history.
Pinky: You'll never make another mistake, you see,
'cause you'll fall asleep from reading all that history.
Brain: Pay attention Pinky!
When Cleopatra reigned as Queen,
With Roman leaders she was often seen.
But when she had no ruling friend,
She found a poison snake to bite her in the end.
Pinky: A bite down there I really wouldn't recommend.
Brain: I won't need world alliances,
When I'm commanding everyone's appliances.
Pinky: Oh no Brain, that would really smart,
To be bitten on the bottom by a Cuisinart.
Brain: Hannibal, our book confirms,
Tried conquering Italy with pachyderms.
Just why he failed, nobody tells,
But he never could get past the Roman sentinels.
Pinky: And he couldn't find his weapons in the peanut shells.
Brain: An elephant is not required,
If I can use the media to be admired.
Pinky: The TV viewers you'll delight,
Unless the network puts your show on Sunday night.
Brain: Attila was a mighty Hun,
He ransacked Asia Minor just for fun.
But when he got to Europe's banks,
He was routed by an army of heroic Franks.
Pinky: I like mine with sauerkraut and mustard, thanks.
Brain: Why pillage like a criminal,
When I can send out messages subliminal.
Pinky: Please send a message to that Hun,
To see if he can pillage me a hot dog bun.
[whack] Zort!
Brain: Caligula was no boy scout,
He did things that we can't even talk about.
The Romans knew he'd lost his head,
When he filled a vacant Senate seat with Mr. Ed.
Pinky: What's wrong with being friendly with a thoroughbred?
Brain: Why rule like such a reprobate,
When I can put the world in a hypnotic state?
Pinky: When everybody's in a trance,
You can make the people do a chicken dance.
Brain: Pinky, if you don't stop this foolishness,
I shall have to hurt you.
Pinky: 'kay.
Brain: In France, Napoleon Buonaparte,
Thought beating Austria was very smart.
But when he took on England too,
He was beaten up by Wellington at Waterloo.
Pinky: And now he's just a pastry filled with creamy goo.
Brain: Why conquer with depravity,
I'll win the world by undermining gravity.
Pinky: And even if your plan falls through,
Maybe they will name a pastry after you.
[squirt] Waahahaha!
Brain: From Ghengis Khan to Charlemagne,
From Alexander down to Tamburlaine.
I find a ruler's tragic flaw,
And gain a little wisdom out of each faux pas.
Pinky: Don't forget the former Governor of Arkansas.
Brain: That concludes my little rhyme,
I hope this lesson wasn't just a waste of time.
Pinky: Well Brain, I've learned that one thing's true,
Every one of them has failed, and so have you.
Brain: Thank you for your vote of confidence.
Now come, we must prepare for tomorrow night.
Pinky: Why, what are we going to do tomorrow night?

"Caligula was no Boy Scout, he did things that we can;t even talk about." Not on a kids show, you can't!
Come to think of it, not on most adult shows these days.
*mwah* Good night, everybody!
I apologize, beoing a cartoon does not make it a childrens show and that should be shown at the begginng of the program....
Jose Blanco Animaniacs was obviously a kids show; I don't even know what the hell you're talking about.
viljamtheninja wITH ALL DUE RESPCT IT AINT aIM At children. iTs aim at everyone .
Looks like someone has been playing too much EU4 lol

Nice
No, but it will help you to take over the world.
It might
You know, the intro of Pinky and the Brain has the line "One is a genius, the others insane".
"ignorance is bliss"
The definition of an 'insane' person is as follows; "A person who tries to do something over and over again with each attempt failing".
'Former Governer of Arkansa'?

Plus fighting a two front war, invading without winter gear, and having massive supply deficits like oil.
Not actually true. Both Hitler and Napoleon invaded in the spring. It was just that the war lasted a while. The Russians are very good at wars of attrition.
@@mattbenz99 In what world is June 22nd spring?

BRAIN IS WINNING
If Brain takes over the world, I want to be in the area that is run by Pinky.
He tried that (unintentionally), in an episode where he tampered with the timeline. The changes accidentally made a literal world of Pinkys, to which he was like "I could rule them trivially, but who would _want_ to???" and promptly went back to undo the changes.
There are two callbacks to the series in this song:
"The TV viewers you'll delight!
Unless the network puts your show on Sunday night!"
When _Pinky & The Brain_ launched in 1995, it was aired on Sundays in primetime (7 p.m. ET and PT) as well as Saturdays on Kids WB!. The show won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1996, its only year of eligibility for such an award, for its Christmas special. The episode was rebroadcast several times over the show's run, with its promos referencing the Emmy win.
"What are we going to do tomorrow night, sing a song about all the world's cheeses?"
This refers to _Cheese Roll Call,_ a song from the show's first season.
