I love how these amari reps keep telling us that they've trademarked "the mental wellness company" like that means anything. You get a trademark by filing the forms, paying the fee, and then enforcing your rights to use it at the exclusion of all others. I could trademark the name "showdog trampoline union," but that doesn't mean that I already have showdogs, trampoline(s), or a union. Spoilers: I don't.

I work with many of my state's agencies and yep, right there on the site for the Secretary of State is the application for a trademark. While I personally don't get too many calls about them (we're tech support for the site), I would say not getting calls about them means it's very easy to fill out. I've gone through it myself when needing to troubleshoot a rare issue. Trademarking a phrase like that doesn't mean anything special and indeed, you don't need to provide any proof proving you are THE one and only wellness company or show how you're better than others. It's just a phrase and that's it.

Sooo okay. I’m a licensed therapist. It *is* true that your gut contains it’s own neurotransmitters and has many neurons but that doesn’t mean anything. Neurons are just nerve cells-the entire body has them. Every nerve cells communicates via neurotransmitters. Emerging research does definitely show a brain-gut connection and there is some research that having a totally out of whack gut microbiome can affect things like depression, but it has to be PRETTY bad for that to happen. It certainly isn’t “when you have butterflies in your stomach it means your brain gut is having emotions” lol. It means your body is flooding with cortisol and adrenaline which has effects on all of your body systems. Also, the vagus nerve thing-the vagus nerve runs through your whole torso down to your butt, basically. There’s some evidence that calming the nerve with, say, long deep breaths can lower your heart rate because the nerve also involves your heart. But there is a lot of bullshit out there about somehow hacking your whole body system with just manipulating vagus nerve activation….
Alsoooooo I love the comment about how doctors can only give you medications. Like…yeah? That’s their job? If you want therapy you have to go somewhere else, that’s why it’s a different health profession.

I'm not deadly allergic, as it doesn't lead to an anaphylaxis response, but I will be uncontrollably sneezing and coughing for a long time from smelling it, and contact with my skin such as a perfume/lotion or clothing washed in lavender scented soap result in nasty hives very quickly. If someone difused lavender oil in my hospital room I would absolutely flip my shit. You never know what others are allergic to, as natural doesn't automatically mean safe. For instance someone from a more religious country may be more willing to live with random church people than a relatively secular american student who would think it sounds weird.

Of course, knowledge about MLM-s as such is much lower here as well so no wonder they still find victims from here. There is a real stigma attached to mental illnesses so of course it's slow and awkward progress and a lot of people suffer without knowing what's going on, if she cared to do any research she'd realise it's not because we don't have pink dust to drink.
Also, a bit ironic to fear-monger about Big Pharma making trillions when she wants to sell her disgusting drink powder and lies her ass off to make it sound at all appealing. It’s just SO aggravating and makes me beyond angry.

I saw a similar post by a young man through a local police department, he was also a college student working for Southwestern Advantage. I think it's something they encourage the kids to do at the local town where they are sent to sell the books. Maybe to legitimize their "business"? I think some of these towns have rules against door to door sales and they are encouraged to contact the local police dept to make sure they are allowed to do this. So weird and dangerous.

The oil hun in the hospital. Oh my! My grandmother was in and out of the hospital this past April (she ended up passing). I could barely function and keep up with my friends let alone social media. I can't imagine trying to hustle my "business" during that difficult period.

Hahaha right? All other things aside like even being able to GET a diagnosis, the absolute HOOPS I have to jump through every single month to get my medication for ADHD because they are a controlled substance...yeah okay, sure, lady 😂
For those curious: I have to have an appointment with my doctor every single month to check in. She has to write a brand new prescription every month because you cannot refill a prescription for controlled substances. I cannot get more than one month's worth of meds at a time. When I go to pick them up at the pharmacy, I have to show ID which they take and go verify. If I want to use a different pharmacy, I have to contact my doctor and have them write another whole new prescription for the new pharmacy to use. Never mind that due to shortages in the last year or two I'm not necessarily guaranteed to GET my meds. Then rinse, repeat every single month for the rest of my life if I want to function "normally." Yaaay....

On the southwest advantage one... Some towns require people to make the public aware that you are doing door to door sales (in a small town I lived in, you were required to contact the newspaper and they put something in the paper/online about it). My guess is the town required her to notify police to do door to door sales and this is how they approached it. An odd way to go about it, because it does sound like they are advertising for her. and yes, why did they give so much identifying information? That's begging some creep to follow her.

I clicked on this video because of the planet fitness thing and now hearing it, if me and my fiancé are going back to them I am making sure that we’re not going to be tricked into joining that MLM. I saw your videos about Octavia, especially the teeth test one and I do not want to go through that. I went through the Slim fast diet back in my 10 years and did not like that since I was drinking nothing but the calories or what I thought were calories, but not doing this one! I mean back in my teen years.

I almost got sucked into the Southwestern Advantage scam when I was in college. Luckily, my parents were able to talk me out of door to door sales and convinced me to find a job in my college town over the summer and take some classes, which was my original plan. I’m so glad they did.
Speaking of scams, I’ve almost been sucked into multiple MLMs from friends, sorority sisters, family members, etc., but never actually joined. I always have pulled the breaks from a sixth sense that didn’t feel right. Idk if they would qualify as horror stories, as I never made it to the joining phase.
Love your videos Hannah! Thank you for reminding people to subscribe because youtube did unsubscribe me!

Hey Hannah! I know billboards in general are not common everywhere. A lot of sales based non MLM businesses in my area showcase employee photos, full names, and accomplishments. Examples I have seen in my area are car sales and real estate. At least in my area, it's completely normal!

I think another part of it is the fact that for a lot of people , when they first begin having struggles with mental health, it’s a lot to come to terms with needing meds and therapy and everything. And taking advantage of that feeling to sell your MLM bs to people is horrible.

Because the fumes were so loud and just going down the hall. I had to explain to the hun that she does not have a right to infringe on other patients, and the fumes were an irritant to my patient’s lungs were already compromised

In regards to the YL hun telling people to take a diffuser and oils to the hospital when visiting - most hospitalized patients aren't in a private room nowadays, and you have no right to subject the other patient(s) to smell of the oils. I also agree with others who have commented that a nurse would most likely tell you to turn off the diffuser and take it away.

considering how many of the mlm horror stories w door-to-door feature people being verbally or physically attacked, or the recentish news stories of people being shot at for ringing doorbells or just being near someone's property, I don't hate the idea of the police and the community being made aware of this girl and her intentions. But at the same time it is that double edged sword of someone with ill intent can seek her out.
It sucks that she's aware there is a potential danger, and is willing to do it anyway, and then probably won't get the money she needs for school

Estonian here! Just wanted to mention that I have been pitched Southwestern Advantage twice in university and every time you tell them "no, sorry I cannot even afford tickets to go to US" they suggest taking out a student loan as a solution. while in the past the money earning potential could have been insane, with our low wages here, nowadays if you work the same hours as SA reps do i.e. as a waitress, you are likely earning a similar amount for the summer(many come back with a big loss actually). Insane people still go there 😅
