I just watched another youtuber shake the controller after hitting the wake button on the controller and that woke up the switch...weird but worth a try
I got their ultimate C bluetooth its great not the latest version the one that's been put for about a year roughly the first one that looks similar to a pro and cbox controller but with the snes dpad. Would you recommend this controller overall and would you say keep it defaulr settings to prevent drift? I like how you can use double AAs if you dont want to use the rechargeable battery. How do you know if theres updates for it? Ive been thinking of getting a new controller with one of these snes pro controllers. I have a standard gaming Lenovo though not a mac so I'm sure if that makes a difference i noticed you had some issues there. I dont think im going to mess with profiles or button mapping sensitivity on it I'll just toggle the in game configuration lol. Great video. Also feel better with your leg dude
Hey, thanks for the good wishes! Yeah, I would definitely recommend this controller. Just as long as you don't set the control stick sensitivity to 90% like I did, you shouldn't have any drift! The best way to check for updates is to download the 8Bitdo Upgrade Tool from their website (support.8bitdo.com/), launch the program, and then connect your controller via USB directly to your computer. And if you have a Lenovo Windows or Linux computer, I would actually think this controller would be more compatible with it than my Mac! I'll have to make another video testing this controller specifically on PC games too.
@@FairyKid64 Oh cool and you're welcome dude! Thanks, I'll check that site out for updates for sure. Appreciate it! Yeah I've been seeking good controllers for a while now for Mortal Kombat, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Street Fighter and beat em ups which I mostly play on my Switch lol. I love how they use the SNES d-pad the best dpad ever imo
Yeah, I have the habit of making long videos when I'm excited about stuff sometimes 😅 That's a good point about the lag too. To tell you the truth though I mostly only noticed it when I was playing Mario 64 emulated on my phone, and then a bit on the Switch too - so I'm not entirely sure if it had more to do with laggy emulation or the controller itself. I'll have to do more tests in a future video. 🤔
I'm planning to mod my pro 2 to hall effect myself since I've been successfully replaced my sn30 sticks with $1 hall effect sticks. Hope it's working lol
Can you map the Star(screnshot button) to one of the back buttons? doesnt look like it from the video. I would like to use it on pc for an mmo and i could use all the buttons i could get lol
Can you please tell me if there is a difference between this controller and xbox series controller about Sticks. I want to know if there are confortble
I actually don't have an Xbox Series controller to directly compare it to, but these sticks do feel very comfortable. They are very similar to the Switch Pro Controller or PS4 sticks.
It's non-existent from what I could tell. I mean, there will be some because it's a Bluetooth controller, but I played through Portal almost exclusively with this controller, and I didn't ever notice it.
It doesn't come with a dedicated Bluetooth receiver. However, you can connect via Bluetooth if your PC has Bluetooth capabilities. Or you could get a USB Bluetooth adapter like this one (Amazon affiliate link): amzn.to/4dnDWt2 It should also work if you plug it directly into your PC with the cord.
Great question! I totally forgot to cover this. It is working in wired mode. You just have to set the pro controller wired communication setting to "On" in the Switch's controller settings.
Oh really? I'll have to compare it directly. I know I played through almost all of Portal with this controller and the sticks performed really well in first person mode.
@@FairyKid64 did you do it? Really interested on this controller but I would love to confirm this.. You can download the software to do it on gamepadla. Thanks for the vid tho =)

been waiting forever for them to update this model, mine comes tomorrow can't wait
Great thorough video buddy. I like the fact you seem to enjoy making these longer vids :)
Thanks man!

Thanks for the comment! I will try it!
You would like the 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth and 2.4ghz controller. It's a perfect Nintendo switch controller. It even wakes the switch.

this was cool but I was hoping for a teardown video
An hour for a controller review! 😮
Man the controller has a lot of input lag (Bluetooth mode).

I got the SN30 pro in the mail yesterday....its a little bigger than the NES30 pro in replacing....
Nice! How do you like it?
does the box say it has hall effect?
Yes, it does - in the lower right corner on the front of the box it has the hall effect symbol.
I'm planning to mod my pro 2 to hall effect myself since I've been successfully replaced my sn30 sticks with $1 hall effect sticks. Hope it's working lol
Hey, that's way cool! Please let me know how it goes!
May I ask which ones did you use? (Or where did you buy them) I also want to upgrade mine.

How is the latency on the controller?

Can the Home button wake the Switch in Sleep Mode?
Unfortunately, no. I really wish it did though because I have a broken leg right now, so getting up is a chore. 😅
would you test this controller on a real n64 to?
Oh yeah, for sure! I'll try to get another video out testing that.
does this control include a blutooth adapter (receiver) to use it on a pc?

@@Notesueltomasyou bet! Thanks for subscribing too!
is it working wired or only blutooth ?

Is this more ultimate than the ultimate now?
Yeah, I guess it probably is. 😊
Unfortunately the resolution of the sticks arent as good as xbox or ps sticks. It’s really evident in fps games
